The crispy rice spicy tuna is hands down my favorite dish, probably the best I've ever had. The sushi rolls are super fresh, and the udon noodles are packed with flavor. Definitely try the toasts, too (it is their thing, after all) -- I love the avocado egg, and my husband swears by the smoked salmon. The coffees and refreshers are great as well. As we sat we were given a tasty miso soup on the house, we placed our appetizer order which was the octopus pancake and the shrimp tempura. The shrimp tempura was delicious and crunchy. The octopus pancakes were soft and creamy not too hot just perfect temperature. We ordered the pirate roll and the samurai roll along with sushi. Everything was so delicious and fresh tasting. I really enjoyed the pirate's spice, it's got a jalapeño on the top and is just the perfect amount of spice for spicy lovers the samurai roll was so flavorful and soft with a slight hint of spice which was very enjoyable. The sushi was very fresh and delightful. Definitely coming back! They also gave us some ice cream on the house before we left which we really appreciate it. We came a good hour before they closed and they were so polite, some places they feel rushed when this happens, sushiyo is not one of those places they went above and beyond! Thank you Sushiyo! Located so close to my house, is this amazing Sushi restaurant nestled and tucked away in the corner of a small strip center on Barker Cypress near 529. Sushiyo is fairly new, and I definitely wanted to show support to a new family owned neighborhood restaurant! I came in at 730 on a Thursday. Since they are fairly new, it was just me and another couple enjoying dinner. Our server/sushi chef was very kind and attentive. He was working the front and the back himself.. I didn't even notice! I ordered the Titanic Roll and yellowtail roll and the specialty titanic roll. I was pleasantly surprised HOW FRESH the sushi was. The yellowtail was chilled just right and wrapped perfectly! The Titanic Roll was also amazingly made as well. It's probably some of the best sushi ratios I have seen in so long. The spicy tuna, salmon, and yellowtail melted in my mouth. Yellowtail can have a tendency to sometimes be a bit rubbery if it is not prepared fresh.. NOT the case. Some of the most fresh sushi I have had in some time. I'm not sure if their stock was just brought in for the weekend, but I came on the perfect day! I will definitely make this my regular go-to sushi spot. Please show love to this family owned business! Since it was just us, our sushi master came by and also gave us the juiciest piece of orange for a sweet kick. I'm kind of a sushi snob so I don't mind driving to the city for quality sushi. With that said, sometimes you just get desperate and just don't have the time or energy for the long trek. I found this little gem thanks to Yelp. I'm all for supporting small and local businesses, but especially to places that deserve it. The fish is the freshest you can get this far out in the burbs. The prices are extremely fair for the quality. The rolls are ridiculously huge and filling. The owner/chef is the sweetest person and really appreciates the business. The sushi rolls where all very very delicious! I really enjoyed the Volcano Roll and the Baked Baby Scallop Roll and my family also really loved the Cajun Roll! The Dragon Roll was good as well! We also had chicken Katsu (I forgot to take a photo) But it was one of the best Katsu's I had in a long time it was crispy on the outside and very juicy and moist on the inside! My 9 year old approved! Also for price it is amazing for the quality of the food and freshness! Cheaper then most places I have tried and taste even better! I became a fan! Highly Recommend! Me and my friend have been coming here every saturday for the past few months just because we love it here. We've become regulars to the point where they gave us a gift this holiday season. They know our order already but still come to the table just in case we want anything different. The outside of the restaurant doesn't do it justice. It's really cute inside and it is cozy. They always have music or the news on their TV and if you want a specific channel you want to watch, and if they have it available, they'll change it to your request. The service is amazing and prices in my opinion are reasonable and justified. I really do think that you get your money's worth here. I always get the same order every week but my friend changes it up every few times we visit and she says she's always satisfied and happy with what she ordered. I will be honest though. There is two unfortunate things about this place that I think should be noted if you want to try this place. There is not much space to park in the front of the building but there's more than enough space behind the building. It's not a long walk to annoy you but it's just a fact that there if there's no parking space up front. Another thing that I really wish they had is a soda fountain. They only have cans and bottles when it comes to water and sodas so refills aren't really a thing here unfortunately. I don't really rate places unless I really love it or really hate it so that speaks volumes. I still give this place a 5 star only because I really enjoy this place every weekend and everyone is so nice. If you are looking for sushi or Japanese food, I really suggest you try this place. read more

Pros: The food didn't make me sick, so points for that. I didn't feel crowded despite all the tables being full. The service was spectacular. My drink was attended to, the food brought out within a reasonable time, and utensils provided without being asked. The food itself was solid. The Miso Soup made me do my "happy delicious" face. I heard people speak very highly of the sushi they were eating, so take that for whatever it means to you. Cons: The pork was a little overdone, but that's an easy fix, and your experience may vary. Everything else was cooked properly and delicious. Miscellaneous: Parking is a bit difficult at this location, but that's not really Sushiyo's fault. There's more parking behind the building. We went here on Wednesday night, 4/26. My wife had the shirashi bowl (mixed raw seafood over a bowl of sushi rice), and I had teriyaki chicken, which was served with rice, a side of sliced cabbage and cheese corn, and a bowl of Miso soup. Everything was delicious. The place was empty when we arrived, and no one came in while we were there. The chef was the only person working there, but we didn't wait for anything, although he was very apologetic. His service was top-notch. He suggested an extra bowl of teriyaki sauce for me, and a bowl of sesame oil for my wife, and both additions were great. When we finished, he even brought out a bowl of chilled orange that he had prepared. It was lovely, and a fine accompaniment to our meal. This seems like a great place, so I was sad to see it so empty. If you're thinking about it, please give it a try. We really enjoyed it, and will be back. read more

Wow this food was awesome! Our normal place happened to be closed one day so we found this place that was so conveniently around the corner from our house! We went two times and both times were delicious! I have 2 kids that can be picky and both loved their food. One ordered the chicken friend rice and the other the chicken udon noodles. I order the sushi combo that has a California roll and has some sushi picked by the chef. Omggggg soooooo delicious! I kind like to pick what I'm familiar with but am not afraid of trying new things. This plate made me fall in love with a bunch of other raw options! My husband got the chicken teriyaki and he ate everything!! Both servers were both very nice and checked on us frequently. I hope this place continues to get visitors because there's never other people when we go. I do see orders coming in for like Uber eats though! People support small businesses because they need us!! I found the dishes to be very fresh and innovative, without being gimmicky or juvenile (to me, deep-fried sushi rolls are juvenile... then belong at the Texas State Fair along with deep-fried Snickers bars). I had the Sushi combo, it featured an excellent piece of Octopus, one piece of sashimi had a dribble of very cool Habanero / tomatillo salsa. My wife has the salmon poke bowl, which they can prepare with either raw or smoked salmon. She really enjoyed it. The decor is clean. It's not crowded in there. My wife had tha Samuri roll and spicy tuna roll. The chef is attentive and you can tell he puts his heart into it. A lot of these rolls I have never seen before which was refreshing. I am just sad we were the only customers in there the both times we visited.
