If you look past their guidelines and policies and maybe their charge to take off shellac, they are accurate and courteous! Easy to find, plenty of parking. Decor is very chic and I love that it doesn't have that nasty polish smells. The staffs were friendly, they offer espresso, water, tea or wine. I got the wine and it was delicious. The tech did a good job scrubbing my feet, trim my nails and polish it. I got the signature pedi, it's pricer than other nail shop. However, it was nothing special...I was hoping there were flowers petals or something to give it an ump. Overall, 4 stars but the service and 3 stars for the package. read more

I did go back for another service, but not one I asked for...annnd it was no bueno...I specifically asked for the massage with the wooden paddle, and they scheduled me with the wrong therapist, who doesn't even use that tool...receptionist apologized, and told me the manager would get back with me, I also paid for my service that I didn't enjoy or wanted...the manager emailed me, apologized for the mistake, and I honestly thought she would ask me in for a redo, she offered 20% off my next appointment....no thank you, unfortunately I will not be going back...I will miss my amazing facial, but that's not the customer service I was expecting... Dear facial lovers, I'm always looking for the best facials in town...from my reviews, you can see I can never get enough...I have had good ones, bad ones, and the great ones...this one definitely fell in the great category...Alexia was excellent...she did everything I love in a facial, I added the microdermabrasion, which was fantastic...I'm always on the prowl for the old school micros, love me a good deep scrub of those dead skin layers. I really wanted to like this place. The aesthetic is beautiful, the location is great, the music is chill and everyone who works there is nice. But the manicure I paid approx. $50 for was extremely subpar. I do a better job at home. As soon as I got out into the sunlight (vs mood lighting indoors) I noticed the polish job was SO patchy and uneven. And around the cuticle area it was like someone scribbling polish around the lines--it wasn't smooth like it should be. Super disappointed that I paid so much for a super basic manicure and I couldn't get the bare minimum out of it, which is, at the LEAST, decently applied polish. I'll stick to doing my nails at home or at my usual salon. read more

I have been coming here since August and it has been great. I have never been someone that regularly gets my nails done but I have a girlfriend who gets her nails done here and they always look great so I decided to try it out. I go about every two weeks and have builder gel done by Christine. She does a meticulous job and I seriously can't believe I waited so long to start having my nails done. As someone with a skin condition that hates doing their own nails, getting them done can be a bit of a fraught experience. However, Paloma absolutely hits it out of the park for cleanliness and products used. The aesthetic of the salon is neat and pleasing, the technicians are extremely skilled and courteous, and the one time I've had a messed up pedicure (which was my fault) they fixed it for free. My gel manicures and pedicures last well beyond the 10-day guarantee for about 30 days on average. I've played sports, opened cans, and reloaded pistols with my nails done, and in all cases, the color has lasted and NOT CHIPPED. Not exceptional but they do fine. My manicure has some streaks and a couple tiny bumps. For what you pay, you probably should walk out with perfect polish. I would have complained but didn't have time for a redo. They get a huge win for proper ventilation, but honestly charging the "covid sanitation fee" is ridiculous. Just update the prices to what you actually charge... everybody else has. Paid $10 extra dollars for sanitation costs and I see no visible reason for that. Sanitation should be a basic function of your salon. I also did not see this noted on their menu of services anymore so would have appreciated knowing ahead of time. read more

I've been twice and had excellent experiences each time. I visited during my pregnancy since they avoid as much toxic ingredients as possible. Both people were very gentle and skilled. I worked with Anna and Rachel and recommend both. I will return. I'm not sure of the other negative reviews as I've only had positive experiences. I recommend making an appointment versus walking in. I wanted to indulge myself with a premium mani pedi so I Yelped. Many Yelpers recommended Paloma Nails so I booked an All In mani pedi for a Saturday at 10am. I was greeted by the friendly woman at the desk and taken back immediately to a comfortable chair in the salon. Salts and scrubs were already in place and the two nail techs went to work immediately. I was offered an espresso as my nails were shaped and buffed. After a sugar scrub and lots of moisturizer my polish was expertly applied. I was done within an hour-ish. I had the best facial experience with Carrie! The technique she uses and quality of the products made a big difference in my skin. At 59 years you want to get the the best results. If you want to come here I suggest you make an appointment. They have only 2 people working. I tried to get a pedicure with shellac. I had to wait 50 - 60 minutes and I couldn't get shellac because they were going to close. I decided to wait but when I asked for water, guess what, they didn't have water to give to the customers... ??? Sadly my pedicure was not good. I've been a customer of Paloma for the last 3 1/2 years. I hadn't been in a while due to poor service at the Heights location but reluctantly figured I'd give the River Oaks one a try. The nail technician coughed multiple times and sounded very congested plus she did a mediocre job. Will not be back to any location and will deter anyone else from going. Also there were plenty of open chairs and they sat 2 customers right next to each other. . I hope the owner reads this and makes adjustments. The salon is beautiful and relaxing. In addition to nails, many don't realize that Paloma also offers massage and facials. Visited for a shellac manicure. I never get shellac but thought since they are a non-toxic salon it would be less harmful to my nails. The manicure itself was great and my tech was nice although there are no extra frills for the price (shoulder massage, extended hand massage etc.). The problem came after I left the salon when my shellac mani chipped less than 24 hours after getting it done. A day later another nail chipped and by 5 days after my appointment I had chips on 4 of my nails. I sent an email but never heard back. For the price ($65) I would say it is not worth it for shellac. read more
