So a week before an outing I stopped in. They said Mondays are good for open bowl as long as you are there around 5 PM. I showed up and the man behind the desk was so indifferent. Told me there were no open lanes even though the place was empty. Said team makeups or something are using them. We stayed and played pool but the whole time I saw lanes open. Bowling is always good for the little ones and for the adults they have a bar! Wish they had cosmic bowling but they do have a jukebox with touch tunes so I guess that will have to do. I went bowling with my wife and the kids. I am a white woman and my wife is a Hispanic woman. My wife paid for bowling shoes that hurt her feet and bowled 2 1/2 games without them. During the middle of the 3rd game she was told "either put your shoes on or don't bowl" with an attitude. There was no need to be rude. Given there were white customers 3 in fact bowling in their regular shoes and nothing was said to them. Sounds a bit racist to me. They charged us for all adults and we had 4 kids with us. Kind of upset with the staff. All of them were very short and rude to my friends and I. The old man bar tender was also rude and was annoyed when a few of my friends went in to grab a drink. He also gave them a hard time with their I.d's because they were vertical. I'm glad to see they updated the screens but the shoes are all falling apart and my toes were hanging out the sides. I wish I could give this place no stars! When a member of our group- who is an observant Muslim wearing a hijab came to get a lane so we can bowl, an older man, in a red shirt said she has to wait 30 minutes. When we sent another member because we assumed it was discriminatory (there were many many many empty lanes), who is not physically showing their religious beliefs, the man in a red shirt gave him a lane RIGHT AWAY. Even though they clearly discriminated against us, we bowled because we wanted to have a good time. But it's hard to focus on having a good time, when as soon as we got assigned lanes, the people next to us got UP AND switched lanes just because we were next to them- we being a diverse group of people. I have never experienced such rude and discriminatory behavior in a place in Palos hills in my entire life. I will never ever be back here. If you have experienced this type of discrimination anywhere, please avoid this place because you will experience it here again! If you are a person of color or religious minority-- don't come here! I for sure will take my hard earned AMERICAN dollars elsewhere. read more

The staff is racist! Very rude, We called a head of time asking if there is any available lanes, the guy who answer said YES WE'RE AVAILABLE! Once we walked in (Hispanic family). While I was asking the bald head guy I wanted to purchase lanes, ANOTHER bald head man passes by him and says loud enough to hear and say "don't". After that he said they're full and no lanes are available. I was shocked and then I look at the reviews to see what others said. The comments mostly said how racist they were. Wish I could give this less than one star. The sad workers decide who they give lanes to and are aggressive and rude. They have overcharged my friend for games based on what I assume to be his race. I went to pay and they were murmuring to each other under their breath. I'm sad to say I was a regular at this place and put up with terrible service, getting turned away a countless amount of times when lanes were clearly open (like most of the lanes in the middle of the day) and overcharging and rude and negative attitudes. An example: I went to practice bowl one evening at 8 p.m. was told I had to wait til 9:30 even though lanes 1 through 10 were open the entire time. Ridiculous. Horrible place, horrible customer service and an unprofessional so called manager (Dave). He did not honor our coupon claiming its must be printed when the coupon did not have any bar codes to require printing. We are out of state and visitors to the state and no access to a printer. He did not ask us for a coupon nor disclosed the requirements. That is an FTC regulation violation which we will be filing. Also we will be filing a BBB report. You all do the same. I've bowled here a few times and I've bowled in their annual no-tap tournament 3 years in a row. The staff is ridiculously ornery. They act like they're doing me a favor taking my $$$ for their tournament. I haven't gone one tournament without being yelled at or disrespected in some way. Their lanes are crap. Old school bowling alley but a really fun time! They have a "grill" of sorts and the food that comes outta there is great for bowling alley food. My daughter gets the grilled cheese and it's literally homemade, she loves it! The lanes aren't too oily & they serve up a pretty stiff drink. We have been bowling here for years normally go before noon on Saturday to get the better rate. Mike Ditka (or maybe it's his younger brother LOL)is normally there and he is always been very nice to us. I've never had a problem with any of their employees. I've never had a problem bringing in any outside food or drinks. I have gone a few times at night and obviously with leagues and alcohol thinking get loud and people choose to swear. This is why I do not go here at night because we bowl as a family. Pretty shocked so many people had so many comments about people being rude. The bowling itself is okay. What I didn't like is the bar experience. They use 8oz disposable cups to serve soda. Which would've been nothing if a man over from a front desk, after handling shoes, didn't stick his fingers for A FEW times inside those cups before pouring pop. I like this bowling alley. It's very convenient to my work location, so if I end up staying late, I can run in for a Bowl Your Head Off deal (Mon or Weds) which is $9 from 9:30 pm until midnight. Otherwise, you do have to call ahead and check their prices because it is a little on the high side for open bowling. The only other caution I would add is that Bowl Your Head Off is supposed to start at 9:30 pm, but during league season it's actually when the leagues finish. NOT when a lane opens up: they want most of the teams on their way out before they'll assign an open lane. If you're a night owl, that's fine, but if not you may have to wait 15 or 20 minutes. I thought the staff was professional and not rude, They weren't overly friendly, but that was okay--I came to bowl, not hang out with the bartender. read more

So terribly disappointed. Went to bowl for the open bowling during happy hour, as many people from my school went. Arrived and was told by an unfriendly worker at the desk that there was no open bowling (there were families and other kids there tho) and that i had to come out as late as 10. I don't know if that's true, but the information on the website must not be accurate then. Bowled there before, in the open bowl and it was earlier than ten but my experience was not enjoyable. The perfect place for people who bowl. Not a party place with troublemakers. The center has been recently redone and it looks great. The staff is friendly and the food in the new kitchen is really good. Lots of weekly specials. Lots of leagues to join if you're interested. Came in to bowl at 1120 pm, online says they are open til 1230 am. The employee tells me I cannot bowl because he is closing at 12. I kindly remind me online it states they are open until 1230 am (on mondays). He says on mondays it is 12. Even if they closed at 12 that night, I could've had 40 mins to bowl! There were still lanes open and people still bowling, including my family who had just started a new game! Can't believe they would turn down buisness. It was just so quiet in there cause they don't play any music. If you don't have cash you better make a pit stop at the ATM cause they don't except credit cards either. They close their diner early, so lucky there was a pizza hut across the street, which surprisingly they didn't yell at us for bringing in outside food because the staff seemed pretty strict. Very old lanes (furniture, etc). The management is very rude. The place is always empty because of this. Smells like smoke inside. I think I've seen the bartender smoking at the bar & trying to hide it. I would only go here if I didn't feel like driving farther to one of the bowling alleys in Tinley, Orland or Oak Lawn. The only plus for this place is that they always have lanes open. But their prices are slightly higher than other bowling alleys in the area and every other bowling alley is much better than this one. read more

I used to come here to bowl as a child with my school, a league, & my family. I remember everyone being so nice and friendly. The last few months I have come here after looking online only to be told they're closed or closing in 30 minutes. The time on the door even says what time they're open until and workers say other wise. I could understand if no one was in the place and it was at last call type of thing. The things is I counted 14 people in the place in different lanes and groups. Then two more people come in and stood waiting for someone at the desk for 8 minutes with no acknowledgement so my fiancé went to them hey he's over there talking you might want to go and get his attention. The couple went to get his attention and said you guys can only get one game because we close in 15 minutes and this was at 10:16 when they close at 11 funny thing is he said the same thing to us at 10:05. The door says 11:00pm online summer hours say 12:00 place needs to get it together! Disappointing for a nice little relax time that is supposed to be fun.. Didn't even bother grabbing a drink here either played one game and sat down wrote this review and now leaving. Good luck palos lanes.. Won't be back.
