O' Bannons is an end of the night type place. It's stinky, underground and divey, but the bartenders are nice and there are activities to keep your party busy. There are live djs there pretty often and sometimes they're alright. Definitely the bar where you are most likely to see a fight break out, so keep an eye if ya boys are getting rowdy. read more

Definitely a local hangout. We dropped in while it was raining one afternoon and played some pool and had a couple beers. They have a decent selection. Best thing here is that you can play pool for .75 or 2 games for $1. So all you fools paying $8 at the New Sheridan are just wasting your money. They also have this cool game running for locals only. It's Yahtzee and the kitty was up to almost $600 when we were in. I think it's .50/roll- but like I said, we were not allowed to play! read more

A true dive bar in Telluride! If you're looking for some fancy après, this isn't the spot. They have $2 PBR all day, and some great happy hour deals. It's dark, and loud. There's pool tables, juke box, and locals hanging around all the time. I love coming to a place like this and getting advice from the locals for other places to hit while in town. The bartender we had gave us some great advice for the rest of our trip. if you're into this type of place, definitely swing through and have a cocktail. If you only take your drinks out of crystal stemware, maybe keep looking. read more

My friend and I were looking for a local spot in Telluride to grab a drink on a snowy summer day and I had remembered seeing a sign for O'bannon's when we were shopping earlier. There were a few locals downstairs and we proceeded to discuss everything from Johnny Cash to punk rock to leather jackets to the local food scene. Roxy (the bartender) was the absolute BEST. She was engaging, charismatic, funny and matter of fact about local Telluride living. The conversations we started kept us there for yet another hour after they began. Your typical dive bar... However, this one is especially unsafe. During our recent stay in Telluride, I managed to fall down their stairs (they were wet from rain). I am more athletic than your average Joe and far from clumsy, but they did not have grip tape on the one step I just so happened to slip on. I tweaked my neck, got baseball sized bruises on my back and ankle, and ended up in the emergency room for 3 stitches in my forearm. My arm still has a noticeable, tender bump in it over 2 weeks later. The trip to the ER cost over $1000 and despite our efforts to file a claim, the bar owner/manager has been unsympathetic, unhelpful, and unresponsive. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places in the world but the staff (the girl at the door) has totally ruined it. I grew up in Telluride and hadn't been back in years. Tried to celebrate my 55 birthday and show my wife where I spent most of time when I was young but the "security guard" hostess would not let me in because my license expired on my birthday a day before. At 55 I guess I am not old enough to drink in the bar that I spent most of my youth. It appears it wasn't just me as the group leaving was complaining about her as well as the people in front of us who she did allow in. If you are looking for a good place to go in Telluride go to the Dollar at least the staff won't be so rude and nasty. read more

Definitely a Dive bar....but one that is welcoming and fun. I've been here on 2...maybe 3 occasions. Only 2 "TV's"....and TV's are in quotes for a reason. Not a lot of seating, but interesting people and bartenders that will do a shot with you...in fact I did not know that Colorado is one of a few states that allow this legally. Hands down my favorite bar in Telluride. Nicer than your average dive bar. However still has beer starting at the low price of $2 including a $2 draft at happy hour, 50 cent pool (which is free during happy hour). Foosball, arcade games, card games, dice games, cheap to free jukebox, dance floor, live music events... Only thing I hear that people don't like is that the bartenders don't take any crap from anyone. E.g. If you're being rude to other guests or take advantage of the free jukebox by putting on a 20 song playlist, you'll be sure to hear about it. New Main St location has been totally overhauled and now is a clean, straightforward bar with reasonably priced drinks and a fun array of entertainment from live music, DJs, and games including foosball, pool, video games and darts. Man Telluride is awesome and this place pretty much sums up the local scene. Drinks are cheap ($2 shots) and thy got billiards, darts, and a Street FIgher II machine!!! Good people cruise there and you can chat with them about Telluride. The bartender working was kind of dismissive, but hey which local bartender isnt to non-locals, im cool with that yo! Horrible experience! From the second my husband and our friends walked in we could tell we were not welcome. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a bar. the bartender was very short with us and incredibly rude and seemed annoyed of our presence. After our initial order, she never made eye contact with us again or asked if we wanted something else. As someone who lives in a mountain town (not Telluride), I understand the importance of a "locals bar," but that is NO excuse for rudeness to kind, paying customers--especially when that is whey your town exists in the first place. read more
