I interviewed 9 different companies for our job, which included jackhammering out our entire backyard, leveling, laying concrete and smashing out two walls to make a beautiful backyard oasis. It goes without saying the final product was amazing. More importantly, the process was enjoyable. Danny was an extremely pleasant man (I am shocked reading reviews saying he has a temper, I never experienced that), and he was extremely reasonable to deal with. In fact, I think it is important to note that we had one part of the job where my vision and his did not meet, and I wasn't happy with the (small) part. What did Danny do? No arguments, he took the amount off the bill and told me he completely understood where I was coming from. I was impressed with that! Now let's talk about his crew; showed up on time every day, were extremely polite and very professional. They even wore the uniform shirts which is impressive to me. Also, as a military guy, I was impressed that each afternoon before they left, their tools were lined up neatly along the wall, and the area was cleaned up. Unfortunately I can't give this company a negative number of stars. My husband and I met Mr Palmer for the first time on August 24 for the initial quote to remodel our backyard. We like him and tried to schedule another meeting to finalize the job. Mr Palmer didn't reply to my texts (why I didn't understand who I was dealing with from this first episode?!?") and in fact, copying and pasting, I wrote him "Hi Danny, this is Sara. I suppose you have no time to work on our house. Too bad. Thanks anyway". He then replied, came again to our house and wanted $500 to have us on the schedule for mid-October. NO RECEIPT of those $500 received. Time goes by, tried to get in touch with him multiple times to discuss materials, colors, etc. True, didn't leave messages but this was a big job, hours and hours of working to pay for it, and didn't want to discuss by texts. Mid October came and since that last meeting on Sep 6 no a single word from Mr Palmer. Finally on Nov 7 he sent an email saying he could start the job the week of Nov 14. One month late and no notice, no excuses. Sorry but this is not how I want to spend $22K. I called Mr Palmer to let him know and not only he was rude but of course refused to give me back my $500. And no receipt received yet although I asked him several times. Please, give yourself a favor and don't invest your money on this company. 01/02/2016: So so many lies. Danny's a good, hardworking Guy. He was able to fix a valve the same day that I called him and came back the next day to replace a bunch of the old sprinkler heads as agreed upon. But the main reason for the 5 star review is his helpfulness and willingness to go above and beyond. He tweaked each sprinkler head on my property for me without any extra charge and also gave me advice on future landscaping projects. If he had only done what he was hired to do, it would probably have been about 30 minutes. But he answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything without minding the time. We had a great experience with Danny and his crew. They were booked out a couple months but he was clear when he could start on our front and backyard project. He even followed up with us after our initial meeting, while we couldn't even get another company to call us back, and another one couldn't even start till a month or two after Danny said he could start. We needed a complete re-do of our front sprinkler system which had completely died, new sod, a stone pathway and widened our driveway with some nice stonework. They cleared out all our plants which had grown wild and put in new plants and also added drip irrigation in some areas. We also had to re-do our back grass since the sprinklers weren't working well - he re did all the sprinkler heads to make sure they worked correctly, and put in new sod. Also cleared out our back planters and sides, and added new plants. We had a general idea of what we wanted but Danny really helped us with what would work and what wouldn't. They started on a Friday and he thought they would finish the following Friday or maybe push it into the next week but kept us updated and they finished late on Friday. They pushed to finish on Friday and he and his crew all stayed late to finish the job. His crew was respectful and always swept up at the end of the day. Danny showed up every morning and I think all of the afternoons to check on their work and give us an update. I wasn't quite sure what plants I wanted but he gave us some good suggestions to keep us in our budget. They went over in cost by a hundred dollars or so on plants but he checked before charging us to make sure we were ok with it (and also told us during the initial consult that it could happen but would always check with us before pulling the trigger). We forgot that our sprinkler controller was broken so when they finished up Friday evening and we realized it, he sent one of his guys over the next morning on a Saturday to install a new one for us. Very fair pricing and really easy to work with. I'd highly recommend and I know my neighbors in the area are all asking us for Danny's info to get work done on their yards. read more

Palme'rs did our back yard which included islands, fire place, slab and block wall. recently we replaces our driveway and sidewalks with pavers. Palmers set a schedule with us and started and completed the projects as agreed. We loved that changes and delays on our part were not met with anything but patience and any change orders were fair and reasonable. When finally they arrived after months of delays, the work they did was fine, but to this day, they never finished the job. It seems that they lost interest when they understood that the job was not going to be that profitable. From that point on it was a struggle to complete. They also hit us for a change order due to a "misunderstanding" of the key material. The fact that I had offered for him to take a sample of the material (a brick) so hew would know exactly what the spec expectation, was forgotten." I don't need it. I know what you want", was the answer at the time. Later that same brick was more than 2 times the price, because he didn't know exactly what the brick would cost. They left it with a half finished wall. And I never got a receipt or final account reconciliation to this day. He was supposed to give the Lien Waiver but I have never heard from him despite multiple requests. If you have a large job, you may get their attention and the benefit of their workmanship. However, if they think they won't make out they, will do the bare minimum. A lot of hot air and not very trustworthy is my conclusion on this firm. read more
