I also like how, when you go during business hours, there's a guy there to pressure-wash your car down before it goes through; that really helps get the thick grime and bugs off. One of my goals when I finally had to replace my last mom-mobile was to keep this one cleaner, i.e., washed and vacuumed. Another goal was to do it without spending a lot of cash. With the current water restrictions, at-home car washing was the first thing to go. And those worthless gas station "touchless laser washes" are like washing dishes without a sponge. So I found this place on my way to work, probably because of the flashing neon "free vacuums" sign. It takes a lot to rip my attention away from the road. The vacuums are, indeed, free, and they have multiple self-wash bays that have the power of a fire hose, in addition to a handy soft scrub brush. I used these for awhile until the renovations had been completed on the mini drive-through automatic wash, and then I tried it out, too. The cool things about the automatic wash are that it's not much more than the "touchless" automatic wash: $8-13, depending on what options you choose; it actually has felt brushes that wash your car, hence removing most of the dirt and dead insects; and there is a super-friendly and helpful guy who pre-washes your car before it goes in, and another who wipes it with a chamois at the end. They work with a smile, and they appreciate tips. And I appreciate having a clean car. I still have to clean the interior myself, but I was having to touch up a lot after each wash at the last full-service place anyway, and it wasn't as reasonably priced. Understandably, this place can get busy at peak times, such as weekends and evenings. So to avoid waiting in line, try to swing by earlier on a weekday. read more

I have a brand new car that I'm trying my hardest to keep nice and clean, while having two crazy shedding dogs that I tote around quite a bit. But, I definitely can't afford to get my car detailed or hand cleaned on a regular basis. This place is great! The deluxe wash is $11, I usually tip 2 dollars to the guys who pre-wash and then hand dry after the drive through. And you can't beat free vacuums, that actually work! I've sometimes had to wait a bit for a vacuum spot to open up, but never more than 5 minutes- and they're free, so its worth it! I've made it my new routine to go here once a week. This car wash has bays for the DIY car wash as well as an automatic wash. If you're choosing the automatic wash the basic wash is only $8 and if an attendant is there, he will pre-scrub your car before it starts. It seems like the pre-scrub helps a lot, because my car comes out looking surprisingly clean. I never expect much at the automatic washes, but I'm very happy each time I go through here. I've also used the self washing bays and get a good wash out of those as well. Know what you're going to do before you start so you don't have to run back and forth just to add coins (and waste time). Other than coins and bills, you can pay with a credit card. At the stall I was at most recently, the credit card was the most convenient option because it would only charge you for the time used. It may be different in other bays, but I'm glad they have that available. I spend anywhere between $4 to $7 at the self washing bays and I get a very good clean. The free vacuums are very nice to have available as well. Although they may not have the best suction, it gets the job done. read more

Also just found out that Wednesday's are wacky Wednesday which means the $13 wash is only $10 as well. I love that the vacuums are free to use after the wash as well. I've been impressed the dozen or so times I get my truck washed here. The only complaint I have is that it's pretty busy - I recommend going in the evening, as it starts to clear up. They should buy some more real estate and expand the location a bit. Older equipment, but it gets the job done and at a fraction of the cost ($8-12) of what you might pay at several other car washes. Best car wash EVER! 1.,They use the high end brushes that actually clean (unlike EVERY brushless car I've ever wasted my $ on. ) 2.Self-service prices! 3. Full service attention. The owner is doing this place right. He greeted me as I pulled up to pay,, swiped card for me ( I didn't pull close enough) and answered my questions. He even pointed out my low tire as he soaped up my rims. Told me he'd fill 'em for free after the wash. Then he instructed me to "Pull up to here, put 'er in neutral and keep your foot off the break 'till yer done!" If that wasn't enough, there was even a towel man wiping down the cars down. I was SO impressed, after tipping the towel man, I drove off with out airing up my tire. But 4 hours later, when my truck was loaded down, I remembered my tire and he remembered me. Pretty solid car wash, and I go here semi-regularly. The automatic car wash is quick and effective, and frequently does a better job than my own hand washings. There are attendants present before you enter the wash, and they perform a pre-scrub before your vehicle enters the wash bay. There are also attendants at the end of the wash, and they wipe down your car after you exit. Not a bad deal for eight bucks Be warned though, the automatic wash can do light damage to your vehicle. Things I've had happen to my car: - The high speed brushes occasionally get caught in between the seams of my bumper and car body and rip off inside the seams. No big deal, but one time I had to get a razor blade to pry out the cloth between one of the seams. - My side mirrors always get pushed back during the wash cycle. On one occasion, it left a scratch behind. - I've had a few small dents left on my car body after the automatic washes. - I've noticed significant rust on my wheels since using the automatic car wash. I suspect the detergent isn't getting rinsed off properly in those areas. Can't prove it one way or another. In the end, I don't really care about the potential damage. I have an older throwaround car anyway. If I had something new (and expensive), I'd think twice about going through the automatic wash and stick with the self-wash bays, which are also nice. The free vacuums are also a nice touch. Place can get very crowded on weekends. Expect to wait in line during peak hours. read more

This may be the best car wash of it's type in central Texas. The automatic wash includes those huge brushes that twirl around & clean my van very well. Really, the whole robotic thing fascinates me, but then they add two humans to pre-wash & wipe down - this place does a great job! We used to love this car wash, but a few weeks ago we took our Lexus because we needed a really thorough wash (we usually do a no rinse wash by hand). The automatic wash tire shine ruined our alloy wheels. It corroded our wheels...they're streaked and it looks awful. I went to get my dirty, dirty little car washed here on Easter Sunday. I love this place because of the guy that does a little pre-wash rub and soak. With the amount of time that passes between my car washes, this is especially appreciated since regular washes don't get all of the dirt on it. I figured that since it was a holiday, he wouldn't be here, but there he was, rubbing and soaking away. I got the Super wash for $8 and went through the tunnel. If I could give this place a zero I would. I went there yesterday I've been there several times and never had a issue I have a new car that has minor dings and new rims which I pay close attention to my car, half way through my car came off the track and stops but is moving and being slammed against the left guard rail making a grinding noise. I get out of the car wash look at my rim and it's completely scratched. I show the manager contact the owner which meets me at the car wash to deny and deny that it's possible that the railing that has yellow plastic siding could possibly do this I see where he's coming from but NO it's possible when there's a metal rod under that siding and my tires are almost flat against the rim it's a CAR that has a lot of power being pushed against a railing!!! Also where the incident happen there's black all over the "yellow" siding I'm assuming my tire being pushed in. I understand that people probably make ridiculous accusations against car washes but when you didn't have a scratch around your rim and it comes off the track and is being slammed into the railing give me a break take responsibility for your business I was so done and over wanting to make Chris the owner understand so I'll pay $75 to get it fix and never go there again!!!!!! This is the best self service +car wash I've been to in North Austin. The vacuums are free, and the self service card reader only chargers you for the time used, when you're done you're done. The fact that they have touch-less handheld dryers is a plus too. I haven't tried the drive through car wash, not a fan of wipers touching my car....
