I went to this place for the 1st time today and really liked that everyone was so kind and friendly. It's aesthetically appealing and clean. Coco did a great job with my gel nails! I love the polka dots. My pedicure on the other hand wasn't so great, which is disappointing. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. At a glance I thought the pedicure was great too but once I got home, and upon a closer look, my big toe polish looks a little blotchy and she covered the end section (near the skin) with polish in some parts and not others so it looks a bit weird. I called simply nail bar 20 minutes prior to my walk-in seeing if they had availability for a walk in around 4:00 pm and they took me right away. I was looking for a full set gel manicure and pedicure with acrylic nail and the price came out to $140 which is a little more expensive than I was anticipating but the nail salon was beautiful extremely well lit and had comfortable seating. I spoke with Denise when I called for my first appointment. She was very pleasant and helpful! She patiently explained the different pedi services and booked me an appointment for the next day with Lam. I have been searching for a new pedi place and my first experience was fantastic. Lam was timely and did a great job. I asked for a last minute lip wax and Hanna was able to take care of me. She is quick, efficient and very nice! There wasn't a lot of chatter going on among the employees and the clients were pretty respectful and quiet as well. I made an appointment to get acrylic fill ins for my nails and when I sat down the nail technician did not speak with me at all or tell me what she was going to do. She took off my nail gel from the last set, then she put my nails in a bowl of liquid and took off my existing acrylic nails on one hand. While my hand was still dipped in the liquid the receptionist couldnt find any of the colors I wanted, which is ridiculous for a nail salon that they have such a limited selection. The receptionist came in after my first hand was done and I was upset that my acrylics were taken off even though I specifically typed in the website that my appointment was for fill ins. The nail technician who took off my nails was rude and kept staring me down while she was doing my nails. The nail technician did a half assed job of taking off my nails and told me rudely that she doesn't do acrylics, that she only does gel. She charged me for her service and the receptionist asked if there was a problem. I told her yes, that I never asked for my acrylics to be taken off and now I was getting charged to take them off and had to pay for a whole new set of acrylics. I told them i did not want them to do any more work on my nails and to just charge me for what was done. Another receptionist who wasn't there in the beginning told me that they had to take off my set to put on a new set. I told her well this was not told to me when I first got here. I will never be coming back or recommending this place to anyone. read more

More of a 3.5 Great place for a pedicure or gel services BUT not a great place for dip. I came in for a dip powder service. I was charged for a manicure and dip powder. I asked for french tip with the powder. I guess that's not something they normally do because the provider only put powder on the tip of my nails. So I have large noticeable bump on the tips of my nail and they use gel clear polish in the rest. If I need a last minute pedicure I'd come here but i won't ever return for manicures or dip powder service. The place is clean, the people are nice, the have a great selection of colors but they don't seems to be up to date of styles for nails. When I asked for some adjustments to be made, my technician seemed really irritated. It took about 3 tries to get a heart. I noticed nail polish residue around the edges and cuticles, which seemed a bit sloppy. I noticed that my gel nails started peeling off less than two weeks after my appointment, despite them lasting at least 4 weeks at other places. I was really hoping to find a good nail salon in the South Bay. Quincy is my go to for nails and has been since first having her. Everyone at the front desk knows if I'm there I'm going to her. I have naturally long nails and it's hard for me to find someone to take care of them after moving here from SF. Quincy has restored my nails and keeps them up to date and fresh each visit with hard gel and polish on top. I can fall asleep in my chair getting serviced here. I got the acrylic full set + gel pedicure on Halloween weekend. This was prep for a wedding and a trip I had lined up, so I was very excited to get my nails done. It was busy as you'd expect with Halloween right around the corner, but even so, it was pretty apparent that my technician was rushing to finish my nails and get me out of the chair. Honestly, the service was not very good and the design was executed poorly. Kim, my technician, did apologize, and I'm usually pretty understanding about these things, so I told her it's okay and even left her a generous tip. I thought maybe I'd give the place another shot when it wasn't too busy next time. Unfortunately, the acrylic extensions started lifting from my nails the very next day, as shown in the pictures. I've been getting my nails done for 15 years and have been to enough nail salons to understand that beyond the messy topical design, this was due to careless application and curing of the base layers. I was already away from home, so it was too late to return to the shop to have them redone. My hair kept getting caught in the gaps created from the lifting every time I went to wash my hair. It became so bothersome I had to clip off the ends of my extensions. Not a good experience, but I would've let it go if this had been my only problem. My biggest issue is that one of my fingers got infected from the service. As shown in photos, it got very red and swollen with green puss around the cuticles. It was painful enough where I couldn't touch or bend the finger. Once I was back from my trip, I dropped by the shop and explained my experience to the manager (Kayleen), showing her my infected finger. She rushed to apologize and issued a full refund in cash. I still had to remove the rest of my extensions and they were glad to do so, which I appreciate. Jason was the tech who took care of me and he was quick, efficient, and very careful around my infected finger through the whole removal process. In the latter half of November, it's still painful enough where I struggle to carry out basic everyday activities. My finger is still oozing green-yellow puss and I'm taking a visit to the doctor's to get antibiotics prescribed. I regularly frequent nail salons and this is probably one of the worst experiences I've had. I appreciate how quick they were to make things right on my second visit, but I really hope the shop takes better precautions going forward about sanitizing their tools properly and keeping up good practices as technicians who we are entrusting parts of our bodies to. read more

I think I have been coming here to see Quincy for just about a year. My nails had been damaged by overfiling from gel manicure after gel manicure, and I was looking for something else. I had recently moved to the South Bay area, and after trying multiple salons, I came to find Quincy here because she does Apres Gelx. I'm active with my hands, and because my nailbed was damaged, GelX just wasn't working/lasting, and so Quincy truly was focused on nail care with me, experimenting with builder gel, and a variety of other things until we found that Dip Powder worked best for me. Not only does Quincy take care of my nature nail, making sure not to overfile during removals, she encouraged me to experiment with designs. Who knew after 6 months of her doing my nails that she was also an incredible nail artist. Show her any photo for inspiration, and she can create something for you. She can also just create something with colors if you give her free reign. I told her today and I say it here: I won't let anyone else touch my nails. I had a pedicure on November 30th with my first set of GelX. My pedicure went great except for one little cut, but the GelX didn't. When I mentioned to him there was too much product, he stated that it was because my nails are too brittle. Never had anyone ever say that, but with me being too polite I should have declined to pay for the service or have them fix it. I had to go somewhere else to try get them fixed and we found that there was bubbles under the nails where the product was uneven. I wanted white nails and toes but Linda recommended this milky white instead as to not look so bright and opaque which I'm SO glad she did because I think the translucent look makes my nails look more feminine and less aggressive! Really disappointing visit. I'm a loyal customer here and all the nail techs have been good in the past (which is why I'm rating 2 stars instead of 1) but this visit was different. I requested silver tip which the nail tech was very excited to do and told me it would look great. When it came time to do the design, she went to the front desk to ask her coworkers how to do it - which is fine - so another nail tech came over to show her how to do it. Ultimately the other nail tech ended up doing my entire design, and while rushing through it since I wasn't her original client, told me my "fill was bumpy and uneven." Not only was the color not what I was promised (they did black polish with a very small amount of white chrome that resulted in them just looking black), but I found it strange one employee told me the work the other employee had just done wasn't good and then did nothing to rectify it. Not worth a total of $100 for the set, and definitely not worth the additional $30 charge for a color/design I didn't request and again, a very very small amount of chrome. This nail salon is super aesthetically pleasing and clean . I generally have good experiences here , and as long as I call ahead I'm generally able to get a reservation within an hour . I would almost always recommend calling to book an appointment . Generally they always offer water or wine which is a nice touch . I've only had one annoying experience in which the lady servicing me painted my toes the wrong color . Upon realizing it when I got home I remembered her getting up during my service and looking confused and heading to the area where they displayed all the colors . At that point I feel like she realized her mistake but didn't want to redo the paint and just kept going. My only other recommendation would be to ensure you clarify the price for services before hand . At my recent visit I asked for a French pedicure with gel .
