Do not take your car here!!! I took my car here in April because my AC was not working and they were the closest auto shop to my apartment so it was convenient. They first inspected it and recommended I replace a valve because there was a bit of liquid around it and that could be where the leak is coming from. I paid $400 for them to inspect the AC and replace this valve. Took my car home and a few days later the AC was not working again. I called back and they didn't seem surprised that it had stopped working. They told me they had put a fluorescent dye in when they recharged my AC so that it would be easier to spot the leak when I brought it back. I now know this is common practice and was necessary to identify the AC issues, but I dont know anything about cars and was annoyed they hadn't communicated this. They replaced the valve again and within days my ac stopped working. They quoted me to replace my entire ac system. At this point I got a second opinion and found out the problem was with my condenser and it was an easy fix. I called pampered auto care back bc I was hoping they'd offer me some kind of refund for wasting my time. Instead she kept insisting that the other place must've missed something and fixed it wrong, she told me she would be surprised if my ac lasted through the summer and would give me a refund if it did, but said she's "never been wrong before" My ac works perfectly. I called again now that it's the end of summer without much expectation. She insisted I bring the car by so they could inspect it and "make sure I didn't end up getting my compressor replaced too." I don't want these people to ever touch my car again bc it's clear they have no clue what they're doing, and she just kept trying to argue with me on the phone about how I waited till October to call when the end of summer is in September. Y'all! Don't take your car anywhere else! Would have been charged 12x the final Pampered price by the dealer and have both quotes to prove it! Must give full shout outs to Cindy at the front desk, Tim (for the one-day outstanding repair, oil change, and wheel alignment), and to Mr. M (a fellow customer) for his parts research since we have almost the same rare car (Hyundai Equus). We were each told (separately) by the dealer that it would cost $12k to repair the air suspension on each of our cars and that the work would not begin until January 2024 since they are booked solid! Enter: Pampered Auto Care to the rescue! Here, Cindy offered Mr. M's similar experience and observations. The solution? We each researched and bought our own parts after a $170 diagnosis. Pampered Auto Care pampered my car (and me!) so much that its one of those you would never believe this stories I regularly tell friends and family. They basically resurrected my car. Story in brief, I took a trip overseas and parked my car at a Cube Smart storage near the airport (AUS). Very bad idea, as it turned out, because security at that facility is so bad that someone tried to hot-wire my car. They failed but in the process, the cars electrical system was hosed. Car would not crank but not start. The electrical system had to be redone "from scratch" as it were. We are talking an "indefinite" number of hours, a blank check. So Amela -- God bless her -- offered me a deal, pay the technicians at a discount rate on condition that would work on my car only whenever they had some "free" time, (nothing else urgent was going on), or pay the regular rate to get my car "asap" but prepare a check of indefinite size -- since they really couldn't tell how long it was going to take. I took the discount rate offer. It took months. Maybe 5, or was it 6? It was so long I sometimes forgot about the car. But by golly, they got it done. On their own initiative, they scoured the internet for hard to find parts, got scammed a couple of times on shady car parts websites, but they persevered and got it done. Car runs beautifully. Here is the big take away -- I was treated like a person, a fellow human being who needed help, and was given help. Thank you Amela. I can't say enough good things about you as a person, your work ethic, and Pampered Autos. I'm no longer in Austin but if I were, Pampered would be my car place. I always have a great experience . The first time I came to Pampered Auto Care was in the afternoon of Christmas Eve after my old car decided to break down on me . I was already stressed because I had to make a trip to see family, and this repair shop gave me a brutal but honest information after inspecting my vehicle . They could have charged me to fix one of the many issues , but instead were straight up and transparent with me that the root cause of this issue stems from multiple things that could push this vehicle to being considered "totaled " . It's hard to find an auto repair shop that you can trust , let alone that is willing to be transparent with you instead of making $$$ off of you. I respected the honesty even though the news was not what I wanted to hear. Now I have a new vehicle and knew exactly the place I could trust . Couldn't have been any easier! I backed into a curb about a week or so ago and started to hear a clicking coming from the back of my car but couldn't see where it was coming from. I decided to wait it out to see if i noticed any difference. Finally, the broken piece for the back of my suspension (totally forgot what it was called) popped down. It didn't look awful but I knew it couldn't be good. I was driving down the street after work and Papered didn't look to crowded so I decided to stop by and see if they had any suggestions. One of the guys walked out, took a quick look and knew exactly what was wrong. Ordered the part (around 5pm) and told me to come back the next morning (on a Saturday). If I could give more stars I would!!! I drove in at 4:30 pm. They close at 5:00pm. My vehicle's alternator had just quit. They dropped everything, diagnosed the problem, ordered the new alternator, put the new alternator on and I was on my way by 5:45. I've never had a good experience in foreign cars outside of Toyota Honda Lexus Acura where we go to another place. So when my fiancé's BMW was overheating on the way back from Houston nervousness was an understatement. I called my normal Austin shop Grand Imports who recommended I use Pampered Auto Care based on recommendation from Japanese Motorworks. The recommendation was spot on!! It's very respectable to get a recommendation from another shop. They are the toughest critics! But to say their speed and care for us as people and not just customers was above care standard. They went above and beyond in providing a fair rate for water pump replacement and getting us back on the road the next day!!! Amela is awesome! My Porsche Panamera was overheating and leaking coolant like you wouldn't believe. The dealership price was right around $2700. UPDATED---today we were informed of a class action lawsuit related directly to our make/model of vehicle and the issues we were experiencing. In a nutshell we had been going to Pampered Auto Care for around 3-4 years. We brought the vehicle in for a repair and were quoted $1100. Once the vehicle was taken apart, the $1100 became a $2400 repair that resulted in disabling the vehicle. From there we were informed that it would require an additional $5000 (expensive MB part at factory cost plus labor) to repair the vehicle. The owner/mechanic informed us that the carbon build-up in that diesel was a known issue, and that basically we should have known. We are not mechanics. We had brought the vehicle to Pampered Auto Care trusting their expertise. As the owner/mechanic was aware that it was a known issue, had he explained the potential problems and related costs BEFORE doing any work this round, it would have given us the opportunity to make different decisions rather that feeling like we were being led down a financial rabbit hole. We ended up selling the vehicle at a loss. read more

Maybe I just went to them on the wrong day...(or week). First of all, the actual repair was top-notch and 5-star work. BUT, as with pretty much everything.... there was an extra "cost" with doing business here. The 'cost' of TRUST. These low-life degenerate pieces-of-$***, deciding to go fumbling thru my personal items. When I looked in the center console to get something out... it looked like Hurricane Harvey blew thru it. Then I opened the glove compartment to put my insurance card in it... same thing, complete disarray. So, on a hunch, I decided to look in the back of my car where the spare tire, first aid kit, etc is..... and yep, you guessed it, items flung everywhere. They had absolutely NO reason or excuse for violating my personal space. I'm surprised those Jack-Asses didn't drive to my apartment, use my key to get in, then ransack it too... after raiding the fridge. Customer Caution: if you leave your car here...be sure to remove all valuable and/or important personal belongings. Because apparently to them........... "what's yours is also there's". If i could give them no stars i would! no one needs to go through the things i went through!! Ive spent so much money in the past 6 months on parts and labor that turns out weren't even necessary. Poor quality of work, and when work was done, it wasnt done correctly. I drive a volvo, i came in there and when my car was diagnosed, they said i needed strut mounts, rack and pinion, and also my lower arm controls. this took about a week, they also never called me regarding the work or status of my car, they made fixes with out consulting me first. which up'd my price from being around 1800 dollars all the way up to 3,000. not even three days later my car starts acting weird, my power steering goes out. i go back, and the head mechanic admits his faults and fixes it. about a week later my car starts making a loud noise which was coming from the front of my car. Once again i take my car back in. he said that my strut mounts are having a part malfunction, but since they were under warranty, he would replace them, he did so. they STILL continued to make noise. he said yet again that it was my strut mounts and that they were still in warranty. I finally had enough. I took it to a volvo repair shop. They diagnosed my car. For starters you dont have to replace lower arm controls on a volvo, also the bolts that were on the lower arm controls weren't tightened wich were causing my tires to swerve and slide, which also ruined a brand new set of tires!. they had also told me that my strut mounts were installed upside down. i had the volvo repair shop fix everything for under 250. I havent had a problem with my car regarding those issues since then. When returning to pampered to ask them about the situation, no one wanted to own up to anything. the mechanic told me that the volvo repair shop was "wrong, and didnt use correct terminology". he also stated that i didnt know what i was talking about. the lady up front was very rude as well, when asked to speak with someone higher up than her, she gave me a snotty remark, and said she was the highest person in ranking, and that she would talk to someone regarding the issue. its been over a month now, im 3,000 dollars out and still have yet to come in contact with someone about the situation at hand. Great place. Emilia (sp?) is super friendly too. They do a good job of educating you on what they're planning to do, what your options are, and what makes the most sense. Example: Based on my service calendar, my O2 sensor was due to be replaced but since my car has about 60,000 miles less than what's normally predicted for how old my car is, they said save yourself some dough and do it once it's got a few more miles on it. Take your car here only if you want to shell out wads of cash to greedy people. The price quotes for repair are always on track with dealer pricing, often more! I recently had my vehicle here to check on an issue. They wanted $98 to diagnose the problem, then another $400 to fix the problem. Needles to say, the BMW dealership quoted me less on this repair. Took the car to BMW, all to find out that wasn't even the problem!! Good thing I didn't hand my hard earned cash over to Pampered Auto!!!! Another thing I didn't particularly appreciate, was that I had a coupon for $20 off of $100. I figured I would ask if I could use this coupon (especially since they didn't even do any repairs for me) The lady, Amela, said NO. My bill was over $100, and she still wouldn't accept this coupon. RIDICULOUS. Especially since the issue was MISDIAGNOSED!!!! I tried to speak to the owner of the shop, but I got the line "He is out of the country, and we don't know when he will be back." Additionally, the previous time I visited this establishment, this woman gave me a hard time about using a loaner car (even though they were going to be keeping my car for several days.) She was so difficult about it even though they advertise this loaner car to customers! At this time I had my power steering line replaced, but it ended up leaking after they replaced it anyways! DO NOT (I repeat) DO. NOT. Spend your money here. I came in earlier to fix a simple issue with my window because it wasn't rolling back up. I suspected that it would be the motor or the regulator but I did not have the time nor energy to do the work myself. Brought my car in (2000 Camaro Z28), had them go ahead and do a diagnostic for $98 which is steep for almost all auto shops i've been to in Austin. About and hour and a half later, they told me it was the motor and handed me a quote for almost $400 just to work on ONE window. Promptly went home, got a fellow car buddy, and went to work myself to check out the problem. Turns out it was just a wiring harness connection issue. So essentially, they lied to me (telling me it was something that it wasnt due to lack of attention to detail), charged me almost $100 to be of absolutely no use, and wanted to charge me $397 for an issue that didnt exist. My vehicle is finally fixed in 48 hours after taking the car to the dealer. Pampered asked me to provide them the invoice as they said Mercedes of Austin would not fix the vehicle. The total charge was $1275.75 and it is almost perfect. Pampered auto claimed on my invoice the part had previously been removed and some broken parts were there. Mercedes of Austin said it was caused by whomever just fixed the vehicle. This part will cost me more than $700 to replace which will be in my lawsuit. The total cost incurred for dealing with Pampered Auto Care is now a whopping $2605.02. Don't let this happen to you. read more
