I really liked their noodle texture it was very qq - chewy and has a good bounce. I thought their jajangmyeon was good and also enjoyed their fried chicken. I thought their jjamppong was pretty good as well but enjoyed their jajangmyeon more. You order on the kiosk when you come in and pick it up at the front, then you return your tray to the front after, the inside has quite a few seating.
You order yourself at the self-kiosk by the door and when your food is ready they'll call you up by your number to pick-up your food at the counter. The jjajangmyeon noodles have a nice bounce and the sauce is not too sweet and is savory at the same time. The sauce for the tangsuyuk comes on the side which I appreciate. There's plenty of seating available and is on a first come, first serve basis.
When you enter the door you are greeted my 2 self order machines. Pails has opted to have customers use their touch screen to thumb through different food items. I am a bit disappointed I didn't have the opportunity to speak with a waitress or staff member to ask for suggestions based on what I wan in the mood for. When your food is ready your order number is broadcasted for you to head to the counter and retrieve your dish(s). There is a visual aspect that is inviting in the restaurant. A cook is displayed behind the counter person with a huge wok on a stovetop. I want to let you know I'm not a fan of this system of announcing order numbers for people to retrieve their items. The speaker system is loud and it should be to ensure that everyone in the restaurant can hear their order. I just didn't like it. The fried dumplings were hot unfortunately they left flavor and taste. I should have ordered something else, but I thought their dumplings would be something special saying that it's a Korean and Chinese fusion restaurant. That being said the stir-fried Jajangmyean was tasty and full of flavor. I excluded the squid. I added a dash of Soy sauce for a tad more saltiness. The dish is enough food for 2 adults! I enjoyed the experience although it's not Benihana. It was a wonderful experience to see the cooks in the back with the large Woks preparing orders. I enjoyed my stir-fry it the most and so will go back to try other dishes. I know Asian Pacific Islander month is gone, but I wanted to pay one more homage to that month so that's why I chose this restaurant. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone metaphorically not physically. I recommend this restaurant, if you speak the language or are more savvy with your phones capabilities than I am, you might have an easier time figuring out many options. I rate this restaurant at 4.5 stars, but that's not an option with the rating system so I will give them a 4. GN3
This place has got some AMAZING jajangmyeon! I'd love to see Paik's get a bit more love! Their bellaire location, from what i've heard, is the most consistent in terms of quality. Food has amazing flavor, but it can feel a little heavy on the oil at times for me. Staff here is usually kind, but it's not so much a full sit-down restaurant experience, so they don't usually interact with guests outside of handling the order and calling out numbers. I would caution against opting for extra protein options -- they don't tend to put much extra meat when you do and I just don't think it's worth the extra cost.
Honestly so yum! I got the stir fried seafood jajangmyeon and I enjoyed it though I felt that for the extra nearly $10 it's not quite worth as I'm pretty sure there were less than 5 small shrimps and a few peices of squid - personally not substantial enough to essentially pay the cost of another regular jajangmyeon bowl. We also ordered the sweet n sour chicken. So so crispy and yumm.. though it really reminded me of McDonalds chicken nuggs with their sweet n sour sauce. Overall I'd come back as the food was good and honestly pretty affordable.
I have been waiting for Paik's to open at DiHo Square for quite awhile. Ever since the closing of Kuen's Noodle House, I got so excited when I saw Paik's Noodle sign hung on the building. After reading few reviews at other branches. I was dying to try Jajangmyeon. The pictures looked so yummy and fresh. Unfortunately, my experience was completely opposite for what I expected. I ordered take out. It came with a container of yellow pickled daikon, box of cold noodles with some peas as garnish and hot Jajangmyeon sauce (temperature hot). I was curious about the noodles. So, I asked the employee. He said the noodles was manufactured from somewhere else. Overall, I don't like the kiosk being far away from the counter. The employees didn't look friendly. I never felt welcomed. For what I paid for, I would rather eat at other restaurants. Oh, everything is pork. The only non-pork meat dish is Beef Jjamppong, otherwise it's vegetables.
Jajangmyeon is a must try! The noodles are so bouncy and savory. Definitely on the heavier end, but the sauce and pickled radish combo is delish. The jjampong was my least favorite just because it was a bit too salty for me and I couldn't taste much of a seafood flavor. The Tangsuyuk has to be eaten fresh! It was hot and crispy and the sauce was thick and sweet. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. You order thru kiosk and pick up at the counter. It was super convenient and the restaurant has lots of seating.
Self service counter. Pretty pricey, and set up looks like a narrow Asian grocery food court. The fried chicken was really tasty. The jajangmyeon with extra meat was good, but not the best I've ever had. The beef soup noodle was gentle with a slight kick of fresh Serrano peppers. The major downside was that the menu was limited to mostly pork heavy dishes with seafood, and beef here and there. The chicken option was mostly the wings. Would come back to get more wings.
A very jam packed day today going around the city and crossing off my checklist. Towards the end of my errands for today, I was feeling hungry. I decided to visit one place from a Instagram post. I luckily remembered it and crossed my mind today. I had to try Paiks Noodle. What I recall, there is a specialty dish that I am a fan of that really swayed me to stop in. I had to try the black bean noodles (jajangmyeon) and the sweet & sour pork (tangsuyuk). I went with the stir fried jajangmyeon that is bit spicier with shrimp, squid and vegetables. Two words: family portion. They are big portions to share. I did enjoy the flavors of the stir fried jajangmyeon with a more enhancement from the original simplicity of the dish. The tangsuyuk is crunchy and had that nice bite. The sweet and sour sauce is on the side for you to dip or pour as much as you like. All came with the Korean yellow radish if you are familiar with that side dish. Overall enjoyed the visit. I definitely know a place to visit for jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk. But they also have other items like soups, wings, rice, dumplings, and other entree choices. This is a very causal spot to stop in with a fair amount of seating. You grab your utensils, bowls, to go items and water dispenser if you choose not to purchase a bottle drink. *some things to note* I stopped in during their second half of the day, the staff are on a break from 3:00-5:00 pm and then opened for dinner service. Tuesdays they are not open and open every other day. Lastly, the prices are fair if you are dining solo. But the portion sizes are a nice amount and for my two dishes for today, I would consider them good for 2-4 people. *One lesson* If you choose to eat black bean noodles and like to live dangerously, I dare you to wear white. Number 1 rule ever, "No white clothing" unless you are ready to accept you won't come with some sauce stains. Carry a tide to go or wipes. I hope to come back for more especially when it becomes colder later this season.
Got takeout from Paik's. Got the extra meat jajangmyeon and the tangsuyuk. The jajangmyeon was flavorful and rich, the noodles nice and bouncy. The tangsuyuk had a nice mochi-like crust, not too crispy, with a sweet sauce that worked well. Good portion size, enough for two with some leftovers to spare. Definitely will need to try other options!
OK of course we had to try this place after watching Culinary Class Wars. This place lived up to the hype- just some solid/very good jajangmyeon with other korean-chinese fusion dishes. In addition to the jajangmyeon, we also tried the sweet and sour pork, potstickers, and the jjamppong. - The jajangmyeon is delicious and perfectly sweet with well cooked noodles. A true staple and must get when you come here. Also the spicy version tastes better in my opinion, but it is also a building spice, so ideally, see if you can mix the spicy and non-spicy versions together for a perfect medium. - The sweet and sour pork is one of those dishes where the more you eat it, the more intrigued you become and the better it gets. I think its breaded with a mochi crispy exterior that makes it both crispy and chewy. You dip the pork in a sweet and sour sauce the reminds you of Chinese suan la tang (sweet and sour soup). - The potstickers were fried to a perfect crisp, but the filling wasn't anything special. - Personally, my least favorite dish was the jjamppong (seafood, pork based soup), but it is still worth a try. We just got the snack size! Ambiance was good. You order from the kiosk at the front. Overall, glad to have tried it and it feels even more special having watched Paik on the show. Everyone should go watch it by the way!! 10/10 recommend.
I was ecstatic when they announced that there would be a second Paiks Noodle location in Houston, especially much closer to my house than their other location in Korea Town. I finally had the chance to check it out recently. This location is located in Chinatown, and the interior was really nice. I ordered the foods to-go this time. The portion size was just as large as the other location, and the quality was just as good. I got the meat jajangmyeon, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk, and they were all super tasty. Pictured noodles are only half portion of each. Can't wait to go back for more.
Self service kiosks right at the front but if you like people interaction. Just slide on down to the counter. I haven't been to this location before but Paiks is my go to place for Korean-Chinese. Jjajangmyeon with the black bean sauce is my favorite along with the sweet and sour pork(tangsuyuk). Place was clean, albeit a little slow to get the food out. read more
Came back since I had a good experience and enjoyed the delicious food in the past but left disappointed this time. Ordered one Jajangmyeon and one of the Sweet and Sour Pork to share between 2 people. As last time, it was more than enough but that doesn't seem like the case no more. Though the Jajangmyeon was still delicious, but the portion has shrank and wasn't enough for two people. As for the Sweet and Sour Pork, it was a small piece of pork covered and fried in batter that was way too thick. Everything else is still the same, it's still self-service, the place is clean, and has lots of seating. Overall, the quality and the portion of food has gone down. read more
Upon entering, we ordered at the kiosk and seated ourselves. Within a few minutes, our number was called and we picked up our food on a tray at the front. There is a self-serve area with plates, utensils, water, etc. The jajangmyeon with black bean sauce was delicious! Silky noodles and the sauce was not too overwhelming. We shared between 2 people, but we probably could have each ordered 1 separately to fill us up more. We also ordered the sweet & sour pork, which I didn't like as much. It's a shareable portion of fried pork, but ours wasn't crispy at all, it tasted almost stale and was difficult to chew. The sweet & sour sauce is served separately and was nicely sticky, but a little on the sweet side. When finished, you bring your tray back & clean up after yourselves. Overall noodle dishes were great, but would try a different protein next time! read more

Kiosk ordering was simple. The serving size is enough for 2. We ordered the jajangmyeon, which felt light on the meat. I wish that we had ordered the meat jajangmyeon. The tangsuyuk was excellent fresh - very crispy and hot. Happy they opened a location in Chinatown. read more

Really casual place, with fast service and tasty food. The chicken wings were so good - crunchy, juicy and great flavor. The noodles were tasty too and had a nice texture. Will definitely be back! read more
Such yummy food! So glad there's a closer location. Affordable food for a great quality. The jajang rice and jajangmyeon is enough for 2 people. My favorite was the tangsuyuk, garlic soy wings and jajang rice. Tangsuyuk was perfectly chewy and crisp, I couldn't stop eating it. The rice was super flavorful with the egg. Garlic soy wings were very garlicky and crispy! Jajangmyeon is a classic but it's not my preference. However it is a must try. Very filling portions for a group of people! Parking is plentiful in the plaza. Ordering is from a self kiosk and food is prepared quickly. read more
I am not keen on kiosk ordering... so I went to the counter. Service was friendly and person answered all our questions. This is a counter service... you pickup your food when it's ready. Self service water and utensils. BTW rice is purchased by the bowl. Family friendly. There is decent seating. I enjoyed the Spicy Wings (crispy, tender and very flavorful full), Chili Shrimp (very good flavor and texture) and Jajangmyeon (comfort in a bowl). The rest of it was just ok. The rice was not ok... didn't seem fresh. We all agreed the other dishes were meh. Shared parking lot - very busy on the weekends. read more

Great place for fast Korean. All the flavors were one note but a good solid note. The only negative was the salt levels of the soy chicken. Paik's kinda reminded me of an elevated Mc Donald's. All the dishes seemed to be made fresh but also designed to be done very quickly. read more
Paik's Noodle is a chain that has finally opened up its second Houston restaurant. I was excited it came to Bellaire's Chinatown and had to come check it out. Right as you enter, there are a few machines where you place your order. Once you order, you seat yourself and gather your own utensils. The workers are at the back with an open kitchen. For 3 adults and two kids, we ordered the Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, Jajang Rice and sweet and sour pork. The Jajangmyeon was my favorite, albeit a little on the sweet side for me. I thought they were generous with the pork in here. The noodles were al dente and it came with a side of yellow radish that was extremely sweet. The Jjamppong was flavorful and spicy. I wish it had a little more squid and mussels in there, for the $14 price. The Jajang rice had the black bean sauce and included an egg, which my son enjoyed. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and a bit chewy. The quality of food can be described as fast food. It wasn't bad, but nothing really was special about this place. By the time we finished up around 7:15, about half the restaurant was full. read more
I love jajjjang but I was not ready for the level of spice with the stir fry seafood jajjang. Nobody in my Korean family was. You could see the fresh peppers in there and they were peppering. Overall the food was really good. The tangsuyok aka sweet and sour pork Korean style was on point and delicious. The pork jajjangmyeon was really delicious. Fried dumplings were crispy and flavorful. Garlic wings were super tasty. Jampong was good but not as spicy as the stir fry jajjang. Rice side was plentiful. Stir fry noodles and seafood were a good addition. Pretty sure we tried everything and we liked it. Service was fast and food was steaming hot just like us Koreans like it. read more

Known for the Jjajangmyeon and Jjamppong, Paik's Noodle is a staple for quick and easy Korean-Chinese food. The jjajangmyeon is a classic, such that the noodles are chewy and jjajang sauce is savory and has a hint of sweetness. Always hits the spot! The Jjamppong is flavorful yet moderately spicy. They don't skimp on the seafood (squid, mussels) here! The ambiance is casual, such that you order from a Kiosk, before self seating and self serving. The food tends to come out within ~15 minutes from the time you order. Not too shabby. Overall, if you're looking for a quick fix or a place to catch up with friends, Paik's is the place to be! read more
Paik's Noodle is my favorite place to get Korean-Chinese food! I've tried the first location on Long Point before and really enjoyed the jjajangmyeon and I'm happy to say the quality of the food at this location is the same. I dined in and this time I got the jjajangmyeon and also decided to try the sweet and sour chicken/tangsuyuk. The jjajangmyeon was solid as always with nice chewy noodles. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy and the sauce on the side was tangy but a tad bit too sweet for my taste. I like that you can quickly place an order on the kiosk without having to talk to anyone. Utensils and water are self-serve. read more
Brought the bride and the kiddos on a Sunday afternoon. Wasn't busy. You are greeted by two order machines at the front (but I believe you can also order at the pickup counter in the back) where you can place your order. You then seat yourself and pick up your bowls, utensils, napkins, waters, etc. at a self-serve area. Your order number is then announced over the airwaves and you pick up the food at the counter. The place is new and clean. The food was OK but the price is pretty steep for what it is. I will say though, the garlic soy chicken wings were quite tasty, but again, not worth the $16+ price tag for 10 pieces, some of which were tiny. At this price point, there are other options in the area. read more
Since it was self-ordering on the screens at the front of the restaurant, there wasn't much service to comment on, but the staff behind the counter appeared to be nice. The ambiance was fine as well. I liked that there was a half wall dividing the two sides of the restaurant for a little more privacy. The actual food was good but not great or outstanding when comparing it to the same Korean dishes at other restaurants. I would've liked more depth of flavor, specifically for the jajangmyeon, but the dumplings were solid. read more

This is self service type place however the food speaks for itself. Delish! While the menu has a lot of spicy items it's still worth checking out and trying. I did warn that it is spicy but if you ask, I think they could make it less spicy. read more

My friend was craving Paik's Noodle so we decided to go there after a week of class. Paik is apparently a celebrity chef from South Korea and his home restaurant specializes in Jajangmyeon (black bean noodle) and jjamppong (seafood noodle). I got the jajangmyeon over thin noodles. You can also get it over rice or a chili version as well. The black bean sauce is savory and comes with pork and vegetables. The bowl was so filling. The black bean sauce had a rich and robust umami flavor with a hint of sweetness. This is honestly something I can eat almost every day read more
This is a franchise restaurant from Korea. We had ordered seafood jjamppong and jajangmyeon. They both were pretty good. You can order from the Kiosk and get your order number. They will call your number when food is ready. Worth to give it a try. read more

I was already fan of Paiks Noodle's Longpoint location but when I found out that a location closer to me opened up, I was so excited to check it out! I ordered the chili jjajangmyeon this time. This was actually quite spicy for me but super yummy! I liked it more than the regular one. This location has a lot more seating and easier parking which I appreciated but had the same friendly service. Ordering was also easy, there are two kiosks right at the door when you enter and the order number is called out when it's ready at the counter. Make sure to clean up after yourself if you go! Easy to order, either on the monitor or at the counter. Menu has pictures for food. Prices are great for the amount of food per portion. The place is clean and lots of room available. read more
I tried their new location in Bellaire & it did not disappoint! Delicious foods & plenty of tables open for you to choose from in comparison to the Long Point location. The food wait time wasn't too bad considering that we got there a couple minutes after they opened. Definitely worth trying if you haven't tried at the other location! read more

I came here for lunch a week after opening and there were only two other tables eating. It's a chain that already exists in Houston (K-town) but I thought there'd be more business since it's new. I got the jajangmyeon which is what they're known for. It was a big portion and very hearty. You could order from the no contact kiosk or counter and you pick up your tray of food at the counter when your number on your receipt is called. read more
