I had such a great experience at Valvoline Instant Oil Change thanks to Edmundo and Benito. Both of them were incredibly attentive and thorough while checking my car. They not only completed my oil change quickly, but also took the time to inspect a few other things on my vehicle. Edmundo noticed that I needed a headlight replaced and new windshield wipers, and they helped take care of that during the visit. They were also thoughtful enough to offer coupons, which helped keep the cost reasonable when adding those items onto my oil change. When I went to ask about the rings, Benito mentioned it was actually his training day. It was really impressive to see Edmundo guiding him and setting him up for success, making sure everything was done correctly and that the service stayed efficient. Buyers beware!!! if you care about your vehicle, you will avoid this location like it is the plague. Back in April I came in to get an oil change and within 24 hours found out how incompetent the staff was there. My skid plate fell off of my car and got destroyed because the person who was working in the pit wasn't competent enough to secure it to the carwithin 10 hours of my visit and after driving for three hours, the front of the skid plate fell down and got destroyed. When I returned to the location of the following day, the assistant manager who is covering for another manager, told me that it was their error and we were going to fix it and get me a new skid plate. He also informed me that the person working in the pit. This was not his first transaction that multiple cars had returned because he failed to secure a skid plate properly and that there would be a coaching session in his future. Come to find out that management will look for any loophole whatsoever to get out of Repairing damages that they made to your car at all costs because they don't care. I've been a Valvoline customer for close to six years and given the work that I do I get oil changes every month for the past six years. I've been a loyal customer and to be treated in this manner is very disrespectful and I will never go to this location again. Also wanted to add that I don't understand why a business like this which is a service business failed to inform the customer that there was an issue with the skid plate at all. The employee in the pit should've notified his manager that he was having problems so that he can inform the customer. Just had my oil changed here, and it was great! No upsell pressure, everything was clearly explained and they let me know my air filter should probably be changed at the next oil change. I have come here before (always with a coupon, it isn't the cheapest place in town) and had fine experiences. Last week I showed up and they didn't have the oil my car takes (0W-16). The gentleman offered to call the nearby Gattis Rd location for me and see if they had it. He came back a couple minutes later and said they did have it. So I headed there. Got to the Gattis location, they're talking between themselves and I overhear them mention "you can just use 0W-20". I spoke up and asked if they had 0W-16, they said no. I mentioned the previous location's phone call, and they told me they didn't receive any phone call, and they definitely didn't have the right oil. But then they told me just this once it would be fine to use the wrong oil. True or not, they clearly weren't running this by me and didn't let me know until I eavesdropped and spoke up. I called the original location to ask who they called, the guy said "I'm at a call center, but I can forward this call to someone else for you to submit a formal complaint". Like come on. Valvoline Instant Oil Change 2710 S Interstate 35 Round Rock TX 78681 The short version: My wife went to Valvoline in Round Rock of i35 for an oil change, the Valvoline tech made a mistake, and a mile later our car had to be hauled away on a wrecker to be assessed and repaired as it is entirely inoperable due to poor workmanship from Valvoline technicians. Don't let this happen to you. Don't take your car here. You might have ten great oil changes. However, when they leave your car inoperable on oil change eleven, they will fail to take responsibility and leave you with a completely broken car. The full story: Last night, my wife got her oil changed at this Valvoline store. afterwards, when she was blocks from our house, which is a single mile from the Valvoline location, the car began to lightly smoke. She parked the car immediately. I checked the car when I got home late, and oil was left side of the engine bay., and the serpentine belt was off the pulleys and INTACT. First thing in the morning, I went to the Valvoline location and told them what had happened. The store manager sent employee "John" to our house specifically to evaluate the issue. Upon arriving, he opened the hood, checked oil filter and immediately said one of his employees did not properly tighten down the oil filter, leading to significant oil leakage. He checked the oil, added maybe 3/4s of a qt, and also took the filter with him when he left. He did attempt to say that the car "had not lost enough oil to cause the serpentine belt to slip maybe a half of a quart or so", however I disagreed, there was half of a quart of oil under the car on the ground alone, never mind in the engine bay, and the belt is saturated in oil, INTACT, and off the pulley. The store manager informed me they would not cover repairs because the serpentine belt "was faulty". The serpentine belt was OK, as noted verbatim in the 18 point inspection ONE MILE EARLIER. This is a very clear case in which the filter was not properly tightened, which lead to pressurized oil spraying onto the serpentine belt, which lead to the serpentine belt jumping the pulleys. I was not offered a refund on the oil change. I was denied contact information for the area manager. The store manager would not take my card and have the area manager contact me. Valvoline, and specifically the area manager: I have the intact serpentine belt. I have the 18 point inspection from YOUR technicians immediately before the incident. I have the admission from your technician that the oil filter was not properly tightened leading to this issue. I have the odometer at the time of service and the time stamped photo of the odometer this morning that is only one mile higher. I have time stamped photos of the car from where it stopped, and before and after the technician handled it. The car is now at a Volkswagen dealer where a Volkswagen certified technician is going to investigate and corroborate the mechanics of what happened. One of your own employees told me this morning that you have a new tech in training and was not surprised this had happened. I will be sending a sample of the the oil to Blackstone Oil Analysis to get a full forensic read out of any damage done to the engine as a result of the mistake your employees made. I am low maintenance. I would have accepted any effort to rectify the situation properly. Mistakes happen. However, not taking responsibility for those mistakes is completely unacceptable. I take being treated as if I am stupid personally. I take endangering my wife far more seriously than my own feelings. I am very active in the Austin/Round Rock car community. I am going to make it my personal mission to make sure that no has this same experience, and I have the resources to follow through. It will be my hobby to make sure this doesn't happen again. The store manager looked straight at me and said he didn't know what the condition of the serpentine belt was, even though the store had a data logged 18 point inspection of the exact condition of the car at virtually the same odometer reading. Going on several days of trying to get an inspection, they advertise inspections 5 days of the week according to their hours. I guess that does not mean anything the inspector is there when he pleases, or will tell you the machine they use to do inspections is not working because he does not feel like working. Also brought in a vehicle to this location awhile back and was asked to buy little Cesar's pizza in order to pass my inspection, telling me something was not going to pass when I brought it to another location it passed just fine. Calling ahead to see if everythings working fine and if the inspector is even on duty. To be told yes and lied to just to waste my time, money and gas going to this location. Claim their fully synthetic oil is only good for 5000 miles - makes you wonder why you're paying such a premium then. Only to be approached a few minutes later and asked "what you need?", told that I came in the wrong way, and explained how to reverse my car and drive it straight into a bay. My husband took his 2020 Dodge Ram to get an oil change done. When he got home after about an hour he noticed oil on the ground. Once he looked under the truck oil was all over under the truck. He called the service center and was told he would get a call back Sunday morning. We never got a call back, had to call them instead. They wanted us to take the truck back to have clean, which is fine. After spending over $180 the only thing they are will to do is give us a free car wash. WOW what an upset!!!! Took my car here for an oil change on 3/24 and they upsold me on a radiator flush. After the radiator flush my car started running hot so I took it back to them and the guy said my radiator now had a leak in it (which it did not have before) and it was a "coincidence." Before the service, my car never ran hot nor have I ever had any major issues with it. I asked for my money back for the service in which the service manager Adrian agreed to but my car is still damaged and I'm out of thousands of dollars so I spoke with Adrian again today and he said they will not do anything because their machine didn't mess up my car. So he's disputing what a certified mechanic told me about my car. I will leave a bad review on every possible website, social media, or wherever else until I speak with someone who's willing to hold themselves accountable for what has happened to my car. read more

On 8/19/22 I had my daughter take my 2020 Honda CRV in for an oil change. To change the oil the under shield must be removed. On 8/31/22 my daughter was driving north in IH 35 at 65mph when the under shield detached itself from the car. No road hazards were hit, it just detached because it was not proper,y reattached at the time of the oil change. I called and spoke to the assistant manager because the manager was out and was told he would review the video and for me to call the manager the following day which I did. The following day I spoke with the manager who told me to call customer care and was told that as soon as he got the email from customer care he would order the part and repair my car. The following day I received a conference call from customer care and the manager who decided to deny my claim. He said the video showed no fault in the part of his employees. That they had tugged on the under shield and it remained in place. I told them that was fine I would turn in a comprehensive claim to my insurance and let them deal with them because I disagreed with them. When it was removed from my car all but one screw was missing and both front pins were still in place, indicating it was not properly reattached to the under carriage of my car. The body shop and my insurance adjuster agree that Valvoline was negligent in reattaching it to my vehicle. Fortunately no one was hurt and there was no additional damage to my car but the outcome could have been much worse. Please don't use this shop. read more

I brought my Honda civic in for an oil change and a state inspection. A day after having this service done, the under shield of my car completely detached from under my car and was scraping against the highway. Upon removal of the plate, we realized it was shredded and there were only two screws holding it on. Since this plate is a a part that has to be removed to change the oil, we figured it is NOT a coincidence that within 24 hours of having my oil changed at a new place, this part was damaged. We reached out to the shop to see if there was anything we could get figured out and the manager was completely dismissive, defensive, and unhelpful during the whole interaction. We were told to reach out to corporate and the regional manager but they refused to give us any contact information for them. After reaching out, we were told that there was no evidence that the part falling off was because of the shop. They stated they could prove the part was securely attached upon leaving given it was missing screws. The shop reviews video and confirmed there were only two screws holding it in place upon entering the shop. Understandable, but no one ever informed us of this. If this is accurate, then up until receiving an oil change there had been no problem with the shield detaching while on the road being held on by the screws. The shield was incorrectly put back on the vehicle. Had we known the part was in danger of falling off we would have obviously done something to fix it. But no one at the site notified us or cared to explain. So within 24 hours of the oil change, the car part comes off. Corporate decided to deny the claim based on the fact that the shop says they did nothing wrong. Overall the customer service was disappointing. We were not expected the shop to compensate us for the part or repair it, just simply explain and acknowledge fault in the situation. Instead, the employees we spoke with were argumentative and disrespectful. It's sad that we experienced this and I wish we could have continued to go here since it would be convenient. However, I now understand this is not a trustworthy shop. Upon further research, we noticed a pattern of reviews with almost the exact same experiences and no help being given.
