Carrie is a master at what she does!! She has been my go-to stylist for 5 years (blowouts, Brazilian blowouts, cuts, and hair painting/balayage). I have a ton of hair and have had trouble finding a stylist in the past who knows what to do with it. Carrie always provides the best product recommendations and styling tips without ever feeling sales-y or giving me an overly complicated routine. She also has a really cool style and is super easy to talk to, making the longer appointments fly by. Also, Paloma is one of the cutest salons I've ever been to!! But recently, we chopped it all off to an asymmetrical bob. (So chic!) And as much as I loved my little cherub curls, I wanted something more sleek, so we did an Agave smoothing treatment. Being a hair stylist for 30 years , this is a very difficult review for me to write. Made an appointment with Valerie Porcara and am extremely unhappy with the quality of work. Not only did my cut take over 2 hours, I was asked to pay more for the cut I chose. ( as a stylist myself, there's one price for a haircut that's set ) Paid $115, she jacked it up to $125 which I did not pay. The cut is possibly the worst I've ever had. Don't mind paying as long as I get more than a week out of the cut. Upon arriving home and washing my hair the next day is when I could see the quality of the work. I waited a couple weeks hoping it would work out , only got worse. Reached out to Valerie to no avail no resolution. Even asked for Judy half my money back as I'm going to hace to pay someone to fix this mess. read more

What I love about Amy is that she *always* begins with checking in--asking how I'm feeling about the prior cut, what my thoughts are for this one, and if I've had any inkling of ideas that I might want to work towards. She also uses this as a time to get a sense of your hair and where the weight is being kept, or curls might mistakenly show length when wet. It's amazing how many stylists don't do that. She's funny, super friendly, and cool. I can't say enough about Berge, and Paloma Salon. I use to drive out to Little Italy to get my hair done by her, and I've never loved my hair more than when she does it, but her new place is icing on the cake. It's beautiful, and I can sip, snack and feel indulgent. I've had my hair done many places and not liked the feel or style after. It's surprisingly easy to mess up long hair, I've found.
