(SCAM) the most disrespectful and argumentative owners ever , they notified me a visual diagnostic is a free service and then when I went to pick up car , they charged me 150$ for a diagnostic which was supposed to be free , they didn't make me (the customer ) notified of a 150 for additional diagnostic which was just a scam to make money off me , so if you feel like getting lied to and having a owner argue and yell at you , then this is the place to go. save your time and money and go to a trusted mechanic shop , ohh and update , drive home and check engine light flashed and guess the code ? yup lifters lol , which they said my car i fine , so paid 150 to get trash talked and degraded about my job . as you can see the owners response below . he did delete his rude comment but I screenshot it ,see

Honest staff very informative and helpful in making customers understand why and what they are paying for

They provide excellent information to the customer and not once have I ever heard them try to pressure or upsell someone. They tell you what the issue is, what your solutions are, and get it done right the first time. Even something as simple as an oil change is best done at Dave's-they give the vehicle a multi point look over and send you a picture filled analysis with information and recommendations. Luckily I've rarely needed repair work done, but friends I've sent there have and they've never had anything but praise for the experience. You might find a cheaper shop, but you'd be getting a cheaper experience. Dave's isn't charging top dollar but they're giving top of the line service.

I had an oil leak scare and they quickly fixed it and explained it to me as well as next steps. The second time I went, I called around 7AM and asked if they could fix a side mirror I knocked off really quick. They said yes. I bring it in & ask for a diagnostic. They return it to me with the mirror still broken telling me I'd have to spend around $3,000 and wait two weeks to get fixed. I asked if I could bring a cheaper used mirror I found & pay them for labor and they said no - making me think this was beyond easy repair. I took it home, and my boyfriend fixed it easily with no tools. Disappointing.

I recently took my 2001 Buick to The Oil Well for repairs to two of my automatic windows. From…read moreprevious replacements, I was expecting - no, make that "I was dreading" - the repair costs to be around $450/window. At least that was what I had been charged previously by another mechanic company who was not as gentle as the name of their company would indicate. Frantic for a way to save on the cost, I asked Carl if he could "stake shut" my windows or use cut-cost components. Thankfully, he explained to me that those were probably not the best solutions; used components would likely soon fail, and even to stake shut the windows would cost in labor more than I was hoping to spend. He asked if I could give him time to come up with a quote, and he called me back with a price that was - after tax and a State Inspection - less than half of what I had expected to pay for the work! Not only was the work done inexpensively, it was done well. Instead of the hobo hillbilly fix that I had initially suggested, I have functioning power windows, professionally maintained. The mechanic even gave me tips as to why the windows likely failed and how to keep it from happening in the future. Definitely will return.

Stopped by the oil well yesterday to have my car looked at before I sold it to another couple…read more After waiting for about 45 minutes for the guy to even start looking at the car (I had an appointment that he completely forgot about), he took about another 45 minutes to check it out. He comes in after looking at the car and proceeds to tell the couple who was going to buy my car that the vehicle has some serious issues. One of his major concerns? The wiper on the back window needed to be replaced. He also mentioned that there were problems with the brakes, shocks and that the car would shake uncontrollably when applying the brakes after getting it up to 60 MPH on the highway. The prospective buyer and I took it for a ride after his crazy rant and none of the issues happened that he described, especially the shaking. He also mentioned that the tires (which I had purchased 10 months beforehand) were dangerously low on tread. I smelled a scam from the start and took the car to a mechanic by my house right after I left the "Oil Well". The mechanic there looked it over for 20 minutes and told me he found no issues with the brakes or the tires. He said that the shocks MIGHT need to be replaced in 20 or 30k miles but that all shocks are worn and these were no worse than most cars. I had a feeling that the owner of the Oil Well was trying to come up with an expensive list of issues to get the potential buyers to spend $1500 to fix the car when it wasn't even needed. Thanks to the scam, I now know that there is nothing wrong with my car that you wouldn't normally see on an 8 year old vehicle. If you've ever worried about being ripped off by a mechanic, stay far
