I have tanned at this place for years I've never really had a bad experience until today I signed up almost a month ago and I've been coming in regularly every day today I came in and the girl told me I had a back payment of $35 I asked her for what and she explained to me that I asked for my account to be frozen in 2020 when I asked her you guys closed in 2020 for Covid she didn't have an answer to begin with I didn't have an account in 2020 or 2019 I only go for two months at a time and then then I cancel i've been doing that for years ‍ I just feel like this place just wants more and more and more money when I signed up it was $65 Plus a $20 sign at fee and then I was told I had to sign up for two months which was fine with me but I just feel like they're just all about the money read more

My GF and I have been coming this salon for some time now, 10 years maybe ? The service has always been great and all the girls are very friendly, nice and polite. We were in this past Tuesday and had the pleasure of meeting Haylee. After leaving we got to chatting and wondering if we have really missed out on this much info or, are not all employees this interested in they're job ? Since we've been going I was never told I could maintain my tan with a certain bed ? There was also a few other things she brought up that we were not aware of. Shouldn't all of your staff be doing the same to look out for the best interest in your customers ? I would think this would be a standard requirement ? Am I wrong ? They don't let you cancel!!! **caution** If you attempt to cancel and have an outstanding balance, they don't let you cancel and continue to charge you monthly until you have a 0 balance. They DO NOT let you know this. We had NO problem paying our balance and were expecting a final bill following cancellation since they would NOT allow payment over the phone. They just do not allow you to cancel, and do not let you know you haven't been canceled, and continue to accrue your membership payments. This membership is a SCAM. I wanted to revise my previous review because I'm very disappointed in my previous experience with Palm Beach Tan. Originally yes, great experience but a few months after they had changed their company/service structure and required non-members to sign up for a spray tan membership rather than a one time use/fee for the service. Last year when this happened around July/August they had not updated their website and now they have to reflect the new change. Yet I'm very disappointed and think this is a bit ridiculous to be honest. You expect consumers to pay a monthly membership "x" months out the year when it's cold? And you expect customers to pay for a spray tan membership that they wouldn't really use every month but rather have that money go into their own pocket. To each there own, if your a spray tan advocate and don't mind then great pay the membership. However for those that enjoy the service and don't mind paying a one time fee but don't want a membership. I think it just doesn't make sense not only is your business loosing money but you're not thinking of your other clientele. read more

Guilty of not checking credit card statements every month over close to $9.00 a month and didn't know I was still being charged for those 2 years until they called me to tell me they could not process the charge. Changed my credit number when I realized I was being charged. It is their policy that they DO NOT REFUND which i don't think is legal? That's my next step to find out. This is a pretty good tanning salon. I really enjoy the variety of beds which range from your simple standard bed to Sun Angel (the most awesome bed) which scans your skin and adjusts the bulbs based on your skin color. Thank goodness for creations like this because they help us fair skinned folk get our color on. The front desk staff is why I like this place. They are super knowledgeable, friendly and always engage me in conversation when I visit. I feel very welcome and appreciated as a customer. Here's a big bonus - once you are a member for a certain amount of time, they upgrade you for a month. I received an email yesterday which upgraded me to a higher status so I can use all the beds in the facility without paying extra. read more

Do Not sign up for a membership!! I was not told about the $20 membership fee They said there was a 30 day moneyback guarantee. I only got two spray tans and they were blotchy and horrible. When I called, Amanda to get a refund, she told me that she added up all the services I received(2 spray tans) and it went over my monthly charge, which was only supposed to be $60. But it was $79 Nov 20 another $26 December 1, so I paid over $100 for two spray tans, does that sound right? . I don't think so. . I am so sad that Planet Beach had to close their doors because of Covid. I had a membership with them for years. for $60 it included spray tan, tanning bed, red light therapy , hydration bed, , red light therapy facials.. And the staff were all so nice and friendly. Don't give these guys your credit card info. False Advertising! I got my wife a $100 gift card. Manager Roxy or Roxeanne, said they needed a credit card to attach to account. We signed up for the 2 month trial which was $74.95 for Diamond Membership with unlimited use for first month, second month would only be $20. When the time comes to check my statements, they charged me $86.74 instead of the $20, and again $83.45 for another month which I didn't authorize. I call to speak to manager but not there, employee takes my number down and manager calls 3 days later. She is denying the promo and pretends to not know what lies her employees are selling. Do not join here. Could not wait to cancel. The girls here have no sense of urgency to check guests in, so expect a line that takes 20-30 minutes just to get into a bed. They also put me in a faulty bed, and I didn't know. I asked for 9 minutes and it shut off at six. When I told them this they told me it was my fault and could not let me get those 3 minutes and said I had to wait 24 hours to tan again. Then they promised a manager would reach out and no one ever did. Then when I wanted to cancel my member ship ( you are locked in to 2 months) no one answered the phone for 2 days straight so I had to call another salon to help and get a corporate number. When a district manager got back to me she defended everything including the ridiculous wait to get in. Which I explained is because one girl spends 5-10 minutes with a guest signing them up and the other is just off doing laundry or wiping things instead of cutting down the line. Which she said is fine it's the area which makes it busy. No it isn't. I'm excited to go back to my old salon where there is no wait, no 24 hour rule, they answer the phone, and where the manager is on site for any issues. **DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE** I am beyond pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been getting charged for the past 8 months!!! This is no exaggeration! I have not been in there for the past 9 months!!!! I keep calling to cancel my membership but I have to go in there personally to cancel it. I keep asking for a manager and when I do get transferred to a manager she can't do anything for me! I always get the same bs! "You can freeze your account online" well guess what!!!! I've tried multiple times but there is no option to Freeze your account online !!!!!!!!!! I called and I asked for help.. They said the manager was not in. She returned my call 2 days later but I had been charge AGAAAAIIIINNNNNNNN.. I'm so over this place!!! Woke up this morning for another charge and it gets me so mad!!!!!!!!!! I'm paying for something for almost a year that I have not even used!!!! You think that for the past 9 months of I were able to go in and do it I would!! But it's nearly impossible for someone that works 14hr shifts 6 days a week!! Let me mention that when I did live in the area I still worked as much and sometimes I did not have the time to go in. So did you know your services expire? Yeah you pay for them but if you don't go in within the certain time they expire ?!!? What the hell?! Why did I ignore such horrible service !!! I was not going to mention my first visit but you know what I'm so done with this place!!! My first visit was horrible! My co worker referred me.. I went and got the mystic. It was my very first time ever tanning. I did not hear the machine ever tell me to turn around.. Which is a simple mistake it was my first time the guy working there even said it "it happens all the time to newbies" I was freaking out that I only got sprayed in the front so I skated to go back in and they charged me so I ended up paying about $80 for my first visit. Membership and all. The next day I told my co worker about the experience and she said that her first time it was the same way but they did not charger her because it was just a simple mistake. She called the manager and the manager had me talk to her personally and offered me a complimentary Mystic session. Which I was not expecting. The next time I went in I told the front desk that the manager said I had a complimentary session if I could please use it. Front desk said it wasn't showing on my account. The manager Jenny is so helpful and sweet! I haven't spray tanned in years and I am very pale. I was nervous to try it again because i was going to a bachelorette party. She recommended me getting a dark spray with mocha island and a primer. I felt AMAZING with my spray and my friends couldn't believe how well it turned out! I will definitely be returning for every event from now on and i would recommend this salon to anyone! I will never come back. The customer service is horrible and they are so RUDE. They will trap you into signing up and over charging you. Even when you freeze your account they still charge you a fee. When I ask why I'm getting over charged they rudely explained it and made no sense! I even tried to be nice and just stick through the whole month because I was being charged. From there every time I walked in the staff would have a negative attitude. For that I am NOT coming back. The lay down tanning bed is horrible. It didn't give me an even tan. Some area was lighter and some area was darker. Plus, I would have to come in more frequently just to get a shade darker. However, moving to a stand up bed was better, but cost more. The staff will charge you without explaining anything. The tan is much more even and faster results. read more

I started a week long free trial and after being generally impressed, I purchased a silver level membership. The staff here is always so friendly and helpful. I don't feel like they are constantly trying to upsell me like most tanning salons. This place is always so cleanly and I have never had to wait for a bed. They are very helpful in suggesting tan times and adjusting times for their customers. Their prices aren't an amazing deal, but it is in line with other salons and they have nice benefits for joining and for staying every month. EDIT: Quitting was quite the process. I went in and cancelled and then got charged the next month. So I emailed customer service and they would not refund me the fees, but assured me I was cancelled and wouldn't get charged anymore. The next month came around I got charged again! So I called my local shop and she walked me through cancelling online, once again. I cancelled through the form online and finally it worked and I didn't get charged for the next month. So frustrating! I'm sorry to say, although friendly, the staff was not explicit when I signed up for a membership nor thorough in resolving issues. I was visiting from another country this past April. I am a California native but have been living in Italy for over a year now. I wanted something short term because I was only visiting for a month and wanted to be tan for a wedding I was part of. The young lady who opened my membership said the memberships are month to month and I could cancel any time. AFTER running my debit card, she asked me to sign some electronic agreements; 1) regarding tanning safety policy and 2) automatic debit agreement; not until this point did she explain I would be billed a 2nd month (in May) and AFTER that debit, I could cancel. She did NOT say this prior and I explained to her I am leaving at the end of the month. Had she been explicit in the details of the membership, I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID EVEN THE FIRST MONTH. I even showed her my flight details. She told me not to sign the electronic agreement for automatic debits and I did not. She said she will leave a note on my account. I called a couple weeks later to ensure I would not be billed for May and was told by employee Tre, that he DID see note on account and would inform manager when she returns to salon to call me back, I did not receive a call. He also gave me a customer service number of 972-248-1504 but it was disconnected when I called. Furthermore I had a temporary U.S. SIM card & calling plan because I was only in the country for the month of April. I submitted a cancellation request on the company website and received a suggestion to suspend my membership - but I don't live in California. So, that suggestion was not helpful. I will also file a formal complaint to go along with this review. read more
