Pa'La is a tapas style restaurant that prides themselves in wood-fired cooking and sourcing high quality ingredients. My husband and I came here for lunch on Valentine's Day and it was fantastic! We were seated outside on the patio, it was lovely as the weather was perfect. They had many plants and trees including a lemon and grapefruit tree! We ordered a variety dishes to share like the beef tartare with squid ink milk bread, Japanese sweet potato, Spanish octopus, golden beets and roasted cauliflower. I was impressed with everything. You can taste the quality in each ingredient and I appreciate that. My husband and I agreed that the Spanish octopus was our favorite dish. It was the best octopus I've had in a while, the char flavor and slight crisp was amazing. We enjoyed the creamy sauce, artichokes, and other veggies that came with this dish. The cauliflower and golden beets were incredible too. The chef told us that the Japanese sweet potato was one of the popular dishes, but out of everything we ordered, it was surprisingly my least favorite. It was still good but everything else tasted better to me. Pa'La is a bit pricey but the quality makes up for it. I would recommend this place for people who are visiting or for a date night!

Omg, one of my favorite dining experiences of 2025! I came to Pa'La on a Tuesday night with friends and we shared several plates that were all absolutely fantastic! On top of that, the service was incredible. The main host, chef? Idk, but either way, he educated us on every dish, was clever and witty, and made us feel so comfortable. It's a very intimate setting, cozy, and feels like a romantic or chill evening. I felt so satisfied after this visit in every way and I can't wait to go back! EVERYTHING we ordered was fantastic and we all wanted to wipe our plates clean... what I really mean is lick the plates... and I'm pretty sure we were trying to do this but in a nicer way. If I had to pick a fav, probably the branzino... and everything else was a close 2nd.

I'll start off with a story from our night's meal. A dog, with no owner, greets us at the outdoor patio while my date and I are enjoying wine. We pet him, and wait. Eventually our server/manager comes to bring us the Tomato Crudo Special. His name is Randy. He leaves us the dish and sees us with the stray dog. Only after asking, petting, and realizing he's lost his owner, we see him take the dog off the wood porch. He gives him water (it's 108F currently per weather app) and -- I kid you not-- takes him a good 40-50 yards to neighboring houses to knock door-to-door searching for his owner... (Four houses in, he finds a person willing to take him temporarily, to notify the necessary authorities so the dog can be taken care of). Now. The food was incredible, even after his schpeal on farm to table, this particular location being the experimental grounds for exciting new dishes, and overall intimacy and service. For reference we had the Tomato Crudo special, Pork Rib, Pork Belly, and King Oyster Mushroom Risotto. I HIGHLY recommend the mushroom risotto, be brave. TLDR: service was a 17/10, food was fun and exotic, it made for an incredible date night experience. I hope Randy is your server, though I'm sure anyone else will be just as great.

I have been wanting to come here for a long time and finally made it for a meal. The restaurant is small and busy, so make reservations! The indoor seating was booked up, so we sat outside. It is a cute little patio, though there were a couple little ants running around on the table (I was worried they would run onto my plate!) and I think I got at least one mosquito bite sitting out there too - it might be helpful to wear long pants to keep the bugs from biting your legs! The other downside to the patio was the noise from street traffic. The restaurant is located on 24th st, which is busy! The service was very good, though because it was so busy, it took a while to get the check to pay at the end of the meal (we had to go into the restaurant to flag down the server). The food was solid. We ordered a few tapas dishes: the pork belly lettuce cups, polenta, hummus, and grilled octopus. Off the daily menu, we ordered the heirloom carrot dish and the miso black cod. If I had to make any critique, it would be that the octopus was a bit rubbery, but that might just be due to the constraints of the way the cook the food here (wood fired grill). The prices for everything were very reasonable.

Very cute restaurant with an awesome patio. Though I wonder how they fare during the summer months of Phoenix since their indoor seating is limited. I wonder only because their food is great and I want them to thrive! They pride themselves on utilizing clean local ingredients and it's refreshing to see healthy food elevated and creative like this. Certain items feel a bit pricey while others are priced very fair. But whatever you end up ordering that you're comfortable with, you won't regret!

We enjoyed Pa'La very much. We did the multi course $68 chef's choice for each of us and loved it. Had a starter, main, veggies, and dessert. Shrimp, flank steak, prime rib, oyster mushrooms, beets, Japanese sweet potato, branzino, cod, and two desserts, one of which was their take on a creme brulee. Loved the firepits and patio. Recommend making a reservation since it's on the smaller side. They have their own parking lot.

I had the most amazing time at Pa La on 24th street. This cozy spot is a fantastic date night! Brittany was our server and did a fantastic job presenting wines and lunch options. She's a real ray of sunshine! We enjoyed the Pinot Noir and Capa Tempranillo. I had a steak sandwich and salad. The food and atmosphere is excellent! The patio is absolutely adorable and spacious. The inside is super comfortable and great vibes.

My husband and I came here because we love the other pala restaurant downtown and wanted to see how this one did. Gotta say this place was as good as the other one! They have a slightly different cuisine and focus more on smaller dishes and seafood, but all the dishes we ordered were amazing. The seafood was fresh and cooked delicately. The sauces used in those dishes really highlight the umami flavor. The restaurant was in a cute house, which was nicely decorated by the owner. We would definitely want to visit again to try more dishes.

We had tickets to a show at Celebrity Theatre so I made a dinner reservation here. Both the indoor and outdoor dining areas are beautiful and inviting. We were welcomed warmly by our server who explained the concept and the menu. We tried a few items and shared all of them. Our favorite dishes were the pork belly lettuce wraps, flank steak, and octopus. I'm looking forward to going back soon and trying more of the delicious menu.

Simply FANTASTIC as we navigated the Tapas menu. Service was exemplary and the food quality and value is excellent. Patio was very enjoyable.

Wood-burning Oven and Japanese Robata Grill for smoked and grilled food goodness. The patio is fantastic for seating and they keep a fire burning at the front with chairs for you to relax on. There are heaters and string lights to stay warm and make a nice relaxed vibe. Service was fanstastic and they helped me create a simple cocktail when they were out of the one I wanted. Look at the specials written inside above the chef, there will be more items than on the printed menu. Bone Marrow Appetizer: Comes with black bread for dipping, I saw they changed the menu to be sourdough now and I think thats a better pairing. Bone Marrow was fantastic. Shrimp Salad: 3 huge pieces of shrimp, the greens part were all locally sourced and an off mix of bitter, roots, and peppery. Would have preferred some more traditional greens mixed in. Scallops: We ordered two of these for 2 families, one wasn't enough. Delicious and slightly spicy with crunchy bits on top for more texture with each bite. Spanish Iberico Pork: "True" Iberico from Spain, cooked bone-in for more flavor. We trust the cooks judgement but it looked quite rare for something that has so much fat content it would have been just as tasty cooked medium. Rich, nutty taste, I swear I could taste a hint of acorn from the pigs diet. Prime Ribeye: This was so perfect rare and with a nice char on it, you can't get much better than the grilled taste you get from cooking on wood, we cleared the plate completely.

I thoroughly enjoyed our Valentines Day night at Pa'la. We had the four course special with the wine pairing. Upon entering I do wish they had a hostess stand it feels kind of awkward not knowing where to stand. Aside from that the meal was amazing. The pasta which I did not get a picture of was the best thing. I love the wood-fired crust it had on it and the flavor was amazing. The second best was the ribeye I don't know what else to say besides it was outstanding and cooked to perfection! For the wine tasting I wish they did a Sauvignon blanc instead of Chardonnay but maybe that's just a personal preference. The dessert served with the course was a grapefruit cake with a mascarpone topping it was the perfect subtly sweet way to top off the evening I will definitely be retuning to try more of their menu especially since it changes seasonally!

Not a great photo of eggplant (delicious) + 2 shrimp (the shrimp were not as massive as they appear)

We had a party of 5 so I was able to taste test several menu items ordered by our table. Hummus - very tasty, homemade hummus; very stingy portion of bread, would be low cost to provide a 2nd piece Octopus - only my second time trying octopus and it was a much better experience than my first. I liked it and it seemed cooked just right. Eggplant - so delicious, I loved the dish Shrimp (2 grilled shrimp @ $6 each) - again very good Tuna sandwich - very good as well So no disappointments in the food itself. I did think the prices were a little too high on all the non-sandwich menu items. The server seemed a little irritated with us over some indecision on what to order and timing, we had some older members of our party and I wish he would have been more patient/understanding. There was only one other occupied table indoors and one on the patio. Not a whole lot of ambiance indoors, the books around looked super interesting and had I been dining alone I wouldn't have been able to resist picking one up. I'd come back if I was feeling rich and spendy. The dishes I liked the most were the smaller plates you'd peck at but the prices add up quick.

We dined here as a party of four on a Sunday evening (the first guests seated at 5:00 p.m.). Given…read morethe glowing reviews, beautiful Instagram presence, and higher price point, we walked in with high expectations. Three of the four of us cook regularly and host dinners, so we all pay attention to food, service, and the overall dining experience--though we each have very different tastes. Interestingly, we all left with about the same impression. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The décor is warm, inviting, and immediately makes you feel like you're in for something special. Our server was attentive throughout the meal, although there were a few service hiccups that affected the experience. We started with cocktails. All of them were good, but each seemed just slightly out of balance. I ordered the OG Margarita on our server's recommendation, and while I'm admittedly picky about margaritas, this one was noticeably too sweet. The seasonal menu sounded exciting, especially since they emphasize using fresh, in-season ingredients. Our server insisted on us trying the Tomato Board. At $40, which was the most expensive appetizer on the menu, we expected something very memorable. It featured several varieties of tomatoes (including a surprisingly delicious pickled green tomato), a light and airy whipped mozzarella, and a single long piece of focaccia. Everything tasted fresh, and the whipped mozzarella was the standout--we'd never had anything quite like it. Unfortunately, with only one piece of bread, we had to order another just so everyone could enjoy it. Good? Absolutely. Worth $40? None of us thought so. We also ordered the escargot, which was delicious, though it's hard to describe five pieces as "family style." For our entrees, we ordered the burger, the sausage with potato latke, and what we thought was the lamb and mussels special. At first we were going to order the pork belly noodles instead of the sausage, but our server thought it would be too many noodle dishes, so we happily took his recommendation to get the sausage. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication, and the pork belly noodles were brought instead of the special we were most excited to try. When we pointed it out, he acknowledged the mistake but he wasn't quick to offer a resolution, which left us in an awkward spot where we just decided to keep it. Ironically, the pork belly noodles ended up being our least favorite dish. The pork belly was overly chewy and quite salty, while the noodles were bland and seemed just slightly undercooked. The fresh mint was a nice touch, but it wasn't enough to save the dish. The sausage with potato latke, yogurt sauce, and pickled red cabbage was surprisingly excellent. The flavors were balanced, the portion size was generous, and it ended up being one of our favorites. The true star of the evening, though, was the burger. We split it four ways, and every single one of us commented on how good it was. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, topped with melty Gorgonzola and a vanilla bean jam that married beautifully together. We used every last bite of the warm bun to soak up what was left. Overall, we'd give the food about a 7/10. Here's what took an otherwise 4/5 star experience down to a 3. The air conditioning wasn't working on a 115-degree day. But I'm not lowering my rating because mechanical issues happen. At first it wasn't noticeable because it was still cooler than outside, but as dinner went on we were all visibly uncomfortable, passing around my hand fan. Only then did our server mention that the A/C had been out. You come here for an experience and if you know upfront a patrons experience will be affected you are under obligation to tell them but no one mentioned it when we arrived or made any effort to acknowledge the inconvenience or tried to make up for our discomfort in any way. Persephen clearly has talent in the kitchen and a beautiful space, but when you position yourself as a premium dining experience, every detail matters. We enjoyed parts of the meal, especially the burger, but overall the experience didn't quite live up to the hype. For us, 3 out of 5 stars feels like a fair rating.

I have never had an artichoke appetizer like this before - the artichoke was lightly fried with chips, chimichurri sauce and buttermilk - the texture was meaty and the flavor was creamy with a refreshing kick. The cioppino was good too. Again, love the texture - even though it was a soup, the fried leek really added flavors and crunchiness to the dish. And the seafood was really fresh. The bread was also airy. Their service was also excellent! The staff were friendly and immediately noticed that we needed a to-go box even though we didn't request it.

We had reservations, were greeted and seated immediately. We decided to share tapas to allow the opportunity to sample a wider variety of dishes. Happy hour menu provided a great opportunity at a reasonable price. We order hummus and peta bread, olives with almonds and a couple of church music IPAs. The beers and olives arrived in a few minutes and the hummus about ten minutes later. Loved the red pepper flavor of the hummus. Beers were cold and refreshing. Next we decided to try the honey saffron and sumac Socca. It was unique and delicious. The ingredients truly complement each other, with the sumac bring a tart flavor to the honey saffron. We also tried the crispy eggplant with tzatziki sauce which was a standout, one of the best bite of the evening. Our last two dishes we selected were the K4 meatballs with parmigiana in a wine sauce and the grilled octopus. The octopus was okay but not as good as it was last time, too many white beans and octopus texture was off. The meatballs were excellent with bold flavors. The atmosphere was quiet initially but the restaurant filled up and got busy about 15 minutes later. Love the open kitchen and eclectic decor. Our server was friendly and attentive. Excellent service, a Christmas tree upstairs, and no reservations required. Glad they were able to seat us considering we showed up without reservations. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!

We seated ourselves at a booth since it wasn't quite busy and that just means more room for our food and drinks to spread out *teehee* The cocktails were amazing my cousin ordered the espresso martini which she loved they make the espresso fresh. I went with a gin cocktail that had coconut flavors something I would never consider with gin but if you read my reviews you know gin is my preferred spirit. It was so good! For two people we ordered three types of empanadas we probably could have gotten away with two flavors and maybe a lighter tapa or desert but really wanted to try the cheese and guava empanada and didn't want that to be a main option in case we didn't like it. Needless to say we really liked all three: picadillo, arroz con pollo and guava and cheese - the picadillo was the favorite however both for the inside flavor and the accompanying dip. Pricing is not bad I'd say the serving and size of the three empanadas for $14 is a great price.

My husband had the cubano which was a big portion and he liked it. I had a sangria which was decently priced, we also got a Mojito which thought was pricy for the amount of alcohol. Would go back to try other things in the menu. They are literally next to the light rail which makes transportation very easy because parking in downtown is a nightmare. Would def go back.

Hmm I think i'm in between a four and a five due to what you get and the price point…read more I went with a five because ultimately, I've had good experiences here. I got a margarita pizza and it was good. if you're hungry, you can easily kill a pizza to yourself. Or share a pizza with someone and get a salad etc You can do the valet parking and get it validated through the restaurant or there's the parking structure a little walk away, unsure if that gets validated. This is great for a date night, catching up with a friend, or even getting a bite to yourself. Thankfully, they keep the temperature in their nice and cozy COOL, especially because the oven is right there. Service is always nice enough.

Came here and luckily they had openings as I made a reservations at the wrong location. The place was pretty casual on there customer service. Pretty much get your order and that's about it. Wine: Had a Wilcox wine and it wasn't very good. Mozzarella salad was really good. Pizza I felt had too much of a smoked taste and just didn't have much flavor. Crust was the best part. I've been having really good pizza as of late and this pizza didn't hit the spot. Really bummed as we were excited. Definitely will seek other options next time in Phoenix.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Elyse was our server for the evening, and she truly made our experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our table was taken care of throughout the entire dinner. We came with friends, and both of our families had our little ones with us, so we really appreciated that they had high chairs available. It's always a plus finding a restaurant that feels welcoming and accommodating when dining out with babies! The restaurant itself was super clean, and most importantly, the food was delicious. The sashimi tasted incredibly fresh, and everything we ordered was really good. Such a great first experience! We'll definitely be coming back and are so happy to have found a new sushi spot here in Arizona. Highly recommend!
