My husband and I are busy with work and have 2 young children, so I just wanted everything taken care of with no headache, and Palazzo came through for me. It was a big bonus that everything was on time to the schedule I was told to expect, even in this setting of a pandemic/supply chain issues/etc. I choose Palazzo because they could coordinate everything -- the demo, the materials and the install, and then the finishing touches of putting back in the sink and cooktop (several other quotes I got from other places didn't have all of those services coordinated and would have been a ton of work for me to figure out how to get somebody in at the right time). We used Palazzo Kitchen and Bath to install new quartz countertops, backsplash, sink, faucet, induction cooktop and ventilation hood. They are top notch. The showroom has an immense number of choices and the staff are very helpful with suggestions for narrowing down choices on countertops and backsplashes. Felipe, the owner, made a good suggestion of a backsplash similar to one we picked out that turned out to be the one we picked. We liked being able to take samples home to see them in our own kitchen. Felipe explained the process and timeline clearly and checked on several occasions that we understood we would not have a sink for several weeks. The timeline we were given was accurate and it was 4 weeks from demo to installation. The workers were very efficient with the demo. We ended up with a big hole in the drywall under the hood when the tile did not want to come off and the workers assured us it would be fixed quickly, and it was! The very next day the drywall was fixed. One of Palazzo's strengths for us is they did everything - demolition, countertop fabrication and installation, sink and faucet installation, cooktop and ventilation hood installation. We did not have to do any coordination with electricians and plumbers! The customer service is outstanding. Felipe called when he said he would to let us know when workers would be arriving, and when we had a small issue with the faucet he sent someone out the very next day to fix it. 5 star isn't a high enough rating. For many years I've been reading horror stories about contractors who stiff you, are late, do poor work. To say we were concerned on our first kitchen remodel would be an understatement. But, I have to say (loudly) that our full kitchen remodel has been a dream project from beginning to end. Palazzo was helpful (and not pushy) with all the selections and only ventured an opinion on our choices when asked. They took total control of the planning, scheduling, manufacturing and installing of the kitchen components. With a pattern quartz top, matching the flow lines is very difficult. They got it exactly right. The counter patterns flow seamlessly into the back splash and over the edges. Their work crews were friendly, polite, and all around great. They cleaned meticulously after every day. Palazzo hit every production date on time. When they said 8am they knocked on the door at precisely 8am. They even recommended an outstanding cabinet refinisher and scheduled his work to dovetail with theirs. I told Filipe Franca I wanted my total responsibility to be to open the door for them when they started and close it when they were done. He did exactly that. Everytime I look at my bathroom remodel, I am sick. Palazzo did the entire bathroom but didn't bother to level the floor at the time they had everything ripped out, so the tile at the entrance to the shower gets bigger as your eyes move to the left. I seriously thought spending a lot of money would give me a bathroom that I could be proud of but instead I feel mostly ripped off. I should also mention to my disappointment that the area/hole where the shower pipe goes into the wall was not cut right, so the chromed ring that fits flush up against the wall and hides that hole dangles because the pipe is not centered in the hole. This is such basic stuff, how can this happen? It looks like my old crappy apartment in Oakland, except I paid 13k for this? read more

We had our kitchen remodel back in November 2017 and it turned out beautifully. The design consultant, Odie, listened to our needs and wants from the beginning and carried it through the entire process of remodel. We were presented with a quote and they didn't surprise us with any additional fees or things that came up during the construction. The recommendations that Odie gave us around the cabinets was incredibly helpful as well. Very knowledgeable and honest crew members. We were/are very delighted with the outcome of our kitchen remodel. Would highly recommend the Palazzo team, Odie, Arturo and Chuy! Thank you. UPDATE: 6/6/2018 I accidently used super glue trying to fix something on top of our "brand new" Quartz counter and damaged parts of it. It was very noticeable. I was totally in panic and worried that I've permanently damaged our expensive counter. And when I consulted with Odie, he responded quickly and contacted his quartz fabricator to have him come to our house to see if he can remedied the damage. Odie always goes above and beyond for his clients and exceeds expectations to meet the customer's needs. Today, Cheke, the main fabricator, came and fixed the damage that I've caused and it looks as good as new! If I can give Odie and his team 10 stars, I totally would. Having used them in past and been happy with their work we were looking forward to using them on our kitchen project. Jerry Johnson was less then helpful when we stopped in to get and estimate. He was rude and it was difficult to get any information out of him as far as process. We went to a stone supplier to select our material as he suggested. We selected the material and again had a difficult time getting Jerry to respond to our calls. Finally received the updated quote including the material as Jerry said it all runs through Palazzo. In review of the quote we noticed Jerry had tacked on roughly an additional $1000 per slab compared to the price the supplier gave us and when questioned about it his response was "we need to make money too". He also told me that the price he quoted for the fab and install did not have enough profit for them. Their price was not low compared to other quotes we had gotten. So he tried to charge me an additional $3000 for the same material I could purchase myself at the same location! All and all a terrible experience with Jerry and Palazzo from the start. We have been doing a lot of work in our condo because of a water leak. It seem like every time we turned around there was something else popping up. I had about 3 different company's doing stuff. I am even more impressed now than when it was installed. Three years ago, we worked with Odie. It was a pleasant experience because Odie is infinitely patient. We loved how it all turned out, but as time went on I noticed a little problem. I didn't want to feel resentful or leave a negative review without contacting Palazzo. So I emailed Odie and he was able to send Ezequiel out to look at the issue. Ezequiel completely resolved the problem in a very short time! I was speechless! I didn't think it could be fixed. When I got there my daughter (7) was thirsty and bored as often times kids that age are in home improvement type stores ;) Felipe was very kind and got her a drink of water and was VERY patient as I navigated trying to figure out what faucets/finishes I wanted and with me having 2 kids in tow! Our kitchen remodel was the smoothest, least stressful experience I could have hoped for, we are so glad we went with Palazzo! In a year that every business is short on help, this is what we got from Palazzo: 1. high quality workmanship and materials, 2. all of their workers were polite, respectful and on time, 3. the owner, Felipe, and his project manager were in constant communication with me. Palazzo carries many different lines of high end quartz, tile, sinks, etc., so we had many great choices of materials. From the moment I walked into their Concord showroom, I felt welcomed. Felipe gave me suggestions on materials but never pressured me. He was very flexible in letting me taking samples home and working on my own timeline. When the work started, they took care of everything! For example, when my sheetrock got damaged when the old tile came off, they immediately sent someone to repair it, and when we had a bad electrical circuit, they sent someone out the next day to fix it. We love the way our quartz counters were fabricated and installed; you can barely see the seam, and the lines ("movement") continues over the counter edges. We did not know much about countertop fabrication process when we started looking for a company who can install new countertops to our recently remodeled kitchen. There was not that many options in our area, but after some research we found Palazzo Kitchens and Baths. They had great reviews, competitive prices, located in a reasonable distance from our house and were open Saturdays, which was a huge plus for us. After a couple of visits to their store and talking to a business owner, Felipe, we have learned a lot and understood the whole process much better. Felipe was very helpful and took all our requests with personal attention. The slabs that we selected were extremely difficult to work with due to color and pattern variations, but Felipe and his crew went above and beyond to produce a wonderful end result! While providing great recommendations regarding the layout and seam matching, they never forced their opinion and always asked for our approval before starting any work. During the past year Palazzo remodeled all three of our bathrooms in a house built in 1977. We completely gutted and redid our master bathroom, a second full bathroom, and a half bathroom. Had a very good experience working with Palazzo. They worked with me to quote out the kitchen counters I wanted in different materials and ways to get there (full slab, prefab, etc.) They were able to quote out the different parts of the job, (parts, installation, backslpash, plumbing) and let me pick what I was willing to have them do since I wanted to do some of the work myself. This was nice since most places would rather do everything or nothing. They were flexible with me as well - not only allowing me to bring my own sink and faucet but when I called and told them that I would need to trim back and edge from the measurements they initially templated - they worked with me on it. They ended up trimming a half inch on site. I would have appreciated a little more transparency in the scheduling for the installation. They ended up calling me a few days earlier than expected saying it was ready to install. If they had given me a few days notice I could likely have used that time and had running water a few days earlier. read more

Two months ago, my husband and I started a kitchen renovation with Marius construction. It was a modest kitchen make-over: replacing appliances, giving it a face lift (just painting existing cabinets), but also knocking down part of a wall to open up the kitchen/dining room and adding a Carrera marble counter. The counter was still to be chosen when we began, but I stumbled into Palazzo while waiting for the play space, "Studio Grow" to open so my son could burn off some energy one Saturday morning. We had decided almost everything would be purchased from HomeDepot because we had to use scrip from my son's school, but I thought it would be worth wandering around the Palazzo showroom. Immediately, Jennifer helped us and described the difference between pre-fab counters and customer using raw slabs. She was knowledgeable and nice and the price seemed reasonable. With the help of my architect brother, we decided to buy a raw slab and worked with our contractor, Marius to do the installation. Throughout the process, both Jennifer and especially Felipe were wonderfully helpful. There were a couple of surprises which I attribute to having too many cooks in the kitchen (me, contractor, brother, etc.) and there was a major delay with the arrival of the sink which I had purchased online. BUT, Felipe worked through it all and coordinated with Marius' team to solve the problems. Felipe's team doesn't have the best communication, but they were quick, fairly tidy and did a good job (not that I am an expert but I DO love my carrera counter! I was very happy with my guest bathroom remodel. The job included demo-ing down to the studs, replacing a window, changing pipes, repairing dry rot, replacing the sub-floor and shower pan, and installing all new everything. I worked with Jerry, Bruce, Jorge, and Arturo - all very reliable and hard working. I obtained several estimates for the job, and Palazzo was the most reasonable. I like that they have a showroom where you can actually look at tile, vanities, etc. I ordered some tile from Palazzo, and the rest from a place in Berkeley - Jerry ordered the tile and picked it up from the outside vendor which I appreciated. Bruce always showed up on time, worked very hard, and gave excellent suggestions. He always cleaned up thoroughly each day. I trusted everyone in the house even when I was not home. Over 1 month after completion, the toilet was not working properly. Jerry and Bruce made several attempts to repair it, and when Jerry realized that the toilet was defective, he promptly ordered a new one which was installed by Arturo. Since then, it has been working fine. The bathroom looks so beautiful. We have received numerous compliments and even prefer to use that bathroom ourselves! Our Kitchen sink had a 30 inch by 3 inch strip of green granite in the front that had come loose. I thought about fixing it myself, which would have been a huge mistake. Palazzo sent out Ezekiel on a service call. He was thorough and diligent. He covered all nearby areas; cleaned and prepped the surfaces; used shims to make sure the joints were flush, and then used two types of glue to set the granite strip in place. One glue was white and only beneath the granite. Ezekiel used pigments in the other glue to match the green in the granite. He even went so far as to shade the glue a little darker on one side then the other to match the changing color of the granite. I could never have done the job the Ezekiel did. He is very experienced, and, more than that, he cares about doing high-quality work. He spent two-hours and the price was $245, which seemed more than reasonable for his time and effort. read more

I interviewed numerous companies and individuals before choosing this company. to remodel a 30 year old shower enclosure and commode area in my townhouse. I was a real estate broker for over 30 years and had come in contact with numerous contractors, none of whom I wanted to hire to do the job. By far this company was the best I have worked with and the final result exceeded expectations. The way the Palazzo team works was really seamless. Oversight was ongoing while the job was underway. Jerry helped me make decisions and choose materials upfront; the others, Caesar, Arturo and George did excellent work. An unanticipated glitch discovered before the job was finished was handled by the company beautifully. Great products but salesperson is not honest & unprofessional. In the beginning of this project I explained to the salesperson exactly how I wanted the job done. On the first day of the job when the contractor arrived at my home and looked at the bathroom. He stated that the drawing was not correct as to the layout of the bathroom. The salesperson had drawn the faucet to be under the shower head as it was already arranged which was incorrect. So I explained to him that I did not want the faucet under the shower nozzles but instead in the middle of the tub from the rear wall . Once the tub was installed and the contractor found out that it wasn't enough water pressure to run the pipes how I wanted them assembled. The salesperson told me it would cost me an additional $1400 to install it as I told him in the beginning. I told him that I clearly explained to him how I wanted my tub with the faucets and the shower done. He told me the best he could do was to sell it to me at roughly $900. I explained to the salesperson that I should not have to pay for his mistake! He tells me i signed the contract, True, but be a man & have some integrity & own up to your mistake. I asked to speak to his boss and he told me that first he was out to lunch I then continued to ask to speak to his boss and he told me that he did not want to talk to me. At this point I had no option but to pay for this vs get another contractor. As the job progressed I discovered another mistake of the accent tile not being added to an area after the contractor had left. I called the sales person and he tells me the contractor told him that he ran out of tile for that so more tile would have to be ordered. I look downstairs and there's plenty of tile left to do what was supposed to be done! I then recall the salesperson to relate this information to him. He says he will tell the contractor. So now I'm wondering has this tile contractor taken some of my tile for himself or another job. Use them for bathroom project at your own risk! read more

Recently completed 2 1/2 bath remodel and I have never had a more seamless process ( said the woman who did 4 kitchen remodels in the past 10 years). I will start by saying Palazzo sells quality materials and they do not try to upsell. The contractors are their employees, which guarantees accountability and in their case - craftsmanship. I was concerned because my elderly mother lives at the residence, but all of the workers were so pleasant and accommodating, as well as clean and efficient. Pricing was competitive ( if you can put a price on piece of mind). Seriously, these guys make me want to buy another fixer upper and do it all over again. Anyway, my best friend is a measure tech/installer for Home Depot kitchens so he gave me a drawing with exact measurements that I could shop around and get quotes . Palazzo was nice and 500 less than my other best quote so I tried to go with them. On Wednesday (this is early November) I emailed the associate I had spoken with because I wanted to go forward with the service. No response Wednesday or Thursday so I call on Friday and they say oh she won't be back until Tuesday next week. Ok, not the end of the world, still a great price so I wait til Tuesday. I go in and pay them 2k as a deposit with no exact date for their measure to take place only that they would have to measure themselves (which is understandable) but as far as a date I was only told it would be "soon". Friday rolls around and I get a call from the sales manager saying I was severely misquoted. Ok everyone makes mistakes and it was 500 cheaper than everyone else so what's the damage I ask. He has the typical sleazy sales pitch of well it's like 2k more but since we messed up I'll do it for 1k more. Even though this completely rubbed me he wrong way I was already on a "finish by thanksgiving" time frame so I said I'll come in and we'll talk about it. I was hoping to get something else (a free sink or something) for the mess up and going to pay the extra on the down payment they would need. Before I even get there (less than ten minutes) the sales manager calls me back pretty unapologetically saying that he was wrong again they needed another slab and it would be 2k more than my original quote. Wouldn't offer anything and made me wait a good half hour-45 minutes to cut my check back . And like I said, they f'd up and sales manager admits it and still treats me like it was me that did it with hardly an apology or explanation other than that the nice girl was new. Complete bait and switch. Coming from a family of small business owners I tried to go with another small business because I obviously appreciate them but I could never recommend this one. read more
