The carwash cracked my windshield, badly. It was not cracked when I went in, and when I came out, there was a huge crack from top to bottom. The manager said his "opinion" was that it was cracked before I went in. Basically called me a liar, and said they wouldn't do anything to help me. He said he pays too much i insurance to file a claim, and referred to me as a Tom Dick and Harry and how he can't just go paying for damage his car wash did. read more

I don't like to take my car in drive-thru car washes (bad experience with scratches) which means if I'm not washing my car at home, I need a drive up car wash bays... and the machines often take quarters only. Mr Sharky's bays accepts debit/credit cards! It charges by the minute. I can wash my entire car, tires, and dry it for under $10, all charged to my debit card. I love it! They're also offering unlimited free vacuum services right now. Note: There is a small silver button (smaller than a dime) at the card machine that you MUST press to stop the transaction. Also, your bank may show a temporary hold for $10, but rest assured you will only be charged the amount you spent. Example: I spent $6.50 last time I was there, my bank showed a hold for $10, but a few days later it updated to $6.50. Don't panic if you see a $10 hold! read more

This is a self serve as well as an auto wash. The staff spends a great amount of detail on your car before you even go through the wash.. I was not expecting that! It gives you plenty of space to move around your vehicle to get it clean. Also, the vacuums give you a little time for free if you have a little spill, you need to get up. The location was clean, and even though it was busy, it was easy to get into a bay and get my ride all cleaned up. read more

Sometimes when automatic car washes can't do the job, you gotta do it yourself. Nice place to come give your car a thorough cleaning. If that's not your thing, they have automatic car wash services too. I did the self service hand wash option and recommend bringing quarters and paying for the max time available. This way you get enough time to go through the cycles. Just turn the knob towards which option you want on the menu and start cleaning. There's high pressure rinse, soap, gloss, etc. I believe it's $2.50 for 4 minutes, $10 for 16 minutes. Wear sandals and clothes you don't care much about because you'll get wet. Each bay was fairly clean and there are dry off/ vacuum areas after you finish. read more

AVOID this and other Mr. Sharky's coin-op car washes as they use the lowest-grade soap detergent, wax, as well as other key ingredients that give you the poorest wash--let alone, forcing you to spend more time (thus money) on each wash, by a factor of 50% more! Coin-op car washes are lucrative businesses so it doesn't require that much more investment to procure even a mid-to-high-grade wash solutions to produce a decent wash. However, this owner elected to use the lowest grade (i.e. cheapest) solutions that take more time and effort to remove even the simplest dirt and grimes; thus, forcing you to spend more time to get a below-par wash. For reference, I've been using this car wash for 15+ years but noticed the quality's been progressively (and persistently) deteriorating since about 3-4 years ago. Tucked away on 620 just off the madly crowded intersection of Anderson Mill is Mr. Sharky's Car Wash, with its brightly colored bays and vacuums and a name I can't figure out. If you like to wash your car or boat yourself, there are a number of large bays to accommodate you. If you'd rather not get your feet and everything else wet, the drive through is a good option. Washes range from the $8 basic to the $13 deluxe. I usually get the $9 wash and wax, which covers all the basics and then some. Helpers who work there will meet you at the drive through entrance and pretreat your car, then meet you on the other end and dry it off. They gratefully accept tips, and the machines at the entrance take credit cards. Vacuums are do it yourself and are always free! I like to vacuum first and throw my trash away before heading through the wash, so I don't get someone's overspray drifting from a nearby bay. So much easier and cheaper than the formal car washes, because I don't have to unload my valuables and wait in a snack-filled lobby, where I might buy stuff. And in the end it looks just as good. I can clean the dash and windows myself, probably even better. read more

Honestly doesn't even deserve 1 Star. I have been to my fair share of do it yourself car washes and this was by far the worst I've ever been to. The maintenance on this place is obviously not kept up. The raggedy foaming brush did nothing but add more dirt to my car. The high pressure drying tool had absolutely no pressure to it. $2.75 cents per 4 minutes doesn't even seem to be true. Spent the $10 limit for what seemed like no time at all only to end with a car where extra dirt was just spread around. Biggest waste of money I can think of. So if you like to just throw away cash, this is the place to go. Definitely will not be using this place again and I advise anyone else to do the same. read more

I was charged $10 on my credit card, but the meter showed $8. There was no foam in the pre-soak. There was minimal soap in the wash gun. There was minimal soap from the wheel brush. My truck has hard water spots and I used the spotless rinse. The STOP button had been scratched off, so I had to guess where it was (as the meter rolled on). This place is a joke. Tried out their ultimate wash ($13, although I had $7 off from a coupon sent home). I regret not just taking the free $7 wash instead. I'll start off by saying my car was pretty dirty, lots of visible dirt and some bird poop on the top, although not awful. I knew my tires were pretty dirty too, which is why I opted for the priciest wash. The two folks working there did a prewash on the car, before I went in the drive through, and afterwards, dried the car off. Before I left, I asked if that was it, and they said yes, so I was on my way. Upon inspecting the car afterwards, I noticed that the car wasn't totally clean. There were some spots that needed some tough love, but I wouldn't expect it from a drive through wash, so that's fine. The tires though, specifically, the inner portion of the rim, was still super dirty, which I would not have expected from the ultimate wash, since one of the selling points was "tire blaster". Presumably, that dirt would've been blasted off, but no. In fact, I'm not sure I got any of the benefits of the ultimate wash at all (compared to the standard $7 wash). Did I not understand the extras, or did they mistakenly say I was done when they had not yet finished? Don't know, but I'm disappointed either way. I think if I had gotten the wash I did, but for the $7 price, I'd be satisfied, and this would be a 4 star review, but sadly, it's gonna have to be 3 stars. read more

I visited Mr. Sharky's before 10 on a Sunday morning, which seemed ideal. Plenty of bays and vacuums available. Attendant was friendly and offered assistance. Reminders all over reminding people not to be jerks (no loud music, dumping stuff down the drain is a federal offense, etc.) Environment was great, didn't have trash all over or anything like that. Mr. Sharky's is easy to get to, too! Equipment worked great, and got my car squeaky clean (after a 1600 mile trip that brought salt from MN and dirt from all seven states we traveled through.) I used the self-serve and put about $8 worth of quarters in, which gave me plenty of time for tire cleaning, general washing and a thorough rinse. Not a fan of the mat clips, though, they kind of smoosh the edges of my mats a bit much for my comfort. The dryer feature on the self-service is not very useful but the power wash and rinse were just great. Vending machines sell Armor All wipes, towels, etc. if you need a little something. I like the free vacuum cleaners and they work MUCH better than the free one at my apartment complex. read more

In a word: Consistent. I've taken my 2012 Mini Cooper S and my 2014 Jeep Wrangler there and have never been disappointed by the wash quality. It's also nice to have someone dry my vehicle off at the end. Service always has a smile, and I'm generally in and out within 10 minutes or so. The machine taking payment at the beginning of the wash area seems to be very picky with what credit cards it accepts or how easily it reads the stripes. If the attendant isn't there to do the payment for me, I often have to open my door and lean out of the car to get the reader to cooperate. Not a huge deal, just a minor inconvenience. It might need servicing, or if possible update it to something that can accept Apple Pay or some kind of contactless payment. Other than that this is my go-to car wash in town. read more

I love that we have this local car wash company that's right around the corner from where we live. My mom and I decided to take her car here a few Sundays ago for a wash, and we loved not only the car wash itself (that was hand dried), but the staff is super nice and courteous. After we took my moms car to get washed, I took my husbands truck for a wash there too! They also have several washing days if you wanted to wash your car yourself, as well as shampooers and vacuums. I didn't have any cash to tip so when I apologized for that, they couldn't be more gracious! This is the best drive-thru car wash I've found in Austin.
