We had a nice time at Last Dollar Saloon. We had a nice corner spot at the window so good people watching. Unfortunately the rooftop was closed for winter so couldn't sit up top for the views. Bartenders were friendly and even let us bring in the pizza from next door as long as we cleaned up and took out all the garbage ourselves. They don't serve food here. I ordered a dirty martini which was pretty good but not served very cold. The mojitos were tasty. Drinks are pricy much like everything in Telluride. There is a fireplace but it wasn't lit so that took away from the atmosphere a bit. read more

Last dollar probably took my last dollar but I enjoyed losing it because this is a fun place. There is a lively crowd especially around happy hour. You can play darts or sip some local brews on tap. The bar even allows you to bring in pizzas from next door. Seating felt limited given the crowd but certainly a fun time. read more

Bartender on the evening on March 29 was rude. She was curt and forgot her job was all about customer service. We chose to close out and get a second drink ANYWHERE else. We have had great service at Brown dog every time as well as the Irish pub down the street. Unfortunately, this will not be our first choice to try moving forward. read more

The Last Dollar is a very cool local watering hole in the heart of Telluride. The bartenders are super friendly - it can be hard to get a hold of them as the bar gets very crowded, but they are all quick to serve you up. The views from the rooftop are excellent. You get a great landscape vision of mountains, and the experience gets more philosophical with every beer. Typical saloon with affordable drinks, plenty of seating, a fireplace to warm up after a long day on the slopes, and a handful of TVs to catch your game of choice! I opted for a Rum Punch specialty cocktail... because of course I did when it had light rum, dark rum, and passion fruit (among other ingredients)! We grabbed the corner table near the entrance and enjoyed the comfy cushioned seating. On a Friday night, it was quiet enough to have a conversation, but also busy enough that you had to squeeze up to the bar to order a drink. Friends and I were walking in downtown Telluride when one said I just want to check out this old saloon. So we all traipsed in. Patti the bartender greeted us with a smile and a "hey, how you doing?" Although we were just there to look at the beautiful old bar, her friendly manner and the three dollar draft beers convinced us to stay. In addition to the $3 beers, there were $7 well drinks and $10 fancy drinks. The best prices in Telluride by a long shot! The bar was a mix of skiers, locals and looking-lou folks like my friends and I! Patti kept the drinks cold and the conversation light. We ordered pizza at Brown Dog Pizza next door and ate it at the bar. Patti said eating pizza at the bar was perfectly acceptable so long as we disposed of the pizza box ourselves. Seemed like a fair deal. One of the best meals (and least expensive) we enjoyed while in Telluride. read more

Visited here today and it will be my last visit. We were on the roof. One in our party was finishing their drink while we were playing cards. Owner/bartender came up and asked if the rest of us were drinking. We said no we are done and he said "I'm running a business here this isn't the library. Get something to drink or go" So...we left never to come back again. Based on other reviews it sounds like the same guy has problems communicating to customers. He could have handled this in a way a bit more professional to the point where I may have considered buying another beer but why give this jerk my money? For an establishment that is trying to stay open, the attitude of the manager toward patrons certainly doesn't align with that goal. Rudeness to your out of town guests the moment they walk in will lose business every time. Been in Telluride all week, and have not experienced anything like today at this saloon. Would suggest to the owner some training for staff. They apparently are "frustrated" with customers. If everyone faces the same experience I did, there won't be customers for long. Again to the owner...when we recounted our experience to the next place our party went, the response was that "The Last Dollar has a reputation of rudeness, which is unfortunate because folks like you pay our rent". I won't be going back, but hopefully this serves as feedback that help to improve your reputation. read more

The service at this place is terrible. I was in the bar playing darts with some friends and the bartender said that if we aren't buying drinks then we have to leave. We ended up caving and got a few drinks since they were only $3, but when the drinks finally arrived we found some gunk in our drinks and it was absolutely disgusting. Had one of my worst bar/restaurant experiences ever here last night. Our party attempted to stop in for a drink, and were both screamed at and spoken to disrespectfully by an incredibly rude female bartender. She was insulting to the degree that she asked "Can't you read the sign"? After she was already mad she told us we couldn't be accommodated, despite the fact there was plenty of open seating. Huge fail. We happily moved along and found service elsewhere. Plenty of other bars on this nearby strip and you should patron Tellurides much kinder venues. Loved the atmosphere of this place. However, tonight we were there (4 of us and like 7 total in the place). We were playing songs on the AMI jukebox in the bar. We had lined up (paid for) about ten songs in the AMI app. All of a sudden our music stopped and the entire album of Eric Church played (cut our songs off). The ami jukebox showed our songs were still playing. When asked, the bartender said he didn't know what happened: he had just tried to turn the volume down and it messed up. We left and went to another bar Bc it seemed like they just didn't like our music and now I'm stuck trying to get my money back from AMI (and they lost a lot of money as this was our last night in town). If you don't want certain music to play, remove the AMI jukebox. I'm giving 2 stars Bc we went yesterday and the bartender during the day was excellent. read more

This place was packed, but while window shopping places to grab a drink I noticed that everyone here looked like they were having a great time. There was live music, lots of seating and standing room, and a long bar with plenty of seats. They even have foosball! While we were there the refrigerator was down, but they still had over 10 different beer options on tap. I'd love to stop back in when I can take advantage of their full selection. I have been frequenting this establishment with my family for 25 years. Last night was the last straw. We were having a drink at the bar, and a new female bartender showed up. When my husband asked her for a fresh round he tried to strike up a convo and said we were from texas. She very hatefully said, "i can tell." I guess she doesn't like Texans! We come from the Midwest where everyone is friendly. She wasn't having it. For NO apparent reason after slamming our drinks on the bar, she turned her back and flipped us off in front of the entire bar. My husband tried to ask her what her problem was and she started verbally abusing us both. Screaming at us both to F off. The male bartender was nice enough to tab us out and apologized for her behavior. We asked for the managers email which he supplied. We emailed this am to report this episode to find that it isn't a valid email address. My advice: stay away, this place has gotten too big for its britches. Albeit it has the charm of a long ago saloon, but the service has always been subpar. Go to the Sheridan bar, people are nice and respectful and the bar is way cooler anyway!!! read more

A simple misunderstanding was blown out of proportion that could have been beyond easily resolved with a little bit of respect, courtesy, and communication. Avoid this place. My husband and I were shopping in Telluride and asked a store clerk were the best "local" place was. She pointed across the way to The Last Dollar. It looked great; people on the rooftop patio, and a cowhide chair in the window. That's where the charm begins and ends. Walked in and approached the bar directly where a bartender was making a few margaritas. He did not acknowledge us whatsoever. We continue to be patient believing he is terrible at multitasking and can't figure out how to say,"hey guys, I'll be right with you." He leaves to drop off the drinks two stools down and then goes to count his tips in the corner of the bar. We continue to wait. Another bartender comes behind the bar. He chats with a few people a few stools down and we wave at him and smile to indicate we had been waiting (at this point, several minutes.) some other people walk in, this new bartender acknowledges them warmly, takes their order, prepares their drinks RIGHT IN FRONT OF US and finally acknowledges that he will be with us ASAP. Finally it is our turn. We order our beers and open a tab. They are served to us void of charm, manners, and we felt sooooo out of place. We go upstairs to check out the rooftop patio. It's bland and charmless as well. We promptly head back downstairs, and sit there. The bar has no interesting features at all. It's sterile and cold and full of 50 year old dudes in skate shoes. No activities such as bar games. Passive aggressive bartenders. They were playing gangster rap. Super weird. One of the weirdest bars I've been to. I am also exceptionally polite and all of the bars we went to subsequently in Telluride returned the favor. Hang some stuff on the walls, get a shuffleboard table, and teach your bartenders some manners. read more

Absolutely the worst service in the world. The waitress was so unbelievably rude it was almost funny. All of our group could not believe how absolutely horrible this experience was. The waitress went from waiving her finger in our faces to yelling at us. She even told us we should be lucky we were there after we had reservations to be there. Thank god we had dinner reservations elsewhere so we could leave. This place is hell and our waitress was the queen of it. When we checked into our house, the guy that showed us around told us that this was the place you went to kick it. This is my kind of bar! No frills, no food even, just full bar and beers on tap. Bar is along the left wall whenever you walk in and seating on the right. There's also a fireplace on the right so you can get warmed up from the cold! Plus a stage down at the back of the bar where sometimes you can sit and other times there's a band. There's a jukebox you can play straight from your AMI app, which we took advantage of. The bartenders were great but not in that friendly, talk your face off way. More in that here's your drink made strong and quick, enjoy, kind of way. I don't have a problem with that. Also, when we ordered vodka soda it came in a tall glass - I am not sure what's up with that, if it was a double or what, but we didn't ask for that and we like doubles so I was A-OK with that! And honestly, these were the cheapest drinks I had the entire week other than the ones I made at our townhouse. We liked this place so much we came back again during the week on a night that they had a band and it seemed to be a lot more locals out than tourists. We chit chatted with someone that we had met earlier in the week and had a good time. Definitely will come here again on my next trip to Telluride. read more

Really like this place. Cheap drinks and good tunes on the jukebox. They don't serve food here but you can bring food in from elsewhere. My friends and I had a really good time here. The bartenders are always friendly. They also have self serve water which I appreciate. Why don't all bars have that? The place is usually hopping and it's a great little saloon to hang out for a while. I was glad to see they had Cabernet sauv as I am not a beer drinker. Covid has changed a lot of things, but it should never be an excuse to be awful towards other people. We attempted to stop in last night and have a drink. As soon as we walked in, the girl at the bar started screaming at us saying that we couldn't come in and asking why we couldn't follow directions on some sign at the front door. A sign that was turned around and not visible upon entry. We apologized for not seeing it and then she proceeded to tell us how she wouldn't serve us despite having plenty of seating available. I have never seen anything like this at a restaurant or bar. Terribly rude and absolutely uncalled for. I'd never support a bar that allows their employees to berate customers for for simply walking in and hoping to have a nice night. read more

Had a car bomber here with friends. Just in case you're wondering what a car bomber is, it's a shot half with Jameson whiskey, half with Irish Bailey Cream plunged into a glass of Guiness. Of course you have to down the whole glass at one time. Was pretty good~ bitterness of the Guiness chased by the sweetness of the Bailey. Local hang out, easy going atmosphere. Cash only. Last night was the Balloon Glow. Last Dollar had their rooftop open. There were probably 25 people in that area. At approximately 9:00 a guy who had on a white apron, a baseball cap and dark bushy hair... came into the area and started screaming at everyone to get the F&@k OUT. He was walking like he was going to break bad on everyone up there. No one had asked us to leave.... everyone was confused and then pissed. I head from several that they would never be back. He was an a$$.... no excuse. I just went to get our pizza at brown dog... I was going to talk to a manager at Last Dollar... but they were closed. Hope Last Dollar gets rid of this employee... absolutely not good for business. read more
