Huge improvement on the wine tasting place formerly occupying the building. Delicious, cornmeal crusted pizza, large selection/wall of beeers on tap, and when we were there (may just be an occasional thing) they had a bounce house in front which kept the kids entertained for hours. read more

I went to pour the sour and it seemed like it was out, so I got the sun cruiser, but when we sat and sipped, a guy came around to ask if we had any issues, we explained a couple, he explained why air bubbles happen sometimes in the morning and gave us free pours to compensate! During my recent visits to Palisade in western Colorado, I noticed a new pizza restaurant just off I-70. It has a large grassy area out front that the kiddos play on especially in the afternoon where's it shaded. The entrance has posters about fellow families supporting agriculture on the east end of Grand Valley. They primarily serve pizza with a large beer wall featuring wines, beers, cocktails and ciders. You order at a counter, show your I.D. to get a white access card for the beer wall and your phone nbr to text you when your salad and pizza is ready. The beer wall is easy to use, but I messed up a few times and forgot to make sure the spigot was off before swiping access card & start pouring. So a little bit of alcohol went down the drain. Jake O took my order. Nice side salad for $6.50; larger salads are available for larger groups. I got a 10in custom pizza with a red sauce base, Italian Sausage, Bacon and Pepperoni with jalapeños, mushrooms and chunks of Palisade peaches all for $16. I chose the Derocco Fruit wine from the beer wall. Derocco's tasting room is next door and owned by the same owners of the restaurant. You can pay via QR code on your initial receipt of go back to counter to finalize the charges. No service charges. read more

It's not anything that I had experienced before. You walk in, order your pizza at the counter and get a beer tab. Making your beverage choices from the wall selection and pour your own. 20 minutes later the pizza is ready. It was fantastic experience. Conveniently located just off I70 at the Palisade exit it's easy on and off the highway with plenty of parking for those RVs, toy haulers, etc. Service is friendly and efficient. I was surprised at how large this business is. There's loads of parking, and it's needed. The attractive lawns and sidewalks lead you to two options - on the left behind the porch swings is a wine shop with quite a few gift kiosks, and some quiet tables. We found a few items we "needed," but in general the merchandise prices were high, and many items had no prices indicated or were on shelves marked with incorrect prices. Luckily the employee was cheerful about checking prices for us. The larger portion of the building is the pizzeria. It's very large, high-ceiling, very noisy (at least on trivia night) and full of energetic patrons. The seating is open; you order and pay at the counter. We chose the special pizza, 10", and shared a large green salad with grilled peach slices added. The Za was terrific. I generally prefer thinner crust, but this wood fired crust was nicely charred and cooked through. Squeeze bottles of honey wait on the tables We only ate 2 of the 4 pieces of pizza, and leftovers were delicious for lunch the next day. The salad greens were reasonably fresh, and the peach slices were fabulous. Packaged croutons on the top were an odd addition, but the wide gratings of fresh Parmesan compensated. On the side was much more balsamic dressing than we needed. The employee we met in the wine shop came around with samples of a tasty Merlot. Skip this place if you want to chat easily with your dining companions, but definitely come here if you want to circulate like at a cocktail party. read more

We had to stop here to try out their seasonal peach pizza. This place is huge. It's pretty too. The lawn reminds me of a resort. They have inside and outside seating. They also have a second story. You order at the counter and they text you when it's ready. They have a beer wall that also has wine. You get a bracelet and when you're ready for a pour, you tap it and get as much as you want. The screen will show you how many ounces you have served and how much it is. The peach pizza was surprisingly very good. I didn't expect to like to so much. I orders a small one with a side salad. The side salad was a good size too. They had peach samples at the counter. The peaches are so good. Staff was super nice. They explained how everything worked. They have corn hole outside. Overall, everything was good. Huge place in the city center of Palisade. They have pour your own beers which is fun/interactive. It's counter service too. The pizza was super spicy -- even the pizza sauce had a spice which I don't prefer. And the sausage was spicy. Maybe plain cheese would have been the move but afraid it still would have had a spice. I've been here twice, once just after they opened and again just a few days ago. Both times, my order was not taken correctly and I didn't get what I asked for. Double check your order and check before paying. Worst is the dough, it seems that they are trying to do something between a Neapolitan and NY Style crust, the result is a sort of a hybrid that flavor wise is OK, but has no crisp or char. The bottom was cooked, but very little browning. The toppings are pretty good. Beer and wine selection are self-serve by scanning a wrist band. All in all, not a terrible experience, but it was disappointing. The pizza is average at best, at least in my opinion. Secondly, there is zero table service, you stand in line to order, you get a notification via text that your food is ready, you pick up your food and silverware, pour your own beverage. Yet when it comes to paying the check, there's options for paying a tip. The service is no better than typical fast food. The idea of tipping for this type of service or lack there of is ridiculous. The ambiance is pretty good. It's not a bad place to take kids or a group, though it can get a bit noisy. Beer selection is pretty good. In the end not a terrible experience, but in my opinion there are better pizza options in the area. read more

Nestled right at the town's entrance, this Palisade pizzeria is a must-stop. The crust snaps under each bite with freshly made toppings. Their seasonal peach salad with juicy orchard fresh peaches makes the difference. We ordered the medium size bowl and it was a big portion for 4 of us to share. This pizza is very good. The crust is amazing. I also like the creative twist to some of my favorites. I got the Whole Caboodle, which is similar to a supreme, but has some flavor added to it in the form of a cream cheese spiral drizzle. The fries were gone in a few minutes. They were flavorful. Stopped here for lunch on the way home. Pretty slow, but we enjoyed the quiet. Ordered the whole Caboodle. Very good pizza with a nice crust. Had leftovers with 14" for the two of us eating. Also got a small pour of Face down Brown since I didn't want to get sleepy for the drive east. You are able to pour as little as you want and that's all you pay for. Only complaint is despite all the beers, only 1 or 2 were of any interest to me. Numerous mass produced beers took up a lot of the selection. Was hoping for more local smaller craft brews from CO. Otherwise we enjoyed our stop, the pizza and atmosphere. Easy stop off I70 as well. read more

Overall, great food and atmosphere. It's a family friendly place but also a prefect spot for drinks with friends. I definitely recommend the garlic Parmesan fries! One thing to be cautious of though, make sure the person taking your order gets your payment card before ordering, if you don't you will be charged twice and have to wait for processing to happen in order to get your money back. Very cool place! We loved the open space, the generously sized tables, and of course the beer wall! We got 10" pizzas (BBQ chicken is good!) and the dough bites are really good too. I absolutely loved the marina sauce which was incredible and quite possibly the best I've had! I wish more was served with the basket since one small dish of it wasn't nearly enough for the 3 of us to share. The food took a long time to come out and we saw several people who ordered after we did get their food before us, but at least everything we tried was delicious! We love the views and the grassy spaces and definitely want to come back soon! Great way to spend the afternoon with our toddler. read more

I've been coming to Palisade Pizza and Pourhouse for several months now. I've been consistently impressed a the quality of the pizza and the laid-back casual atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and energetic. The "pour-wall" provides a novel fun twist on the pizzeria hangout. I've seen events si ch as trivia night absolutely packed with folks. The location is outstanding, with plenty of grassy outdoor space for little ones to run around. Definitely give this place a try. It is going to definitely become a staple of the growing Palisade scene. read more
