Emma is the reason we ended up staying for HOURS when we only planned on one drink. She's so knowledgeable about cocktails and clearly loves what she does, you can see it on her face when she's talking about flavor pairings. We asked about her signature drink, the Pink Groni Club (her spin on a white negroni), and it blew the classic version out of the water. I'm a negroni person through and through and this might be my new go to. If you're reading this, ask Emma for it!! Such a bomb time, will definitely be back.

Stopped by for a quick drink. Great drinks, great vibes, great customer service! Amelia was such a pleasure to have as a Bartender. She knew all about the drinks & was professional and personable and we had a lot of laughs together. Super cool bar ambiance inside & would definitely be back, cheers!

Came here for a holiday pop up nightmare before Christmas event which I was super excited for. the drinks were strong. I was bummed out because they had ran out of cucumber so I couldn't order the drink I really wanted. It was only 6pm so it was crazy that they couldn't just go to the store down the block and get more? The bartender was all alone and she got pretty busy. Maybe for an event they should consider more staff. The inside was decorated Halloween themed which was perfect.

Strolled in off of State street looking for a cocktail. Chose the Miami Vice (drink for two). Absolutely delicious. Great service. Highly recommend.

Great service from Owen and Emma! They recommended the Ocean side which I have never tried. Absolutely loved it! Also asked Gustavo to change the music and he was incredibly receptive to the recommendation. Overall, great time at shaker!!

Shaker Mill is a super fun little spot! It's sort of like an elevated food court. We tried a cocktail at one place and food at another and beer at another. We went to check out the Nightmare before Christmas pop up and it was a fun theme. Since we were just visiting for the day and waiting on friends to arrive, we ordered the fries with the old bay aioli and it blew our minds! I don't think I can ever eat another fry without thinking of those. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the aioli was perfectly balanced. I forgot all about my drink because I was obsessed with how good the dang fries were! If we ever go back to Santa Barbara, we are going back to that little seafood shop in Shaker Mill with the awesome fries and ordering everything on the menu. I bet it's all just as good!

Delicious drinks and a fun atmosphere in an awesome location of Santa Barbara! When walking down state street, be sure to pop in here for a drink!

Stopped in here for Fiesta Weekend in SB, when every bar along the Main Street was absolutely packed. Santa Barbara is an interesting place, not sure if it was the weekend or the location or what but most of the patrons were super young. Deadass was like a much classier college bar vibe, but with nicer people, better drinks and no fights breaking out. Wasn't super hard to get a bar seat, but having 3 bartenders on a busy night like that was wild. Literally witnessed the bartender stay calm and make 8 drinks at once, of 4 different types. Very impressive. Had the frozen 2-person Miami Vice and sat on the front patio just taking in the scene. The paper straws are a dub though, consider bamboo for the frozen drinks?

I came here with my wife for cocktails while on a couple trip to Santa Barbara! The location is very convenient within walking distance of many downtown Santa Barbara Hotels. Very trendy ambiance and friendly bartenders. I'd certainly recommend stopping by for a few drinks.

Beautiful bar with innovative cocktails. The decor is simply stunning in the location is fabulous. We enjoyed our cocktail so much that we ordered another couple rounds and came back the next day. Service is super friendly and hard-working, their drinks are works of art, highly recommended if you are looking for a great place in Santa Barbara!

The ambiance as soon as you walk in is pretty cool with vibrant decor and signage everywhere! It's open, and on a hot day, there is definitely air flow, but no AC. You can sit where ever you'd like, but we didn't get instructions from anyone on what was available so we assumed only seafood was on the menu to order. We sat, grabbed some menus and ordered our food. The drinks had to be ordered at the bar. The drinks were absolutely amazing and yummy! We ordered a couple of rounds. As for food, we ordered a variety of things from oysters to ceviche to shrimp cocktails and clam chowder. The seafood was definitely fresh! The flavor was great. However the tortilla chips were a little stale. Over all the service was lacking, but the good and drinks made up for it.

The cocktails are highly creative, diverse in flavor and design, and really could stand up to any you would find at a top cocktail bar in a major city. The exterior doesn't scream "must come in" but you absolutely should. Is it a tiki bar? Yes, but in the best way. And the bartender deserves applause for pulling off 3+ quite complex cocktails every 5 minutes off of memory and without any support.

Test Pilot lands somewhere in the orbit of tiki without fully crash-landing on a bamboo runway, and…read morehonestly, that works in its favor. In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.

When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, there were about seven patrons throughout the bar and the outdoor seating area with the live music drew us in. We were told to order at the bar, so while the rest of our party was seated, I stood there for five minutes before someone took my order. Totally fine, but no sorry for the wait or even smile or any warmth from the male bartender, who disappeared for a five minute break shortly after taking my order. The tables at the outdoor seating area were very sticky and since there were no employees in sight I (and the other patrons who arrived then) cleaned the tables ourselves. After waiting 10 minutes I went up to the bar and assumed since our drinks hadn't been delivered, I was supposed to pick them up, I was told don't worry, we'll bring them to you, and after another five minutes, our drinks arrived. The cocktails were decent, nothing revolutionary but I am spoiled in this department, well made but nothing to get excited about . After 30 minutes of enjoying the genuinely nice outdoor area we ordered another round, three shots took another 10+ minutes. When we realized we had to leave to make our reservation, we asked for a box for our untouched food, and we were told we don't have boxes. They ended up finding one for For us, but it appeared to be a pastry box from somewhere else. The female bartender who took over after the male clocked out, was much more personable, but not much more efficient. To their credit, this bar has an excellent selection of tequilas and Mezcal's, so if you're not in a rush and you enjoy those spirits it's definitely worth stopping by. The music was really great and was definitely the highlight of that bar.

Pearl social is such a whimsical fun spot to grab a drink and a snack in the funk zone. We stumbled in for a late afternoon drink and it wasn't very busy inside - giving off "best kept secret vibe". The decor is very feminine yet playful. Loved the design and bar area. We opted for a casual booth area by the bar which was really nice. Also all of the little things were done well, crisp menus, clean bathrooms, and music done at just the right sound level. Their menu in the bar area for food is small but mighty - oysters, cheese plates, you name it. I'm definitely going to keep coming here for the cocktails. I've had one of the best sips in 2025 here - which would be The Mixtape cocktail. My friend told me I had to get it and I'm so glad I listen sometimes lol. This cocktail completely blew me away. Passionfruit forward, it's silky, sweet yet very well balanced. One of the more unique and tasty cocktails I've had ever and honestly I'm not sure how I could come back and get anything else. 10/10 Cocktail and menu. Super impressed. Kudos to Mark who was working the bar. Such a lovely spirit and kind person. He really is passionate about his menu and the drinks he's curated. Loved talking to him as we got to know a lot more about Pearl social and how some of their drinks were concerted. Really appreciated his time and expertise. This location is in the heart of the Funk Zone near the pier in Santa Barbara. The patio is in the back of Cutler's that can be entered around the corner (map on the front door of Cutler's shows the directions). The patio is next to other tasting room patios featuring wine and next door to Lark's restaurant. When we visited the tasting room at about 3pm in the afternoon, we were the only individuals there but started to fill up with other small groups. When a large group entered, the waitress said you will need a reservation as she was only wait staff there. Perhaps a sign is needed to notify people, that groups need reservations. The drinks were spot on- the drinks started at 14 dollars to about 16 dollars for cocktails. The tasting room also offers tastings of their products too. The tastings looked small. The cocktails were well poured. I was just disappointed to find out that I could not get a Bloody Mary on a Saturday- only Sundays- the Bloody Mary looked really good. If you are done with wine, and seeking something different, come relax on the patio here if your vibe is a low key environment with solid distillery cocktails.

The vibe was classy and trendy but still lively. Such a pretty spot! The four of us shared a bunch of things. The Everybody Loves Raymond was my favorite roll. It had these little cubes of tuna on top that were almost like a mini poke bowl. SO good! The Crouching Tiger was another favorite. The rainbow and spicy tuna rolls were good too, just more classic. The crispy tuna nigiri was my favorite appetizer. Super fresh with perfectly crispy rice. We also loved the firecracker rock shrimp, which was light and crispy without being oily. We got the sauce on the side so the spice was totally manageable. But the GARLIC NOODLES!! Easily some of the best I've ever had. We were the first table seated there, but the rest of the tables filled up quickly. The cocktail menu was great. I ordered a paper plane and my husband ordered a cabrillo, which was a smoky mescal drink. Peter, our server, was fantastic. Friendly and very helpful - I wanted sashimi, but didn't want 5 pieces each of the same fish. Peter suggested we order from the nigiri menu which is 2 pieces each, and make it sashimi style (no rice). This was a great option for us to sample 3 different types of fish (although a bit pricey imo - $16 toro, $10 yellow tail, $10 salmon). We also ordered the blistered shishito peppers ($11) but were surprised not to get a single spicy pepper. For rolls, we had the piranha ($20, my favorite) and Everybody Loves Raymond ($22). It was the perfect amount of food for us. No room for dessert. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at Oku. I thought the price point was a bit high compared to places we frequent in the San Francisco Bay Area, but it was our first time in Santa Barbara so this may be typical.
