You first order your food at the counter and then you pick a table. They quickly brought out a side order of sweet and sour pork that I was sharing with my kid. Appreciate how they give the sauce in the side so you can sauce up your deep fried pork and much or as little as you want. The pork was lightly battered and airy. Nice sauce, not too sweet. The jajangmyeon was just the right portion of noodles and sauce. I opted for the meat version, which had an extra portion of meat. Noodles were wonderfully soft and allowed the sauce to mix in. I enjoyed the jajangmyeon but was not too impressed with the sides. Ample parking in a nice plaza right next to the mall. Order first and pay before sitting down. It can get quite packed and tables may not be cleaned, so dining in can be hit or miss. There's no real service but they do clean up tables, so no bussing dishes back. Stir-fried Jajangmyeon - larger portion, amazing for sharing! Rich and savory. Bits of pork, squid, and shrimp make up the protein here and everything is mixed together which makes the dish ready to serve and share. They provide a pair of scissors to help cut those long noodles stuck on the mountain of food. Overall good bang for the buck while also being tasty. Sweet and Sour Chicken - I'll start by appreciating they decouple the sauce and the chicken. Not sure I would have finished the food if they were together because there was an abundance of sauce that was overly sour. Chicken wasn't dry but also wasn't the most juicy. Paik's is great if you like a blend of fast casual with modern authentic food. The food comes very quick, but we ordered only fried items, so maybe that's why. Food has to be paid for ahead of time, and there's no wait staff. The only time workers came by was to drop off the food, so water was never refilled. The water container they provide is barely enough for 3 people after 2 rounds. We tried the sweet and sour fried chicken and fried pork. They use the same sauces. I preferred the fried pork more than the fried chicken because I didn't realize from the picture that it was literally fried chicken. This was my first time going to a Paik's Noodle location. I know there is one in Bellevue, too. I came here with my friend, and we both ordered the jjajangmyeon, of course. The jjajangmyeon came hot and very saucy. Upon eating it, the black bean sauce was so delicious and perfectly coated both the vegetables and the noodles. Paik's jjajangmyeon contains peas, which I'm not much of a fan of, but that doesn't matter if the overall dish can blend them in. I would say the ratio of vegetables to pork is more vegetables than actual meat. They definitely try to skimp out on it. My friend and I were able to finish our jjajangmyeon, so you know the portions are quite reasonable for one person. I've visited this location twice in the past few months since they opened and had two very different experiences. First visit: It was a party of three, and we added our name to the waitlist. We were called to order at the register within about 15-20 minutes, which wasn't bad considering it was lunchtime and pretty busy. After ordering and paying, we took our number and found a table. The staff was attentive and even checked in to see if we needed refills on the pickled radish. Second visit: This experience felt like a complete 180. We came during dinner with a larger party of six (including a baby), so we expected a longer wait--which was totally fine. However, the process was very different this time. After our name was called, we were seated right away and told someone would come take our order. After about 10 minutes with no one stopping by, we had to go up and ask. They apologized and said they had forgotten, then came over to take our order. Food timing was also inconsistent. Some dishes--like the fried items and stir-fried jajangmyeon (black noodles)--came out quickly, while one of my friend's meat jajangmyeon arrived much later, after most of us had already finished eating. It's hard to say if the difference was due to how busy it was, since both visits were during peak hours. Food & ambiance: Despite the service issues on the second visit, the food portions were generous and the quality was great. The ambiance leans more toward a fast-casual style--order, eat, and go--rather than a relaxed, full sit-down dining experience. Overall: Even with the inconsistent service, I still enjoy the food and would come back. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it may have been an off day or newer staff still getting up to speed. First time for us to try this restaurant. Happy that this restaurant specializes more with noodles, as opposed to Korean BBQ. Not that I don't love that, but it's great to have a different option. So the menu is a bit limited, but what they do here is really good. We had the fried chicken wings and they were crispy, including the French fries. Really good! The noodle bowls were large, tasty---the one with the beef, rich snd flavorful broth. The seafood really tasted like fresh from the sea. The sweet sour looked beautiful and unique with the coating. This is the second location in the Seattle area with another location opening a couple years back in Bellevue. The Lynnwood location delivers the same menu but in a larger more open space in a strip mall with a larger more spacious parking lot. Went there with the fam and we tried the standards - Jjajangmyun, Jjamppong, mandu and Tangsooyuk. Overall, the food is similar to Bellevue. The noodle dishes were pretty good but not as good as places in BC.The sweet and sour pork was fried well, but had a slight after taste. The dumplings were really good with being crispy and a little chewy at the same time. Service is also the same as Bellevue - order at the counter and they will bring out the food. I love jjajangmyeon, but a restaurant that does it right is hard to come by in WA. My cousin and I have tried Paik's in Carrollton, TX and liked it there, so when we heard they were bringing one to Lynnwood we had to try it. There's plenty of free parking available in the lot as this location is in the same plaza as 85* degree bakery where the old GameStop used to be. Upon walking in, you should walk to the counter to place an order with the person there as there's no menus at the tables. The menus are instead projected on the TVs above the register or they one a physical copy too taped on the counter. Each item of food has a picture by it and you order then pay before you sit down. You can choose any table as they're all set up with water and utensils already. jjajangmyeon: we decided to order a bowl each and this was a smart decision because we were both pretty hungry. I think that if this is your main entree, get one each but you could definitely split it if you were ordering some other dishes as well. There was a healthy portion of noodles and they were more of the thicker side. I personally prefer thicker noodles because they hold the sauce better in my opinion, but my cousin prefers thinner ones. They have a good bounce to them and are chewy. The sauce itself had lots of beef, onions, and green peas inside. It wasn't too watery like other locations, but I did wish the black bean taste was stronger. It's more of a light taste, so I added vinegar & the red chilis on the table to enhance the flavoring which helped. soy garlic chicken: you can choose between 5 pieces or 10. We chose 5 and they were all pretty large pieces. It's a mix of bone in drums and flats, but fried very nicely. The meat was succulent. The batter wasn't thick at all and the sauce stuck to the chicken well. You could taste the garlic and hint of sweetness. The fries on the side were also very fresh. You can tell they fry them to order and had the perfect ratio of soft potato inside to crispy outside. I feel like the prices were pretty reasonable for the portion & quality of food. Everything was fresh and the staff were all very sweet! You take a number tag with you to your table so they can find you. The food all came out in about 10 minutes and they'll check in on you if everything's good, but leave you alone for the most part. There's many tables in the restaurant and they even have booths against the back wall for larger groups. I liked how spacious, open and clean the interior was. It's a very chill spot to come get a quick meal or catch up with friends. We saw lots of Asian grandmas and grandpas in there which is always a good sign :) I'd recommend & will be back. read more

Came here with some friends who know the show and had to give the celebrity restauranteur's spot a try. The dishes on the menu looked interesting at least, black bean noodles which can be hard to find around here. We got those and the wings, sweet and sour pork, almost half the menu really. Everything tasted like the kitchen was clean, good techniques, good ingredients, just bad recipes. Everything was a flavor and textural nightmare. The pork was basically dehydrated and I'm not even joking. They had cooked any juiciness completely out of it and you got concentrated dried pork and oil that was not a great experience. Everything else was pretty bland but nothing 'bad' per se. I came here knowing celebrity spots like these are usually disappointments so at least I set my expectations correctly. I may be willing to give it one more try and also had high hopes because my sisters took me to this chain in San Diego back in October last year and liked it a lot so I was looking forward to it! My husband and I ordered jjajangmyun, jjampong, and the sweet and sour pork. Everything tasted smokey and not in a good BBQ kind. I couldn't wrap my tastebuds around it but it was just smokey and also really black pepper-y. I don't understand why the sweet and sour pork was also sprinkled in black pepper from the looks of it. I'm usually not a jjampong person but the seafood portion was great at least. Both the noodles were more on the firmer side which I like mine softer and chewier. The sweet and sour pork, I appreciate the sauce being on the side and I know it can get kind of runny but 10 minutes in, it felt and looked like gelatin, kind of disturbing if I'm being honest. I love Paik's! One of the more solid chains I've been to so I was excited to see they opened in Lynnwood! It's a spot where you order at the counter and they give you a number to take to your table. We got the jjajeongmyeon and soontofu jjamppong which are my go-tos. Both really great! The noodles were perfectly cooked in both, and I especially liked adding the tofu into the jjamppong. I had a disappointing experience ordering from this Lynnwood location. We ordered three dishes, one of which was Jajangmyeon. After paying, we sat down and waited for our food. When the first dish arrived, it was Sweet & Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk). We were confused because we thought it might have been intended for another table. We pointed this out to the employee, but she insisted that it was what we had ordered. We explained that we had clearly ordered Jajangmyeon, but were told that they had already made the dish and there was nothing they could do. She then tried to justify it by saying that she had asked whether we wanted extra rice because Sweet & Sour Pork is often eaten with rice. Since we specifically wanted Jajangmyeon, we ended up ordering it separately, which meant paying for four dishes total, including one that we did not order. What was most frustrating was not the mistake itself, but how it was handled. If the order was entered incorrectly or misheard, I would have expected some effort to make it right. Jajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk sound completely different, so it was surprising that the mistake happened in the first place. Being told that nothing could be done simply because the food had already been prepared was disappointing. In my experience, most restaurants would try to correct an ordering mistake, especially when it appears to have happened on their end. I took my wife to Paik's Noodle for her birthday. First impression when you walk through the door, the establishment looks clean and hospitable. Paik is a famous chef in Korea, but they probably just use his name for the restaurant. I ordered the Jyajangmein. It had less pork than I expected. The flavor wasn't as deep as I would have liked it. There was a weird flavor tho that made my stomach feel uneasy afterwards. If you want good Jyajangmein I prefer Modoo Banjeom. Portion sizes are larger there and the flavors are deeper and more delicious. I didn't try their Jampong at Paik yet. read more
