It's a prefix menu which allows each person 3 items on the whole menu as opposed to being given 1 item per course. A concept I have never seen before but worked out very well for our table. Our group shared plates which allowed us to try an array of items. I wish I had pictures but the food was gone so fast I didn't get a chance. The hit of the table was the short rib (very tender) and Lumache. Another highlight for me was the Pork Milanese. Extra thanks to the accommodating staff! We ordered the: -Scallops crudo with the uni supplement -Rabbit ravioli -Lumache -Lobster biscotto -Lamb -Pork Chops I would recommend the scallops crudo with the uni supplement, the lobster biscotto, and the lamb. Those dishes were so good. I thought the rabbit ravioli was meh. The service was great. However, my boyfriend asked for no apples in his lamb because he is allergic to them. The dish accidentally still had apples in them. My boyfriend is not severely allergic, so he just ate around the apple bits. LOVED Pammy's! Came here on a Friday night for dinner with a friend in town. You definitely need to make a reservation online beforehand. The menu changes often, but all of our dishes were outstanding. The waiter was knowledgeable and helped make recommendations on cocktails and food choices. The current pre-fixe menu during COVID times will definitely leave you very full, so come hungry. Prices are reasonable for the level of service and quality of dishes. The indoor dining area was so cute and still comfortable during COVID times with hanging glass separators between the tables. They also have cute outdoor seating, but we opted for indoors because of the cold. Definitely will be coming back here for all special occasions and for guests visiting. read more

A local colleague recommended Pammy's, so we came here for dinner one evening. Upon walking in, it felt like I had been swept into old-world Italy, except with a very modern flair. We were seated at a high-top table and quickly given menus. Intrigued by the lumache pasta with gochujang--specifically because I am always dubious whenever someone fuses Korean sauces/food into totally non-Korean dishes--I ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised that 1) the gochujang was actual gochujang and not the junky sweet stuff that you find at most "fusion" restaurants and 2) that it actually tasted wonderful. The combination of the gochujang with the bolognese sauce was unexpectedly complimentary to the pasta itself. Well done. I appreciate that Pammy's has an air of relaxed class. It's not stuffy at all, although you feel that everyone dining there is doing so intentionally, and not just to rush through a meal. My favorite restaurant in Massachusetts, maybe New England. They think of the little things that every restaurant should- coursing out your order, keeping the traffic flow of the restaurant consistent, always having the perfect wine or cocktail recommendation. Oh, and having an amazingly delicious menu that is so difficult to order from because you want everything! The negroni on tap is delicious and a must-have. Some dishes they no longer have on the menu that were stunning- mushroom toast, spaghetti 2.0, and the fresh tomato dish they had over the summer. My god. Out of the newer dishes, the duck, the raw brussels, the bucatini, and the octopus are all absolutely unbelievable. The antipasti platter is unique and diverse. Last time I got it I got fried olives filled with foie gras, and there were sour cherries on the side? what??? I've been coming here for years. The quality of food and service has remained remarkable. Unfortunately there has been a noticeable reduction in the portion sizes. I'm very picky with cocktails. This is the only restaurant where I'm excited for one no matter the liquor. The cucumber cocktail was nice and refreshing. The swizzle reminded me of a cold muled wine, well flavored but perfect for the summer. Carmine Club was delicious rouning off with a nice but not too sweet rum flabor. The primrose path is a whiskey/scotch lovers summer dream. It isn't very peaty as most scotches lean toward. Dont fear the lavendar bitters. WILD KING SALMON CRUDO - small but perfectly balanced. Such a well thought out dish, the cilantro, the sesame the tomato broth everything paired perfectly. The lumache was a crowd pleaser. The fish was perfectly cooked and the farro and peaches was once again perfectly paired with some savory mushrooms. I love this place. It was a well crafted drink though, just not my type * Far From Home ($15) - a sweeter rye cocktail, due to the maple rye they use Their menu is a rendition on a tasting menu, they offer 3 dishes for $69. * Big Eye Tuna Crudo - they offered 3 pieces, each piece consisted of a piece of tuna on top of crispy rice, topped with roe. Perfect for sushi lovers! * Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras ($7 supplement) - definitely worth getting! The foie gras was perfect and the French toast complimented it so well. The perfect amount of sweet and savory. * Lamb Belly Piadina - a unique addition to their menu, and our FAVORITE. Definitely the highlight of our dinner. The meat is so tender and melts in your mouth. * Lumache - got this based on another Yelper's recommendation. Probably was my least favorite. It's their take on a spicy bolognese, it's unique, but just mediocre at its finest. * American Red Snapper - a light, airy well cooked fish! Hidden gem of Central. Incredible Italian place! Love the ambiance. The bar is especially pretty, with a Grecian statue overlooking the wide selection of spirits. Menu doesn't offer many options, but everything is delicious. For appetizers, we had the lamb wrap and tartare. Both delicious. For mains, we 4 had the bolognese, rabbit pasta, wagyu steak, and sea bass, everything was phenomenal. Wish I had enough room for dessert but I was too full! This place was amazing. The decor and the whole entire atmosphere had a very good vibe. I got the softshell crab, lumache and the lamb saddle. The softshell crab was such a flavor bomb. The crab paired with the sweet pickled cucumber and avocado very well. For my taste the lumache was not the best, because the pasta was under cooked by a minute, but the sauce was good. It was a meat sauce with gochujang. The gochujang was a nice heat component which made the overall dish better. The entree was the best. The lamb was perfectly cooked to medium rare and it had so much flavor. Our server was Michelle and she was awesome. Overall this restaurant is one of my top ten favorite restaurants. read more

I had heard the hype about Pammy's and wanted to try it out. This place is extremely busy even on weeknights. The interior is beautiful and bustling. Staff overall were gracious and attentive. The bread they serve before meals is AMAZING and I would eat an entire loaf if I could. We tried the mussels and squid ink arancini which was delicious all around. The arancini balls were very crispy on the outside but overall good flavor. I ordered the spaghetti which was delicious. I feel as though the peppers in it were pickled (?) or something, which for me took away from a dish that was already so good. My friend ordered the capatelli (??) and her portion was much smaller. She said the fresh pasta may have been undercooked but it also may have been served veru al dente (I didn't try her dish!) We waited a bit for someone to ask if we wanted dessert, and then finally settled on the semifreddo. Dessert portions here are quite generous considering the size of the meals. All the desserts at the table next to us looked divine. Our semifreddo had so many great flavors and textures going on with the buttery crumble to the citrus fruit. I would come back again as I believe they change their menu. Good pasta in this area is so rare! read more

The grilled bread that came with the sweetbreads course was so charred that my fingers left black marks on my napkin; pasta was thick and gummy, served with a pretty forgettable sauce and topped with haphazardly scattered grated cheese; and the venison was unappetizingly underseared. Five stars-great service, attractive setting, good variety of menu options and a flexible format. Now for the food-wow! The combinations of ingredients were spot on. The chef delivered food perfectly cooked and with lively flavors that truly popped. It was obvious that texture was no after thought in this kitchen - the juxtaposition of textures in our meal elevated the whole experience. This element of food enjoyment is sometimes forgotten in lesser hands. We ordered wine pairings to accompany our three courses and we received interesting picks that we truly enjoyed. From the overly-salty chunks?! of hiramasa crudo that make you question what on earth the chefs are thinking back there, to the exceptionally underwhelming signature Lumache pasta, Pammy's would not be considered anywhere near a top-tier restaurant in any other respectable food city. They earned this one. Make sure you make a reservation because this place gets packed. Came here with three friends on Friday night, made reservations for 9PM (the only available slot they had open about two weeks prior when we made reservations). We ended up waiting a little longer than expected, but the manager was quick to apologize and got us seated. We ordered a couple drinks, two appetizers, two pastas, and an entree to share. For starters we got the Seared Foie Gras and the Veal Bruschetta. Both were DANK. The foie gras was very fatty, and the veal bruschetta was a little hard to cut, but both were really good. We ordered the Spaghetti, Lumache, and Wagyu Short Rib Steak for mains. The Lumache used gochujang, which I thought was a little strange, but it resulted in a delicious spicy bolognese, so props to the chefs for coming up with that. The only blemish was that the waitress thought we wanted the wagyu dish after the pastas. Unaware of this decision that she made for us, we asked the manager to just cancel the order and get the check. He quickly came back and said that the steak was on it's way, but felt bad for making us wait, so all the drinks we ordered were on the house. We're glad he did because the steak stole the show. It is a MUST when you come. It just melts in your mouth, cooked perfectly. It's the small things that made this place stand out. Check my search history. It is an actual fact I have never in my life searched for an "Italian restaurant". The reason is because Italian restaurant in the parlance of any major city translates to "$20 for tomatoes and noodles". But there's something about Pammy's. Walking by it you see that dim candle-like-light that makes everything, people included, look delicious. You see the ridiculous ivy wreaths and Greek statues that teeter just on the edge of kitschy. And the name. Pammy's. Doesn't exactly conjure romantic music and short rib. More like a plate of steak fries swimming in gravy. But Pammy's pulls it off. It manages to be an irritatingly high-end place in an irritatingly pretentious neighborhood and still deliver some solid food. We had the pasta bolognese, which came out impossibly perfect in texture and with a satisfying bite of spice. We also had the short rib (which, again, scared me a bit because Wagyu usually translates to "we put soy sauce on it") which was so tender I didn't even need the steak knife they didn't bring me. They also have Negronis on tap. Which is awesome, I assume, if you like Negronis. I agree that the service isn't going to win any Olympics, but once you have a face full of beef, pork and gin, you probably don't want anyone to bother you anyway. Also. The evening started off pretty well. My two girlfriends and I started off with the wine pairing and the lobster bisque- both of which were delicious. Our next course was the mushroom toast with truffle- while it was tasty, the truffle (for $25 supplement per person) had no flavor whatsoever. At the end of the evening, AFTER having paid our $600 bill, we politely mentioned that the truffle lacked flavor...feeling like an establishment like this would be interested in that kind of feedback. Our server replied that he "didn't hear us complaining while we were eating it." We clearly weren't looking for a handout, considering, again, that we had just paid our bill. Probably my favorite meal in Boston this year. Good: the food! The Rabbit pasta (malfaldine, a ribbon pasta) was super balanced with slight sweetness of the meat against the pickled onion. The Bronzino was not the star of its namesake dish (the eggplant!) but was perfectly fork tender and sat on rich polenta. The Calabrian chili gave almost an asian flair against the cumin. Almost everything was perfectly salted. The space was gorgeous, too! Average: the Pork Milanese was delicious but it was also one-note and basically a huge hunk of fried pork under arugula. Became a bit hard to get down as it was so rich. Bad: not much. The service was maybe a bit absent but pleasant. Reservations are tough, it was packed and I made these weeks in advance. read more

I would have liked to have given 5 stars but my bf did not enjoy the experience as much as I did. We went on a Friday night and had reservations (made weeks in advance). Our table wasn't ready when we are arrived, so they had us stand towards the end of the bar area. They did take our coats, gave us menus to browse and offered to get us cocktails. Fortunately we did not have to wait too long as there was not much space to stand. Overall I loved the look of the restaurant. Great lighting, fireplace, etc. Unfortunately the fireplace was part of the issue. We ended up being seated at one of the tables next to the fireplace. My boyfriend was concerned he would be too hot sitting directly next to it so I took that seat, I was fine temp wise. He ended up sitting in a chair to the side but he felt as if it was in the middle of a busy walkway. Numerous people either bumped into him or brushed against his chair. Also people standing waiting for tables behind him and/or sitting to the side of him were shining their phone flashlight in his eyes as they tried to view the menu. The good news is we had fantastic cocktails and food. They recommended that we each get an appetizer and entrée. I had the octopus which was delicious, and the Bolognese which I thought was good. I believe he had the foie gras and some type of beef entrée (maybe venison) which was perfectly cooked and super tasty. I ended up ordering dessert which was another issue. We ended up waiting 20+ min for the dessert when we were told that the ticket was lost. By the time it arrived my bf was just super aggravated and beyond ready to go. We went to Pammy's on the first snowy night of winter. Glad to be out of the cold, we were greeted immediately with warm smiles and led to our table near the fireplace. We sat at a large shared table in the middle of the restaurant. I'm not usually into shared tables but this one provided appropriate intimacy and space, while still being close enough to eye your neighbor's dishes. We started with drinks (an airmail for me, a draft beer for my boyfriend) and crusty homemade bread. I'm a sucker for sea salted butter and happily piled it on. We ordered two starters: the braised octopus with crispy polenta, red pepper pesto and cucumber yogurt; and the foie torchon with mission figs, radicchio and saba (similar to balsamic). Both dishes were stellar - the octopus was perfectly cooked and the foie provided some of my favorite bites of the night. For entrees, we each ordered pasta. For me, the nodi marini (guanciale, broccoli rabe, poached egg, bottarga) and for him, the lumache with bolognese sauce and gochujang. I'm a sucker for fun pasta shapes and loved how it held onto the sauce. The broccoli rabe was just slightly bitter but otherwise it was a great dish. The lumache was your classic bolognese with a twist -- the gochujang added just a hint of spice and uniqueness to one of my favorite Italian pasta dishes. Finally, with just a little room saved for dessert, we ordered the cocoa nib cake and licked our plates clean. It was a perfect ending to a fabulous meal. read more

My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary dinner. We sat at the bar first to get some drinks since we arrived early. The bartender helped us choose our order and the cocktails were the perfect sweet start to the evening. They offer a three course meal for $69 a person. For that many meals at a fine dining restaurant, it is a great price. The portions are adequately sized such that you are not full throughout. I started off with the lobster biscotto which provided a spicy take on your classic lobster bisque. Not too spicy for those with a mild palate like myself - it was delicious. My girlfriend enjoyed a Brussels sprouts salad for her first dish. For both of our seconds, we had the Lumache - a rich, bolognese dish. That is a must have here, both of our favorites for the night. We both shared our final courses - the duck and the gnocchi. The juicy duck's umami was perfectly complemented by a cranberry relish. The gnocchi was delicious - the simple butter and walnut pesto was a perfect pairing for a hearty pasta dish. Throughout the night, the service was consistent and quick. We had one of our favorite meals in a long time at Pammy's. We were able to get an 8:30 patio reservation this past Saturday. They seemed busy both inside and out. It took until almost 9pm to get our cocktail order but after that the meal was spaced out perfectly. Highlights were the Salmon Gazpacho, Lumache, Binchoton Grilled Lobster Tail, and Wagyu Skirt Steak. I would highly recommend each one of these dishes. The chef is truly outstanding. Also, we chose to do the wine pairing and it was perfectly matched to the food. Make sure to make a reservation in advance! We called ahead at 6p.m. on a Friday asking about the walk-in situation, and we were told that there would be no problems. We got there at 6.30 and was told that there was a 45 mins wait, but ended up waiting for more than 90 mins.... My friend and I decided to share a dish from each course, so we ordered the seared foie gras, lumache, wagyu beef short rib and tiramisu. Seared Foie Gras We were both pleasantly surprised with the squash caponata as we usually do not like squash, but we liked it here! The squash had a natural sweetness to it that helped to cut the grease of the foie gras. Lumache The lumache was amazing! But we were not fans of the tamarind honey (kinda odd, too tart, did not taste the tamarind) and coarse polenta (did not like the gritty texture and taste). Tiramisu I like how there were multiple thin layers of sponge and mascarpone cream, and you could soak it in as much coffee as you like. Really loved the taste of the gianduja, and how easy it was to cut right through it! Tagliatelle I was told that they usually do not do take out, but they allowed me to bring an order of the tagliatelle home for my husband. Thank you!! The pasta was good as expected, but we thought the sauce was a little on the sour side. The décor of the restaurant was really chic and stylish, I loved it! The only complain I have would be about the size of the tables. The tables were way too small! My husband and I had dinner at Pammy's this past Saturday night, and it was nothing short of amazing! Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the front of the house staff, they checked out coats, and found us a cozy spot by the fireplace to wait for our table. As we looked around, the space felt warm and inviting. One of the servers brought us drink menus to look at while we waited. As per his suggestions, I had the "Casper" and it was delicious. My husband had the "Flight Delay," which he enjoyed very much. We were brought to our table shortly after and greeted by Ryan, our server. We could immediately tell that Ryan knew the menu inside and out. He described the nightly specials for us and also made some suggestions on the menu. He helped clarify menu ingredients that we had never heard of. We eventually settled on the mussels to start, the Casarecce pasta for me, and Pork Milanese for the hubby. The food was RIDICULOUS! My husband and I agreed that it was one of the best meals we've had in Boston after living here for almost two years. The portion sizes were very fair and we actually ended up taking home some of the pork. The servers remained attentive throughout the whole evening. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend! If there was one drawback, definitely go in knowing that it is on the pricey side. Michelle was an absolute delight, the food was amazing. They made my husband's birthday really special.

Excellent quality and care go into all of their dishes as well as the entire dining experience at Pammy's. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable, especially about great wine pairings to go with each dish. The atmosphere when they were open for dine-in pre-COVID was lovely, warm, and cozy. I have come twice during COVID to order take out and the dishes I ordered were all exceptional (lumache bolognese, kale salad, and calamari on one visit and then the eggplant parm with toasted garlic bread and spaghetti on my 2nd takeout visit). Their pasta is all homemade and cooked to perfection...al dente...and is tremendously good. You will spend a lot here but the quality you get is worth the cost. I can't wait until they re-open for dine-in service post-COVID so I can treat myself to a nice meal there. read more

Made a rezzie amount 2 months ago and was so excited to come here for dinner last night to celebrate my father's 75th b-day. We were accommodated with everything we asked for: a quiet table, an earlier reservation at 6:30pm and they gave us one of the nicest booths in the entire place. The food was incredible: -burrata + ocotupus - amazing. -all pasta (and their portions) were perfect. -fish eggplant dish was great -very great desserts -wonderful waitress -amazing cocktails. This is my new favorite celebratory restaurant in Cambridge-- ambiance is perfect. Do note though it DOES get loud so if you are with elderly folks I would recommend a 530pm or 6 30pm res. By 8:45pm it was LOUD here but def. still a great vibe. Everything from the bathroom to the little cookies after you pay are all great touches -- this place does not miss a beat with making a great experience. Can't wait to come back for my own birthday! Not quite sure why this place has such good ratings, awful service and an over complicated menu. The martinis were half full and tasted sub par. Had to ask for the bread which came 20 minutes later. So many better places in Cambridge, choose wisely! read more
