This is a black owned dentist in the Camp Creek area. They are very professional and knowledgeable. They explain everything to you in common language so that you understand what's going on. Service has been prompt at most appointments. My appointment was at 2pm today and I was in the back by 2:05. Front staff and dental assistant(s) . . . never an issue. However, based on multiple encounters with the dentist (not sure if I have dealt with Dr. Murray, but the deal breaker for me is Dr. Alexander.) I have come away with a very "corporate America" impression of the practice: rushing through procedure (+aggressive drilling--I have experienced the exact opposite more recently at another practice--proof that I wasn't imagining the aggression); procedure -pushing ("What are you waiting on to get [XYZ]" as opposed to asking IF I was interested in the procedure and why it would benefit me); and being non-informative (Dr. Alexander referred me to a specialist but did not exactly inform me WHY--rather than empowering me with information, I asked all the questions, and getting answers were like pulling teeth.) The lack of information may very well be due to the fact that a specialist was required for the very dental area Dr. Alexander worked on weeks prior (get where I'm coming from?) Lastly, upon being given the referral slip to an endodontic specialist of Dr. Alexander's /PS's choice--who BTW could not get me in for over SIX WEEKS--I was NOT told at that time that I could take that referral to an endodontic specialist of my choice if their specialist choice couldn't see me in a timely matter. It was only after the long wait when I, using wisdom, decided to seek out another specialist ON MY OWN and asked PS for referral slip for the specialist of my choice that I was told I could have used the original slip elsewhere. The endodontic specialist I chose got me in the SAME DAY I called. I NEVER would have voluntarily, patiently waited six weeks if I'd known that I didn't have to use their choice. I waited SIX WEEKS in my condition only because PS didn't inform me of my options up front. From henceforth, Pampered Smiles Camp Creek will be in my rear-view mirror. Like, bye. Adios. I relocated from Miami back in 2017 so I was trying different locations to give me that same feeling of my prior dentist. Basically, I was looking for great quality of work, professionalism, and a friendly atmosphere. I came across this location through my insurance and I'm glad that I did. I wanted to give this place a good review, but I cannot do that with good conscious. I went in for my 6-month cleaning and let them know I had all the info from my previous dentist available since I just moved here from out of state. They declined to review it so when they proceeded with x-rays and the recommendation of a deep cleaning, they were not aware I had already had deep cleaning within 2 years. The person who called my insurance to get the quotes for their recommended work did not check to see if the perio work would be covered, and I was going off of the quote sheet given (which had a signature that says the amounts are only estimates). After being at the office for over an hour, I was initially told I'd have to come back in to have ANY of the work done, but I expressed concern because I had taken off work and was under the impression some cleaning would be done, so they squeezed me in for half of the cleaning. I paid my co-pay and was on my way. The following appointment I was given a room in the back that was very rundown and the water in the sink didn't work. At the end of the cleaning, something went wrong with one of the equipment pieces which created a puddle on the floor. I was also told that I had to come back in 4 months for follow-up cleaning of sorts which I've never heard about when I've had deep cleanings in the past. Apparently their office requires it and they would not schedule me for my regular 6 months - it had to be 4 months which my insurance would not cover. I knew at that point I would not be coming back, but there's more. A couple of months later, I received a bill that had a "balance forward" amount which did not explain what that charge was. A week later I received a duplicated bill...or at least I think it was a duplicate. When I called to get someone to explain this as I had paid everything during my 2 visits, it seemed to be a call center that took down my information and said someone would reach out. I asked when I could expect someone to call me back and the lady told me she didn't know, with an attitude. It's been over a month and I have not heard anything from anyone. I will report them before I pay anything because nothing has been explained. I have never experienced anything like this with any of my other dentists in the past. They have all been thorough in billing and cost, and I've never received a bill I wasn't expecting so I don't know what is going on with this place. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because all of the hygienists and the dentist himself were very nice, but that does not excuse anything. I don't recommend coming here. read more

Do not go to them. Very unprofessional and you can not trust them. Do not trust them. I went in for pain on June 2, 2021 and they referred me out to Symrna Oral. I had my surgery on June 11, 2021. They marked the wrong teeth on the sheet and I spent over $3,000. I am sure that Pampered Smiles got a cut of the money. It's a month later July 15, 2021 and I had to go back to Pampered Smiles to get another referral because they didn't mark the right teeth the 1st time for my surgery. Now I am in pain again, about to have the same surgery again month later. I plan to sue them. ***It's sad that we can't trust a black owned company. read more

Shame on me for not going to the dentist until i was in serious need. Ended up needing a root canal and was terrified of the procedure. My hygienist Shelia was amazing at talking me through the procedure and during the deep cleaning. Sometimes all we need is communication. When it came time for the procedure Dr. Murray really took good care of. Got my anxiety in check, made me comfortable the entire time. Great bedside manner. As sore as i am today I'm still excited to go back to have more work done in the near future. Thank you guys at Pampered Smiles. read more

They tried to cancel my appointment because I didn't confirm my appointment the day before which I explained to staff you all had already called me a week or so before & I confirmed. I was not able to confirm my appointment again unfortunately because I was in a car accident & my phone was damaged. Which was explained & proof. I was also here 30 mins before my appointment. They tell me they double booked my appointment. They stated to come back next day or Friday. No. I have a job just like you do. I took off for this appointment (which again was already confirmed). Then they try to say come back around 1. No, I do not have gas to be just riding up and down the expressway. I have been coming to this location for years BEFORE the new renovation. I am very much disappointed in the service I have received! Especially considering every time I have an appointment with them MY appointment ALWAYS is pushed back due to them "working someone in" .. Throw away the whole front staff except for Maria and one other person. I don't know her name but I know her face. The staff in the front barely answer the phone. I just called them at 5:44pm. They don't close until 6pm; no answer. The main thing I get irritated about is the wait. I have came as early as 7:30am and was seen two hours later than my appointment. The dental hygienist is so sweet, very thorough, informative and I trust her with my teeth. The dentist is kind of in and out so I can't really comment on him but he seems nice. Beware...I was uneasy when I went to this practice as I realized there was difference of staff from one to another. I did not want to be tasked trying to figure out who was the best, I figured that I would just gracefully bow out and find another dentist practice. The last time I was in the office was 11/2018. Fast forward in 3/ 2022, I am receiving a bill that was apparently from when the insurance company did not pay. The young lady was very clear to remind me that I signed documents that made me responsible for any bill that was not covered by my insurance company. Although I understand being responsible for a bill however, this should have been sent when they realized the bill was in the arrears. If you go here, please check in on your billing to ensure that you do not receive a bill nearly 5 years later. I will research this bill with my insurance company after I am sent the breakdown to find out why this was not paid on my behalf. I am so disappointed in this business. read more

I've recently moved back to the Atlanta metro area and was looking for a dentist to visit. Pampered Smiles is literally 10 minutes away, so decided to give them a visit. AWESOME dental staff! My visit was quick, painless (after examining, my teeth only required a routine cleaning) and relaxing. The waiting area is nice and clean. The hygienist seeing me was very nice and sociable! My experience today was horrible. The dentist Dr. McCullough was rude and very unprofessional. On top of that the dental assistant advised him that the chair I was in was broken. The dentist responded with and I quote " You get what you pay for". That was a totally inappropriate response. I will definitely not go back there. So I arrived to the office at 4:09pm with a horrible toothache. The office advertises that they are open MONDAY through FRIDAY until 6pm. I left work early to get there in enough time to be seen. The door was locked and the staffer came to the door and indicated that the office is closed. Even after I told her that I had pain, she told me to come back tomorrow morning, she's doing paperwork. This amounts to false advertising, and is really bad customer service. I am appalled that they would turn away a potential customer that is in pain at 4 in the afternoon on Friday. Doesn't speak well for community relations either. After all, I am a resident of the Princeton Lakes community just around the corner. So, that being said, I'm going to take some Tylenol and come back in the morning. If I should die before I awake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. I'm in too much pain to be driving around looking for another dentist at this point. Yet another reason to be disappointed in the service provided in the neighborhood I live in. read more

I went to this place about a couple of weeks ago and I assure you that there is nothing PAMPERED about this place. Their staff are nice but very unprofessional. When I walked in they were talking about their baby daddies drama. The assistant ask what was my reason for being there and I said because I wanted a cleaning and I was having issue with my jaw. She told me that she wanted me to do a pan X-ray. When we tried to do it,she stated that the machine did not work. Lol Then when my dentist came I was kind of shock because it wasn't the dentist I requested. Anyway she proceeded to look at my teeth, told me I had a cavity but that she could not work on my teeth until I saw an oral surgeon about my TMJ. She referred me to an oral surgeon and then I left. I was disappointed in the service I received but was happy that I was referred to an oral surgeon that could help me with my TMJ. As soon as I got to my car, I called the Oral Surgeon they told me that they don't do work on patience with TMJ and that they have ask Pampered Smiled to stop referring patients to them that have it but they continue to do so. The oral surgeon assistant even told me she spoke to them that same day I called. So I don't understand why they referred me to them when they knew they didn't except patience with TMJ. Lastly just when I didn't think it could get any worse, I looked in the mirror and saw that my front teeth were slightly chipped. It's not that noticeable but I notice it and this happened thanks to their broken pan x-ray machine. My experience was horrible and a waste of time. read more

Had the worst experience here. Not to mention that was not my visit. Wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. The dentist Dr.Alexander has zero bed side manners and really could careless about his patients. The amount of time he spends in the room to find out what your issues are amounts to the same amount of time it takes for you to check in. I received more information from Toni his assistant than him. Dr. Alexander....being a dentist means that you should know that you have to be a people person.
