Let me start by saying that this is the first negative review I've ever written on yelp I'm the 6-7 years I've been using it. One star because the woman at the front was friendly and nice(don't want her to get in more trouble ,they already know who it was). Anyway, my best friend is a measure tech/installer for Home Depot kitchens so he gave me a drawing with exact measurements that I could shop around and get quotes . Palazzo was nice and 500 less than my other best quote so I tried to go with them. On Wednesday (this is early November) I emailed the associate I had spoken with because I wanted to go forward with the service. No response Wednesday or Thursday so I call on Friday and they say oh she won't be back until Tuesday next week. Ok, not the end of the world, still a great price so I wait til Tuesday. I go in and pay them 2k as a deposit with no exact date for their measure to take place only that they would have to measure themselves (which is understandable) but as far as a date I was only told it would be "soon". Friday rolls around and I get a call from the sales manager saying I was severely misquoted. Ok everyone makes mistakes and it was 500 cheaper than everyone else so what's the damage I ask. He has the typical sleazy sales pitch of well it's like 2k more but since we messed up I'll do it for 1k more. Even though this completely rubbed me he wrong way I was already on a "finish by thanksgiving" time frame so I said I'll come in and we'll talk about it. I was hoping to get something else (a free sink or something) for the mess up and going to pay the extra on the down payment they would need. Before I even get there (less than ten minutes) the sales manager calls me back pretty unapologetically saying that he was wrong again they needed another slab and it would be 2k more than my original quote. Wouldn't offer anything and made me wait a good half hour-45 minutes to cut my check back . And like I said, they f'd up and sales manager admits it and still treats me like it was me that did it with hardly an apology or explanation other than that the nice girl was new. Complete bait and switch. Coming from a family of small business owners I tried to go with another small business because I obviously appreciate them but I could never recommend this one. read more

Over 2 years we worked with the great staff at Palazzo to remodel 2 full bathrooms, a half bath and a kitchen remodel that included a complete redesign of the kitchen. The quality of all the work was excellent. One thing we really appreciated is that one main person does the remodel from beginning to end so you are not dealing with multiple new staff for every stage of the remodel. The crews are punctual, clean up before they leave each day and are pleasant to work with. The entire process from sales, to design to construction are customer friendly. And when there was an issue, it was quickly resolved. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend. read more

We just finished working with Felipe Franca and his construction company Palazzo Kitchens and Baths. The work included complete remodel of our master bathroom, redoing our kitchen backsplash, new bathroom counters and sinks in 2 additional bathrooms and a new stone walled media center. All of the work is excellent and all of the workers professional, thorough and skilled (and there were at least 5-6 different guys at our house at various times- ). Felipe runs a smooth operation- is knowledgeable and responsive in his communications. It's nice to see an owner pay attention to the actual work being done. Art was our project Manager and also completed plumbing work in the midst of the Covid Pandemic when work operations were slowed. He is also very professional and detailed oriented. Nearly everyone working at Palazzo is very very nice and have great attitudes toward their customers. They work hard to make sure that the customer is satisfied. We really liked working with Ghena, Arturo and Felipe. When glitches came up they worked with us to resolve them and were good on their word. I would hire this company again, though maybe after they read this, they wouldn't want me to be their customer..... We're picky, I guess. We want Palazzo to succeed and do well but we feel there are some issues. We hired them to do a master bedroom/bath remodel. In the end, the job got done and it worked out well for the most part. Here's what we feel needs improvement: 1. Billed as a design build firm -- no way is there one iota of design knowledge or help with actual design, design problems or real knowledge of what is trending or what might work for your space. 2. Jerry Johnson is to be avoided at all costs. He cannot measure and his errors resulted in weeks of delay. A 7 week job extended to 5 months. He mis-measured a large view window, the amount of tile needed for the bathroom and the heated floor mat among other things. Then he dropped the ball on re-ordering the mat and I had to call the manufacturer myself to get it going. When we had a "Come to Jesus" meeting to straighten out all the glitches, he denied it all and got very into blaming others. EWWW. The other salesmen seem to be very competent so be sure to go with them. 3. The above mentioned mis-measured window was installed and not only did they not tell us that our window was now smaller, but when we discovered it, and we asked that they make it right, they mis-measured it AGAIN! We were very happy that Palazzo did put in a second window and gave us a discount either on the cost of the window or the labor -- can't remember, but in the end we had two windows that got smaller, but it worked out. 4. They are understaffed. They sent us one carpenter/installer to do the whole job. He was super skilled and was really great to have in our house for seven weeks - we'd adopt him for sure. But, he had to rip out quite a bit of work and re-do it. For example, he put in place holders and plumbing for two medicine cabinets but failed to actually look at the vanity that was to stand below it and the placement was wrong. I think this is because of the pressure to work fast and honestly, I think there should have been two guys to do this job and maybe they would have been able to supervise each other. As I said at the beginning, we really like these guys and in the end they really did step up to the plate and were very gracious. Everything worked out more or less. I'm partly complaining for myself, but really I wish I could just tell these guys that if they could do two or three things differently, they would be an AMAZING company: get a real designer (or tell you to bring your own), fire Jerry and hire a a few more tradespeople (I know that last one is very hard in this economy). read more

My wife and I could not be happier with the work performed on our remodeled kitchen. I was very skeptical when she decided to look online for a contractor. I typically prefer to do business with a company based on referrals. We met Rebecca during Covid and immediately felt her passion for the job. She was very patient with my wife throughout the entire process for selecting materials. Even when we made several changes she never showed any frustration. Being in the service industry, it is easy to identify when great service is being received. We were introduced to Felipe later in the process and he was also attentive, professional, and listened to our concerns. He was open and honest as to what our expectations should be and assured us the process would be smooth, which indeed it was. Kudos to Art (project manager) and Arturo who felt like family by the time we were done! Everyone involved in the remodel were courteous, professional and I would highly recommend Palazzo! Design consultation is excellent. Ask for Odie, he is very knowledgeable, patient and has a knack for putting together a perfect design (colors, textures, etc). Palazzo remodeled our master bathroom last year and redid our kitchen lighting. We highly recommend them. They were very professional and efficient. The design of the master bathroom in particular was brilliant -- an elegant and very creative use of space. Their workers are very reliable and highly skilled, and their workmanship is first rate. We would have to agree with Philip R.! We wanted to remodel our kitchen and bathroom for over a year and had several quotes, but they all exceeded what we could afford to spend. Then we found Felipe and his team. We spoke with Felipe on several occasions and we were able to get exactly what we wanted for less than half of all the other quotes we received! Felipe has a great selection of products and he is more than happy to work with you to make sure that you get exactly what you want. Felipe dealt with all the crazy inspectors and guidelines here in San Francisco and made sure everything progressed according to planned. Felipe planned on a 2 month remodel, but he was able to get the job done in 4 weeks!! I have to give his installation team, Ronaldo and Brian, a huge "shout out" because they were absolutely great! They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and did outstanding work! I spoke with Felipe on a daily basis making sure that everything was done the way we wanted. Felipe and his team truly cared about our remodel. They realize it is a stressful situation and they made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. Felipe was the 5th (fellow Yelpers didn't lead me astray!) and only one who recommended Houzz.com for inspiration. It was a stress-free renovation since I mixed and matched everything at the one-stop showroom which has superior quality materials. Felipe also offered design suggestions which were spot on. We worked with Palazzo about four years ago for our master and children's bathrooms and they did such a great job that I knew I didn't want to shop around to see what the costs would be for the kitchen update! We worked with Jerry both times and the first time we had a budget and he managed to keep us well within it! This time he came to the house, looked at the work that we had in mind and then we went to the showroom and he helped pick out the flooring, the countertops and the subway tiles. Today is our first day with everyone out of the house and we keep smiling at how good our kitchen looks! We still need to paint our cabinets but we have a regular painter for that job. Art checked on the work on a regular basis. Felipe (the owner) came to the house a number of times to make sure we were happy when we were unsure of something that hadn't been done properly and fully explained what was going to be done. Felipe helped us create our dream kitchen! We could not be happier with how everything turned out! It is honestly a dream come true! We were very meticulous about everything (it is our kitchen, after all, and we wanted it perfect), but Felipe and his team were so professional during the whole process. Palazzo's did the most PHENOMENAL job installing new granite, replacing appliances, new plumbing etc... in our very large kitchen and butler pantry. We also had enough granite out of our 5 slabs to redo an upstairs bathroom vanity. Felipe and his entire staff were professional, on time, and left our home very, very clean. Very positive experience working with this company on a major kitchen remodel project, which involved taking out an interior wall, removing everything from the original kitchen and dinette area down to the studs, and starting from scratch. Palazzo employees were all very professional and treated me as a full partner in the project. They are very customer service oriented and resolved any problems that came up. Their workmanship was excellent; communication likewise. Products and materials used are of high quality. We just finished our kitchen remodel. The whole project took about 7 weeks. When I contacted Palazzo I had already picked out all materials and I really just needed a labor quote. Not only did we do the kitchen but we replaced the floors and baseboard in over 1/2 the house. All of the employees who worked in our home were courteous and skilled. I am working on remodeling a bathroom in another state which is always stressful and complicated. I stopped in to Palazzo to check how the two finishes (two different golds) I'd selected for my hardware and fixtures looked in person. Luckily, they had both manufacturers (Brizo and Amerock) and both finishes and I was able to side-by-side compare the two. Palazzo just completed the third job in our home. The latest was our master bathroom. We could not be more happy with the results, the room is beautiful. Palazzo is not the least expensive option, and probably not the fastest. So if you're looking for an inexpensive, speedy contractor, Palazzo may not be right for you. What they do is quality work at a fair price, executed by some true craftsman. Jorge, the tile guy was fabulous. Kiersti, the designer, was with us all the way. Helping us choose materials, suggesting design and layout, scheduling workers, and following up on any questions and changes we had as work progressed. I called Palazzo to get some help on a leaky toilet that I suspected would turn into something larger (i.e., replacing the subfloor around the toilet due to water damage). Kiersten took my call and had Jerry - one of their project managers call back about 2 hours later. Jerry and I talked about my situation, and advised it's probably better to have a plumber come out and do the initial inspection/ repair as his crew is booked out until September on current work. The first thing that stands out about Palazzo is the customer service. Right away Rebecca greeted us and made us feel welcome. No waiting or wandering around in a big box store, for someone who's not that interested, to help you figure out where things are and guide you in the right direction. Soon we were provided with multiple samples and catalogs for us to review. Then we were given the space to mull things over. In the meantime, another gentleman offered us water and showed our son the toy room to make it easier for us to communicate amongst ourselves. After we narrowed down our choices, Rebecca helped us compare details and pricing. She was able to get us significant discounts on the faucet we wanted and very little wait for delivery. I really can't see the advantage of going to a big box store where the customer service is subpar and the selection and cost only appear better. We had a GC come to our home to discuss a remodel, but were insulted by the guy. We read lots of positive reviews about Palazzo, so we went down on a Saturday and received immediate attention from Jerry. He visited our home several times, and in turn, we visited the show room several times making the decisions we needed for the remodel. We weren't really prepared to spend what the remodel quote indicated, we decided to bite the bullet to update our 29 year old kitchen. We did the tear out of our old kitchen, down to the studs, and hired a separate company to purchase and install our new flooring which included our large great room. Arturo was the project manager on site, he was phenomenal and is a wonderful representative of Palazzo. Every employee of Palazzo was polite, courteous, and efficient. They cleaned every day and did all they could to minimize the disruption to the rest of our home. We are extremely pleased with the resulting new kitchen and pantry. Every product installed was top notch, exactly as we expected. Our very long/large kitchen island table, is the talk of the town, its gorgeous! The quartz throughout the kitchen is beautiful and perfectly installed. Honestly, the skilled workers were top notch. Every city inspection was timely and was approved. The only reason we are not giving them 5 stars is because of the sales/quoting process. There were several items that were not correctly measured or calculated, that Jerry would not stand behind and honor his quote, so we felt he was nickel and diming us. It was our first experience of having a contractor not stand behind their quote when it was their mistake or oversight that caused the problem. You could not move Jerry to be apologetic. He was polite and courteous, but not willing to accept responsibility for his mistakes. At one point, he quoted us in writing for an adder item at our request, we accepted it, only to be told on a phone call that the owner would not honor the quote, in fact it was doubled. Some very obvious things were omitted from his quote that we didn't catch, and the adders were ridiculously high. We have the kitchen of our dreams, and for that, we are thankful. Would we use them again? Most likely, but we would be sure to read the fine print and settle any discrepancy before signing the contract and making the down payment. We went back and forth about a bathroom remodel over the course of a year. Palazzo's quote was on the high end but not outrageous compared to other bids. They have a nice showroom but I found some options were lacking (like vanity tops). What irked me the most was their lack of interest in our business. Each time we went back to them for a question, they answered it, but never followed up and never seemed to care if they got our business (or find out why in the end they didn't). Maybe they are doing so well they don't need more clients but when spending so much on a home project, I want to feel like I'm a priority. read more

We hired Palazzo to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom. We had a few hiccups but it turned out beautifully. I was so happy, I had them come back and remodel my other 2 bathrooms and retile my entryway and fireplace. Kiestri was my designer and she is wonderful! I needed someone to take me out of my comfort zone and show me designs I would never have considered otherwise. It was easy to bounce ideas of her and collaborate over the finished design. Palazzo has a design center that one can easily find materials. Arturo is the project manager. He was great at answering my questions that came up as the work was being done. The in store customer service was very good, they were knowledgeable and helpful. But their follow-up left a lot to be desired. Two of the three items were late being delivered. In the case of the shower doors, we were not given a delivery date at time of ordering. We were told it would be the last item to come in. We were told the vanity would take 3-5 business days, it took 10 business days. I called the store to find out when I could expect the shower doors and was told that they were out of stock and had to come from Canada and it would take 4-6 weeks. When we went into the store they tried to sell us on another style door but we were set on the ones we ordered. Eventually, two days later, they found the doors at another store and had them delivered their store where I had to pick them up. read more

Came in here this morning looking forward to find what we needed and to get help with what we were Looking for. Unfortunately as we entered there were three people and NO ONE greeted us maybe because we were Latinas. Finally someone greeted us 10 minutes after we were there. Then he answered one question and he disappeared didn't even ask if we had other questions or if there was anything else that he could get for us. There was another Caucasian couple and they looked like they were being rushed them selves the person working with them kept looking at his watch like if he had somewhere to go and didn't have time for their questions. Not a good thing to do. That's fine we will find a business that will greet us and want our money. read more

We have a smaller kitchen and desperately needed a new kitchen counter. After doing a lot of homework, and seeing new counter jobs (that didn't look good) that friends had done by OTHER companies, we decided to try Palazzo. What a fantastic job! Our new quartz counter is perfection! The installers were excellent, very polite and cleaned up after their perfect installation of our new counter even to my picky standards! I didn't think there was any hope for my crappy kitchen and Palazzo proved me wrong! Even though our job was a smaller one in the kitchen remodel world, Palazzo treated us like we had requested a whole kitchen restoration.
