This small mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant is a hidden gem if you're looking for fresh food and friendly service. The dining area is modest, with around 10 tables, but it's clean, comfortable, and has a welcoming neighborhood feel. The young man who took our order was polite, patient, and very attentive, checking in to make sure everything was going well without being intrusive. The food was prepared fresh and had great flavor. Everything tasted hot and well-seasoned, not greasy, and clearly made with care. Portion sizes were decent and filling, especially considering the very reasonable prices. Some of the entrees include your choice of egg flower or hot and sour soup. They even have a small lunch special menu that includes an appetizer, an entree, and white rice or pork fried rice. You definitely get good value for what you pay here. We tried the salmon puffs and they were so delicious! Will definitely be back again for those! Had a lunch date with my good friend and we decided to try out this restaurant my neighbor was raving about.....I do have to say, it did not disappoint! The service was immediate and attentive and we asked for recommendations which we loved. The pong pong chicken is really crispy and tasty (not too sweet), but a delightful umami flavor to your classic orange chicken. My friend got that and the fried rice with the crab puff appetizer - lunch specials were only $12! They also included a bowl of soup. I got the Singaporean rice noodle and it was really tasty - I heard the wok used in the kitchen from our table and you can definitely taste it. Lots of high reviews. Maybe for full meals but not all that for lunch. General Tso special came with soup, two spring rolls, fried rice (extra charge) and the entree. The dipping sauce for the spring rolls tasted strange. Very tomato. They didn't seem handmade either like some of the competition. Wow!! I was very surprised when my daughter brought this home for us. Didn't expect it to be so good. The chicken is perfectly crispy even with the sauce. We got the pong pong wings and the crispy garlic wings, the crispy garlic lunch special with pork fried rice and butterfly shrimp, and we did an order of salmon puffs and pot stickers. Everything was fabulous! The chicken was definitely the star. So flavorful, however it is the crispyness that was so dang good!!! The pong pong chicken is like an explosion in your mouth!! After reading the good reviews on Corner of Tastes, we decided to give it a try. Apparently it has been in operation since 2022 and we didn't know it existed. Except for someone coming in for a togo order, we were the only ones in the restaurant at lunchtime. We tried the lunch menu for $13.00. There are a lot of options. It includes egg drop or hot and sour soup, an appetizer, entree and fried or regular rice. Our entrees were pong pong chicken and garlic chicken. I had the crab puffs and my husband had the barbecue pork. We both had fried rice. Both the pong pong and the garlic chicken were very good. The only minor criticism might be the chicken was a tad overdone. The barbecue pork was moist and the crab puffs were good. We ordered pong pong chicken, pork fried rice, and crab puffs. The crab puffs tasted mostly just like cream cheese. There wasn't much of a crab taste at all. This was fantastic. I have a very sensitive stomach and can't take greasy or much fried food. Everything we ordered was perfect, extremely fresh and wonderfully seasoned but not greasy. The wonton soup was full of veggies and meat, the basil fried rice with pork was light and fluffy, and the broccoli chicken had the highest quality of meat and was so juicy and perfectly cooked. Support your family run business when you can. I think every item on the menu is really good. The place was pretty packed. It's really clean and new as well. We ordered the won ton soup, pong pong chicken and pineapple fried rice. We also ordered a pot of green tea. The pineapple fried rice was delicious and very savory. It had cashews, pineapple and raisins. It appeared to be cooked with saffron. Super flavorful and hot arriving to the table. The ping pong chicken was nice and crispy and tender. Pleasant environment and great service but the Cantonese-style Chinese food was too sweet for me. Szechuan chicken had a nice thin breading but tasted like orange chicken. None of the Above - its just Sichuan Princess Chicken Actually I have never heard of it and had to look it up and Pong Pong Chicken is a real dish, albeit, not very well known. Peng Peng Chicken is also a real dish but not what is served here. So why make Pong Pong your signature dish along with a Chinese version of nachos (Chinachos) which actually more of a Frito Pie (Chinito Pie?)... because it tastes good!!! LOL Ok the Pong Pong is dong dong good. The salt and pepper squid was great or over battered depending on the piece of squid. Hey it's a new place. Shake dat batter off before chuckin in da frier. LOL Just saying. It's a nice venue with a nice staff person and they are applying for a beer and wine permit. I came for the second time. Definitely add a great experience. Today I had the Kung Pao chicken . It was very tasty and fresh. Lots of White meat chicken with plenty of fresh veg. My favorite zucchini:) The lunch special is $12. It comes with soup, choice of appetizer, and entree with rice. Very generous portions. We also tried the Arepa. A corn bun, stuffed with roasted pork, fresh avocado, some cheese something different and really tasty. You get two of them The service is really good. This is a small place in a strip mall. My partner and I went in here for a late lunch. I started off with the egg drop soup and he had the hot and sour. It was a chilly, rainy day and the soups were hot and fresh. I loved the egg drop personally. We ordered spring rolls and the pot stickers for appetizers. The SAUCE with the pot stickers were amazing. I wasn't crazy about the texture of the potstickers (they were just okay to me) but that sauce...WOW. I could have eaten that on anything. And the spring rolls were delicious. Crispy on the outside, freshly fried, well filled...I was very pleasantly surprised. I love fusion food. I grew up in Texas, where Cajun/Chinese and Tex/Mex and all sorts of blends exist...so to see Chinese/Mexican was not something I had seen before...so I had to try to the Chinachos. I had to. When they came out, I have to admit, I don't know what I was expecting? It reminded me of a Texas style Frito Chili pie, but without chili. It was this stir fried meat and veg over fritos, with cheese...and it was really good. Like, I don't know if I'd order it again, but I really liked it and I couldn't stop eating it! My partner got the kung pao chicken with rice and loved them. He was full from the soup and appetizers, so had plenty to take home. Togo tip: order from website it's cheaper! I order here and go here often. It's a favorite in my house. The staff are a sweet family that I tried to out thank but he was the kindest and won. Nothing too exciting about the inside except the food and service. It's always clean too! Oh and they offered us soup while we waited no charge which was delish. I've tried almost everything and nothing disappoints. Favorites are ping pong chicken, garlic chicken, salmon puffs, crab puffs and I just can't pick it's all so good. Our second visit to for lunch for this wonderful Chinese and fusion Asian cuisine. Corner of Tastes is located in Union Station next door to the PeachHealth Clinic close to the Camas Costco. The dining area very clean, bright, and welcoming. Our second lunch here tasted even better than the first one! This time my husband and I ordered pong pong chicken and the stir fried vegetables with tofu, so we could share the veggies and the chicken. The pong pong chicken is the house specialty and we were impressed! Go try this cuisine no matter what you order off of their menu. Their service is excellent. Their food is awesome--so well prepared, delicious and seasoned perfectly. Be sure to try the hot and sour soup. It is best we have ever tasted. You will find spaghetti and fettuccine noodles with the chow and lo mein. There's also come Mexican fusion. Intriguing combinations that lure me to try more. Order the half and half puffs. The flat ones are krab and the x shapes are salmon. It's a different consistency then most other puffs. These are creamier and are mixed well before being fried The meal comes with a soup. Picked the egg flower. Tastes good. Not salty or bland. Has tofu chunks. We ordered the pong pong chicken and the broccoli chicken Pong pong chicken- came out hot and smells delicious. The salad is a nice touch. Has a nice vinaigrette on it. Not sour or overbearing. The chicken it crispy and cooked well not dry at all. I was thinking it was going to be soft and doughy. Not that spicy has a hint but nothing most people can't handle. Not greasy or leaking grease. Broccoli chicken- looks very appetizing. Chicken is tender. Came out nice and hot. The veggies are fresh and cooked well, not mushy or hard. Flavor wise, garlic is the main flavor with complimentary spices. Not salty or spicy. Pork fried rice- pretty typical. Has a little more flavor than steamed rice but nothing that stands out. Also not oily as most places. Overall I am satisfied to have tried this place and will return. There's plenty of Asian and Mexican places in town, but to have finally found a good tasting fusion place is awesome. I highly recommend this place and will be returning to try more of the menu. Upfront, I have to say this is a mixed review. This little eatery, tucked away off 192nd, is clean and welcoming. The young man at the desk could not be more charming, helpful, and friendly. I ordered two glazed chicken dishes and some crispy spring rolls. The aromas wafting from the kitchen were so amazing. The dishes are cooked to order, so you may have to wait a bit...no bigee. Unfortunately, there were some missteps. All the chicken was either tough or over cooked although the coatings and flavors were tasty. The pork fried rice (side dish) was basically white rice with small bits of pork and no veg. The most disappointing were the spring rolls that we nice and crispy on the outside, but pasty with little filling on the inside. The dipping sauce, normally a sweet sauce, was strangely ketchupy. The salad was three or four large leaves with pickled cucumbers...no dressing that I could find. Portions are ample. Prices are comparable to similar eateries. I was so hopeful for this eatery, because it is close by, but may give it another try with different dishes. read more
