EatswithEddie is in Santa Barbara for the weekend. Started off the night @lapalomasb. Place was packed due to the FIFA soccer matches but I was able to get a seat at the bar next to the tv and our waiter was superb. I tried the Paloma and it was amazing. For food I tried the local big eye tuna ceviche which was different was good but the killer was the pulled pork arancini so good and amazing lastly I tired the margarita passion with mezcal. This spot is great but you need to make reservations if not the bar is ok but it gets a little loud. I give this place a 4/5 #foodie #eats #eddie #santabárbara #review

Came here for brunch with my friends and we loved it! The food was delicious-- had the smoked salmon toast, and we all shared the Paloma salad and sourdough pancakes... everything was fresh and vibrant. Server was super friendly, too. Highly recommend for a weekend brunch before exploring the city.

Came here for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Very charming outdoor/indoor restaurant with friendly service. We started off with cocktails. It's 15 for a drink but 54 dollars for a pitcher. We ended up getting the Agua Chile Margarita pitcher. It was on the spicy side which we enjoyed. As for entrees we had the BBQ Bacon Burger and the Breakfast Sando. Both were tremendously tasty! Each comes with three potatoes that are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. All in all was solid, tasty, and a cute little location! Would recommend for family brunch, brunch with your girlfriends, or a date brunch. Can't comment on parking as we walked there.

We were looking for a brunch/lunch place that was a bit off the main drag and spotted the Paloma sign and decided to give it a go. The outside patio with all its greenery and flowers creates a very charming environment. Given the name of the restaurant, we expected to see Mexican food on the menu. However, the only items that came close were the margaritas and chilaquiles. Ok, so that was my order, and my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich. Everything was fine until our food came out. Our plates were set down, and the food runner quickly departed without checking if we needed extra condiments or anything. Then we both saw a long dark hair on the breakfast sandwich, but didn't get a chance to tell the food runner because she was long gone. So our next move was to track down our server. It took awhile, but we eventually got his attention. When we showed him the problem, he was extremely apologetic and said he would take care of it right away. And he did. About 10 minutes later, he brought out a fresh sandwich. Overall, the drinks and food were good, but the initial presentation of the breakfast sandwich was bad and got us off to a rough start and that is why I can only give 3 stars.

Delicious food, friendly and quick service, and cute vibes. Walked in on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of seating. The traditional egg breakfast was perfect with a delicious green salsa! The chilaquiles were also flavorful with deliciously cooked steak. Totally recommend checking out!

Cute little corner spot a block off State Street. The restaurant wasn't open yet, so we sat at the bar for happy hour. I had a Paloma cocktail, which was excellent. It had a slice of dried fruit in it, which I always eat, and you could tell this was freshly dried and delicious. Paloma is one of my go to's, and I really enjoyed it. Hubs and I shared a happy hour burger, and it came with a great side of pickled veggies. I almost wanted to order more pickled veggies, they were that delicious. The burger was great mid afternoon sustenance - and as is typical for me when food arrives, I didn't get a pic!

Service was great! I ordered the breakfast sando and it was delicious. Lovely outdoor patio as well

Paloma was beautiful and a really great experience. We ran a lil late and were happy that they were still able to seat us. The steak and potatoes that we ordered knocked it out of the park. If I wasn't so full from the day I could've eaten it all but my husband ended up eating mine lol. The only thing we did not enjoy was the Mac n cheese. It was very watery and had absolutely no flavor. We had to ask for salt and pepper to add a lil something to it.

This has to be one of the cutest brunch spots I've been too!! It was decked out in Christmas decor. Our server was so nice and attentive to us. The food here was also delicious. My girlfriends and I shared salmon toast and the wagyu burger. It was such a simple meal but sometimes all you need is the basics

Came for brunch and ordered some coffee and blueberry pancakes. The pancakes are special because they're sourdough pancakes! They're also the easily the biggest pancakes I've ever been served. The sourdough gives them a slight tang that works really well with the sweet blueberries. The blueberries are spread throughout so every bite has good flavor. Overall, they're delicious and definitely worth ordering

This is the perfect brunch spot! The sunlit patio seating is adorned with lush plants, vines, and flowers, creating an effortlessly beautiful, clean garden vibe. The brunch menu is full of seemingly simple menu items that are executed perfectly and balanced with fresh ingredient and flavors that form lasting impressions on this restaurant. I still think about the unexpectedly large crispy potatoes and the burrata, basil, aioli, and prosciutto inside my ham and cheese sando. This is the perfect patio breakfast on a warm day. I paired it with the mangonada which I would've loved more if it wasn't carbonated but that's just a me thing. One menu item I didn't get that I wanted to because they smelled so good is the sourdough apple cinnamon pancakes. My sister seemed to love them though and they looked pretty big. The staff were very attentive, sweet, and bubbly too. Our server even managed to get us coconut sorbet for my sister's birthday which was not only incredibly nice but perfect since it was dairy-free. Coincidental or not, it was the perfect ending to a birthday brunch.

    Tri tip with crispy potatoes

I really wanted to love Paloma but the food was more miss than hit. The entrees were not balanced, much too heavy on the proteins. Cornbread was my favorite thing on the menu followed the by grilled broccolini. The chicken was super moist with the crispiest skin. Sadly, the halibut was over cooked. Tri tip was cooked as ordered and I enjoy the crispy potatoes, could've used more sauce. Tuna ceviche tasted fishy. For the price point, I really expected better.

I came to La Paloma for dinner on a girls trip, and I had a great experience. I think the food and drinks definitely could've had more flavor, but overall, the service and presentation was all fantastic, and I love how the menu is all seasonal. Since it was my birthday, the server asked if we wanted a complimentary Palomita, which was a smaller Paloma I guess? Tasted strong but was still good overall, but when the check came, we saw we were charged $1 each for the drink. The price was no issue since it was $1 each but felt a little misled. And when it came to entrees, I ordered the Lomo Saltado, but our server misheard me and they gave me the avocado tostada, which really shocked me when they put down just 1 tostada with avocado spread on it, especially since I was expecting Lomo Saltado. The server apologized a lot, and I also felt bad for the inconvenience, especially since he had been so personable throughout our dinner. It was just unfortunate that when my entree did come out, it was really salty so I was to able to eat too much. We also ordered a pitcher of the Bird of Paradise Margaritas, which wasn't as sweet or flavorful as I'd hoped. I feel bad listing out so many complaints, but there were just so many missed opportunities. I will say, the ceviche and cauliflower we had were very delicious. The fresh greens and diced peach paired so well with the ceviche!

    Is it dog friendly?

    Absolutely!

Is there a parking lot? If not, where is the best place to park? I am always nervous about driving to downtown SB restaurants because I can never remember where the parking lots are. Thanks!

There is a parking lot across the way, on Ortega Street.

The cocktails are highly creative, diverse in flavor and design, and really could stand up to any you would find at a top cocktail bar in a major city. The exterior doesn't scream "must come in" but you absolutely should. Is it a tiki bar? Yes, but in the best way. And the bartender deserves applause for pulling off 3+ quite complex cocktails every 5 minutes off of memory and without any support.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.

When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, there were about seven patrons throughout the bar and the outdoor seating area with the live music drew us in. We were told to order at the bar, so while the rest of our party was seated, I stood there for five minutes before someone took my order. Totally fine, but no sorry for the wait or even smile or any warmth from the male bartender, who disappeared for a five minute break shortly after taking my order. The tables at the outdoor seating area were very sticky and since there were no employees in sight I (and the other patrons who arrived then) cleaned the tables ourselves. After waiting 10 minutes I went up to the bar and assumed since our drinks hadn't been delivered, I was supposed to pick them up, I was told don't worry, we'll bring them to you, and after another five minutes, our drinks arrived. The cocktails were decent, nothing revolutionary but I am spoiled in this department, well made but nothing to get excited about . After 30 minutes of enjoying the genuinely nice outdoor area we ordered another round, three shots took another 10+ minutes. When we realized we had to leave to make our reservation, we asked for a box for our untouched food, and we were told we don't have boxes. They ended up finding one for For us, but it appeared to be a pastry box from somewhere else. The female bartender who took over after the male clocked out, was much more personable, but not much more efficient. To their credit, this bar has an excellent selection of tequilas and Mezcal's, so if you're not in a rush and you enjoy those spirits it's definitely worth stopping by. The music was really great and was definitely the highlight of that bar.

Pearl social is such a whimsical fun spot to grab a drink and a snack in the funk zone. We stumbled in for a late afternoon drink and it wasn't very busy inside - giving off "best kept secret vibe". The decor is very feminine yet playful. Loved the design and bar area. We opted for a casual booth area by the bar which was really nice. Also all of the little things were done well, crisp menus, clean bathrooms, and music done at just the right sound level. Their menu in the bar area for food is small but mighty - oysters, cheese plates, you name it. I'm definitely going to keep coming here for the cocktails. I've had one of the best sips in 2025 here - which would be The Mixtape cocktail. My friend told me I had to get it and I'm so glad I listen sometimes lol. This cocktail completely blew me away. The patio is in the back of Cutler's that can be entered around the corner (map on the front door of Cutler's shows the directions). The patio is next to other tasting room patios featuring wine and next door to Lark's restaurant. When we visited the tasting room at about 3pm in the afternoon, we were the only individuals there but started to fill up with other small groups. When a large group entered, the waitress said you will need a reservation as she was only wait staff there. Perhaps a sign is needed to notify people, that groups need reservations. The drinks were spot on- the drinks started at 14 dollars to about 16 dollars for cocktails. The tasting room also offers tastings of their products too. The tastings looked small. The cocktails were well poured. I was just disappointed to find out that I could not get a Bloody Mary on a Saturday- only Sundays- the Bloody Mary looked really good. If you are done with wine, and seeking something different, come relax on the patio here if your vibe is a low key environment with solid distillery cocktails.

We went to Oku around 6pm and it was BUSY, but somehow we lucked out and were seated right away! We…read moresat outside with an amazing view of the water. The vibe was classy and trendy but still lively. Such a pretty spot! The four of us shared a bunch of things. The Everybody Loves Raymond was my favorite roll. It had these little cubes of tuna on top that were almost like a mini poke bowl. SO good! The Crouching Tiger was another favorite. The rainbow and spicy tuna rolls were good too, just more classic. The crispy tuna nigiri was my favorite appetizer. Super fresh with perfectly crispy rice. We also loved the firecracker rock shrimp, which was light and crispy without being oily. We got the sauce on the side so the spice was totally manageable. But the GARLIC NOODLES!! Easily some of the best I've ever had. Buttery, garlicky, creamy and everyone at the table agreed they were amazing. The shrimp fried rice was great too, and they were able to make it non-spicy for us. We obviously did not have room for dessert, so we ordered it anyway The French vanilla crème brûlée was delicious, the green tea mochi was good once I got past the texture since it was my first mochi experience lol, and my sister said the tiramisu was the best she's ever had! Service slowed down a little after our entrées came out, but they were also extremely busy. Great food, gorgeous water views and such a fun dinner. I would absolutely come back. And I'm not sharing the garlic noodles next time.

This place has amazing food! Every dish we got was delicious. Unfortunately our server was not…read morethe best. She did not get my order right and she didn't apologize when I told her. I'm just glad my 805 Roll was delicious. I also order my drink in their cat mug. You have the option of buying it. My drink was pretty strong so it was worth the cost. Over all great food!!
