    Chicken tortilla soup
    Joseph P.

This is a pleasant local family restaurant that has as its main distinction is that it's actually open for dinner, unlike most of the similar businesses along Northwest highway in Palatine. The service here was efficient and extremely pleasant. On our visit this April we had two of the daily specials. The Grecian chicken was mildly flavored but well cooked and delicious. The stuffed cabbage, however, was extraordinarily bland and disappointing. A nice feature is that the specials come with actual desserts beyond the usual rice pudding and ice cream.

Omelette. Lots of omelette choices. Served with hash browns toast or pancakes. My son selected pancakes

Visited here a few times and it is very consistent. Wide assortment and daily specials on the menu. Three soup choices a day with their Matza ball daily. That is my favorite. Have tried omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches and all our decent. Consistently friendly staff and decent portions. Dessert case with pies, cakes and ice cream assortment. Worth a stop to check it out

Everything needs to improve. Poor food then vacuuming u see the table you are eating at. I would rate this restaurant a zero if I could. The daughter of the owner needs to watch her mouth and she needs a new attitude if she wants to work with the public.

    Country Skillet

Spacious local diner with a good selection. I had the country skillet, which was plenty of food and came with either toast or pancakes. I like the old fashioned ambiance! The food was pretty standard for breakfast that didn't knock it out of the park for me, but it also didn't disappoint. I'd come back to try other breakfast items.

    Wax paper on sandwich

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Service is beyond awful. Did a pick up order and they messed up my order (I received the wrong item) on top of that, there was a piece of wax paper inside my food. Luckily we saw it before eating the melt. We could have choked on that. Overall it is a safety issue. Upon calling the restaurant, I spoke with THREE different people. Each one of them was rude, not once one of them said they were sorry this happened. They asked for me to go back to the restaurant if I wanted a refund (which is ridiculous bc I would t want to drive 10 mins just to get a refund after they inconvenienced me twice. One of the three ladies finally said she would void the transaction. Well that hasn't happened yet. None of them gave out their name. Overall, terrible experience.

Carried out turkey club, fries and matzo ball soup. The food was delicious. Can't wait to return and try another menu item. Highly recommend.

First time at Rep's today and here are some of my thoughts:…read more --The place is clean, looks new, service was friendly. --You order at the front desk and they call your name when it's ready--very fast, but quiet during the weekday lunch hour. --I ordered the original smasher meal, includes waffle fries and a fountain drink, all for about $15. --You get a lot of fries--they were fresh, hot, and good, plenty of salt. --The smashburger was good. Highlight was the cheese and the pickles. If you like a good cheeseburger, you'll love Rep's smashburger! Overall, good. I've tasted better smashburgers and better buns. This feels like a fast food version of the smashburger.

Always excited to see a new non-chain restaurant! Rep's took over the old Arby's location, and…read moreretained their drive thru, which I love to see. Reps is a smash burger place first and foremost. The only other food they have is a fried chicken sandwich and fries. They additionally have drinks, shakes, and alcohol. Typically, in my experience, places with such small menus have very good food. They need to be confident in their limited offerings enough to run a business off of just those items. I ordered one of their burgers, and even though all the employees were new, they were fairly quick in getting the food out. There are some things about their menu that I don't like and find confusing. Everything on the menu appears to be priced well except the burgers. This is because they do not include any toppings other than cheese and a side of 3 optional small pickles to put on the burger. All other toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc) are SOLD SEPERATELY. If I am buying a $9 burger, and you think it is good without toppings, I understand not putting them on the burger, but if someone asks for it, it shouldn't be extra. Once we get past the menu and on to the food itself, I find that Rep's is very correct. The burger, nicely smashed and caramelized, complete with it's cheese and (optional) pickles, needs no other sauce or topping. It is very flavorful, and paired with a nice brioche bun. It really is delicious! The problem is, without any of the extra toppings, it is kind of a small burger for $9. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't need those extra toppings one bit. In fact, after eating it with just the (optional) pickles, I don't think I would want to add anything, but this does make it less filling. So although this won't be an economical place to go if you are super hungry, it is a great place to go for a delicious smash burger. I wish them the best and will be back to try their Big Bad Bird chicken sandwich which sounds amazing!

I was scrolling through Uber Eats and I've seen this restaurant come up as a suggestion several times. Well being that I didn't want anything from the usual fast food options, I decided to give them a chance today. I am overjoyed that I did! The burgers were absolutely delicious & the fries were both crispy and fluffy, with just the right amount of seasoning on them! Nothing is worse than an overseasoned fry. Okay well some things are but you get my point. I did two separate build your own burgers. One for my mom who likes the rabbit food on her burgers, and one for me who wants meat cheese and all the deliciousness! She absolutely devoured hers and loved it and mine was absolutely fantastic. Pure deliciousness! I'm already ready to order from here again tomorrow! The food was fast, fresh, and hot so as far as I'm concerned the service if we went here would be fantastic too! I can't speak to the Ambiance yet because we've only had it delivered but based off the food I would say it's got to be very clean and orderly. I will definitely be getting the burger with the egg on it next time! They are competitively priced as well, especially given that your fries or chosen side are included in the price! Definitely give this place a try if you're near one of their locations I promise you won't be disappointed!

For the hand-cut meats, we tried the brisket and pulled pork. Both were incredibly tender, smoky, and practically melted in your mouth. I was a little worried the mac and cheese would be too spicy because of the Hot Cheetos, but it actually had just the right amount of kick. And Baker's Square closed YEARS ago in SoCal. Missed their pies and baked goods! So imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I found this little place in Palatine! I decided to head there for a brekky on a cool May morning. Stepped in, saw all the breads, pastries, and pies along the front counters- wow. I was greeted warmly and seated instantly. My waitress came right away, and I ordered unleaded (decaf for those in the know). It came in a little pot, ala IHOP, and was really, really GOOD. Wow. Decaf has come a long ways from the Sanka days! I ordered the INN-CREDIBLE V.I.B. which allowed me to order 4 yummy items of my choice - I chose the french toast (yummy and spiced just right albeit w/room temp syrup- not a deal-breaker but notable), a strawberry crepe (totally awesome strawberries, but the crepe was a bit colder than expected); scrambled eggs (always a nice stalwart) and two turkey sausage links (as with the frenchie above, nicely flavored!). The ambience was modern, updated, and felt welcoming and (thankfully) a bit familiar. Brought back some good ol' memories even if only the Baker's Square part of the menu was just pies nowadays. But the Village Inn lives on! And that counts - and I'll return. You should check it out too if you enjoy a good brekky at a classic American diner!

The food was great too! My husband had french toast, and I had the chicken bacon avocado melt and french fries which were so light and airy and fluffy inside, with a perfect amount of seasoning. We didn't even need ketchup, that's how good the fries were. Everything tasted very fresh, and we both loved our food. I took home a slice of blueberry cheesecake pie for later, and am really looking forward to it!
