Today was the first time I ever CRIED after getting my brows threaded. They look horrible-- they are too short, too thick, the shape is essentially nonexistent, and, unless I'm tilting my head to the side all the time, completely uneven. After she finished, I said "wow, you did that really quickly!" Now I know why. Immediately after seeing my brows, my friends and family started offering tips to fix them (eyebrow pencil, finding another salon to redo them, etc) rather than compliments. My roommate literally said, "Umm.. at least you're not missing an eyebrow?" Perhaps even worse, she snapped my skin with her thread so I walked out of there with two tissues covered in blood. Her apology was half-hearted and lackadaisical (and no, she did not give me a discount of any kind); in fact, she blamed ME because my "skin is tight,"... whatever that means. I leave for a vacation tomorrow, and I cannot stop crying. Before I left, she tried to give me a lecture about how I should make an appointment before coming. She said she takes walk-ins but would still like to know if someone is on their way (there was only one other person in the salon and I arrived about an hour before closing. I think she wanted to know if she could sneak out early). OK, I would like to know if someone is going to butcher my face and charge me for it. This place is cheap and they do a good job. I've been going for years. However, I'm pretty tired of them being closed during the times they're supposed to be open. Probably 1 out of every 3 times I try to go there on a Sunday during the 4 hours they're schedule says they're open, the sign says open but they're closed. My review is based on the experience of their appointment process. So about a week before June 3rd, I sent an email regarding setting up an appointment. This is because I was told on a drop in visit that for wax I had to make an appointment which was Sunday only. She still took me in and I tipped because I felt bad a client walked away (not sure if client came back for her eyebrows or not). So I said fine next time I'll do an appointment. Well let me tell you, either their appointment process sucks, or they suck. The 48 hours to wait for a response came and went by. Then another 48... then June the 11th came around. This place was great! The owner was very helpful, accommodating, and nice. While I was considering getting a tattoo, I wanted to try it out on a less permanent basis. I knew there were a bunch of henna places on the West Side, but being from the South Bay, I was pleasantly surprised to find Panache. I brought in my own unique design and asked the henna artist to put it on my back (where I plan to get my tattoo), she did it, and quickly too! It looked great and was a perfect test run for the tattoo I actually want! I saw a bunch of people come on and have their brows threaded while I was getting the henna done. I hate to leave one star since the owner seemed pleasant and the salon just opened up recently. I know it's hard to get build a client base, but she should probably start with improving her basic threading techniques and customer service skills. I'd been so busy that I haven't had time to get my eyebrows threaded in way too long, so when I found myself in Manhattan Beach with an hour to kill, I decided to not wait till I found time to go to my regular place in Studio City and searched Yelp for a nearby salon. My excitement to try a new place was bolstered upon meeting the owner who was quite friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, her pleasantness was the only positive part of my visit. She broke the thread several times - something I have never had happen while getting threaded - and hit me in the face every time the thread broke. She also chopped up my eyelid horribly with 7 or 8 little cuts, and then had the gall to blame me, claiming that I wasn't holding my eyelid tight enough. Are you serious? I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years at many different salons, and have NEVER been cut once. My skin is not super sensitive, and I could even understand if it was one cut, but it looks like she took a swipe with a cheese grater (photo uploaded as evidence). Today, a day later, the cuts still hurt and look absolutely ridiculous on my face. Additionally, I'm not impressed with the brow shape but didn't feel like having her fix it. Even if I did like the shape, I should be able to leave the salon looking ready for a photo shoot without needing to run home to cover up a bunch of cuts like a 13yearold trying to cover up zits. To top it all off, I told her that I only wanted my eyebrows done, yet she started threading my upper lip without asking and sure enough charged me for it too. At least other establishments have the courtesy to ask first. Oh yeah, she cut my lip too. Basically, she seemed like she was trying but in all the wrong ways. It was my first time getting threaded and I really liked the precision of the esthetician. It hurt a little more than getting waxed, like a rubber band snapping near your eyes.. but no hair removal is pain-free :-/ In a matter of minutes, the shape was perfect. I use to love this place for eyebrows. Quick service, clean, and professional. However, the owner cut back her hours and hired a new girl. This new girl twice has told me to come back because she had to wash someone else's hair (she's the only one working). Another time I came right at opening but she was late. Another time I came 10 minutes to closing and she told me she was no longer taking customers. All the other times I have been here have been great but they are not reliable....especially if you drive far. I was a regular customer but I might have to find another place. They do such a good job though. My suggestion for the owner is to have more than one employee if there's a hair appointment or to limit hair appointments on days where there's 2 people working. You'll be fine if you: 1. Don't come during opening 2. Don't come close to closing 3. Hope you don't come when she's cutting/dying/washing hair read more

When I moved to the South Bay I was on the hunt to find my new eyebrow joint. I love the way my eyebrows look when they are threaded so I tried out various establishments for about 2 years prior coming to Hemma. Now, I've been coming to Hemma since 2015, and I literally will not let anyone else touch my eyebrows. Since I have a scar on my eyebrow at times at can be hard to make both of my eyebrows even, but Hemma finds a way to make them look even. I've been to a couple of threading salons in the area and Panache is a great find! The lady is very sweet and friendly. She made me feel more than just a customer by actually talking to me and getting to know me. It was a very fast and painless process and I was out of there before I knew it! She also gives you a punch card where after 10 visits, you get a free eyebrow threading! Only thing that was hard was to find parking but if you don't go around rush hour, then parking isn't an issue at all. read more

The threading job done here is excellent- alone, I would rate that 5 stars. However, parking is a pain in the ass and there hours are never accurate. I have come at 11am, when they open, and the threader won't show up until 11:30 or 12. Today, I called during their hours of operation and nobody answered, which typically happens when they are busy. I still showed up, and the shop was closed 30 minutes before the door-posted "holiday hours". Yesterday, there was only one threader with a 30 minute wait. After reading the positive and few negative reviews, I decided to try the salon out. I concur with the positive feedback. The owner was extremely sweet and did a nice job on my brows. I have extremely sensitive skin and it was a delight that I didn't walk out with a lot of redness which is typically the case for me. I used to go to Ziba and had fair experiences but often left with cuts on my brows. That could partially be my fault and the technician's. Panache is inexpensive however it didn't seem that I had to sacrifice quality; the results were competitive. They also have a frequent visitor card, so you get a free service once the card is punched up! A great find and I love supporting local small businesses! I'll definitely return for more! read more

I decided to try eyebrow threading, after having gone to the Benefit Eyebrow Bar in Macy's a couple times for waxing -- and wow, this is a much better deal! First, it's so much faster than plucking and waxing. The owner, Hema, was literally done with her first pass at my brows in 2 minutes.. no string breaking and only slightly uncomfortable. She then recommended eyebrow tinting...it lasts 3-4 weeks, and is only $20. I tried the lightest color and it wasn't quite dark enough, so she applied a second batch. No more having to wear brow makeup!! Finally, once my brows were tinted, she went threaded them again to better shape them. Total: $20 tinting + $8 brow shaping and threading. WOW. I'll be back - she mentioned lots of other all organic hair and facial services. read more

my first time here i just needed my chin ($5), cheeks ($5 each cheek!) and eyebrows ($8) so it was a total of $23 + tip. great job and a nice aloe gel coverage afterwards. FYI, if you want a full face wax, they will gladly do that but they won't wax your eyebrows -- they only thread the eyebrows. also i learned that the price of a full face threading job vs. price of a full face wax job is the same = $25. staff is super nice (I've only met Hema FYI). i was in and out in probably 10-15 minutes (would have been less had i not been chatting her up!). this is likely my new go-to place! read more

My go-to spot for getting my eyebrows threaded. They do a good job and the prices are unbeatable. They are quick (I've always just done a walk-in). You MUST go to the main girl or the owner. I recently went in and there was a new girl and she did my brows. She was sweet but ruined my eyebrows by making them both different. Thankfully the girl I normally see was able to quickly fix it up and do some damage control. This was only one instance where I had a less than ideal experience, all other times they have been great. Today was terrible. I went in with thick brows I've been growing out for years. I told the girl please leave them thick but lightly clean them up. She took off half of my eyebrows and my right side is 1 inch thinner than the other. I'm so disappointed. I don't know how else I could have explained to keep them thick! Updates as of 2/12/16-- Went around lunch time for my threading eyebrow appointment with Heema :) Changed my rating from a 4 to a 5 b/c this visit was spot on! She was very patient and made sure I was okay with it every step of the way :) (clearly, I'm happy because I am getting smile friendly). Key = go during non peak hours! ----------------- original review ---------------- Anytime I relocate, the first few places I go on a hunt for is a solid threading salon. Once I find them, I usually stick to that person & that ONE person alone. I gave (-1) star because the last 2 experiences I have had were not 100%, but I will update after 2-3 more tries. For the most part, majority of my experiences have been a 5 stars. I usually try to give one place at least 6-8 times, in case the stylist has a bad or off day. I was referred over to Heema by a girlfriend, who also takes threading very seriously (who knew it was a thing, right? ;P). Heema is great! Only once, while Heema was away on vacation did I try the other stylist, but the job wasn't as clean & tidy as when Heema did it. Moving forward, I will only get my eyebrows done by Heema. When I got my under arms waxed, the wax was so hot it burned and scabbed my skin for 2 weeks. If you do get a wax service from them, please make sure it is not too hot. Also, I definitely recommend going during a non-busy time/day. The salon is simple and there is nothing special about the decor, but that's not what matters when locating a talented stylist. In the 2-3 months I have been coming here, I have only seen 2 employees (Heema and her collegue). Sometimes, there is only one employee that works at the store and that can drastically affect the outcome of their work - ie. last visit there. Overall, aside from the last 2 visits which dropped it's rating review from a 5 star to a 4 star rating, I recommend Panache Beauty & Threading Salon. :) I will continue to update the review based on future experiences. read more

I was very impressed the first time I came here. It was my first eyebrow threading and it looked amazing! Kept its shape for 4-5 weeks. I came back the second time a few weeks ago and didn't receive that great of a job this time around. My eyebrows were uneven and jagged. I was able to fix the shape using eyebrow wax to create a shape. I came again today to fix my eyebrows and they're not open. Their sign says they're open Sunday's at 11am; I arrived at 11:09 and there's nobody inside. It's 11:15 and there's still no sign of anybody. If they're not opening today for whatever reason they should leave up a sign... I just want my eyebrows to look good for thanksgiving is that too much to ask???! read more

I moved to Redondo Beach a year ago and I was determined to find someone who could do perfect eyebrows. I did a little research on yelp and I was so happy when I discovered Panache'. Since moving to Redondo, Panache' is the only place I've ever gone to get my eyebrows threaded! They always do a great job on my brows. My hair is thin and kind of sparse, and I always ask her to keep it as thick as she can (brow pencils can only do so much!). I'm usually done within 10 minutes, and for eyebrows it's only $8! I come back about once a month, but visits will vary depending on what you want and what your brows are like. Appointments for eyebrows aren't necessary. I have been salon hopping to find a good place to get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. I was so dissappointed after I had my upper lip done at this place because the day after, I had small cystic acne growing on my upper lip. I think it's because of the gel they apply after the procedure. If your skin is prone to acne,sensitive and have pimple scarring issues,don't consider going to this place. read more
