I wish I had took the time to look through the reviews before bringing my dog here for the nails trimmed. Please, do yourself a favor and read some of the allegations against this place, especially the ones about the dogs being drugged with sedatives. I brought my dog in this morning for a quick nail trimming. I immediately sensed something was off, but figured my dog will be in full view of me and it was just a nail trimming. The owner made very little small talk and seemed like something is off. He did not come across as a nice man or a person I'd trust with my animals. He also constantly screamed at the other dogs that were there. The place left me with a very bad, ominous feeling. The proprietors at Pampered Pet seem to think they can modify your instructions without speaking to you first. I brought a Himalayan cat in for a lower area grooming. Chest, belly and rear end. Told the woman specifically to leave the back and sides long. She wrote down the instructions. I come back to pick up the cat and his entire body is shaved. She modified my directions without calling me first. When asked why, she just stood there, dumbfounded I should question her actions. Not her cat, not her decision. read more

My wife and I took our golden doodle to this groomer, 3 times in the past and today again. Each time my wife and I had extremely rude attitudes from the Male Owner who grooms dogs. First of all, they use a piece of rope to take your dogs inside. when the dog resists, the rope gets tighter and can even choke the dog. Today my dog was scared by rope and jumped on their bench and I was extremely warned by this Male Owner stating that if the dog breaks her legs on this bench he is not responsible. The wooden bench has gaps between and I told him it is dangerous for the dog's legs and to replace the bench, because dogs get scared and jump on it. He even became ruder and told me that that's not for dogs and take off my dog immediately did not even give me a chance to move the dog. Overall, I would never recommend this place, and using a choke rope is a safety issue. read more

Biggest mistake I have ever made was taking my dogs to this place. I got a bad feeling the moment i walked in and every thing was rushed and they hastily grabbed them. From the minute i got them back i knew something was very wrong. Especially my Frenchie... He's been extremely uncomfortable and bleeding from his rectum now and been on pain meds for 2 weeks. Advise everyone to STAY AWAY 10:30am I brought my 4 year old Mini Goldendoodle in to be cleaned up and when I got there spoke to Joe, the owner, whom I gave quite simple instructions to specifically not shave him down and leave his head fluffy. 12:00pm I got a call my dog was ready so I came to pick him up. When I arrived they bring out a black Shitzu (a completely different dog??) I then had to go to the back area to point out to the owner which one was my dog ..do I have to even mention how unorganized and unprofessional that is? The poor receptionist girl was getting yelled at by the owner Joe the entire time and she apologized to me for the mistake and told me she would give me a call back when my dog was actually ready. 2:20pm I came to pick my dog up. My poor boy :( The most unprofessional haircut I have ever seen done to a dog. I don't even know what they did to him, but it looks like someone just went crazy with a shaver and razors. Its all uneven, he's cut as if he's a lab. We could barely recognize him. He looks like he's sick. They cut his whiskers and eyelashes off, and shaved 1/3 of his tail for what reason I cannot understand. When my mother asked the owner why he shaved the dog after I specifically asked to keep him long, seeing we were visibly upset, the owner Joe laughed and responded "You can't blame me for anything right now honestly because I gotta wear one of these things." referring to his mask- Still not sure how that affect's your vision or ability to cut hair Joe but ok. And then continuing on to say "It's a little mistake and It grows back" and then "GET THIS LADY AND HER DOG OUT OF HERE" to his employees because my dog was still locked up in their cages. This was such a traumatizing experience for my family as well as my dog. My dog has bald spots and cuts all over. He's not the fluffy golden doodle we brought there and I'm disgusted to know there's a business like this that exists in my area and people bring their defenseless animals to. An investigation needs to be opened as from the previous reviews it seems Joe has a history of abusing animals and taking advantage of customers for a while. read more

!!!!!!THEY BOTCHED MY FAMILY'S BERNEDOODLE!!!! Would give this place a 0 stars if I could. What they did to my poor baby is indescribable. My families bernedoodle is the happiest soul ever. He did not deserve what he got. He is super fluffy most of the time, and we brush him almost every day to eliminate knots. Last Tuesday, he came home from his haircut TRAUMATIZED. He was unevenly cut, with multiple scabs (one of which is pictured below). His genital area was not taken care of properly: some areas were completely bare, while some were still very fluffy. In addition, the hairs at the top of his head were uneven (also pictured below). I have also attached numerous photos of different bald spots that my dog received. The other day, we went in the car and took our bernedoodle, named Chase, with us. Chase is exceptionally behaved in the car. This was his first time in the car since the haircut, and he was shaking. We concluded that he thought we were taking him back to the Pampered Pets Establishment, and we calmed him down. Once we returned back to our house, he was fine again. So, in conclusion, if you want your dog to have PTSD, anxiety, and be traumatized for a week, then this is the place to take your dog! Butcher shop please don't ever bring your dog here it was my worst traumatizing experience for my dog and my family. I dropped off my golden doodle asked them to please give him a little trim and leave his head fluffy . They shaved my dog completed bare including his eyelashes and whiskers to the point that he was unrecognizable. My daughter wasn't even sure it was our dog and was crying at the site of him . My family has been taking our dogs to Pampered Pet Salon for almost a decade. all four of our dogs feel right at home. Our originally groomer caused one of our dogs so much anxiety and stress that it took her forever to calm down when she got home. At Pampered Pet Salon, they all run into the back willingly without a second glance towards us. When we return to pick them up, they are always waiting for us calmly. What a difference! only groomer i've been to in over ten years. husband and wife run the place, we love and trust the both of them. the owners are a sweet dog loving couple from upstate, humble friendly and funny. neither of my dogs ever had a bad experience here and you have to be careful with grooming bc dogs are so sensitive i've heard ppl's dogs become traumatized from a bad grooming experience. only good experiences here consistently. we had one dog (lhasa) for 18 years who passed in 2013. from 2006 til his last cut we took him to pampered pets. his name was fluffy. they always made him look like a young sweet furry puppy. in fact when i picked him up he would look like a doggy model. in 2017 i was blessed w another dog named shaggy, as soon as i got him i took him to pampered pets, third day having him. his hair was knotted and wild as he was abandoned in harsh conditions. they took him in without appt and fixed him up, gave him a perfect trim and got all knots out made him look like a new dog. after a hike upstate he got burrs stuck in his entire body that could not be combed out. somehow they got every single one out. they are so good at what they do and incredibly sweet. my vet wants shaggy on a medicated shampoo, so when i bring him for a cut i bring the shampoo and they always use that one. they are precise, punctual, finish right when they tell you they will, fairly priced, and both my dogs have always gone in happy and left happy. theyve never been nervous or left upset. pampered pets gets a lot of dogs everytime i come and all the dogs ive seen have always been happy and wagging their tails. i read thru some of the negative reviews and sounds like they're coming from mostly from nasty and obnoxious upper middle class roslyn ppl who have snobby and obnoxious dogs themselves. i have never seen a bad experience in the dozens of times i have been here. definitely try them out and your dog will look like a tv dog! uploading photos BTW THEY MOVED FROM WAGNER AVE TO WILLIS AVE read more

I didn't make a big deal out of it and gave it another try last week. My mother and sister went to go pick her up and he walks out of the room asking if they understand English... (RUDE) my mother said yes and he said "well don't worry but I cut your dogs tongue a litte white trimming her face" THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG!! My dog was depressed for a week and her tongue was bleeding 2 days later! I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG BACK ESPECIALLY WITH THE OWNERS HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. read more

She had cuts and razor burns around her private area and her hair cut was choppy and uneven. The poor dog was sore for weeks afterwards, that she kept licking the cuts and razor burns. I should of sued the son of a bitch for what he did to my dog. No dog should be treated the way he did mine. By the way, I don't jump from groomer to groomer. I brought my two dogs there to get groomed and the owner is not a nice person . My dog died there in his care. He never called me to tell me that my dog wasn't doing well during a regular grooming . Bye the time I called the shop and arrived my dog had passed away. Princess was playful and she was doing fine before bringing her here . I know for a fact as I seen him yell at his employees in front of me that I had a bad feeling . I truly believe he yelled and probably did more to her as she may have been a little nervous. I had the best grooming experience ever for my 11 year old Goldendoodle. He was handled carefully and the owners listened with interest as I described what he was like and what I'd like him to look like. They have never kept him more than 2 hours so I know he's not languishing in a cage. He wasn't shaved, as previous groomers had done, but had a cute cute when he emerged from the back. Please, if you are reading this and you have an animal that needs to be groomed, I beg of you do NOT take them to this 'salon'. When I was away in college, my parents (unbeknownst to me) were bringing our beloved Peekapoo to this groomer. They figured since it was very close by and cheaper than the local Petco, it was a good choice. When I heard what had been going on there I was absolutely horrified and wanted to go in there and spit in the owners face. To give some background, my parents are not the type of dog owners that are overly attentive and rarely pick up on any subtle behaviors or hints that our dog could be displaying. If I were home, our dog would never have gone back to that place a second time, let alone several more. They told me at first when they would pick our dog up, she would be rather lethargic and "out of it" and not herself. When I got home and found this out, coincidently it was only a day or two after they took her there, so i immediately took her to the vet to find out what was going on. Like I said, I knew that if even my parents noticed something was off about our dog, that it meant it had to be serious. Turns out, the tests the vet took came back with high levels of sedative in her system. She was literally out of it for 4-5 days that time alone that I saw, so it pains me to even think of what went on when I wasn't home. Please, do not take your animal here, I cannot stress this enough. read more
