Another great visit and fantastic food. Love the empanadas and arepas. Terri was again our server and we love her. Met with the owner and talked about Columbia. Just a great restaurant

First time at Que Sazon and our experience was AMAZING! Everything we had was top tier! The steak tacos were my fave. I can eat it all day. We went Friday night before Valentine's so we had to make a reservation but the service was fast and we were seated as soon as we got there. Our server was super nice and answered any questions I had. And there was live music which made the experience even better.

The pork melts in your mouth so I had a pork and a chicken empanadas, wow they were great. The service was great, sister in law of the chef owner did a bang up job and they were slammed. Sat outside, beautiful day, nice setting. If you're in the area you cannot go wrong eating here.

Stopped in for a quick lunch after the farmers market. I got the pollo mango tostones and traded one for a pork tostone with my boyfriend. My other friend got a pollo mango burrito, which was HUGE. Good portion sizes for the price and delicious. Will definitely come back, I want to try the ceviche!

I've been here a couple times and both times the food has been amazing and the service very friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong with any of the empanadas. Between the beef and the pork, I would give the edge to the pork, but both are great. I also tried the spicy pork tacos and the arepa. The arepa is definitely my favorite, but the tacos are still a good choice. The margaritas have all been really tasty too. Next time I hope to try one of the ceviches. I've heard really good things about the ceviche and it's one of their specialties.

I came here with a big group to celebrate a birthday and it was fantastic! When it's cooler, the outside seating is quite the vibe. Good music and a green patio with lots of plants that make it feel almost private. The server recommended to start with empanadas and I didn't have to be told twice. The shrimp empanada was perfect, 10/10. For the entree I was heavily debating one of the dinner specials or the ceviche. I love ceviche but I wasn't sure it would be filling enough so I went with the arepa. Turned out to be plenty filling and very tasty! Someone else ordered one of the mango ceviches and I got to try a bite - delicious! Of course for the birthday celebrant, they brought out some ice cream and sweet plantains to enjoy. We passed it around the table and everyone thought it was delectable. Definitely recommend overall.

A friend suggested we check this place out and I'm so glad I finally did! It was easy to get a weekend reservation for a group, which I appreciated, and a crowd pleaser. They're in the Heritage Square district, inside a converted home, so conveniently downtown (plan your transportation strategy accordingly). They serve a variety of options: empanadas, ceviche, burritos, bowls, and a couple fancier large plates. Ordering to share is definitely the move. My favorite dish is the pork empanada. Their meat is slow cooked for hours and sweetened with the addition of plantain inside the pastry. It's a can't miss dish. The ceviche is also lovely and not fishy tasting. The Arizona burrito is craveably super umami, and the pollo and mango tostones are nicely light and bright. If the staff tell you something is spicy, believe them. They also have a wine list and a variety of cocktails, including your classic South American flavors like passionfruit and pisco. On weekend nights, they have some live music. All in all, a great date spot or fun for a group.

It's very rare I leave a meal not thinking something should have been different. Something needed more salt, or sauce, or whatever. I walked away from this meal with no regrets and zero suggestions. There is something special here! 10/10 - zero complaints. The staff, so friendly. The margaritas, fire. The food - when I tell you I told EVERYONE about this place I did. It was so good, I cannot wait to go again. It's SO good! Just go, try it. See for yourself, taste the authenticity. The flavor. The love in every bite. Here is what we tried, I cannot wait to try more! Pollo mango tostones Beef empanada Yucca fries Spicy pork tacos Carne picante tacos Passion fruit margarita and a house margarita And I wouldn't have changed a darn thing!

You'll literally have to fight me to keep me away from this place! I visited Que Sazon recently and the food was sooooo good. I ordered the El Duro El Original Rice Bowl and it was the perfect balance of everything. The slow-roasted pernil with chimichurri and the mix of chipotle aioli, sriracha, and their signature BBQ sauce was a total flavor explosion! Also, I could eat a massive plate of just those crispy plantains they topped it with. YUM! My friend and I also ordered the beef empanadas, and she didn't stop talking about how good they were the entire night. To top it all off, the live music creates such a great atmosphere. The service was excellent. I'll definitely be dancing my way back here very soon!

Great outdoor ambiance. Lots of misters and shade if you want to enjoy the Phoenix sun without the heat. Food is decent. Wish I was able to try the ceviche but it is available only in the evenings!

We had a 2 hour wait for a restaurant across the street, so we came in here for some drinks and empanadas to hold us over. We sat at the bar which only has about 5 seats. We asked them to turn on the Tv and dial up the Diamondback game. I mentioned that the game was on Apple TV and they might not be able to get it, but they said they would get it done, and they did. Everyone that we encountered were super friendly. We ordered a beef empanada and a shrimp empanada. I love empanadas and the beef one was awesome, real tasty beef, almost birria like. The shrimp empanada was good also, it had a little spice. The restaurant had sort of a Cajun bayou vibe.

I really liked: Maduros Chicken Empanada Pork Empanada Gelato I liked: Beef Empanada Shrimp Empanada Pork Tostones Passion Fruit Slush Aborrajado Empanada This was ok: Shrimp Ceviche I didn't like: Sangria Que Sazon was a fun spot to try while in Phoenix, and I appreciated the variety on the menu, though the food overall felt a bit uneven. The maduros were sweet and roasted well, and a couple of the empanadas stood out. The chicken and pork were my favorites, both crispy with solid flavor. The beef was a little tough and the shrimp had some spice but didn't leave a lasting impression. The aborrajado empanada was different with its sweet plantain and cinnamon notes, more of a one-time try than something I'd crave again. Some of the other dishes were hit or miss. The pork tostones were a bit tough and hard to eat, and the shrimp ceviche didn't really come together, tasting more like chips and dressing than a balanced dish. Drinks and desserts had a similar mix. The passion fruit slush was bright and refreshing, while the sangria missed the mark and leaned more like cold wine. The coconut gelato was the best way to finish, sweet, creamy, and loaded with coconut flakes. The ambiance has a cool, darker dinner vibe that makes for a nice night out, though the tables do feel a little tight. Service was quick overall but not flawless, with a few things missed for our group. It is worth checking out if you are in the area and want to explore different #goodeats, though I probably would not make it a regular stop.

For $16, you get four mixed empanadas of your choice. That's a good deal, I think. But, the empanadas were on the smaller side. The owner was very friendly and informative and let us know these empanadas are made in the Columbian style. She also mentioned she lived in Mexico for many years and learned to make empanadas the Mexican way and combined some of those flavors also. The empanadas I had were all very tasty and I liked the salsa verde that came with the empanadas. I had the traditional (had a kick to it) and arroz con pollo. I gave Sherpa the calentado and chorizo ones, but no report back if they were good lol. My only gripe here is that the empanadas were a little more greasy than I usually like. On their website and in photos, they say their empanadas are air fried, but I think I recall seeing oil fryers outdoors yesterday. I try to keep fried foods to a limit as I don't always feel great after eating a greasy meal. And I have to maintain a svelte physique, just kidding there. Diabetes and heart disease run in my family, so I am very mindful of what I put into my temple. I also ate these after climbing as there is no way I could have had these empanadas in my stomach prior. Also interesting is that the vegetarian and vegan ones were kind of food color green. I guess you need to be able to differentiate them, but the color was off-putting. I'd give this place another try but would prefer baked empanadas. I love empanadas, just please hold the grease.
