Ashley P was the manager of Palm Beach Tan on Independence Pkwy in Plano during the second half of 2025. She then became the manager of Palm Beach Tan at Garden Park Drive in Allen in late December 2025. Ashley P was the *best* PBT store manager ever. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. More importantly - she was *patient and understanding* of customer needs. She was always Kind to customers. Ashley P understood the importance of customer service on a *personal level*. She was always helpful whenever I purchased upgrades, lotions, and spray tans. When she saw me approaching the PBT store - Ashley P checked me in for 1 of the 3 tan beds that I preferred. Wonderful customer service. I appreciated Ashley P's friendly greeting each time that I entered the PBT store. I enjoyed brief conversations with her - when there were no customers needing assistance. Thank you Ashley P. I always appreciated you. I always looked forward to my next visit at PBT. Terrible customer service. I walked in at 6:50 PM and I was told that both of the spray tan booths were down and not working all the while I could hear one of the spray tan booth running in the background. What a terrible thing to do as a business don't keep your store open until 7 PM if you're not willing to help paying customers until 7 PM. read more

I requested a spray tan prior to my trip to Mexico. They really try to upsell you on everything. I agreed to the skin tone additive so "I wouldn't come out orange." The real problem is, after requesting a medium tan, I left as pale as I came in. I used the tanning booth and I honestly believe the employee forgot to put the color in the booth and they sprayed air on me. I had absolutely zero color change. Alexis told me the beds shut off immediately at 7:00. If the entire store loses power immediately at 7:00 I find this to be a terrible safety hazard. What if someone was trapped inside and there are no lights or power to see like Alexis told me how would someone be able to see and find their way out? I am terrified to go back to this location because Alexis said she programmed the entire building to shut down right at 7:00. Is Alexis a certified electrician? Just came back to renew my membership here after cancelling just before covid and unfortunately I could not be more disappointed. The two front desk girls were eating candy and chewing with their mouth open right in front of me smacking their lips complaining about how they had caramel in their teeth and were talking about how they were upset that they had customers and wouldn't be able to leave early. They were also saying how wanted to leave the facility a mess for their coworkers to clean in the morning. They were way more concerned with complaining loudly than paying attention to the customers waiting in line who were also unamused by their childish behavior. When I had the gall to ask about the difference between a Versa/Mystic tan, they scoffed and said "I don't know, I don't do spray tans. I mean, the Versa has a door open and the Mystic the door is closed. I think the Mystic includes a scent but that's about it." They were no help at all. Then one of the employees said "oh! On Thursday the spray tans are free!" seconds after she charged my card and looked at her coworker in panic. She tried to pretend she didn't say that and muttered under her breath "oops..." Me: oh, what is the Thursday special? Her: on Thursday spray tans are free Me: wait, how come I was just charged $40? Doesn't that apply to me? Her: oh, you needed to request it be free Me: okay, I'm requesting it now Her: sorry, it's too late Me: ...wow, that's not really right - don't you think? Her: ugh, sorry She knew she did the wrong thing because she refused to make eye contact with me after. I thought the customer service was poor before I cancelled but now that I'm back it's even worse. I'm honestly really disappointed that I paid $100 total today for no information, poor customer service, and to be scammed out of a special. I'll give them one or two more shots in the following days when I come back for bed tanning but I'm fairly certain I will be taking my money elsewhere. *sigh* read more

I purchased the Diamond package the 5th of May. The lady charged me for a 100 dollar bottle of lotion that I did not request. I told her about it and wanted my BANK account credited for her mistake. Here it is the 15th of May and no results. I have asked for the manager to call me and again no response. I will cancel my package this coming week. Poor customer service. read more

When first signing up I was offered a second month for half off. Had this offer not been on the table I would have declined the second month. Come month #2 I was charged $35. $40/2=$20, I swear. When talking to the manager about this issue he claimed he was there when I signed up and told me that I was lying and refused to do anything about it. Just talked to the sweetest, most patient girl over the phone. Told her my Texas Tan story. They changed their hours without any notice. I work some nights past 8 & 9 pm. Went to Texas Tan in (which I just last month signed a member ship) and they changed the hours. Was closed at 8 when I got there.Hours were till 10. I was so pissed. So I called Palm Beach Tan in Allen. The sweet girl who was working on 1/28/16 @ 10 pm Answered all my questions. Their hours are ideal. They were running an excellent deal. When I arrived there were two people in front of me. One hour later, the special I was emailed that day was not honored. A package double the costs was offered. I elected to just buy 2 tanning sessions and ask that the manager call me. At last being assigned a room, the bed did not work. After two inquiries I discovered the bed had been used. I had laid down in someone else's sweat. Yuck! The staff member there was slammed with traffic and could not get beds clean. It was truly a miserable experience. I've gone here forever, and given them a TON of business. They have the monopoly in the area, so there's not many other options. If you don't buy a package, their prices are ridiculous! $20 for a package of lotion? You're better off buying your lotions on amazon. They were doing $10 spray tans on Monday, but they just took them away again so that's really annoying. I showed up to the Frisco location and she wouldn't honor the same deal from last Monday. It's hit or miss. Then I received a $50 credit for being a long-time member via email, but the girl said it was only good on a $100 purchase! I've also had 2 times where I froze my account for travel, and they emailed me a $25 credit for unfreezing. However, the credits never showed up on my account and then there were stipulations on what it could be used for. All of their "deals" are just money-making scams. I also had a girl at Frisco sell me a $100 lotion saying it was an intensifier for higher level beds, but when I brought it to another location she said it was just a bronzer but no intensifier. She tried to then sell me another $100 lotion. They seem to all be focused on their commission rather than actually caring about taking care of the guests actual needs. The beds are ok, and the place is clean. Just not impressed with them trying to take money out of my pocket every time I utilize the membership I already pay for. read more

Worst experience ever!!! You have some 35 y/o behind the counter that can't answer any questions and his response is "I'm just the guy behind the counter" really!? Great customer service friendly response.. pulls up my account and saves I have been to all the locations around the area.. nope!! Haven't been to 1! I LOVE this location! I recently went to the Uptown (West Village location) since it is walking distance from my work. What a mistake! This led me to write a review on this one. The staff at WV was so rude and the bed was greasy and disgusting so I ended up cleaning it myself. I talked to management and mentioned they should go off of Allen's customer service. Because this is the ONLY tanning salon that has had a genuinely friendly, helpful, and knowledgable staff, (I walked into 2 or 3 for pricing) I came in about 2 weeks ago to prepare for a cruise and had a ton of questions! The staff answered my 100 questions happily and made me feel a lot better about bed tanning for the first time in about 7 years! I had the pleasure of meeting the regional manager in my trip there and she is just the sweetest. I had a tight budget at the time so I opted out of face lotion for my first tan and she let me use a bit of her personal one!! I always feel so welcomed when I walk in and I have yet to come across a staff member sending an unpleasant "don't wanna be here" vibe. I am so happy I walked into this location versus the WV to sign up otherwise I probably would still be pale because I wouldn't want to put up with that place for even 10 minutes of my day. This is a less convenient location for me but I'm happy to go out of my way just for the friendlier staff and squeaky clean beds! Customer service, training, and education is top notch at this salon. Palm Beach needs to give the regional manager AND this amazing staff props for the good work! read more
