Firstly the food here is delicious, the reason for my 3 stars review is they are SO CHEAP with the shrimp. This bowl was $16 and they only put 6 small shrimp- look at the HUGE thing of sauce they give, like for what!? You didn't even put 1/2 lb. You'd be WAYYY better off getting 1 lb of peel and eat shrimp and just doing it that way. Now I know for future, it all tasted delicious, I'm just still hungry- such a little amount of shrimp. I'll NEVER order this again!!!

Fried fish is my favorite and I was pleased to try Angry Crab Shack for the first time while in Arizona. I ordered online, the price was reasonable and the staff were friendly. Plenty of outside and indoor seating. Family friendly. The meal itself was delicious. Catfish tasted fresh and not slimy. The highlight was the sauce, I believe I had the Cajun mayo sauce. It was perfect. You get one fillet of fish so I would not recommend to share, but this was a great restaurant. Thank you

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and was seated right away for a table of one. Service was prompt from the front door to my server Nita. I tried the lemon blossom drink which was sweet and flavorful just how I like my drinks. Main choice was the king crab and I added 1/2 lb shrimp without the head, 1 sausage. 2 eggs, 2 corn and 3 potatoes. I maybe have gone a little over board haha but left overs were just as tastee on day 2 as it was on day 1. The cajun and garlic sauce were the right choice for me with very very mild spice. My craving for a boil was satisfied and I will be back again.

Major food coma, my first time ever trying seafood boil

Went for lunch with my girls and we had a positive experience overall. Love that they have a lunch option for the crab and shrimp boil. The flavors were on point, I ordered the trifecta hot, perfect if you like spice. The server was a bit introverted but still nice and accommodating, goes to show that a good server doesn't have to be all up in your face to do a good job. I finished the whole thing and I was in a good coma. Will be returning for lunch!

We love Angry Crab Shack, and with the rising cost of seafood, they have one of the better lunch menus with entrees starting as low as $8.00. My wife and I both ordered the shrimp boils, $10.00, which comes with 1/2 lb. of shrimp, corn on the cob, red potato, and a soft drink, a really great deal. Their lunch specials are available Monday-Friday from 11-3, and in today's economy, the Angry Crab Shack's lunch menu is a really great value.

first off: amazing lunch deal here!!! the shrimp and crab combo for $20 was more than enough to split between two friends and not be overly stuffed. we added hard boiled eggs and got the sweet potato fries too. bill ended up around $37 which is SO reasonable for seafood boil and i will definitely be coming back for another lunch deal! the service was quick, the staff were so sweet and because it was a wednesday afternoon, it was pretty chill and empty inside. the food came out so fast and we had an absolute blast. the trifecta is the best sauce for sure and we got it hot -- could definitely stand to go spicier next time!

    Ready to make a mess!

I was craving a seafood boil for my birthday so we walked to Angry Crab for lunch today. They have a nice $15 lunch special that included 1/2 lb of crab legs; 1/2 lb of shrimp; a potato and a small ear of corn. It was the perfect size lunch for me (plus a lot of extra shrimp to take home). It's messy but it's yummy. They weren't busy at all today- service was excellent and everything was piping hot and the right spice level. They did bring me cake and ice cream and sang (really loudly) for my bday. Fun! Good choice and we will be back!

I was taken care of by Katie Sue--she was attentive, checked in on me a few times over a couple of hours. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great. I ordered a Michelada, and the mix was really good. They would have gotten a four star review if I didn't had to ask for the sausage side I order that they missed. Also I asked for extra gloves from Ben and instead looking over his shoulder looking for Katie or of just passing the request along, he went back and got them for me--great teamwork!

I always have a hard time eating her because I'm not a crap/shrimp/lobster person, but I do enjoy scallops and mussels, so that's what I got in my steam bag. I feel like the mussels always come out overdone and it's so disappointing because the seasonings are so good. The scallops were great though. Clam chowder was good, nothing to ride home about, but that spicy edamame was amazingggg!! Service was good, no complaints there. And it's a very casual place to go out to eat. I was in my yoga pants and a tank top after hitting the gym and didn't feel like I was out of place at all. My family got the crab legs and lobster and said all of it was amazing. Definitely add the potatoes and corn to your bag! They both soak up all the flavors so nice and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. I love that they started bringing out these metal bowls to empty the bag out in now! So much easier and way less of a mess. Also, no more rolls of paper towels and they actually have a napkin dispenser, which I can appreciate.

Awesome seafood boil place! Great flavors ! And amazing service people that go above and beyond! Definitely recommend !

Ask the Community - Angry Crab Shack

If you have Crawfish why don't I see them on the menu here?

They have a seafood chalk board over kitchen that lists the per pound price of the available seafood including crayfish.

For the bags do you have to order a full pound or can you order half pounds?

Our seafood is available by the pound only. We do not offer half pounds of any of our seafood items.…

    Are they serving crawfish yet?

    Yes

Does anyone know where the shrimp, crab, actually all the seafood is from?

I've been told the crawfish are shipped in from Louisiana still alive. They are frozen when out of season though. As for the rest of the shell fish, I'm not sure. Sorry.

Sorry for the confusion. Is the seafood flown in or delivered alive daily/weekly. I have had live seafood delivered to me, and I have done airport pickups. I wanted to know if the seafood is alive when it comes or frozen?

Most places that are not close to the coast are flown in frozen or brought in chilled, also some places that are on the coast are also frozen. Companies try to save overhead cost of fresh seafood, which is why a lot of companies buy frozen instead…

Does anyone know which of their sauces has the least amount of salt? I am on a low salt diet for health reasons and want to try and keep it as low as possible - considering it's seafood.

I would think 1 of 2, either the traditional which is usually old bay or lemon pepper. I would think they could adapt for you!

We recently discovered a corn allergy in our family. Which of your rubs and sauces do not contain corn based ingredients? (Meaning no corn syrups, xanthan gum, corn starch, corn based sweeteners)

Honestly I don't know. I've only been there once.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes!

Hello, I was wonder if any of your food is or could be modified to be gluten free? Gluten free…

There are GF options for sure. I went with my girlfriend who is GF, and she could eat the crab legs and potatoes and had some of the sauces too.

What kind of gumbo is served there?

    seafood with sausage

A Taste of the Bayou Right Here!…read more Walking into Flavors of Louisiana feels like stepping straight into the heart of the South--where the spices are bold, the portions are generous, and every bite carries a story. From the moment I sat down, the warm hospitality made me feel like family, and the aroma of Cajun spices drifting from the kitchen let me know I was in for something special. The Food The star of the show is undeniably the seafood dishes. The crawfish étouffée was rich and velvety, with layers of flavor that only true Louisiana cooking can capture. The seasoning was spot-on--bold without being overpowering, spicy but balanced. The fried catfish was golden perfection: crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. And don't get me started on the gumbo--hearty, smoky, and brimming with soul. Every side dish felt like comfort food elevated. The hush puppies were crisp little bites of heaven, and the dirty rice was so flavorful it could have been a meal on its own. The Experience What I loved most was the authenticity. Nothing felt watered down or rushed--it was food made with love, patience, and pride. The staff checked in often, always with a smile, and you could tell they genuinely cared that you enjoyed not just your meal, but your entire experience. Final Thoughts Flavors of Louisiana isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience. It's the kind of place you come to when you want food that warms your soul and reminds you what real flavor is supposed to taste like. If you've never had authentic Cajun or Creole cooking before, this is the perfect place to start. And if you already love Louisiana cuisine, you'll feel right at home. Authentic. Flavorful. But our server was great and he would have gotten the 20% at least... I don't know why I didn't take pictures except for mine. Probably because I was so freaking annoyed. Well for a start Fruit De Mer, $37.95 for shrimp, crab fingers and oysters. Shrimp was OK, they weren't pealed probably so I bit into small shells few times, crab fingers was super tiny with almost no meat to little meat, little fishy, not tasty, oysters.. two big and two tiny ones. Big ones I'm guessing Louisiana oysters, small one I have no idea. I kid you not small ones looked like ones you get at cheap Chinese buffet. For how much you got the price you pay was beyond me. I think maybe 15 bux might have been OK. Rest of the dishes were pretty good but when I saw my dish I was confused. I had to look at the menu to see if I made the right order. Looked at the picture I took 11 months ago and verified I orders the same dish. I know cost of things have gotten up and some times you have to decide keep the price same and give smaller portion or raise the price.. Well I would have preferred either or. Not the dish I got which looked and tasted like, keep the same peice, add more pasta, put less seafood. I was so annoyed I wanted to complain but I got the evil eyes from my wifey since it was a bday dinner celebration, so I kept my mout shut. I remember seafood gumbo being amazing but for some reason shrimp gumbo was also pure disappointment. Little salty and lacked the flavor that I remember eating. Definitely not worth the price for a cup. Filet mignon for $68.95 definitely was not worth the price tag also. Over all food was pretty good but not as good as last time I ate there. Service was still great which is nice. I cannot keep this place 4 starts anymore. And I used to recommend this place to everybody but not after today. That almost $38 appetizer was sad and over priced and they totally ruined my Pasta Mardi Gras. Maybe I am being too harsh but 8 people dinner with 3 appetizers, one main dishes per person, just water to drink for over $650, I just could not get over the fact that it was not worth the over all price.

The food arrived about 15 minutes later on a big plate. The chicken pieces had a dark brown crust and were quite good tasting. Not too crusty and with hot and flavorful meat on the bone. The rice and light brown gravy were good and the maque choux looked different from the South Louisiana variety but I still enjoyed it. It had corn, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers in it. I'll bet few locals have ever heard of it! The tablevservice was good too. This was a lot of food and I didn't finish it all but it was all good tasting and very close to real southern style cooking. Their house blend is the best sauce I've ever had, that alone is what keeps us coming back, I believe it is a Viet style Cajun sauce. We usually get the build your own combo, with crawfish, snow crab, and a few appetizers like french fries, garlic noodles, and onion rings. I believe they have changed management recently, or in the past few years. Although the sauce remains delicious, the food quality seems to be falling, and I see that they have a few food safety violations listed on their Yelp. The garlic noodles were swimming in the watery sauce, and the Cajun fries were not tossed, just sprinkled on top. The restaurant has never been that busy when we go, and there is usually is only one server doing all the hosting, food running, and waitressing. Ours seemed to be a little stressed today, and did not refill our drinks as much as we would've preferred, and forgot things like our salt and pepper. We will probably still keep coming just for that sauce, but looks like the restaurant has a few things to work out to bring back its former glory.

Well, this was my first time eating at the LA crab shack on Peoria. I spent $208.00 on their…read moreseafood broil, feeds four and I took it to go. I picked the garlic and lemon pepper. well unfortunately they use the garlic that is already crushed and cut and not fresh garlic in their food and they overcooked the crab and if you do get the lobster tail, they give you 1 whole lobster tail cut in half for two people and they give you lots of shrimp, I mean a lot of shrimp compared to anything else in that seafood broil bag had they overcooked all the sea food and they used a lot of that crushed already diced garlic. That did not make the food Taste good at all. They put way too much garlic in it, and the food was impossible to eat because it was overcooked and it was rubbery. I was very disappointed on how much money I spent . if I knew in advance that they had a family emergency and was closing 1 hour early I would've waited and come back the next day and maybe the food would've have tasted a lot better. It was the lobster seafood boil for two couples, and I bought two sets for four couples. Just beware that if they're in a hurry, try not to be in a hurry to eat here. You probably get a better experience than what my family did. I've been to crab shacks before that has seafood boil and they were way better and not so stingy for the price they charge you. when I was there, there was only one family sitting at a table. The rest of the restaurant was empty. The waitress she was very friendly and very nice and very accommodating.
