Third update-so I've never done a third update, but I'm trying to be fair to this company. My nails did chip again after a few days, but when I called to cancel my next appointment, they were very concerned by the fact that the gel didn't work and even text me afterwards. I hate to blame them because I am rough on my hands(dishes etc) so I'm going to update my stars to a 3 just because of their concern. 2nd update- I wanted to update my review because when I called to cancel my next two appointments they said they had a 10 day guarantee on chips. So today I went in and they redid my nails and they look great. The girl that did my nails was actually very nice, friendly, and did a great job. The receptionist was a little snooty and acted like she was mad that I had to come back. She was the one that took off my old nail polish and was borderline rude. I will give an update how they last. Btw-this was supposed to be a free service and I used my debit card to leave the girl who did my nails a tip and I just noticed that the receptionist put a charge on there for fixing chip nails. I have been to this nail salon twice. The first time I got the $75 manicure with gel X nails. ($75 + $16 tip= $101) I was happy with them and they looked great, but they were very expensive.This time they just gave me a gel manicure and within two days my nails were chipping. I had told the girl that gel did not seem to adhere to just my nails- that I needed tips, but I guess there wasn't enough time scheduled. Definitely not worth $42 plus $8 tip= $50 read more

I got a manicure once when they first opened, but business has drastically increased so plan your appointment in advance! Angie was amazing in helping coordinate an appointment for the manicure and pedicure combo I was looking for with only 4 days notice. Adrianna was my nail tech and she was amazing -- my job is very hands-on and I'm a runner so both my fingernails and toenails are very short and I know (from experiences elsewhere) they can be challenging to work with. Always behind schedule by 10-15 minutes. Last Straw! The manager has the exact same complacency as the owner; no sense of urgency and completely unaware of customer service. At least 70% of the time I have shown up for a scheduled appointment, they are 10-15 minutes late. That, in and of itself, is bad enough but whoever is sitting at the counter makes no attempt to address the issue or get off their seat and find the manicurist! The manicurist comes out from the back, goes to the counter and goes to back room again, all while I am still waiting. No eye contact, no "we'll be with you in a minute"; no communication! I decide to address it with the mgr and asked why she just sat there and did not locate the manicurist; her answer: "I am the manager with a hundred things going on". I remind her that she was sitting at the counter with no customers and no phone calls. Still, she could not comprehend the priority of the client sitting there waiting, after she had checked me in 15 minutes prior! This salon is mediocre at best and I only come for dazzle dry...I'll find another salon that understands customer service. read more

My daughter and I went for Talk of the Town Manis and Pedis on a Friday afternoon. This was our first visit and I liked the atmosphere and the place seems clean and professional. We were seated next to each other which made for a nice shared experience. Wendy and Jada carried out our services very well, both were friendly and the whole experience was great. The services, their deluxe offerings, were quite a bit more expensive than our usual nail salon but since it included more steps with lotions, sugar scrub, massage and warm paraffin treatment it was a much superior service. They promise fast-drying polish (without endless drying under a fan) that lasts longer than most polishes. Time will tell (it was done 6 hours ago!) but I did not have any smudges even when I had to leave 5-10 minutes after the polish was applied. Been a minute since my first review, unfortunately my review has gone down. I have come here for brow waxes in the past and have been happy. I believe it was $18.00. I then noticed they had eye brow tinting which made me really happy! Having to fill in my eyebrows each day is so annoying and with an eyebrow tint - you get a break from doing this! I book online which is so easy and convenient. Pros - the service is great. The inside and decor is fresh, clean, and inviting. My eyebrows are always on point. I see Hannah and she is the best. Friendly and attentive. She takes her time on my brows and enhances my already brow shape. My eyebrow tint lasts about a month, maybe a bit more but I don't overly scrub or wash my brows when I have tint on to avoid fading. Place is always busy no matter the time or day. Definitely take up on the offer of a mimosa! Cons - nail prices have gone up. Used to be $38 for a gel mani and now it's $40. Most nail services went up $2-$3. I can't bring myself to pay $40 for a gel mani. I get it's in a higher social-economic area but $38 was already pretty steep already for me. Another con, my service never starts on time . Each time I have gone, it's about a 5-15 min wait before I get brought back. I find this very frustrating, especially when I am going during my lunch and want to get in and out. Parking - the parking structure is the best place to park. First hour is free! read more

Had a bad experience today. This wasn't my first bad experience here, but I thought everyone deserves a second chance. I had Megan, she barley spoke to me the entire time. Never asked if I needed anything, which the other nail techs next to me were asking their clients over and over if they needed anything.. Once she started my nails, she barley filed them. They were all rough around the edges. Then she started to paint them- I got a shellac manicure. The shellac polish was put on so thick it now has bubbles under the paint. The whole manicure was only 28 minutes. I felt it was VERY rushed. Once I was done the receptionist asked how my experience was, I stated "eh just okay" and she blew it off and asked me when I would like to schedule my next appointment. I was upset she didn't ask further why it was just okay.. I have sent an email regarding my visit and haven't received anything back. I plan to call my bank and dispute charges. Please avoid this place. I will never be back and will let my friends know who wanted to try it. read more

I called the morning my cat I have had for 15 years passed away and asked if they could cancel my appointment. They were super friendly on the phone and told me not to worry about it. That I can just reschedule online another time. I looked at my bank account later that day, and they charged me for the entire service. I assumed it was a mistake and that they were understanding of my emergency. The following day, I made an appointment and then called and told them what had happened. They told me, "Oh, sorry- we charge if a cancellation is less than 24 hours". My cat that I've had for half my life passed; I was told it wasn't a problem and not to worry about it, but you charge me $70 anyway? Keep your money and your terrible morals. Very cute nail salon and very clean as well! They offer you a drink when you come in which was very nice( mimosa, wine, water, coffee, tea) and also complimentary. The staff was warm and inviting which I've never experienced. The only thing I have to say is that it is very expensive for what you get. I got a pedicure-they don't give you a foot or leg massage, water where you put your feet went cold pretty quick- it was vey basic. They just cut and painted my toe nails. It is a nice place if you are looking to treat yourself, just be prepared to spend some money. read more

There is nothing more demeaning than spending over $100 to leave a salon looking like a festering cesspool. A day for self love turned into my biggest regret. To properly "paint" the scene, I went in for a soak-off (calcium dip), and a gel mani pedi. Cute, clean salon. Dont be deceived. The receptionist was kind and efficient. She brought us the nail polish swatches and assured us there was a matching polish for any of the choices. She then summoned our techs while we chose a color. Everything was going smoothly until the soak off process. I expressed that i was getting my dips off because i was excited about my natural nails being so long now. Almost immediately after this comment, the tech began aggressively and haphazardly snapping off my nails at my finger tips. Its was seriously traumatic. Aside from my nails looking like a calluse pipe fitters would, I was hoping shed at the very least shape them symmetrically and cleanly. Alas, she painted the freshly snapped off mangled nails and sent me on my way with globby jagged paws. And get this... the polish on my fingers DONT even match my toes. Even though i kept saying to the tech "this is the worst my nails have ever looked" and "ugh this is depressing" she never tried to make it right. I would recommend looking to Troy for your upscale salon needs, where they sincerely care about how your nails leave the salon, rather than aloofly assaulting your wallet. Im disturbed. read more

Absolutely in love with this place! This is a big step above your average nail salon. It's very cozy, bright inside, and doesn't have the smell of from the polish/fumes. The staff is very friendly and the place is very clean. I worked with Kat and she was great and so very kind! Their chairs are very comfortable and super cushiony. I also was offered some hot tea. Everything they use is better for you... no chemicals. Even their gel... it doesn't ruin your nails like the shellac. I look forward to going back! DO NOT get your nails done here. Horrible experience. The secretary (maybe owner??) has the worst energy I have ever felt. I walked out with 2 broken nails, no polish because I was mortified at how my removal process was being handled, and charged $120 for broken nails and a pedicure. The only positive from the experience was Mesi the pedicure artist. I hope she removes her energy from there soon. read more

From the moment I walked into this lovely and bright space, I knew I'd love it! The color choices were great and did not smell like chemicals as is characteristic of most nail salons. The complimentary mimosa certainly added to the experience. The place was clean, and the owner Angie is so welcoming. I was given a lovely white soft blanket to snuggle into during the pedicure which further added to the relaxation. The only thing missing for me was a bit longer of a massage. I don't remember if it was included or not in the uptown girl pedi but it lasted about 30 seconds or so when the treatment was massaged into my skin. So clean and cute, feels like a luxury experience! I love that everything they use is individually packaged so none of the files or buffers are used from client to client. I've gotten gel manicures here a couple of times and always been satisfied. Great color selection and I felt comfortable going here even when I was pregnant because their polishes aren't full of harmful chemicals so the fumes aren't unsafe! One minor drawback-I will say from my experience the polish lasts a few days less than a traditional gel, but it's still worth it for the health benefits! And if you call they will get you in for a repair on any nails that aren't lasting at least a week. read more

I was so excited to try this place based on their positive reviews and how nice the salon looks. Sadly, I had a horrible experience. I had on gel polish that needed to be removed. After the soak, the technician just went to town filling off the polish.. along with half my cuticles. I repeatedly asked her to be more gentle, which she would for a moment and then go back to filing off my skin! I was literally in tears and did not even stay to have a new manicure because it was too painful. The icing on the cake was the repeated emails and text messages that I received after my appointment asking to book my next appointment or rate my experience. Adorable interior, feels clean. The receptionist was rude and never cracked a smile, throughout the whole hour plus I was there and saw her interact with other customers as well as me. Lots of communication errors with this place yet I've gone multiple times wanting to give it a chance. They never seem to have what I requested for my appointment written down correctly. Booked a mani for my 8 year old daughter, wrote a note when booking that we wanted nail art. Was told we should have specified elaborate nail art- even though there is no option for that on the website when booking a mini- mani. Had my daughter sitting there for one hour, only to do two nails With art. An elaborate nail art with gel has 1 hour and 15 minutes allowed. And a regular polish ( no mani) with only two nail arts on each hand done takes one whole hour? Absolutely not acceptable. When we checked out the lady was even surprised we had only done two nails with art, considering we sat there for an hour. And the other associate trying saying "the table was getting bumped so she had to redo a couple nails." Where is the accountability? My daughter didn't move for one hour! I really enjoyed the ambiance of the nail salon. Everything was clean and tidy. I was greeted immediately and did not have to wait. I had made an appointment for a manicure and heard great things about the LED lights for the gel. I had a great experience with Madison and was in and out quickly. Three days later, I had a chip in my nail. I was concerned because I could see some lifting on almost all of my nails (I had a very light color put on), but I figured nothing else chipped, so I was fine with just fixing one. I called and made an appointment to get it repaired (they have a 10 day guarantee) and was offered an appointment the same day. Rachel quickly fixed my nail and I was happy! Two days later... TWO more nails chipped. I know that I can call and make an appointment to get it fixed (I'm within my 10 day guarantee), but I'm really disappointed I've had this many issues within a week of receiving the service.
