Wow! This kitchen is on fire! We were happy to find Mida open on the 4th of July! We were in Boston for a week and had some excellent food and this was our favorite restaurant of the trip. The service was amazing from the kitchen. We had a food party and shared all items. Pizza, fritto misto, braised beef on cauliflower puree ( no picture it was so good I forgot) Caesar salad and meatballs (also forgot to shoot a picture). Food was absolutely amazing. One note that I would normally score down on service when I order a drink before dinner I should at least get the drink and be able to consume it before all the food comes! Mida missed an opportunity here in timing the food and lost some liquor sales as a result. We gave this feedback to our server. Food was totally worth it and the vibe of the space was nice. I made a reservation for three people for the Sunday before the Boston Marathon. They had a special menu for runners if you wanted a lot of food. Only one of us was running, so we ordered off of the regular menu. I got a good glass of red wine to drink, and we got the arancini to start. It was very good! However, you only get four pieces that aren't that big. They do bring some bread and olive oil to you before the entrees, which is nice. I ordered the paccheri bolognese. I liked the sauce and the broccoli rabe was different but added some good flavor. My friend got the bucatini all'amatriciana and liked it. The portions were decent but not huge. I finished all of mine and wasn't full. The inside is a bit tight, so it wouldn't be great for a big group. The service was very good, and they were very attentive. read more

We ordered a bottle of white wine and they didn't put it in a chiller or wine sleeve, which is a must for white wine. They could have been a bit more attentive in checking in with us if we needed anything. Pizza was solid and reminded us of New Haven pizza (very thin and crispy). Pasta was good not great, and we preferred the pizza more. We had a later reservation so feel like the hiccups on the service piece were due to that. Rounding up from 3.5* I was looking forward to trying out Mida after hearing great things about their other locations and since I live in the area, but the experience wasn't anything special. We got the mushroom pappardelle, Icelandic cod piccata, roasted chicken, and meatball appetizer. Everything was pretty salty (especially the farro and risotto), but the chicken and cod were cooked well. I don't think I would return on my own but wouldn't complain if I came back for a party or by invite, and I would try the bolognese or pizzas. Mida never disappoints! They have several locations throughout the city but the Fenway one has quickly climbed to the top of the list. My partner and I go consistently and sit at their bar right in the front of the restaurant. The space has been occupied by several restaurants in the past but had really seemed to take off since Mida moved in. They have a solid drink menu with cocktails and special wines that rotate regularly. The menu changes slightly depending on the location but the true stalwarts are available including the eggplant Parm and the mushroom pasta dish. We also love the mussels with the Calabrian chili pesto. The service is excellent. So yes I did go to 2 seperate locations today. Service leve at both was the same - excellent! We love to see consistency, the bread great at both warm with olive oil. This time went with the meatballs as an app(delicious) but the pizza! An ode to New Haven style for sure! Thin, but no flop great crisp! First time here and very very disappointed. Cute vibes but the service is so understaffed. Food comes out so slowly and not all the entrees came up at once. The starter bread also didn't come until after entree. For a party of 5, we were frankly thoroughly disappointed about the food. My friends all ordered some sort of pasta that is beyond average. I had the bag of funds salmon which was oily, underseasoned, though I do appreciate the crisp of the salmon skin. It was otherwise not worth a second visit. Beautiful new location in Fenway! I've been to the South End location a few times and always enjoyed my meal. Highly recommend booking a reservation in advance! Loved the Amalfi Coast cocktail. Very sweet and fruity. Ordered the carbonara, braised pork tagliatelle, and carne supremo pizza. The carbonara was my personal favorite. The noodles were perfectly al dente. It was my first time trying pizza at Mida, and it didn't disappoint! The tagliatelle was pretty good, but I felt like there was too much going on and the noodles were not as thick and substantial as I would have liked. Lovely meal at this newly opened location in Fenway! First time at Mida! We walked in on Friday night and were expecting a wait given they seemed quite packed and also some groups of people were waiting for their table. But surprise surprise they had a table for 2 and we were seated immediately! The hubs ordered the Amalfi coast drink - he liked it. We ordered the charred cauliflower with romesco sauce as an appetizer and it was really good. The dill and mint were unexpected and added great flavor. They also brought bread and olive oil - 2 pieces of bread. I ordered the Bay of Fundy salmon which came with smashed cannellini beans with spinach in a light broth sauce and a parsley gremolata which was very lemony and added good flavor. The salmon was well cooked crispy outside and tender inside. I only wish they would add some carb to this dish, perhaps some rice or potatoes to make it a bit more filling. Although I was ok because we had had bread and appetizer so it was ok. The hubs ordered the sausage tagliatelle which he liked. It was a good portion so he had leftovers to take home! Pasta Baby! Aboard the ship to a pasta party at Mida. I never could find my way to their South end location but once I saw the fenway location open, I took a leap of faith. I think they just opened a few months ago and the outside is really cute with their photogenic photo wall with their big logo right in the middle. Step inside to a dimly lit restaurant with lots of different patterns and building materials showcased from the ceilings to floor. So much to look at along with some cute plants hanging off the wall. You have to wait to be seated until the whole party is there so I took a seat at the bar until my friend walked in. It was busy on a Wednesday night with a majority of tables taken. I've been waiting for this honestly after hearing my mom rave about it years ago and was underwhelmed with the experience. They start you out with some plain bread not toasted or anything different from what you'd get at trader joes. The server was nice and very attentive and the food came out really fast. I ordered the paccheri bolognese and ....don't think I've ever said this but it felt overseasoned and the pasta texture felt somewhere between undercooked and chewy. For $26, I was kind of expecting more than about 8 noodles in a large bed of meat and sauce. We got a pizza and that was just okay for me as well. I did, however, really enjoy the drinks. They were visually appealing and tasted yummy, loved the sangria. Seeing a Shirley temple on the menu made me so happy and it looked refreshing! Also, nice to know that they can make all their pastas gluten free. First let's start with the olive oil and the bread, not going to lie they were kinda skimpy with the bread (only 1 slice of bread cut in half for two people with like a whole plate of oil). We've been to the South End location before, so we were excited to hear that Mida opened up a new location in Fenway. We ordered the eggplant parmesan, pizza bianca, smoked short rib lasagna, and paccheri bolognese. Everything was delicious and the servers were very kind and attentive. We had to wait about half an hour for the dessert (the citrus almond cake and pistachio gelato) but it ended up being on the house because of the long wait. The pistachio gelato was delicious and fragrant, and we would definitely get this again. A few of the people in our group noted that the citrus almond cake had a strange, almost garlicy aftertaste though. Negative 5 stars is what I'd love to rate this establishment. There is an older fairly bald Caucasian male that is extremely rude and disrespectful to say the least. On 2 occasions I've encountered his very bad attitude and very poor behavior for an employee, much less a manager. While the food was fine, neither my husband or I remember much about the meal (except the squash blossoms, those were solid). What we do remember is how little the staff seemed to care about actually having people dine at their restaurant. After we were seated at an empty table, our waitress came to take out order. They hadn't put out napkins or silverware, but we figured that would be coming next. We were wrong, and had to ask them to bring them out. We also ordered drinks, which were great, but they didn't arrive until we had finished our meals and I had asked about them. We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was pretty solid! The pizza bianca was good and light (not super salty/heavy), the pistachio/dill salad was really good, and the pork chop was solid. I wouldnt get the calamari again because it was a little too salty for me and the ratio of squid to lemons were not that great for the price. I love the vibes of the place because it wasnt too loud and it wasnt too dim. The space itself was pretty tight and I was worried I was going to knock something off because my table was wobbly, but they were able to help with that. Leaving Logan airport after traveling all day I placed an online delivery order for a salad and two pastas. Got a text confirming the order and another text confirming delivery. When I got home there was a bag on my front step from Panera with a salad. I called Doordash who acknowledged the mistake and said they would have Mida remake the order so they can deliver a fresh hot dinner to me. Doordash called Mida who told them they would not remake the order and only offered me a refund. No dinner after a day of travel. Awful customer service. I will never order from them again - or eat in their restaurants - and neither should anyone else which would only support and endorse their indifference to paying customers. read more
