It all looked amazing but each item just had something a bit off for us. We didn't even finish most of the food. We tried the Shrimp toast and one of the platters. Let me start by saying I want to give this restaurant a five-star rating SO bad. They have my favorite dessert in the entire city. The Hummingbird. An absolute amazing perfection of a dessert. You must try it..this coming from a former fine dining pastry chef. Their cocktails are perfectly on point point and their biscuits make my mouth water. This place is phenomenal!! Cole was our server and he was wonderful. He suggested his top 3 favorite dishes and I went with his first choice, the pork belly. It was excellent! My fiancé had the truffle toast, which was also very good. We also shared the biscuits. The carrot jam for the biscuits was so delicious! It was very good. We had dinner reservations at Primal Steakhouse so didn't need anything to eat but we wanted to try the short rib fried rice because it was a fusion we hadn't seen before. So so glad we ordered this. Hands down one of the best snacks I've had. It was so different which is weird cause it's just fried rice right but in a great way! Recommend adding the egg. Palate is easily one of my new all-time Vegas favorite restaurants! Located just off the Strip in the Arts District, Palate is an excellent interpretation of the District itself with food to match! In front is the dining area and open kitchen behind (bathrooms are on the right toward the back, heh). Welcome shots of espresso martinis came out first, and then we all ordered a hybrid of our own entrees and shared dishes. This worked out brilliantly and I highly suggest anyone who goes here to do the same! The menu is so extensive and interesting that I forgot exactly all that we ate, other than I had the Scallops & Grits entree and some shared Pork Shoulder and Duck Dynasty among a plethora of other dishes. Did I mention they make a mean Whiskey Sour? :-) One weekday I came here with my buddy for $1 oysters. I think we got two dozen, because why not? Our waiter advised us the Palate Boards were shareable sizes so it was perfect for two. The food was AMAZING. So much that i couldn't wait to leave the restaurant to leave this review. The Oysters were delicious with the sauces. The Chicken was cooked to perfection and was so juicy and not overly tender. The Kimchi had the right amount of kick with a little funk on the cheese. I haven't given a 5 star in a while but this place deserves it. Stopped in for the Wednesday $1 oysters and was delighted that we got more! The chef's secret recipe hot sauce that was paired with was absolutely divine! I wanted to put it on everything. The presentation was just as amazing as the decor which caught me so off guard when I walked in. The name of this place is so unassuming for the ambiance/ food that is delivered. Ordered a filthy gin martini with blue cheese olives and the penicillin. Both outstanding! It's hard to find a bartender that can make a "filthy" martini on the first try - I hate being a bother to order extra olive juice. Which leads me to my only complaint... I probably would've been charged for the extra juice. $2 for blue cheese olives kind of rubbed me wrong. I would've went without had I known. But again, my only complaint! Prices definitely reflected the quality/ deliciousness of what we enjoyed. The queso was superb with its fire show and with a blend of Mexican/ Indian flavors. Do understand this is not "queso dip", it's queso flameado- cheese you pull apart/ cut. Loved the roti on the side which paired well with the sauce on top (hence the Indian part). Lastly is the sliders - well worth the $20 they charge! Thick, juicy slider patties with toppings that resemble an Asian slaw. The sweet vinegar flavor was so different but so good! From the host, to the server to I'm guessing the managers? Everyone was so attentive to our table and making sure our dining experience was above and beyond. It's hard to find an all hands on deck joint in this day & age! Prices are a little steep but I was happy to pay with the quality that was delivered from start to finish.
