Wonton soup is pretty good. Crispy beef is absolutely delicious. Would come back every day to eat this beef while I am here on vacation. Staff is very nice. Prices are decent. Restaurant is clean. Plenty of parking. Will be back!

Every sushi and sashimi we had are ever fresh. The cherry blossom presentation is very beautiful and taste even better. Salmon fried rice is the best Chinese fried rice I ever had. Service is excellent, from order the dishes to food served only took about 10 minutes. The ambient is lovely and quiet, everything is super clean. I Will definitely come back more often.

Picked up En Bistro on our way home from DC. We tried to order online and the application was soooo anti-user friendly that we ended up needing to call to place the order. I got the combination chow fun, which was shrimp/beef/chicken. My parents shared a bunch of sushi rolls, including the Volcano roll, eel, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and more. When we arrived home, there was no wasabi and my mom typically likes to mix it in her soy sauce. I liked the noodles but they were really sticky so it was mostly just clumps of noodles. There were enough noodles for 2 helpings, but only enough protein for one. Otherwise, it tasted pretty good. My parents thought the sushi was fine. Nothing remarkable to report, so probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but would order pick up again if in a pinch.

We were coming from hiking and looked like tourists. But we were hungry. We wanted a good meal looking like we just came from the gym. We picked this place because of the reviews. We loved loved loved this little treasure of a business. I'm not sure how they have any bad review. The customer service was awesome. The food was super yummy and they were spot on every meal. I loved it!!!! The owner was super nice to other guests and you could tell this was a very loving place to be. We got the crab fried rice and it was loaded with crab. They had drinks from overseas, that was a treat. They also have a sushi bar which was delicious. We will definitely come back and visit when we are in the area. Kudos to the entire staff! If I could rate this 10 STARS I would.

Had a take out order. Food was good, it was busy but somehow very cold behavior from the person who brought the food and charred my card. Hoping the behavior gets better.

Came here after craving some sushi and decided to order the spicy tuna roll. The interior of the restaurant was small, cozy, and very casual. The staff were nice and the location is convenient since it's in Potomac Village. I actually had some trouble finding the door since it's tucked away on the side. The sushi rolls are a bit overpriced ($9 for 6 small pieces) but the flavor of the spicy tuna roll was good and there was a generous portion of tuna in it. It was actually the spiciest spicy tuna roll i've had so beware if that's not your thing. My tastebuds and sinuses were ~tingling~. Even so, it wasn't the best sushi i've had and is quite pricey given that this place is super casual. You would have to order at least 2-3 rolls for a meal because 1 roll is snack size.

Love En Bistro. The sushi is always fresh, delicious and well plated. The new full bar is a welcome addition. The service is always excellent.

Was feeling hangry because I had planned on stopping at Hard Times for a bowl of chili -and found out they were closed on Mondays. So, pretty much pulled a name out of a hat and would up at Chuan Tian Xia because, well, Szechuan cooking uses chiles, no? Yesssss! I ordered Signature Dumplings and a bowl of Beijing-style Beijing-style Zhajiang Noodles. The dumplings were outstanding: a mix of shrimp, pork, and chive that were plump, juicy, fragrant with the herbaceous flavor of chives. The accompanying sauce was not too sweet, not too hot, just right as a complement to the dumplings. Yowza. I was a happy camper... ...and then I dug into my noodles. Double yowza! Thick wheat noodles topped with a rich sauce made from (I think) fermented soybean paste and braised pork belly, garnished with cucumbers. The portion was way to big for me to eat after my flight, but I really, really enjoyed it (and the remaining dumplings) for lunch today. Did I say yowza? I'm an adventurous eater so the menu's less Americanized items were what I would have ordered given more time (like Maoxuewang: can you say "pig's tongue, spam, pork intestine, and beef tripe"? Protein is protein, baby!). Just means I need to come back, and I will, as quickly as I can.

Maybe 3-5 people as the sweet spot? Things I'd definitely get again: spicy wonton soup, bean curd and thousand year preserved egg. The beef noodle soup was good. The pork and rice I would skip (and the veggie dumplings- they're good but took a lot longer than the rest to come out, I forgot about them!). There was a mosquito in the dining area and so they got a meal too unfortunately. I do wish it was better ventilated while dining in but it's so good!! I came pretty much right when they opened, which was the move, because it was already pretty busy. I ordered the spicy beef tendon noodle soup, pork soup dumplings (which I thought were going to be pork buns based on the description but whatever), scallion pancakes, 1000 layer pancake, szechuan style dumplings, and smoked chicken. I thought everything was really good, despite having somewhat confusing descriptions on the menu. The dumplings were super spicy and I only ate a few, and took the rest home. The portions are surprisingly large, the soup came with additional bowls which made sharing easy. The only downside is really the size and noise. It is a tiny restaurant, and it gets crowded, so it can be quite loud.

A solid spot for sharing with a group, and I'd happily return to explore more of the menu. I really wanted to love this place. The soup dumplings are among the better ones in the area. While the wrappers aren't as thin or chewy as the very best, you can tell they're handmade, and I'll always appreciate that. I'd recommend sticking with the pork soup dumplings since they were rich, savory, and full of umami. The crab version unfortunately didn't have any noticeable crab flavor and tasted almost identical to the pork. The duck came in a generous portion and is a great choice for anyone who enjoys sweeter flavors. The watercress was fresh and plentiful, but it could have used much more garlic. We ended up adding the wonton chili oil and dipping it for extra flavor. The cucumber was delicious, but the portion was way too small. The bean curd was cooked well, though there wasn't enough pork for a dish that was supposed to feature it. The fish was another highlight with light spice, a crispy exterior, and perfectly cooked, tender meat. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more dishes. I enjoy the home-style cooking, and it's the kind of restaurant that's especially fun to visit with a larger group so you can sample a variety of dishes.

We arrived right when they opened around 11 AM on a weekend and were seated immediately since it wasn't too busy yet. One thing to note is that the entire party needs to be present before being seated, which they enforce, but it helps keep things moving smoothly once you're inside. The service felt traditional and efficient, with attentive push carts circulating constantly, making it easy to see what's fresh and grab dishes as they come by. The staff were also accommodating with a baby seat, which made the visit comfortable for families. The steamed cart is always my favorite, and Far East does it well. Standouts for me were the shrimp rice crepe (silky and delicate), shrimp dumplings (har gow) with plump, juicy filling, and the steamed ribs, which were tender and flavorful. The chicken feet and tripe were also well prepared -- classic dim sum staples done right. I also loved the sticky rice, which was fragrant and satisfying, along with two must-order bakery items: the pineapple buns and egg tarts. Both were fresh and comforting, with the egg tarts having that perfect balance of flaky crust and smooth custard. Overall, Far East delivers a solid, traditional dim sum experience -- lively carts, reliable favorites, and a welcoming environment for groups and families. Great spot to gather, share dishes, and enjoy a relaxed weekend dim sum meal. Definitely glad to have seating back again.

This was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had at a local restaurant…read more My neighbors and I decided to celebrate a birthday at this neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We ordered the Human Delight and specifically requested that it be prepared without any spicy sauce, as two of us cannot tolerate spicy food. When the food arrived, each of us served ourselves and immediately realized the dish was spicy. We called the waiter, who acknowledged that he had entered the order correctly as non-spicy. He took all of our plates, along with the entire entrée, back to the kitchen. When the replacement arrived, we immediately noticed it was served on a much smaller platter and contained no shrimp or scallops, even though those are standard ingredients in Human Delight. We asked the waiter why the dish was smaller and missing key ingredients. Instead of addressing our concern, he appeared annoyed and asked, "What do you want me to do?" We simply asked for the dish we had originally ordered and paid for: Human Delight with shrimp, scallops, beef, chicken, and pork, prepared without the spicy sauce. The waiter then called the manager. The manager identified himself as the cook and stated that he would not add more shrimp or scallops. We explained that we had not eaten the original dish because it was prepared incorrectly and that the entire entrée had been taken back to the kitchen along with our plates. Instead of apologizing and correcting the mistake, he said he needed to inspect the returned plates. After doing so, he claimed he had found only "half a shrimp" on one plate--something that was simply untrue. Eventually, he brought out a third version of the dish. Although it was still noticeably smaller than the original portion, he said he had added "three shrimp and three scallops" this time although he could not account for the rest after checking our plates. We are three women in our 60s and 70s, and we were shocked by how we were treated. Rather than apologizing for serving the wrong order, the staff questioned our honesty and acted as though we were trying to get something we had not asked for. The way this situation was handled was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. We left feeling insulted rather than valued as customers. We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good customer service or food.
