We eat here at least once per week. The Paisano's Stromboli is the best! I think a lot of the people complaining about the pizza crust would probably love the stromboli. I travel a lot and have had pizza all over the country. Here, the crust is a heavier crust than other restaurants in the area, sort of a Sicilian style, so those who like a thin crust, or NY style, may not like it. Our trip to Paisanos was dissappointing. We started our dinner by ordering garlic bread. What we got was half of a 8" sub roll cut in half. The bread was barely buttered and only a hint of garlic. We did notice that it had been broiled to the point of almost being dry. Two four inch pieces of bread $2.25. We ordered a specialty pizza. The pie itself had a crust that was not a yeasty raised homemade crust, but one that seemed to be pre-formed or pre-made. It was dry with no taste. It tasted like a flour, water, and salt type recipe. It was not one of the better pizzas to be had in this area. Also, the pizza looked like it had been whipped together as some of the toppings weren't on all pieces uniformly. The other thing that was annoying. The clean up lady kept bringing her cart in between our table and others to clean other tables. I do not want to sit in a restaurant next to a bunch of garbage while I am trying to eat. Our server came to our table to only to perform the necessities. She did not check on us after food was served or anytime during our meal. She came to bring the check and suggest a box. This place is a treat in Duncan, SC. I've been several times all after a swim meet with a number of other families and nobody has every done anything but compliment the food and service we received here. I went in to order and asked if they had veggie lasagna. The girl at the register asked another woman who asked the cook. The register and kitchen are close enough to hear. They said they could make it, told her how to ring it up, and how to charge me - $10.49 + $1.50 for the veggies. That's fine. She rings it up, I make sure to say with no meat. She said so you just want marinara? Yes, I don't eat meat. Get the food $47 total and drive 20 mins home. Well, there is meat in the lasagna. I called back and just requested a refund for the lasagna. The girl who answered said the first one must have misunderstood what I asked for... ok would still like a refund. She was nice, I was nice. She asked me to hold on. Some loud, rude guy comes on the phone, no idea who he is, and says they don't make veggie lasagna. I told him what happened. He said you may have called the one in Greenville. No, I ordered inside the restaurant. Just asking for a refund for the lasagna, everything else was fine. Again, yelling loud enough that my husband hears him clearly from across the room, tells me they don't make veggie lasagna and if I want to bring in the lasagna, he will give me a cash refund. I'm not driving 20 mins for $12. I hope the $12 is worth losing a customer over. Such poor customer service!! read more

First time eating here the other day and the food was fabulous! I had the all meat stromboli and it was better than any other I've had previously. Also, our server was quite humorous. I was torn between the stromboli and a salad. She remembered, asked me how I liked it. When I told her it was great, she says "And you almost had a salad...they're for girls!" After reading some reviews on here about Paisanos some good and some bad I decided to take a first time visit because some people just don't give a good review no matter how good it was. First of all I got there about 7:15pm right near closing so I thought this may be a mistake since the employees wants to get out and go home. The waitress came right over and greeted me so nicely and asked me what she could get for me. I placed my order of Lasagna, Salad, Onion Rings and Tea. I thought to myself since I'm so late in the day I'm going to get the bottom of the barrel food. Boy was I fooled, ALL the food was so nicely cooked fresh and hot and it was outstanding. I was not rushed to get finished and the waitress was so nice and courteous every time she came to the table. Next time I'm in town I will definitely be back!!! I recommend everyone not to read the bad reviews and go and give this place a try because you will not be disappointed!!! 5 stars across the board in my book!!!! read more

I have eaten here numerous times before and would have stated it was a positive experience. However, this week has ruined my impression of this restaurant. I was with a group of people, of which we notified them of 2 weeks in advance. I have never encountered such rudeness at a restaurant in my life. I tried to speak to the manager to sort out the seating situation, but unfortunately the experience only worsened. He was extremely disrespectful when speaking with me, and told me if we didn't like it we could leave! We certainly did leave and I will never be back! The worst place I've ever eaten! Won't say restaurant, more like a hospital inside. I ordered a gyro and it was horrible, you could see and taste it's made from processed meats. I ordered a Greek salad and was very disappointed with the salad. The only thing good about the salad was the dressing. There was only half a slice of tomato, and one slice of cucumber in the salad with maybe a teaspoon of feta, no kidding! So cheap! Almost all the tables around us, people left with their food uneaten. I would not recommend this place at all to anyone! A huge disappointment! Since moving to the area, we have sampled most of the restaurants around us. We decided on Paisanos since it was one of the last restaurants for us to try. We were seated within a minute of arriving. We were immediately greeted and our beverage choices were taken. The waitress came to take our order and offered suggestions which we took. The food arrived quickly. I got the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and broccoli, and my husband got the lasagna. The food was mediocre. The alfredo sauce was bland and tasted like thickened half and half milk. There was no cheese in it. I tried to 'doctor it up', but was unable to make it too much more appetizing. I love the dish and have had some of the best from around the country. This tasted like the kind you get out of a jar or what is served at non-Italian restaurants. The 'garlic bread' was 1/2 a loaf of toasted, buttered bread with a little parsley sprinkled on top. I should have gone with my first choice of a cheesesteak sandwich. Lesson learned: not all Italian restaurants can make Italian dishes! read more

Have been to this place ten or so times. My wife always gets the pizza and loves it. I usually get the Greek combo (the pork souvlaki is very good). However, this time it was like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares wherein the lady owner had an offended meltdown because my Wife said the pizza was not good this time. She was so unprofessional that we were left speechless when she said everything from "you must not have ever had pizza before" to "I don't care if you come back" to "we are not going to blackmail her"......LMAO.....We don't even know where her last comment came from as we were not trying to get out of paying. She was a trip, reminiscent of the Kitchen Nightmare owner meltdowns--- wherein the owner is rude and uncaring of a customers concern or expression of a complaint. She just bellowed that she has the best pizza in town and that all their food is amazing. Funny as the hot wings we tried 6 of tonight as an appetizer were frozen and dry. Funnier still, the fact that one of there employees told us tonight that the wings are frozen, as is the chicken parm, the eggplant parm, and the veal parm.....unreal but this is the best food around???? We have enjoyed certain things on their menu, but after tonight's crap from the female owner, her undeserved arrogance, and totally unprofessional rudeness, we will never go back. I will NEVER eat there again. I ordered a pizza and drove 20 miles to get it. Only to get home and find that the dough was still raw and chewy. I called and spoke with a lady who said that they would replace it for me free of charge the next time I ordered. Well, the next time I called to order, the owner/manager told me that I never got a raw pizza and that I was lying. NEVER EVER have I been so disrespected by a company. I am 9 months pregnant and wanted their delicious pizza but will never eat there again because of the way I was treated. So, to start out I want to brag on the company a little. Being in the food and beverage industry for the past 6 years I expect a few things from a restaurant. That being said the restaurant was exceptionally clean. We had a short platinum blond haired waitress who was incredible. We also had the baked spaghetti with meats sauce which was indescribably delicious. Food was priced really well for the portion. So, up until we paid we would've given this place 5 stars. No doubt about it. We knew we had found our new spot for Italian food. So, we're ready to pay and we walk up to the register. When I tell you this lady RUINED our entire experience. She was INSANELY rude. She didn't acknowledge that we were there. She continued counting her drawer (understandable the you can't count money and talk at the same time, so I let that go, 3-4 minutes of standing there 1 ft away from her). When she finally gets done slinging papers around and slinging a notebook down behind her she looks at our receipt and says "are you ready?". no shit. So, she takes it out of my hand and we ask to split the bill which she scoffs about but does. She places the receipt down in front of me to sign. She then places the second receipt down for the person with me to sign but instead of placing it in front of her she places it in front of me. She had the demeanor of a person who hated their job. The person I was with had been there once before and she warned me this would be the worst part of the experience because this same lady was rude to her about a week back. I assumed that everyone has their bad days and maybe it'd be different. I couldn't believe with all of the positivity happening in that place that she was allowed to be so extremely rude to paying customers. I don't know if her family owns the place or what but if they know what's best for their company they will rid her of that position. She didn't ask how our meal was and made us feel as though we were bothering her. I don't normally do things like this. I just made this yelp account to complain about this one girl. THAT is how rude she was. IF I come back I will request that my waitress take the payment so I don't have to interact with this miserable human. I pray the owner sees this.
