Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. No complaints at all about what came out of the kitchen. Now... the rest of the experience. We were seated about 30 minutes after our reservation time, which on Valentine's Day I understand can happen. It's busy. It's high volume. But when you take reservations, there's an expectation that timing is at least somewhat respected. Then we were placed at a table about 18 inches from a side door. I'm not exaggerating when I say if I moved my arm out even slightly, I hit the wall. The table next to us was less than two feet away. On a night that's supposed to feel intimate, it felt cramped and rushed. Not romantic. Not relaxed. Just tight. It honestly felt like too many reservations were accepted for the space available. I get maximizing a holiday, but there has to be a balance. Capping reservations and planning seating a little better would've made a big difference in the overall experience. Again, the food? Strong. The atmosphere that night? Way too packed for comfort. If the seating had matched the quality of the kitchen, it would've been a top-tier Valentine's dinner. I reached out directly to the restaurant and after my email was read numerous times between now and then with no response, I am leaving this review.

The restaurant has…read morea warm, casual, family friendly atmosphere with a cozy roadhouse vibe that makes it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal. The location is convenient with plenty of parking, making it an easy spot to visit. The food was a bit of a mixed experience. The sautéed mushrooms were delicious, full of flavor, and one of our favorite sides. The warm buttered rolls were soft, fresh, and definitely a highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the coconut shrimp was a little too salty for our taste. We let our server know, and she immediately had a fresh order made for us, which we really appreciated. The salmon also wasn't our favorite because the top tasted overcooked or slightly burnt from the seasoning, as shown in the photo. Despite those issues, we chose not to mention the salmon because our server had already gone above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She was genuinely kind, attentive, and checked on us throughout our meal. To top it off, the restaurant surprised us with a complimentary birthday dessert, which made the celebration feel even more special. While the food had a few misses, the outstanding service and welcoming atmosphere made the experience worthwhile. The staff's hospitality is what we'll remember most, and we hope to come back and try more of the menu in the future.

The drinks came out fast and were HUGE!! In the big mugs. Definitely quenched your thirst. The non alcoholic ones looked so flirty so I had to get one. The chicken fried steak was absolutely fantastic--perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and smothered in delicious gravy. It was everything you want in a classic comfort dish and then some. I really liked the steamed veggies that it came with. 10/10. I also tried the turkey club on Ciabatta bread, which was equally outstanding. Loaded with fresh ingredients, it was flavorful, hearty, and super filling--definitely satisfied my craving! 10/10 It was busy for a hot Sunday which I didn't expect. The service was still excellent! Portions are generous, the atmosphere is lively and family-friendly (love the peanut shells on the floor touch), and everything came out hot and fresh. Whether you're craving steaks, comfort food, or a solid sandwich, Jimmy Mac's delivers. If you're in Federal Way, do yourself a favor and stop by. I'll definitely be back soon!

That aside, and parking lot aside, Black Bear Diner is a great restaurant. Had great interaction with the manager when came here the first time. Like the decor, can tell it's industrialized but not like most chain restaurants. Layout is nice as well, enjoy mural and pictures/ paintings on the wall. The food is very good, large portion sizes for price. Our waitress is very experienced and attentive with a heavy thick accent. Overall very nice time except for initial seating. Deserving of five stars. Wound up getting a brownie to go but NOT because of the brief interlude. Had mind made up prior to entering.

Fruit bowl- mangled and discolored alike spoilage or bug damage, orange looked preplated and dried up in a fridge and toss onto a plate. Strawberries crushed flat under the weight of the melon and cantaloupe piled on top of them. Basic plating -- heavy fruit doesn't go on top of delicate fruit. The prep was inconsistent across the board. Potato chunks bigger than the bell peppers and onions in the same dish. Uneven cuts don't cook evenly and it shows. Flavor was worse than the presentation. The gravy was flour and water with no meat base. The steak breakfast special came with an oversized, bread-like biscuit, no butter or fat to it, and the steak had an off taste I couldn't get past. I ate the eggs and potatoes and left the rest. The huckleberry tea tasted spoiled -- someone should check it. There's also a lot of visible food waste here, which usually comes from a menu that's too big to execute well. My honest take: cut the menu down and focus on doing fewer things at a high level. Smaller menu, less waste, better consistency. I wanted to like this place. The quality just isn't there yet.

I will say I am glad we celebrated their birthday here. The person on the phone that took my reservation for a party of 8 made the process seamless, and met his promise of having balloons and decorations, and two high chairs for my sons ready when we arrived. We all showed up at our reserved time and was greeted by a smiling hostess and it was a brief (less than 5 minutes) wait before we got seated. We were then waited on by Sherri, who was very attentive and provided us an excellent customer experience by ensuring our table had enough bread and beverage at all times, as well as ensuring the food we ordered met our expectations. Servers like Sherri is one of the main reasons why Black Angus has loyal customers! Now the most important part, the food was excellent. My brother and I are huge steak fans and frequently go to Seattle Metropolitan Grill, Melrose, and Asaderos, and we were both blown away by the ribeye and porterhouse we ordered. It was moist, tasty, and pricing was awesome. The rest of our party share the same sentiment for their steaks (my mom also loved her lobster tails) and we all plan to come back for Father's Day. I also highly recommend ordering the Brussels sprouts appetizer, yum! Ambiance was nice and the place was very clean. Shout out to the tall manager for also ensuring our satisfaction, and a big thank you to Sherri for all your hard work and making our birthday celebration memorable!

We were out celebrating my buddy's birthday today, and started out next door for some smokes and drinks. I had a plan for some choices for his bday dinner, and he opted with Ms. Jane's inside BJ's Casino. First off... this place is very elegant with a fine dining experience. Secondly, Cassandra was absolutely superb!! We all thoroughly had an amazing experience, from the drinks, appetizers, to our entrees, and the service. The Lavender Martini was top notch, and we also ordered the White Mojito. That mojito was crisp and refreshing! Two spectacular cocktails. As for our meals, undeniably unbelievable!! I ordered the 12oz. Ribeye, with Garlic Potatoes and crisp Broccolini. So crisp and a unique almost vinaigrette flavoring, with a subtle spice. As a side, we ordered the Thousand Layer Potato. My first time ever having this, but seen how it was made on a video. Simply divine. My wife ordered the Braised Bison over Polenta, with some Carrots. This is the tastiest Bison we've ever had!! We finished the evening with a Dubai Chocolate Fudge Sunday, and Cassandra gave us each a spoon to share in this decadence. Needless to say, my buddy had an incredible day of celebration! Thank you for this wonderful experience! As always, Enjoy & Happy Birthday, Wazowski!

I have been seeing this highly rated restaurant for a while and my husband wanted to check it out…read moreon a Sunday, so we made a reservation and they took us right away. We were the only people in the dining room for lunch the entire time until our last 10 mins. This restaurant is inside a casino in Fife. Parking is interesting, and the casino itself is in the middle of a reno so it looks a bit messy but otherwise it is fine. Kudos to them for trying to make the outside section nice because the view kind of kills it. Pros - it's a very nicely designed space. The hostess and our waitress were so nice and welcoming, even giving me a stool for my bag (and it wasn't even my fanciest bag lol!) Overall, the restaurant is nice, the food seems to be mostly fresh and good quality and service was nice. I actually quite enjoyed my ribeye, despite our broccolinni having no almonds, as stated on the menu. My affogato was good, and the cake frosting and flavors were good. Cons - I say these with love...but we both feel the kitchen was not up to par, or the main chef was off, or something happened because there were quite a few mishaps during our visit. The appetizers were good, but the scallops needed salt and I would not pair them with pineapple, personally. The calamari weren't the most tender, and the breading was interesting - it's definitely not your typical breading, it suited a fish and chips dish better. The sweet and spicy sauce served with it is from trader Joe's...I know because I've bought it before, so I don't believe it's house made. Like I previously stated, the broccolinni was missing the almonds, and the carrots on the side that I ordered for $13 were so embarrassing that the waitress came back after serving us and told us that she spoke to the manager and got those off our bill. That's how ridiculous they were, so thank you to her for having good values at work. While I liked my steak, it was very, very fatty, and my husband asked for medium rare and definitely got medium well. Lastly, the pink champagne cake was disappointing, not because it was yucky, but because the cake itself was clearly days old, and had been freshly frosted. It was tough, dry and stale, while the frosting was fresh and light. Overall, I can see coming back but I'm in no rush due to the price/location/overall food.
