Well-maintained machines, great customer service, great management. My wife goes to this location regularly as we have a home in LA and one in OC. The OC location needs to take lessons from the Brentwood location as they run a much better ship in LA. When my wife leaves this location, she's always satisfied and happy with the results that she paid for, as well as the management and customer service. Laguna Niguel? Not so much. They also don't allow appointments, which is frustrating. Great beds and cleanliness although the staff is all over the place. Everytime I come to this location to be exact they don't greet you. Weather they are talking amongst each other or on their phone they will have you stand there for 5 minutes before even acknowledging you. This location is the BEST! The facility just had a full remodel. It looks modern and is always super clean. They also just upgraded their machines and the new options are great. Room 1 has a higher end bed that makes you SO dark, totally worth the extra money for a better membership package. They also have red light package options. This used to be my favorite PBT tan location with the best service. Ever since the merger with the Venice location, where they consolidated staff from Venice PBT to Brentwood PBT upon Venice PBT closing, the Brentwood location quality has sadly gone dramatically down overall. Suddenly "all 3 machines" are conveniently broken and I'm constantly being told when it's within the last hour of closing, suddenly all machines are "broken". Unfortunately, I've had friends have the same experience where during the day they have a different experience than the night crew who is closing. As someone whose been loyal for years to PBT I find it disturbing that multiple machines are "broken" more regularly then they are fixed the closer they get to closing hour. I just can't help but question is it just that the staff has cleaned the machines and doesn't want to clean them again so they have decided while on the clock to just say it isn't working anymore. This was something the Venice store used to say, not the Brentwood location now suddenly the Brentwood location is "having all these problems". I've heard from other PBT Brentwood membership customers that they too have caught the staff in lies saying devices are "broken" when in fact the staff working is just trying to close early then the hours listed on the door & website, which isn't quality service for loyal paying members. If it is truly that all 3 spray machines consistently are in fact breaking down, then maybe it's time for management alongside ownership to invest in replacing with new higher quality machines for the mystic & versa. If it's a staffing education gap on how to properly care for the mystic/ versa, maybe training is needed to better support team members. Hoping there is more clarity moving forward on what customers can expect from Brentwood PBT. Either way something needs to change since the quality & reputation of Brentwood PBT has sadly been going down hill in the most recent months & I truly hope they turn it around since they will be continuing to lose customers in a competitive LA market. read more

This place was truly the biggest scam and nightmare a person can ask for. They try to upsell you on their expired products then proceed to say the products are not expired though the bottom of it says last month. Additionally, upon asking for a receipt, the big blonde girl was unable to provide one saying they do not give receipts. That was a huge red flag after she told me several different options on purchasing a tan via her upsells. Then, proceeded to call their "district manager" who is not available to talk on the phone. This place is an absolute scam. Definitely go to sugar & bronzed for your spray tans. This place will be closed soon anyways. read more

It's really tough to account for all the ways this place disappoints, but for the patient reader, I'll share my tale. To preface my review, this is the first time I've ever gone to a tanning salon. After many summers of getting burned at the beach on my twice-annual outing, I decided to try slowly building a base, rather than risking it all on a full day at the beach. I gave this same preface to the woman who received me at this Palm Beach Tan location. She responded by offering me several tiers of monthly packages, each increasing in amenities and power, ultimately highlighting Diamond as the best value for deep bronzing. I quickly dismissed deep bronzing as way beyond the goals I previously laid out. "What's the difference between the bottom two tiers - Silver and Gold?" I asked. She said "oh, silver isn't even worth your time. It will take you forever to even build a base. I would just start with Gold, and you can decide monthly from there." She then proceeded to upsell me on some absolutely-necessary tan-enhancing lotion for over $120 a bottle. On a per ounce basis, this stuff is almost double or triple the value of the top tier dermatologist-recommended body lotions. "No thank you," I said. I'm good to just start slow and see how this goes. For my first session, she recommended I do full time (12 minutes on a gold bed). I suggested maybe we do less than full time and see how that goes. Maybe half that? She sounded a little annoyed that I didn't take her recommendations, but I believe she agreed to set me for the minimum of 7 minutes. Multiple times after this I had to correct whoever was checking me in to drop me down from full time to "whatever I was doing before." Twice this didn't happen, and I didn't catch it while it was happening. I got two of the worst sunburns I've ever had in my life from this place out of pure carelessness. Really uncomfortable to shower, sit in a chair, or lay in bed for multiple days. No paid tanning service should cost you this sort of discomfort. Beyond that, I have to comment on how ridiculous it was that the front desk person wanted to call me Matt. I didn't expect her to know who I was after my first visit, or even after my fifth. But the fact that every time I walked in the door, without hesitation, she would say, "Hey! Is it Matt?" And I would repeat again, "nope. Still not Matt." I appreciate the personalized touch, but give it up if you don't get it right after the first or second time. I feel I should also comment on how absolutely archaic the check-in process works. In the 1990s, it might be more commonplace for a receptionist with zero typing skills to sit at a single computer terminal and handle every incoming person, one at a time, no matter if they are checking in for their service, or inquiring about a new membership. God bless you if you get in line behind someone who really wants to go deep on all the differences between the different lotion lines, because the 15 minutes you may have planned for with your tanning stop could quickly turn into an hour. With today's technology, it's kind of beyond belief that you have to talk to someone, spelling out your name one letter at a time. every. single. time. Only to be greeted the next time, "oh hey! Is it Matt?" Couldn't you just use an app to book your bed and forego the whole process of finding out whether it's available, and dealing with a receptionist that doesn't get your name right, doesn't prioritize, and ultimately doesn't pay attention to your needs? read more

I recently gave Palm Beach Tan in Westwood a second chance after a disappointing experience many months ago. The first time, I paid around $65 (didn't get new client special)?? The spray tan never developed properly- it was barely noticeable and turned patchy within a few days. I thought maybe it was user error, so I decided to try again recently since it's the only automated spray tan place nearby UCLA. Unfortunately, the second visit was just as disappointing. Although I didn't pay as much this time, the machines still didn't provide full coverage, leaving some areas straight up untouched. I will say the front desk staff was really nice - but the rooms felt dark and unwelcoming. Once the tan developed, it was patchy and had an unnatural orange tone, even after the staff sold me on an upgrade to Amethyst to avoid that exact problem. The quality of the tan was the lowest I've ever experienced. I keep my skin hydrated and do all the proper aftercare as I've done for many other spray tans (home tanner, airbrush, etc) and the quality of whatever they use simply is just not up to par. Honestly, if you're going to spend that kind of money like the 65-ish they will charge, you're better off spending the few extra dollars to go to Sugared + Bronzed in Beverly Hills for beautiful even tan that actually lasts- I've had a much better wear on those spray tans than my two from Palm Beach read more

I love Palm Beach Tan! I just started going a few months ago and have now crossed that threshold where I walk in and they know my name. LOL! Great staff. I do a monthly package that includes unlimited sprays and bed tans for $60. I don't really do the beds except when I want to do some relaxing, heat filled meditating to give me a tiny bit of color lol! Spray tans are my thing. I'm an OG in the spray tanning world. PBT uses a VersaSpa and I've been really happy with the results. It's not orange, sprays evenly, and their air drying is always nice and warm. The room has all these little extras you can use if you like - eye coverings, lip balm, ear plugs, booties, etc. There is free parking in the garage for the Brentwood Place Shopping Center. A commodity in LA! I've been really happy at Palm Beach Tan and am so thankful to have found them. read more

Came in today for a spray. Haven't had the best experience with Palm Beach Tan in the past but I got an email for a free service so I said why not? When got there, I requested a medium spray tan and mentioned I wanted a realistic look as I was going in for photos the following day. The employee insisted on a toner which I politely declined but he kept pushing and I felt weirdly forced into adding it so it happened. What I didn't know was the toner makes the spray show color immediately. Normally it goes on clear and develops over time. I stepped out of the machine still quite wet as the drying cycle wasn't long enough and looked at myself in the mirror discovering how splotchy and dark I looked. When I was exiting the building I stopped at the front and mentioned how splotchy I looked and asked why I could see the color. The employee told me the toner made it this way and he said "I looked great" and that "I would love it". I gave a confused response, left, and went straight home and showered it all off. If you have not tanned with Palm Beach in a while, they will require you to restrict your minutes to half of the time offered. So the bed I wanted to use for a single session had a limit of 12 minutes, but the receptionist would only let me do it for 6 minutes, since I haven't visited their location since pre-pandemic. Mind you I have tanned elsewhere and have never heard of mandatory minutes restrictions in the 20+ years that I have tanned. They site that they are following guidelines from FDA regulations, but also make you sign a waiver which protects them against those same guidelines. In short, really bad business practice to want to charge me the full amount for half the time. After calling another location it sounds like this is a marketing ploy to push you into their monthly membership. The catch is that every time you return you get to bump your time by one minute. So, it only makes sense to sign up for their monthly plans rather than pay $35-$55 a session. Such a SCAM. Beware before you pay them a dime. read more

I got a regular spray tan here that cost me 2 x as much as my other salon and they do not even put in immediate bronzers you have to pay more for that! This pace is a HUGE rip off!!! Do not go here! Update: they finally responded to my inquiry and are refusing to give me a refund, stating that they need to see some type of signed document from when I closed my account. I signed an electronic signature device during my in-store time of cancellation, but was never given a physical copy. Palm Beach Tan should have my signature somewhere in their system, but again, I was assured that my account was closed on December 17th. I refuse to drive all the way back to the store and cancel ONCE AGAIN due of the mistakes of their employees and the flawed cancellation process. These are deceptive practices and PBT should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. This whole situation is absolutely infuriating and I've never come across a more difficult cancellation process.
