Sushi and Sashimi Chef special and cherry blossom roll
    Crystal C.

Every sushi and sashimi we had are ever fresh. The cherry blossom presentation is very beautiful and taste even better. Salmon fried rice is the best Chinese fried rice I ever had. Service is excellent, from order the dishes to food served only took about 10 minutes. The ambient is lovely and quiet, everything is super clean. I Will definitely come back more often.

Picked up En Bistro on our way home from DC. We tried to order online and the application was soooo anti-user friendly that we ended up needing to call to place the order. I got the combination chow fun, which was shrimp/beef/chicken. My parents shared a bunch of sushi rolls, including the Volcano roll, eel, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and more. When we arrived home, there was no wasabi and my mom typically likes to mix it in her soy sauce. I liked the noodles but they were really sticky so it was mostly just clumps of noodles. There were enough noodles for 2 helpings, but only enough protein for one. Otherwise, it tasted pretty good. My parents thought the sushi was fine. Nothing remarkable to report, so probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but would order pick up again if in a pinch.

We were coming from hiking and looked like tourists. But we were hungry. We wanted a good meal looking like we just came from the gym. We picked this place because of the reviews. We loved loved loved this little treasure of a business. I'm not sure how they have any bad review. The customer service was awesome. The food was super yummy and they were spot on every meal. I loved it!!!! The owner was super nice to other guests and you could tell this was a very loving place to be. We got the crab fried rice and it was loaded with crab. They had drinks from overseas, that was a treat. They also have a sushi bar which was delicious. We will definitely come back and visit when we are in the area. Kudos to the entire staff! If I could rate this 10 STARS I would.

Had a take out order. Food was good, it was busy but somehow very cold behavior from the person who brought the food and charred my card. Hoping the behavior gets better.

Came here after craving some sushi and decided to order the spicy tuna roll. The interior of the restaurant was small, cozy, and very casual. The staff were nice and the location is convenient since it's in Potomac Village. I actually had some trouble finding the door since it's tucked away on the side. The sushi rolls are a bit overpriced ($9 for 6 small pieces) but the flavor of the spicy tuna roll was good and there was a generous portion of tuna in it. It was actually the spiciest spicy tuna roll i've had so beware if that's not your thing. My tastebuds and sinuses were ~tingling~. Even so, it wasn't the best sushi i've had and is quite pricey given that this place is super casual. You would have to order at least 2-3 rolls for a meal because 1 roll is snack size.

Love En Bistro. The sushi is always fresh, delicious and well plated. The new full bar is a welcome addition. The service is always excellent.

We ordered the ribeye Japanese fried rice, Green Monster roll, J-Pop roll, California roll, Crunchy Shrimp roll, Crunchy Spicy Salmon roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, miso soup, and Deep Sea hand roll. Everything came out quickly, fresh, and flavorful - exactly what we've come to expect from this place. The ribeye in the fried rice dish was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly, while the rice itself was seasoned so well that every bite was packed with flavor. My favorite roll was definitely the Green Monster Roll - fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. I also appreciate that the maki rolls here are never skimpy, which makes them very filling and well worth the price. The service was excellent from beginning to end - quick, attentive and consistent throughout our visit. Our waters and hot green tea were always refilled without having to ask, and every request, from extra pickled ginger to additional plates, was handled promptly and politely. Overall, another solid dining experience with no issues at all. I would absolutely recommend this spot for either lunch or dinner if you're craving sushi. One thing to keep in mind is that they do close for a part of the afternoon to prepare for dinner service, so plan accordingly!

Kema started off as a fast casual sushi restaurant, but has become more of a standard sit-down…read moresushi restaurant and seems to have lost a bit of its identity. We frequent Kema quite often (since it opened) and have noticed, in the past year, that there has been a high turnover in their staff, which has led to less quality service (not bad now, but it used to be great). The food and prices have remained relatively constant since first opening, which some may seem as a positive, but for those that go frequently, mixing it up would benefit. Maybe come up with some new rolls or offer new nigiri options. Every time you get a nigiri bento or a moriawase, you get the exact same nigiri. Prices have always been high for a fast casual restaurant, even if it's sushi, but that's not surprising considering the area. I do hope that Kema does recommit to its more fast casual dining experience.

You could tell that this place was busy and the food was good just by how busy they were. When we were seated, we had a large table that was perfect for our group. Our server was Charlie and he was so good and attentive. He kept checking in on us and also kept helping clear empty plates to make room for new dishes to come out. We ordered a la carte and not the buffet because with the buffet you are limited to 1 & 1/2 hours and with 13 people, it is hard to order quickly. Plus, we had a lot of kids with us and they prefer the a la carte menu. The food was all delicious and fresh. The service was on point. Charlie made the night great with his exceptional service and attentiveness. It was my uncle's 90th birthday and they held the cake that we brought to the restaurant in their kitchen for us. Then at the end of the night, they played a happy birthday song and lit the cake for him. They brought us extra plates/utensils and took a group photo of all of us. This a great place to come for a date, celebration, or just to stop by and get some high-quality food. Doesn't seem to be a dress code. Some people were dressed up celebrating an event and others were just in shorts and t-shirts. A+ restaurant and service!

It was really popular that evening, so the three of got squished at the table meant for two, but we didn't mind. The menu is pretty extensive, offering ramen, udon, tonkatsu, rice bowls, grilled fish sets, and more. We ordered pretty quickly, but with how busy it was, it took a bit for the food to come out CHILEAN SEA BASS - 37 As I scanned through, my eyes immediately fell on the miso sea bass. Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Overall, food was delicious and homey. I'd definitely recommend!

Because you know, they are serving raw fish and those fish are caught by fishermen. If you love sushi, I'm fairly certain you cannot go wrong at Tachibana McLean. It's hard to believe the years I spent here might have been a part of the glory days at Tachibana. When they lost their Itamae and were weathered by covid lockdowns, I think the pace of service changed. But the quality of food never has and I've enjoyed every meal here before and since. This is a classic sushi restaurant so you will not get any sort of innovative fusion rolls here. What you will get is a strict adherence to old school tradition and a focus on quality that is worth a visit. It's hard to say favorite dishes because there are so many delicious choices here. If you are sitting at the main sushi bar, you first may enjoy a free gift of whatever the Ittamae is featuring. If you like that fish, then order more of it. For sushi and sashimi, get what you enjoy here because it's fresh and lovely. Do not miss the Philadelphia rolls here because they are extra creamy and the scallions make them a real delight. I also love the New York roll and the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. Back in the day, my go-to was a spicy, crunchy salmon roll. This was always a special request but they humored me since I was a regular. I was also forever asking for a very thin slice of jalapeño in my tuna roll but you could only get that in the less-friendly and ambient sushi cafe down the street. Years later, times have changed and you can now order jalapeños, as well as tempura crumbs and spicy mayo on any roll. They have so many vegetarian rolls here, as well, so that is a whole experience if choose. You can order Japanese pickles, fermented soybean and scallion rolls, a plum and shiso roll, a gourd roll, a cucumber roll and an avocado roll. I so enjoy a big plate of veggie and shrimp tempura here. The tempura batter is not thick and just right. I also have very much liked the katsu's here: either crispy Berkshire pork loin or crispy chicken. It's an old familiar taste which you should not miss out on. The bento dinner boxes are also awesome. I usually get salmon, beef negimake, shrimp and veggie tempura, shumai dumplings and salmon sashimi. A delightful treat. The buckwheat noodles and udon soups are a bit plain and while they are classically good, i more enjoy the sushi. As for the cold sake, I recommend: the Shochikubai Nigori, the Junmai Ginjo and the cloudy pearl junmai if it's on hand. They also have Choya plum wine and a beer and wine list. You will love the green tea presentation in the gorgeous pottery, as well as that they are diligent on tea refills. Their desserts are nice but make sure you at least taste green tea ice cream once. You can get it here! It's not easy to find this at restaurants, even sushi restaurants, recently.
