Very interesting place. The menu is limited and apparently changes daily (so it's not listed online). I'm vegetarian and didn't think they had any options for me. However, the guy was very friendly and suggested the bowl and to leave out the seafood. Surprisingly he gave me the food for a discounted price. I honestly had no idea what I was ordering. The bowl was awesome. The grains and veggies were cold which I wasn't expecting. I don't usually like cold food like this, but it was awesome. Great flavors and seemed like it was also healthy. I love this place! First, it is such a clean, cute spot. The inside is simple and rustic, while also being inviting. The staff is what makes it for me. Everyone is so great, always helpful and genuinely making sure you are happy with the food. The menu is always changing, which is a good thing. It shows that the owner and chef are seeking out the best, freshest ingredients of the moment. I am SO impressed by the quality of the ingredients. You are getting what you pay for. Be mindful when going, truly fresh, quality food comes with a higher price point. Also, the portions are quality over quantity, so don't expect huge portions from the Olive Garden. Ha! I just recently went when they had marcona almonds, sausage and polenta, steak sandwiches, and always some amazing cheese. Love that they have wines by the glass! I would love to see an unchilled red wine option. It's hot as hell outside, but I love an unchilled red. I'm really confused by the stellar reviews. I had the shrimp bowl and the cold grains with the hot shrimp really threw me off. Best new restaurant in Phoenix, in my opinion. The quality of ingredients is rarely seen in Phoenix and you can immediately taste this quality in the food. I had a seemingly simple Polenta that came expertly seared with a small green salad grown in their back yard. Sweet, creamy, crunchy, savory all at once. Incredible. I then moved to a simple lentil soup with homemade croutons and finished with a splash of the best olive oil you can find. Rich yet light with incredible depth. Charming little restaurant. Good for lunch and nice patio. They offer wine and local beers. Food is pricey, but high quality. Claudio is a genius. Who would think that a chef with his talent could also have such an eye for design. Friday night, my husband and I were looking for a place to enjoy "healthish but delicious kind of food" we have a doggie so called in advanced to check if they had a doggie friendly patio. They do, so extra points for that. We got two dishes that were told by the cashier were good potion for two people. Got the" Navarro salad with halibut "and also the "polenta with squid and sausage". We are not the quantity is quality kind of people, and prefer to spend the extra money to order enough food and not end up like we need to grab a snack at home, so we trusted the cashiier Navarro salad was flavorless. I thought it was weird that the grains on the salad portion of the dish were cold and that the Halibut was warm. I would have expect it to be one tempeture but that's maybe just me. When I say flavorless I mean not something like it can be fix with salt or hot sauce, it was just plain flavor, zero depth. None of us enjoyed it. The other dish for the contrary was actually pretty good. Sausage was slightly spicy, polenta was crispy and the squid was cooked perfectly, was not chewy, and it has this tomato sauce that was well seasoned. Definitely would order again if I ever come back, but most likely I won't, and this is why: Place is super cute and clean but I need the fans at least in the patio, my poor doggie and we were sweating at 8 pm. Sure, next time I would not bring my doggie , but prices are very high for what you get. Navarro salad is 25 dls. Portion is medium even for me ( 120 lb woman) and the squid dish even though was very good, was tiny, and cost over 20 dls. You also are expected to clean up your plate after you're done, even though you're paying 20 dls + per dish. Not happy about it read more

Every element of the menu that we sampled brought a new savory experience. It was upon the staff's advice that we started with boutique crackers, traditional cheeses, roasted almonds and green olives. Each was created in a craft and had a story to inspire. We took time savoring the flavors and basking in the joy of sampling the epitome of ingredients. Especially enjoyable was the house made sausage made with house-grown seasonings. Amazing, love having this in the neighborhood literally 5 minute walk from my house can smell the fire from my porch. Amazing service wine selection was amazing (wine provided by garage east). Good food, but I do not agree with the reviewers who said the prices are reasonable here. Not at all. I went with a colleague from work, enjoyed the food, but left hungry and with a bill of $30 for lunch (for two). That would be OK if you were getting a full meal, but we only had a shared appetizer and a little bowl of olives, and two glasses of water. It's a nice clean place, obviously put together with love by the chef, and the menu is very unique. So it's kind of an experience. But being that when you go out to eat a quick lunch from an office you can't be spending $15 each or more daily, we'll stop here only on occasion where special events are taking place. Drop the price 20%, or fill me up a bit better, and I'd be back three times a week. read more
