Aaron and his crews are absolutely the best in the business. Our project, start to finish was flawless m. Yes, we had questions, we had minor fixes, and everything was always taken care of quickly and with the upmost professionalism. Now, our project, a pool, from start to finish, Form and Focus handles most of the project. Aside from shotcrete, rebar, a d plaster, Form and focus sis all the rest. I did NOT hire a pool company to build my pool. I was my own GC and Aaron, the owner of form and focus, helped in every way we he could. The pic speak for themselves. His company handled the form a d dig, tile, coping, and all hardscape after. You won't go wrong with them. I'm not a fan of Yelp, actually they suck, but when a good company like form to focus gets a bad review because an idiot doesn't know how to communicate, it's crap, just like Yelp. We were connected up with Form and Focus through Landscape Locators. From the moment we met Jacob we knew we were in good hands. A very communicative person, Jacob saw our vision for the backyard and was engaged during the entire process. We demo'd the preexisting concrete and grass, replacing everything with a new concrete patio, updated drainage, a refreshed sprinkler system and landscaping. I appreciated the project management that went on behind the scenes. The hardscape crew was organized and worked with very very little downtime. If there were ever any questions or issues Jacob was quick to respond via phone or text. Overall we felt like we had a great partner with this project. We used Jacob and his crew to design, gut and completely rebuild our backyard and balcony. The main word that comes to mind when we were working with Jacob was honesty. Keep in min that we started the consultation phase of our project BEFORE COVID started int he US, so there were many obstacles, especially in the beginning phases with city permits, etc. because the permit office was closed for a period and then backlogged. So, I can only speak to how he and his crew did in a very chaotic and unpredictable year. Once Demo started F and F was very focused and the project moved along well. There were some sticking points as the process went on due to production issues for our balcony handrails and some similar things. Jacob and Aaron were great about keeping us informed and being transparent. The work that F and F does is OUTSTANDING. They were very detail oriented and kept the project moving along. I have recommended them to friends and have had some friends use them as well. HIGLY RECOMMENDED company!. read more

I got several quotes for a back yard landscape job and Jacob was quick to respond, honest, and reasonably priced. They started exactly when they said they would, and finished on time. The guys did impeccable work. It was fun to watch. I would actually look forward to coming home from work to see what they had done. SO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN PREVIOUS CONTRACTORS! Jacob and his team were absolutely fabulous in building our outdoor kitchen area. Their work is too notch and I was very impressed with all the planning and communication that went in to every phase of the process. Jacob's crew was always on time and worked long hours to get the BBQ island done. Jaime, the lead on the job was very communicative and mad sure each step in the process was what we wanted. I was super happy to have them working on this job. Near the end of the project we added on a small patio for our smoker and they took it upon themselves to add a small stair for us up to the kids trampoline, which we appreciated. We found Form and Focus through Landscape Locators. We used a designer Laura Bard to redesign our entire front and backyards. We are 31 yr original owners and all the Landscape was very overgrown along with the concrete and brick hardscape looking old and dated. Landscape Locators got us 3 competitive quotes and Form and Focus was slightly lower than the rest but still came highly recommended. This large job started with removal of all the existing hardscape and all existing landscape. Jacob and his crew completely transformed our entire house. His work crews do exceptional work. They show up every day and fully clean up before going home for the day. Jacob was very easy to work with. We made several changes along the way from the original design plans and he provided fully broken down change orders with the delta cost increases along with cost reductions. His payment schedule was very fair and tied to delivery of bulk materials and major areas of completion. We have gotten lots of comments from neighbors about the great quality of his work. I would not hesitate to use Form and Focus for any other landscape work in the future and highly recommend Jacob and his crew to anyone. read more

We selected Form & Focus Landscape during a bidding process to renovate our entire backyard in 2019. Jacob's proposal was detailed and we felt best aligned to our desire to work with a local not-too-big/not-too-small business with strong character based on our interview process. As soon as we were able to secure permits, demolition began on our 3-month+ project to demo our backyard, install a new glass fence, pavers, landscaping, a full outdoor kitchen/California room and additional seating area with fire pit. Nearly every day we had Jacob's team onsite making progress; we found Jacob to be responsive when we needed to discuss issues or had questions that inevitably arise in large projects like these. We had very few surprises and change orders usually at our request including adding pavers to carry forward to the front yard and small porch. The stars of our job were the husband/wife team (Jose & Maria) who led the project delivery with exceptional work ethic and communication. We were thrilled with the end result was nearly an identical replica of the design. Taking on this undertaking during 2021 presented itself with many challenges. There were major delays getting materials and skilled people leaving jobs for other opportunities. My husband and I have two small kids that are 4 and 2 years old. When we bought our house, the yard had a mixture of random plants and trees that never made sense with a mix of cement, pavers, and edging stones. Just so much random stuff! Katie was AWESOME and she mentioned her husband did landscaping, so I was open to meeting him too! She was never pushy when recommending her husband, but I'm so glad she did. I'm so thankful for Katie, because she listened to all the things I DIDN'T want and then gave me a BEAUTIFUL end result design. From there she supplied me with the prints and then the work started! From start to finish Jake and Katie were very professional, communicated well, answered any questions that we had (and yea..I had a lot!). When I met them I just got this warm and fuzzy feeling in my stomach that they were good people. Horrible. Their Mason jumped around on the project to collect the contracted benchmark prices payments, and then left the job unfinished when most of the money was collected. Jacob the owner pays the nice guy, but his workers cut corners. I'm still finding things... not small things either. For example, they didn't install an overflow drain. I would never have known we didn't have a big reason...my backyard overflowed. The concrete on my backyard deck also doesn't match everywhere. They did complete patch work. Thankfully I had another contractor working in my pool who was able to fix some things. read more

We only intended on having our yard design done by Form and Focus Design, then found out that Form and Focus Landscape does the work as well. After months of interviewing countless companies / designers and getting quotes, Katie and Jake were the only people that really listened to us, understood what we wanted, and most importantly, Understood our Budget! Most other companies were not willing to work with our budget or do our project in phases. When it comes to construction, any kind of construction, there are always the unexpected issues. Thankfully, Jake was able to address all of those unexpected issues, presenting us our options with transparency and he clearly communicated the cost implications. Jake went above and beyond helping us, talked everything out with us, explained the work every step of the way, and guided us to the best possible resolution. He's willing to do whatever we wanted to make us happy, never pushing another sale, but always made sure that we were able to continue to move forward. With Form and Focus you truly get hard working passionate people that care about what they do and want to make their clients happy. I cannot recommend this company enough. Do not hire these guys. They are con artists. It has been over nine months of underpromises and lies. Jacob is a complete liar. Thank God there was an itemization of work and services over a 4 month time period. The work was to complete between 12 to 16 weeks. He tried to dupe me by quoting me an additional fee, exorbitant at that, that was already included in the contract. When I called him on it, he apologized and said it was already included. There was a HUGE difference between what was quoted in the contract and the additional fee that he wanted to charge me for the same work. Well, it is going on nine months and no one is following up on the work. There has been so many problems with the work and they are not even done yet. They have lost COMPLETE INTEREST in finishing my work. I will NEVER refer them to any of my friends or family. They are a complete joke!!!!! read more

Jake and his team provided a fair quote, set a realistic schedule and performed a very high quality of work. His crew was at my house everyday and was respectful of my privacy. The facia rock work was impeccably done the fencing, pathway, sprinkler system and lights we're also very well done. From start to finish, I really appreciated working with Jake, Aaron and their crew. I felt very comfortable with them as they were referred to me by a friend and luckily I had the same experience as my friend. They are really nice guys and conduct their business with integrity. I met with multiple contractors and I found Jake and Aaron's prices fair, and them to be honest. Once the project started, the crew was very respectful of my home and I felt very comfortable having them working there. The project did take a little longer than planned, but that was due to COVID related issues Of delayed shipping and getting permits from the city. Jacob and team did several different phases to shape up our back yard. They were very responsive in the beginning, however, as the project came along, it seemed like they were losing interest and were not attentive to details. We had to call them out at least 4 different times to fix/adjust the installed irrigation. Because there was no shut off valve added to the irrigation, there was an incident that flooded our back yard whilst we were at work. The DG path that was first laid for us was very uneven and had loose areas where your footsteps would sink in. Although both the irrigation and DG were eventually fixed, we had to stay on top of the team to get it done. Eventually, Jacob simply stopped responding mid-project once some of the line-items had been completed and paid for, and we now have a pile of debris sitting in the yard that was never picked up to dump. I am now out of pocket about $100 to get all that disposed of by another contractor plus the hassle of finding someone to finish the job. The prices aren't as high as some of the other landscaping companies, but they're not exactly cheap either. I would shop elsewhere based on my experience. read more
