My mom got the Kung Pao Shrimp and she really liked it. It had some spice because of all the peppers in it, but it wasn't super overpowering. The staff were super nice and we got our food quickly. I ordered my food online for pick up and assumed it would be ready a bit early as most Asian restaurants your food is ready 10-15mins early but not here they stick with the time you chose which is a good thing as to make sure the food is hot and fresh. Once I got home and tried everything was fine. I got the shrimp foo young because where I'm from we do a shrimp Saint Paul, which is basically the egg foo young with two slices of bread so as a sandwich, I enjoyed it. It wasn't like home, but it was good. The rice and noodles lacked the flavor I was looking for, but the crab raccoon was very good. I'm not sure if I would go back or not because there are so many restaurants like it that do a better job with the flavor of the rice and noodles. I give Star Wok Asian Bistro 4 1/2 stars, because their service is fast, friendly and professional, and the food is tasty with good portion sizes. Although I've had better Chinese food, this is definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in this area. Helpful note: it is not on the menu, but for $2 dollars more, you can ask them to make an entrée into a combo that includes a soup and egg-roll. read more

Good delivery or to go Chinese food. Every dish was full of flavor! The egg drop soup and hot and sour soup had the perfect soup texture. The flavors were good. I love that they use real flat egg noodles for lo mein. The mapo tofu was really good with white rice. The garlic sauce dish was also really good! I would order from them again. read more

This place has been my go to Chinese spot for years. Can never go wrong with any of the combos they do , whether it be lunch or dinner. The portions are always great and hefty. I walked in at 9:30 and they close at 10. I asked if it's ok to order, noticing that they were mopping the dining area, and they said yes. I only wanted one order of shrimp fried rice. Supported this place very often and I usually don't go to places within 30 minutes of closing but this day I was very hungry. My food was ready in 12 minutes. Apparently walking in at 9:30 is justification to put a stand of hair in someone's food. It seemed to be placed there on purpose, so I would avoid eating here. read more

The vegetables had a good variety, but the sauce was sweeter than I'd like. The vegetable Eggrolls / spring rolls were not good. Chicken and broccoli (in white sauce) 10/10 our only complaint is that it's too much chicken and we prefer more veggies Fried rice 9.4/10 it's so flavorful and doesn't need soy sauce, and good portion size Egg rolls- 10/10 I got them on my most recent visit. I slept on this incredible place for too long. I kept reading the great reviews and I'm adding my own. They cook all the American Chinese staples and have tons of other dishes to try. If you are in the mood to try something new, ask the girls at the front for a recommendation. They rattled off a few other dishes I will try next time. Fairly good experience at this small whole in the wall Chinese bistro in Cypress. Luckily for me they were open pretty late on a Friday after taking the pup to the dog park. I ordered 1 order of their spring rolls and and order of their spicy curry chicken with white rice. Curry chicken was a first time try with any Chinese restaurant and it was fairly good. So, I made plans to get several dishes togo so I wouldn't be that person that sits at the restaurant and has 4 meals infront of them. You don't know what I am talking about or have never seen those people??? - yeah because they get it togo! I ordered a few of my favorites and a few "looks intersting" dishes. I has to have pineapple slush (good), hot and sour soup (good!), crab puff (good!!), shrimp lo mein (tasty!), and ordered black pepper chicken (I love the texture and taste of black pepper but the white chicken was a little dry. I'd order this again but I would rather try new items first.), and Ma po Tofu (I have had better, usually with pork not beef. It is ehhhh.) The steam rice was good. You never think steam rice would make a review but unless you had mushy or hard as rock rice you need to talk about that great cooked streamed rice! I would definitely come back! First major change I noticed were the dumplings I love the old pan fried dumplings and now they are store bought chicken gyoza. Other than that, good for price! Ratings below with reasonings: - Shrimp Lo Mein: 2.5/5 - it definitely needs more sauce and the veggies are not cooked so it tastes like raw onion with noodles cooked in grease. I will add oyster sauce myself. Shrimp is very good though which is why I gave a 2.5! - Orange Chicken: 3.5/5 - this is a very fresh orange chicken with real orange in it. It's no Panda Express but the meat is great and the sauce isn't syrup. Took off 1.5 points because it's not a lot of food for the price. Maybe 8 pieces of chicken. - Pan Fried Dumplings: 2/5 - I love fat juicy pork fried dumplings and they used to serve those but since Covid I've noticed more Chinese restaurants switch to thin gyoza. They are fine but not as satisfying as a juicy pan fried dumpling. - Crab Puffs (Rangoons): 4/5 - I expected a very sweet Rangoon with plain cream cheese filling and that's what it is. No frills or extras. It is heavily more dumping wrapper than filling which is why I docked a point but it's what you'd expect in 2023. - Mongolian Beef: 5/5 - this dish is perfectly savory with a TON of grilled onions which I love!! Very spicy and not too gummy from the beef. Will definitely order again. All in all I would eat here again! I ordered at 9pm on a Friday night and the girl who took my order was very polite. Not many Asian restaurants make egg foo young anymore and these folks know how to make them. The gravy they serve with the egg foo young is very good! Delicious‼The restaurant could use a face lift to bring a little life back since the pandemic. To my knowledge they have not had indoor dining since the pandemic. Their not one of those businesses that hide your meat in tons of veggies. Nah the meat steals the show here, they ain't stingy at ALL with their portions either. My hubby doesn't think it's better than panda but he also thinks general wok is the best Chinese food ever, so I'm not sure about his opinion, but mine -- I've been around and they're worth the 20 minute drive every time.
