I've tried lots of Paik's locations across the country - this is the BEST! The korean owners put a lot of care into honoring the flavors of jajangmyeon & jjamppong & the side dishes as well! I had a nice time going to Paik's Noodle. They have a tap to order machine at your table so you don't have to wait in line to order at the counter. I will say if you want to customize your order you can't so you'll still have to order at the counter. I asked for no bean sprouts on my chicken fried rice and they were accommodating. To be honest, I didn't notice much difference between the Meat Jajangmyeon and the Original--the only real difference was the extra meat. Both had that rich, savory black bean sauce and paired perfectly with the crunchy, yellow radish. The radish was great palate cleanser between bites. The Sweet and Sour Pork, on the other hand, was a 6/10 for me. I liked that it was served with the sauce on the side, keeping the pork crispy instead of soggy. The sauce was much sweeter than I thought it would be, which didn't quite suit my taste. That said, I did enjoy the variety of vegetables in the sauce, especially my favorite--wood ear mushrooms. Now that time has passed, I have been able to try their other menu items which are so delicious! I've had the Jajjang Rice, soy garlic fried chicken, and Jjampong! All are delicious! I will say the jjampong was too salty for me but I am more sensitive to salt than the average person. The jajjang rice is so good with the omelette on top! It was hearty, little sweet, and savory! It really hits when you're craving something comfy like eggs and rice and adds an extra pizzazz! The fried chicken might just be my favorite - so crunchy and juicy! Plus their wings are pretty big. Customer service is good - well rounded. I would just say it is a bit inconsistent. When I go here with friends and family. we clearly are not and therefore do not look Korean, we get less or no banchan/side dishes like Kimchi and pickled radish. That disappoints us because we love those side dishes so much! If they are worried that we won't eat it or will just toss it, maybe to have consistent service, just ask! The last time we went, our server asked if it was our first time and when we said we were repeat customers, she instantly asked if we wanted more radish which I appreciate but I think it should be standard. Last thing I will mention are the punch cards they give out. My friend and I both had one because its been done before; we each get a stamp. However, this last time, they said only one punch card per table even though we paid separately. So happy for this new location! As a self-certified k-drama addict, craving for Jjajangmyeon comes nature after a night of binge-watching. By luck this location is much closer to me than all the others. We have been there twice already, once during their soft opening, and will be back for more. This is the go-to spot for jjajangmyeon! The noodles were bouncy and you can cut them to your desired length. Portion size was HUGE. I also tried the soy garlic fried chicken, which came topped with garlic flakes that took the flavor to the next level. Service was friendly, accommodating and quick. Very exciting to get a paiks noodles out this way: normally we go to the one in k town but this place is way better and idk how. It makes the older paiks in town look like a rip off.
