However when visited later in the evening and the Bouncer said we were 86'd due not tipping enough earlier in the day. we tipped at least 20% on every round. Jd bartender, extremely rude. Threw my mother (77) and myself (57) out of the bar. I had a shot of fireball in my purse and was sharing g it with my mother. Jd grabbed it out of my hand and yelled, get out!! I was confused and he kept yelling for us to leave. We got up to leave. My mother was a bit slow due to her age and he continued to yell at us from across the bar to get out!!! He could have just let us know the rules and asked us to leave cordially. The service was shitty. It's hard to top a bartender that's a bitch to you. And it's hard to relax when the bouncer is out to get you. Paying customers get kicked out...not for a good reason either. The bouncer doesn't like us ..so he decided to kick us out? That's a personal problem for this bouncer who is a kid. Then he started arguing with me. After all the money we burned in that place? Your going to argue with me? I remember everything in that bar because I was not drunk. So yet again. We are not sure why we got kicked out. This place seems to be famous among the college kids of Durango. There is a shot here called a "Purple Fucker". I'm not sure what's in it, but I was told Red Bull is part of it. These things are very good and very dangerous! Shoot 'em at your own risk! The other perks to this place include cheap drinks, pool, laid back atmosphere and YOU CAN SMOKE IN HERE! That was really nice. It's rare anymore that you can smoke with a drink in hand. I stopped by this place twice while I was in town and both times the staff was super friendly and we had a good time. I will definitely have to stop in again during my next visit to Durango! read more

Very cool bar - and yea, it's popular with college kids. Friends and I would come here after our studying was done (psh, yea... most nights). The pool tables aren't usually backed up, the drinks are always cold, the "Purple Fucker" is really good, and the staff is cool. The music is loud, the bar is kinda smokey, and it just *feels* like a fun place to hang out. Pretty inexpensive to run a tab here. read more

We were walking around looking for a cheap beer and catch a bit of football. This was open and we walked in. First thing that hits you is the smell of stale cigarettes. They should announce at the door that it's a smoking-allowed inside kind of place. You have to order at the end of the bar, and every time you want a refill you have to get up and order at the corner, even if you are sitting right at the bar and have an open tab. You can't order to keep them coming either, you have to get up and go to the corner of the bar. We only stayed long enough for two beers for my husband while I finished my one drink. Blech! Our family of 5 (including 3 hungry teens) stepped one foot in this place and the smell drove us right back out. We were looking for somewhere to eat dinner and watch some college hoops, but it smelled like a giant ashtray full of week-old cigarette butts. I love reading the reviews of people trashing the place because it's (gasp!)...smoky. It's a smoking bar, people! The only one in Durango, as far as I know. You don't like smoke, stay the hell out. Great place for what it is: a dive bar. The bartender was pleasant. The pitchers were reasonably priced.
