This place is a pure takeout without any seating, on the edge of Rockville Town Center. My order was ready slightly ahead of the promised time, and I got a text as I pulled up. They offered a robust discount for first-time orders and I had use for leftovers, so I got a bunch of stuff, and it was all good. They offered an appetizer combo of tofu and spring rolls, which was worthwhile. They have ample labeling for vegetarian/vegan concerns, and I got a drunken noodle and a cashew stir fry, both with extra tofu that I paid for. The noodles were on the spicy side. Not the fanciest that I've ever had, but the vegetarian fish sauce substitute they use adds a depth of flavor that I occasionally find lacking in such dishes. They offer several different Thai tea variants, and the green tea was satisfying. A mango sticky rice delivered plenty of mango. I'll get a solid three meals out of it. Even at full price, in this economy, that's some good food for the money. read more

Rockville is in no shortage of Thai restaurants, but I've enjoyed my dishes at Gimme More Thai enough to be a repeat customer over the other options. They have the cheapest prices by about $2 per entree which is a big deal in my book. The store is nothing but a pickup counter and some chairs to wait and the parking situation can get very awkward. I will say that one time the chicken in my pad see ew was extremely dry, but it was a one-off occurrence. read more

Best Thai food I've had in Rockville! I'm obsessed with Thai food! We've eaten regularly at other Rockville Thai places, all are pretty good, none outstanding. For my birthday we ordered in from Gimme More Thai. Outstanding! Fresh ingredients, vivid flavors, arrived hot. Will definitely repeat. Give em a shot, they recently opened (takeout only) in the same plaza as Yu Noodles (across from Bob's). We got the: Thai fried chicken wings Tom Kha Soup Penang Curry medium heat Pad See Ew medium heat The flavors are more concentrated than most Thai we've had here, they say they spend a lot of time infusing the herbs into the sauces which is why it tastes stronger. The owner has a few restos in Thailand and is trying out his first business in the US. Hopefully they get more business because each dish was fantastic. The Thai Fried wings I particularly liked; I always order fried wings at Thai restaurants because I like the fish sauce based sauces and they definitely get it there extra dank. read more

OK, so realized I am way behind in writing a review for GMT so apologize for that. I first visited in the spring after hearing about this new entry to the Thai dining scene in Rockville. This is a small addition to the increasingly competitive Thai restaurant scene, but it's great to have it! Clearly a family operation. Primarily for takeout as there is only bench seating inside and the last time I was there a couple of picnic style plastic tables/chairs out front. Just a parking lot in front (this is just down from Yu Noodles) so not really a destination for lunch or dinner. However -- on my visits service is VERY friendly. The menu has been upgraded. Pad Thai on my first visit was very good, though I always stress to new Thai restaurants the need to add sufficient scallions and push the flavor close to Thailand-level Pad Thai (fish sauce is the important ingredient obviously) and not "dumb it down". I would apply the same advice to other dishes as I often find that new Thai places are laying off the heat. I'm sure prices have gone up a bit since GMT opened and it's a difficult situation now with costs going up across the board. But I would urge the owner(s) to do everything they can to keep prices for key dishes in the sub-$20 range. Too many other Thai restaurants have allowed prices to leap over $20 -- one new place in DC has dishes at $28 and above -- really crazy. It is possible to stop in at GMT and eat there if you don't mind sitting at the long thin bench table inside. Major competition for GMT invludes Bangkok Garden on Rockville Pike, which is opening yet another branch soon in Kentlands area, or has already . . . Thai Cuisine, which has always been superb, Amina Thai off Nicholson, and Thai Rock, the excellent though a bit expensive newcomer also off Rockville Pike. Sister's Thai at Cabin John remains very good but prices have risen there. Siriwan Thai on Darnestown Rd/Rt 28 has also been excellent. And The Thai House in Gaithersburg continues to get high marks. So my main advice for GimmeMoreThai: keep up the heat and/or offer spice/heat levels on the dishes that deserve and require it. I will be back to sample other dishes and wish Theeratham all the luck in survival in this competitive area. read more

I have been coming here for take out atleast 3-4 times and every time it has been a good and delicious experience. They always text discounts to order online and honestly this drives me to order from them. Online ordering is easy and seamless. The Pad Thai is solid. Even when you make it not spicy (for the kid), it still has flavor. The Drunken noodle is also good, although a bit too much string beans for my liking but the flavors are still there. Their TomKha soups are very solid choices for the recent cold days we have been having. And the best part the guy in the front always remembers me and gives me chilli sauces without asking. Place is small so not alot of seating inside. Mainly just for take out. read more

This may be my new favorite Thai place in the Rockville area! I tried the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, the Ka-Prow with pork, the Crispy Chicken Yum Zap, and the Green Curry with chicken, and everything was delicious. The seasoning was not too salty or too sweet, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Crispy Chicken Yum Zap was probably my favorite - I loved the tangy Yum dressing and the chicken was fried perfectly crispy. I think their fried chicken wings would probably be great also! The drunken noodles were also really good and had the ideal bouncy, chewy texture. Also, the prices are super reasonable, especially compared to other Thai restaurants around the DMV. Definitely will be back to try out other things on the menu! read more

I've been here twice now and can say they are a solid Thai food offering that is worth the visit. This is a takeaway/ delivery spot that does a nice job. Foods I ordered: -pad kee mao (the drunken noodle!!): I really liked the consistency of the noodles and that they soaked up the sauce quite nicely. You are able to customize the order as needed. I went for the extra spicy (I think level 3) and it was a sinus clearing delicious experience. -pad Thai: this place does a really nice job of balancing the sour/sweet flavor that is the key feature of this dish. I asked for this level 1 mild and next time I would probably bump this up to a level 2 medium. - spring roll- crispy and chewy which hits the mark. - Thai green tea- I was SO happy to see this as an offering and it didn't disappoint. I don't see this very often and it's just a really nice alternative to the typical thai tea. Give it a try! - Thai tea with lime- I liked this as well but it is VERY LIMEY which gave it a just a bit too limey for my preference. Next time I would order this with a bit less lime. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other dishes such as the fried chicken, Tom yum, papaya salad, ka prow, panang curry... They have a pretty large menu offering. For folks that have food allergies or food sensitivity, the menu items are labeled with this information which is very handy so you know right away. Parking tip- the lot in front of the store is a bit on the smaller side, so parking across the street and walking over solved my issue nicely. read more

Nice small place. More for takeout than dine-in but we were fine with that. We ordered the drunken noodles with chicken + pineapple fried-rice with shrimp and could hear it being cooked in the back so know it was freshly made and came out promptly, so good service. They pack a lot of food into the containers. The reason for 4/5 stars was that although the taste was really good, there wasn't a lot of chicken in the drunken noodles for the money. Also, disappointed that it was canned pineapple vs. fresh with the fried rice. Most other Thai places use fresh. The shrimp was deveined, which was great, but only boiled and placed on top, so bland vs. seasoned and cooked with the fried-rice like other places do. May come back after trying others in the area. Overall a good experience for the money. Update 6/15/2025: Restaurant replied to my above review with a very generic, unapologetic, canned response, which sounded like it was written by an AI, unlike other replies I saw where they say what they'd do to improve. We've tried other Thai places since going here and probably won't be back unless they improve on what we previously wrote. Food was delicious! Classic wings were great with a sweet and savory fish sauce and a crispy coating that I thought was cornflakes but realized was crispy garlic and/or shallots. Clear Tom Yum soup was perfect, drunken noodles with beef was very flavorful, shrimp cakes were shrimpy with a really good sauce. And the Penang curry was on point! The veggies in the noodles and the curry were cooked right, a little crisp not mushy and not full of peppers like some places. This unassuming Thai takeout spot is the perfect inexpensive option for anybody looking for a reliable pick-me-up or tasty treat. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Yum Zap as well as the shrimp cakes and neither disappointed. The food was hot, fresh, and each ingredient seemed like it was recently prepared. The taste, especially for the low prices, was out of this world. This spot truly deserves some recognition.
