I've been going here for years and had no complaints until recently. The music available in the tanning rooms is gone. Upon asking when it will be fixed, the answer is usually "this week." This may not seem important to some but ambiance is valuable and makes the tanning experience more enjoyable. Seems like an easy fix. I hope the manager gets it Sent my contact information. This salon is absolutely awful. Was a member here and recently canceled due to the Manager Sheila. She had been blatantly rude to me and her staff right in front of me. I was shocked she had actually acted that way out loud, in public, to a stranger. Not to mention the spray walls are always black, like they aren't cleaned, only when she is working. Every bed also had half an inch of dust on top of it. Do not go to this salon! Would like to mention the staff, not manager, are very friendly and the vibe in the salon is always happy unless the manager is there (which is most times). read more

I can't even give them one star but I had to. This place has thee absolute worst customer service I have ever been apart of. I've never had a problem with the tanning but they will continue to charge you after you have cancelled your membership, 5 times. Their managers are never available but will continue to call you and when you call back or go in store, they still can't help you. I have called their customer service number which the lady was great and helped me cancel my membership and wave the balance I had due to their mistake. (They even owe me 2 months money back but i said I would just be okay with it) BUT this location continues to call me telling me I still owe and my account is still active and every time they say oh well I personally can't help you with that! So good luck with that. I will never go back, I'm not paying anything and I will never recommend going here! read more

The two girls that helped me sign up were very helpful and friendly. It did take longer then I expected to get signed up (one girl was very new just learning) I didn't end up getting into a bed til 730pm and then was told I couldn't come back for a full 24 hours so I skipped the next day. I returned the day after and my time was upped 2 min & I still haven't noticed any color. I have been twice and I haven't noticed any color (not even a pink tinge) I have used beds 16+ years ago and was hoping for similar if not better results. (I expected technology to have gotten better. I will continue to use my membership and hopefully see some results soon. I don't like that you have to purchase their products/lotions which range from $20-$100+ dollars. The place is clean & friendly. read more

I can tell you that I have probably wrote a review twice in my life, but I feel that I have to take some time to shout out this tanning salon, Palm Beach Tan, not just for the amazing spray tans, but for one employee that seriously goes above and beyond, and makes the experience so pleasant! I have always liked the employees there, but this girl Vanity Akins, is truly A+! She literally treats you as good as a top notch spa! I have NEVER had the same experience EVER at a tanning salon. She really cares about you enjoying the experience! even if it's just tanning! She always is so pleasant when I come in, and makes you feel important, and she walks me to my room, and doesn't even let me carry my own robe! I usually grab one on the way to the room in which I'm tanning, but she says she wants me to enjoy the experience fully! Palm Beach Tan scored with this girl. She really is so professional. Was a loyal customer for years until I stopped tanning. When you try to cancel, they talk you into "freezing" your account to ensure you keep your low rate in case you ever want to come back. Unfortunately I fell for it and was charged just over $8/month to "lock in my rates". Fast forward about 18 months and I finally remembered to just cancel the account all together. I walked inside in person today and was told that despite my $100 plus credit on my account, I had to pay $70+ to cancel. WHAT A SCAM. Will be calling in fraud to my credit card company tomorrow. Word to the wise, they have great beds, but don't put a card on file and never fall for "freezing your account". read more

Those are great people to have to see a couple times a week! Last night Megan helped me out so much. She explain a bunch of things to be about spray tanning and my age spots and how to tan maybe year round with a sunscreen in the tanning machine. Who would have thought. She also sold me a great uv facial mask I can wear to completely block out any rays. My husband is a fanatic and always goes here but I'm new and I am also very hard to impress. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! THEY RIPPED ME OFF!!!!!! I have NEVER written a negative review but because my experience was so bad, others need to be warned. I signed up for a promotion, for sunless tanning. Called yesterday (29th) to verify when my tans expired. The employee stated I had 1 that expired the 29th, 1 the 30th. I was confused by this because last week in the salon, the employee stated I had only 1 that expired on the 29th. The employee on the phone 100% confirmed, due to me being confused about what the last employee stated, that I had 1 for the 30th too. Obviously, I'm not going to spray tan 2 days in a row, so again, after the employees confirmation again that I had 1 for the 30th, I opted for that because it was closer to the weekend and my tan would look better for the 4th of July. I easily could've went the 29th, if the 30th option wasn't available. Went in on the 30th and they told me it expired on the 29th. The General Manager was not understanding AT ALL. Questioning me, and making me feel like a LIAR!!!! I showed her my phone records to prove my call and that didn't make a difference. I couldn't remember the employee's name, thought it may be Brittany, and she told me no Brittany works there. I told her, ok, that was a maybe, I wasn't positive of the girls name, but you can look up your employee records to see who was working, with the time stamped phone call on my phone. She pretty much ignored that and told me she was also working at that time yesterday too. Shouldn't the General Manager know who was working with her, considering there's only 2 employees working at a time.....???? In the end I was lied too, not offered my paid for tans. I've never had such a bad experience with a GM not being helpful and questioning me. I'm a GM too, have been for over the past 13 years, and would never let a paying customer leave without what they paid for, due to a mistake of an employee. **Also, the spray-less tan both needs some work. They have #'s 1,2,3, & 4 on the ground for how you're supposed to rotate in the both, The #2 is messed up and looks like a #1, it messed me up the 1st time, and thought it must have just happened but when I went back 2 weeks later, it was still looking like #1. And they didn't properly clean the ground outside prior to my entry, there was barrier cream from the previous tanner all over the floor. Not very hygienic! **Another add, the employees were not helpful when I went in previous times. I haven't sprayed tanned at the location for years, and asked what positions I should stand and they pretty just giggled and told me to stand like a scarecrow. The employees were just chit-chatting so I don't understand why you wouldn't explain something to a paying customer, isn't that your job?? Happened both times I went in. Need some serious training for employees and GM. The owner needs to take a serious look at their employees** **Also, asked to speak to the owner, due the General Manger not being helpful, and that was not possible** **Will never go back, and I have plenty of friends that go there that will be canceling their membership due to this** *This was the Simi Valley, Ca location** read more

Been going for years have access to the highest level of beds . I "often" ask if there are any new bulbs in ( especially when I dont see a color difference or i know its been YEARS since they been replaced) . or i ask if they know when they will be getting them? No one seems to have the answers. Sometimes I've been told they know which bubs have the least hours and others times they say they have no idea how many hours are on them ( or only maintenence knows ) . I asked if there was a phone number I could call and they said " I COULD TRY FINDING ONE ? " Are you kidding me ? Then I was told "they could give me a number BUT its just a voice mail ". I said the beds dont seem to be getting me tan , I am only seeing color from the spray . and they said " IT COULD BE THE LOTION ! Well I purchased lotion from you !! ....albeit one of the lower priced bottles but you carry it and sell it. It should work. It always has before " ! So now your saying if i dont by your $175 bottle of lotion your beds dont work ???????. THATS CRAZY. So do i need the highest level or beds ? Or the most expensive lotion ? When i purchased that bed level they never said it wont work good unless you buy $175 lotion. I am not in the practice of leaving bad reviews. The staff is usually nice and helpful. I know the bulb situation is beyond the front desk's control but they should be able to direct me to someone that can answer my questions. read more

Honestly I am going to sound mean but Aaliyah has got to go she has no idea what she's doing or even has the first idea about customer service ‍she had no knowledge of tanning and couldn't answer any of my questions about spray or the beds as it was my first time she didn't really give off the vibe she was comfortable with what she was doing at all she asked my name like 7 times after I had already handed her my ID by the time she had signed us in there was a huge line forming behind me and she started taking people out of order I'm sorry but usually anywhere you go you help people in the order they arrived perhaps she just needs some more training or maybe one other person working there to help her out as she seemed over whelmed... overall I wouldn't come back as the customer service sucked she couldn't answer very basic questions and I feel my tan didn't come out the way it could've if she had known at least the basics before and after care for a spray tan it's really not a hard job.. read more

They ripped me off! I was a member for six months and the spray tan machine was broken numerous times. I cancelled my membership with the required one month grace period and they continued to charge my card for two more months. I called to tell them to stop and I asked for my $60 bucks back. Emory in customer case said they would take care of it - but it's now been four months and they keep ignoring my follow up emails. I'm so mad and frustrated! read more

I had a great experience at Palm Beach tan. I went into this beautiful establishment on Wednesday and left feeling well taken care of with a desire to come back again! When I walked into the store I was immediately welcomed by Amanda. When I said it was my first time there she showed me around to see all of the various tanning beds and just made me feel at home. Not only do they have a lot of options to fit all kinda of skin tones but they showed amazing customer service. I would definitely go back again, Amanda was very kind and had such a positive energy! I came here on sat night 30 minutes before closing. Ava was the only one working. She took the time to go over a membership pkg that made sense to me, as well as go over all the different beds and options i would have with that membership. She was super friendly, and didnt rush me. She also recommended a good lotion. I came back on tuesday night, and there were 2 different girls working. I didnt get their names, but they were also very helpful, professional and fun at the same time. I love this place because of the ambiance, the cleanliness, but most of all the 3 employees are why i will be back. Beautiful, friendly, polite and professional. Thank you. I GOT SKIN CANCER from this place after they told me their beds were safer because they limit one type of UV ray. And after calling and going in in-person, they REFUSE TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. WORST BUSINESS. The "managers" don't do their jobs. I've called and been promised calls back that never happen - they just keep charging me. The girls behind the counter are very sweet, the place is clean and it is a convenient spot for me, but I have to drive somewhere further because this place raised their prices on the regular tanning beds: an additional five dollars a pop-- it was $11, and now it is $15 or $16. If I could give less I would . I've been doing this for a long time. Heck I got cancer from tanning beds. I never have dealt with anything like this before . I wanted to get a spray tan and after spending 20 min going circles with the girl helping me . I chose a membership . Ready to go in the booth the girl tells me my child can't wait in the lobby and can't go on the room with me . The robotic girl knew my child was with me the entire time. She could have told me that before I swiped my credit card and signed . Fine , that's the policy cancel my membership , I'll go else where . She tells me it's impossible. Impossible!!! I just signed up , I did not get any service . I told her to give me the managers number . She told me she can't . I said give my number to the manager to call me . The girl tells me she can't do that . So I can't speak to a manager , you won't refund the money. Not to mention the advertisement on the website for $14.95 tan is not true . You have to pay $20 sign up fee and you need to add things so you do t get orange . At least that's what the girl told me. I have to give a SHOUT OUT TO MY GIRL AJ here at Palm Beach Tan. If it was not for her, i would for sure have to cancel my membership. She is also the main reason i want yo give 5 stars but i cant just because their hours are just not comvenient for me . She is super helpful and took SO SO SO much of her time to patiently help memfind the right package that worked for me amd made what i wanted happen. She custom tailored to fit all of my needs. I am verypale by nature it is a process foe mw to get a good tan going and i am usually here right before they close (9 pm which i would never have gotten a membership here if iu knew that they did not keep the hours that the salon smart exposure had here before ) But none the less, she is always genuinely nice and friendly and willing to let me tan even if i only make it like a minute before 9. For this reason i love her and i am already seeing some seriously needed color as a result, so thanks a million to AJ. Also a big thumbs up to her for SHOWING ME SOMETHING NEW THAT I LOVE which was the honey color spray tan instead of the usual mocha i always hear them pushing, i didnt even know this was an option, and now i am hooked. Th mystic tan does do a good job here and th e colors are great, just be super careful to cover your feet good, and dont expect thebcolor to last for very long, it fades quickly for me but when its on it looks good and does fade nice and evenly not solktchy like others i have had. read more

Have been going to this establishment for years with the highest membership possible. I tried a new salon recently only to realize this establishment is terrible. The manager Sheila is rude to customers and employees. They don't change the bulbs on the beds or their beds are just a million years old as they don't do their job and I have heard similar things from other customers I have spoken to. The other salon I went to had prices 10% of palm beach tan prices. All their lotions that they shove down your throat are triple the price then online or from other salons. Not to mention all they want is your money and the employees clearly have a lot of pressure on them to sell you anything and everything. Finally going in to someone asking about my day instead of telling me I have to buy something and using beds that actually work is such a breath of fresh air. All the time and money I've wasted on this dump is embarrassing. read more
