My very first experience was great. When I walked in, the front receptionist asked me for the necessary items, and once I signed all of my paperwork, I saw Mike. He assessed my injury and asked me a lot of questions. He gave me the option to start physical therapy right away or come back in a week or two. His staff were very friendly, multiple girls came over to check on me and made sure I was doing okay. They rotated my exercises and guided me through everything. After I was pretty much done, Mike came back to assess my foot further and explained that I would need to keep coming back for treatment of course. read more

Where this doctor's office is located, it is a little confusing on how to find it, but thank goodness for Google. You can see the front of the building driving down Truxtun, but the sign is hidden by trees! I called on a Friday, and they were able to get me in that following Monday. The receptionist was very kind, I filled out my registration forms and paid my co payment all on their tablet, and I was called back pretty quickly. My physical therapist was straight to the point, I felt as if he had been doing this for many years. He knew what he was doing. He was very thorough, which i appreciated. I was approved for a few more sessions, and they were able to book me for those appointments right then and there. They knew of my work schedule, so they did inform me they open at 7am, and I believe they are open till 7pm. I'm really hoping for a positive experience of my future visits, I shall see. read more

I recently visited this facility three times, and while the place itself is fine, my only complaint is about the front desk staff. Specifically, the lady with arm tattoos and glasses left a very negative impression. Each time I walked in, she looked annoyed, as if she didn't want to be there. Her demeanor was unwelcoming, and she appeared unprofessional, almost like she had just rolled out of bed. This kind of attitude makes the patient experience unpleasant and does not reflect well on the facility. I hope management takes note, because front desk staff set the first impression, and in this case, it was a bad one. Not to mention I was referred to them Nov & they didn't give me an appointment till the last day my referral was valid & when I show 5 mins late they turned me down tell me to reschedule for the following week when I get to my rescheduled appointment the lady at the front tells me that the referral is expired and that her coworker FORGOT to ask for an extension so I couldn't get seen. "I had an appointment scheduled at Pair & Marotta Physical Therapy on 01/14/26 at 4:00 PM. When I arrived, I was told my appointment had been canceled, and the front desk employee could not explain why. I was extremely upset and frustrated, especially after rushing from work to make it there on time. While a text message was sent about the cancellation, I believe the office should have also called me directly, with my job I don't check my phone often. Showing up for an appointment only to be turned away without answers is very disappointing and unacceptable. I was rescheduled, but the next available appointment isn't until February 11th, meaning I now have to wait another month for care I need. Because of this experience, suppose I will be looking for another physical therapy office. read more

First off the place is worn out. Old carpets and chairs. Does not feel clean. Also really crowded waiting room and cramped in the pt area 15 visits and not once did I see anyone wiping down equipment. The staff is knowledgeable and caring and the masseuse is amazing. There was an issue with our insurance...so I call to speak to Craig and see if he could explain the problem and he was a DICK!! First time to this location. Needed to meet with PT therapist first so they brought me to a room and told me sit in this nasty chair to wait. The front desk staff not friendly or helpful, very robotic or procedure driven. This location seems less sanitary than the panama location. The therapist assistants (black shirt staff) don't seem very enthusiastic to be helping you either. If I didn't really need this PT I probably wouldn't choose this location by choice. The actual licensed Physical Therapist (Asian) very detailed and helpful, very through. He was only thing good about the place and his therapy treatment was very suitable and seemed to be working better by time I left. I was there about 2 hours. Hours 7-7 Monday, Wednesday, Friday which is helpful when you work full time and can only come after 5pm. read more

If only we could give 0 stars! My daughter was referred to them in July, and we tried over and over to schedule an appointment with them (for over a month). They are completely unreachable by phone, they don't answer, and if you are lucky enough to get through, the call goes straight to voicemail, not that you'll get a return call if you leave a message. In the 4 weeks that we tried over and over to reach them, we left numerous voicemail messages, and they only once, ever, returned a call. At that point it was right before they closed, so as soon as I got the message and called them back, of course it went straight to voicemail again. We have never been able to schedule therapy with them due to their total incompetence. Today, months later, we received a letter stating that they've been trying to reach us to schedule her therapy. The folks at Pair & Marotta Physical Therapy on Truxton Ave. took good care of my Dad. He went there for several weeks (3 times a week) for physical therapy on his back. All the Physical Therapists were patient with my Dad which I appreciated cause he can be very stubborn at times. He still uses the exercises they taught him which is great. It's really hard to rate this place because I guess I'm going off of the staff. Everyone is really nice and helpful and friendly. They have you at their best interest. I do know that they help some people and they might've helped me a little bit but I guess I was expecting to be back to how I was when I leave there. But who am I kidding I'm old!! 47 is gonna feel like 47. I have two more sessions there with my shoulder and I think the thing that was helping my shoulder the most was the laser treatments. I absolutely love pair and Marotta. I know that sounds weird to love your physical therapy place but I do. They take really good care of me here. I usually work with Linda who is really sweet and always encouraging me and lifting my spirits when I feel a little bit down about my injury. In fact I feel like the whole staff here is pretty good at that. I overhear A lot of the workers being very encouraging to the patients. Being injured is hard... so it really helps having a caring team. I really like Mickey(I probably spelled that wrong) she's really nice. I also really like Greg he had to fill in for Linda while she was gone and he was really nice. There's so many people who work there that are really nice and I don't know their names right now but I'm going to get them when I go in tomorrow, And I am going to post them on here. Over the years I had been treated at the Oswell location for various post surgery treatments. I found the facility to be clean and well equipped for my needs. The staff members are highly qualified and personable. Currently I am undergoing PT for my sciatic nerve pain, which has been managed effectively. I had 2 surgeries on my knee and went to here for a session of physical therapy. The Physical Therapist wrote my exercises on a sticky note for her assistant (who lost the sticky note) and took off to get lunch. One of the exercises felt very unsafe. The assistant had me laying down on my back and sliding my leg down the wall. MIND YOU I had zero muscle control in my leg 2 weeks out of surgery and my leg isn't supposed to bend past 90 degrees. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. I felt like the staff hadn't given me a safe exercise and was very impersonal (writing my exercises on a sticky note, not explaining any of the exercises to me). I feel like they were just filling the time and didn't really care if I was getting a safe and effective session. Very glad im at a new place where it's more personal and comfortable. read more

This place has gone down hill. It's dirty, the carpet is discusting. The pool is dirty and the grout is coming out from between the tiles. The dressing rooms and shower are dirty. The showers look like they havn't been cleaned in a very long time. My doctor wanted me to go for 6 weeks but I won't be going back. I was supposed to be getting a half an hour message as ordered by my doctor. But I am really only getting a 7 to 10 minute message. But my insurance is paying them for the full half hour. When I asked the message therapist about this she said she doesn't have the time to do it. There is another girl, but she isn't very good. So I am not going to be going back. I came to Pair and Marotta thinking I was going to get the same kind of treatment that I had received at another physical therapy company in Bakersfield which was like going to a gym by myself. Much to my utter surprise, my treatments were really great at Pair and Marotta. Mike Marotta pretty much zeroed in on what was most concerning to me and slowly added exercises for strengthening and measured my progress. Prior to going there I had to alternately ice and then hot water soak my arm on my breaks in order to finish my shifts. My arm is better but I still think something is wrong inside my arm. Pair and Marotta did all they could to make it feel better to where I can work better without soaking my arm at breaks. I only was allowed six sessions but the treatments all maximized all of the time spent. The hot pack treatments were an amazing treat in itself, but it didn't stop there. How about a massage with trigger points at the exact spot where there was aching. HEAVEN. If that isn't all, then there was something called myofascial release MFR. Magically this helped to relieve pain also and slept like a baby for several days after treatments. Sadly, I have no more treatments and the pain is returning; however, Mike gave me exercises with pictures on how to do them at home. I really want to return to P&M and I can't wait to get in their Olympic sized pool to learn aquatic water therapy and exercises so that I can learn what to do at home in my own pool. read more

My son went here for physical therapy for his wrist. He had surgery and after getting the cast off was sent to Pair & Marotta. Today was his last session and his wrist is doing great. Leslie was extremely professional and just a pleasure to talk to. She was amazing with my son (he's only 7). She was extremely professional and caring. Angel was also a pleasure to talk to. Horrible. The clinic cannot answer simple billing questions and the billing center they direct you to cannot answer any questions about the clinic or the insurance coverage (when I called the insurance and verified they have access). You get the run around. Apparently, they dont submit your claim until the last day you visit. So, you have no clue how much your insurance actually covers until you get a bill in the mail. The actual physical therapist saw me once when I got there and once on my last visit when she said "oops, I forgot to see you. Well, looks you don't get any more visits. Sorry." Hopefully, the there is a better place to go to in town because I do not recommend this place. The massage ladies are greats and the assistants. Everyone else, no!
