Wow! I devoured my food so fast that I forgot to even get pictures! I got the chicken drunken noodles and Tom Yum soup! It was absolutely authentic and delicious! It's TruFit next to Harris teeter in the shopping center. When you go inside, the place is super romantic and lighting is sweet. Friendly service with average speed. Great decor. Now the food: Pad Thai, boring until you add a bit of lime juice. They should include a little lime wedge like other Thai restaurants. Chicken Pad Ka Prao, Watch out for the hot peppers. They look a lot like the string beans. Beef Nam Tok Salad, A little spicier than expected. Not really a salad. Too much Lime. Pad Veggies with beef, ok but not enough flavor. Street noodles - way way way too hot. We threw it away. Appetizers: Veggie Spring Rolls good. Tom Yum Soup and Tom Kha Soup, both good but nothing special. Garden Herb Rolls, way too much lettuce. Curry puffs, decent but mundane. Chicken Satay, the dipping sauce was very good. Lastly the symbol with the number of little hot peppers that show you the foods heat level was very inconsistent. Wow - This is definitely a notch above the other Thai restaurants in the area. The layout of the menu is perfect for meat eaters and vegetarians. There are 2 fresh beers on draft. Also, the service is stellar - they remember their regulars and the place feels like an upscale family owned and operated restaurant. I would say the drunken noodles are amazing, but after trying several dishes, pretty much everything is great on the menu and the taste really varies between dishes. This place is a hit. read more

I'm so glad to see this place open in the neighborhood. The food was excellent. We started with the Chive Dumplings, which were perfectly cooked with a very tasty dipping sauce. The Street Noodles with seafood was outstanding. So flavorful. We also enjoyed the Green Curry chicken, which is my go-to whenever I eat Thai. This one more than passed the test. The food was on the spicier side, so be sure to let them know your preference if you like your food milder. Also all of the servers were very friendly and attentive, and the space has a comfortable, modern vibe. If tonight was any indication, we'll be eating here for years to come. read more

I thought that my experience at Pama was solid! The service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food came out quickly despite the restaurant being full! We ordered a papaya salad to share and I ordered the tofu drunken noodles. I thought that both were really nicely flavored but maybe almost too salty. Pretty much the worst Thai food I have had in this area. Nothing really tasted like what I am used to. Spring rolls tasted like grocery store microwavable ones. Paid thai was very stringy and not flavorful even the peanut sauce was not great. Seems like a nice place but I won't be back. read more

Really wonderful dinner here. Always drive by the place and see it busy so we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is very relaxed and staff were great. The food quality was all outstanding, highly recommend the curry puffs and mango curry. Flavor was exceptional and portions were all generous and priced well. We LOVE Pama Thai. I want to say that we've tried maybe a third of the menu but now we've all settled on our favorites (red curry w duck, lychees, and pineapple; red curry w mango and chicken; green curry with shrimp; the spicy Thai fried rice with peppers; etc). Definitely try the crispy duck with whatever you order, whether it's noodles or curry. And when they say "spicy," they mean it - which is a good thing. The spring rolls are great. They have a full cocktails menu (a little hard to find in Potomac). Some impressive looking chef's specials. Lovely decor. This will be the third year in a row that we ask family for holiday gift certificates from Pama, because we love it that much. read more

I love a good Thai restaurant and so my fiancé took me here for an afternoon date. The aesthetics and decorations were really pretty and it gave an old Thai type of vibe. The food was really good and I loved the presentation. My long time friends love Thai foods probably because I'm from Thailand and occasionally cooked Thai foods for them. We decided to try this new local Thai restaurant after passing by it many times on our routine grocery shopping trips. What a nice surprise to walk in and see a specious dining room fully decorated with beautiful wood carving pieces which reminisced of my Chiangmai trips. There were many special drinks on the menu but the one that just blew us away was Lichi Sangria. A good test for a Thai restaurant is how well they can cook the Crispy Whole Flounder dish as it takes some finesse to prepare this expensive dish and a group of people to share it. This was one of the best Crispy Whole Flounders I've ever had as the meat was carved separately and fried using the whole fish as a vessel. Very creative and well worth the price of a dish that not many Thai restaurants dare to include in their menus. Our dinner was completed by the courteous Thai service with patient waiters and waitresses happy to have us spend our time at their place. The humble owner also stopped by to make sure that we were happy with our meal. It is nice to see a good size Thai restaurant that can easily host a big party leaving their customers with the authentic Thai memories to want to go and visit the country. read more

I highly recommend PAMA THAI at the Park Potomac next to Harris Teeter. Finally made our way there the night before Thanksgiving. The offerings are delicious. We visited this restaurant to celebrate a family birthday with an early dinner. My first reaction was that these folks were highly accommodating and service oriented, especially when catering to a party with a small child. They were always around us when we needed them, responsive, and very friendly/approachable (again very important for a family). On the food: I would give it a solid 85%. I think there is some room for improvement there, but very light stuff. For example, some of the veggies in the various dishes can benefit from lower temps/shorter cook times so that they retain their color better... but the taste of the food is spot on, so I didn't reduce their score. Anyways... if anyone from Pama is reading this, I would suggest this as the easiest way to move the food to the next tier. Last question that I'm sure you're pondering: is this the best Thai restaurant in the WDC area? We live in a very restaurant-rich area so I would say its best Thai restaurant in Potomac/Rockville/Gburg, a title that Ben Jarong had for a long time before they ran that place down into the ground. It may be a tie (tied thai?! hehe!) in Bethesda... but I don't think the ease of getting in and out of the restaurant and the ample free parking is matched in Bethesda. read more

Went to Pama for the first time this weekend. Food was ok, but it lacked in service. The waitress did not bring the drink that I had ordered to the table. The place was not busy at all, only three or four tables had customers. I tried a couple times to wave her over with no success. Not once did she check and see if our food was ok. When our meal was finished someone else came to our table to take the dishes and handed me the check. I told him I did not receive the drink and please remove the $3.00 off the bill. When I looked at the register area, he showed the check to our waitress. I thought she might come over and say something. Nothing at all. They corrected the bill. There were no thank you or anything for eating there. No big deal but hopefully management will read this and possibly correct the behavior. read more

This new Thai restaurant is excellent. They now have their liquor license and have really hit their stride. Service is to rate. The server answered questions, and gave good advice on the spiciness of dishes. Every dish was delicious. We especially loved the tom yum soup, and the crispy eggplant. The green curry (we had ours with vegetables and tofu) were also a hit. This was our second visit and we will be back again soon. read more

While I find the pad eggplant with chicken and beef tasty, including when it's mild, the portions are getting smaller and smaller with each takeout order for the same price. The last time I ordered pad eggplant, there was hardly any eggplant in it (maybe four small pieces of eggplant with a very small portion of protein). An entree with rice should be a full dinner and shouldn't leave the diner hungry. On a positive note, the staff have been friendly each time I've been at the restaurant. read more
