What she did is not the same as the picture I showed and what they said they could do. My daughter is devastated and now walking around like this for holidays and I'm pretty disturbed we were charged $150 for a few highlights, this disaster in the back, and a trim that took 10 minutes of actual hair cutting. What a find!! I got…read moremarried on a Sunday in Worcester and called all around looking for a salon to do my hair and my bridesmaids' hair. Almost every salon was closed or would charge me an arm and leg to come to the hotel. The situation was a nail biter until I called Salon West and found out that they were open! Although it is unnerving to go to a salon we had never used for the big day, we felt confident with the reviews online. I had fairly good expectations - but could not shake that shadow of doubt. We showed up for a trial - and was immediately put at ease. The salon has a very small, cozy and welcoming feel with big open windows, two stations for cutting, and a big red wall with the 2 additional sinks against it. I was happy with my trial, but after wearing it for the day I started noticing things that I wanted to change about it. Barbara was a joy, taking all of concerns, addressing them, and changing my updo style on the day of the wedding. My hair ended up looking more amazing than I had ever imagined! I absolutely loved it! In 6 hours, Barbra transformed the hair of 6 ladies. Each girl had a different style, and Barbra did such an amazing job executing our hair styles while maintaining our individual personalities! All of our hair lasted through the night. (We are in our mid-twenties and danced the night away with no worries!!) Barbra was so great and allowed us to basically take over the space for the day! We were doing our nails, munching on lunch, doing our make-up and hanging out. She was so easy to get along with - and was really fun to be around on the special day! Barbra, we'll never forget you! Congrats on your marriage as well! This was the best decision ever!! I'd recommend Barbra to anyone looking for a fun experience at a great salon! I had originally scheduled with Hannah but unfortunately, she got sick and they had to cancel my appointment. They were super kind and apologetic about it and offered me another appointment the next day with another available hairstylist. They also honored the original quoted price. For example, Hannah charges $40 for a haircut, while the other stylist charges $50, they kept the price as $40. My new hairstylist was Dennise. I was attended to quickly and she sat down and had a conversation with me about what exactly I wanted and my past experiences. Honestly every time I have gone to a salon in the past few years, I leave disappointed. Last haircut I got was about 2 months before this one and they didn't cut it short enough or add any layers like I asked. It cost $150 and I was very unhappy with it. I showed Dennise some reference photos and she gave me suggestions and a walk through on what we could do to achieve what I wanted so that I wouldn't be surprised by anything. Unfortunately the picture I took with my new haircut doesn't really get the back of it so it doesn't do it justice. She did cut my hair slightly different because my natural hair is more to the curly side so she took shrinkage into consideration (and I wanted bangs). But my hair looked amazing! I had always tipped because there was a service done, the bleach on the scalp took some time. However I've not yet seen the reimbursement, and basically was told by the owner Becky that I should have contacted her - which is what I did many a time. Her response is she has her front desk staff have the client deal with the hairdresser first, then she'll intervene. Well when this first happened, I called said it was purple in places and was told by the receptionist that "Laurie was busy she would call me back." Laurie never called me back, her receptionist did and said Laurie said to wash it a few times. When I said I had washed it 3 times already, the receptionist went back to Laurie and Laurie told her to tell me to wash it a few more times. Now Becky the owner states this is normal to see purple deposit as she basically blamed my hair and choice of color as the issue. I believe her correspondence to me here was "when you want it that light with no warmth there can be purple deposit from the toner." She states this as normal, makes me feel like it's my fault that I choose a hair color - yet the girl that did cover for Laurie on maternity leave, used the same formula, took her time because she was new to my hair, and my hair had ZERO purple tone when I left. Becky additionally tells me that it takes a skilled colorist to do my hair. No, a skilled colorist would not overlap the toner on already processed hair. I had seen two owners of salons where they stated it's all on how much time you take with the client, you don't rush to overlap on previously blonde hair. The owner messages me here saying that I ruined Laurie and her reputation? And that she works hard to build her business? My hair showing purple when it should be light blonde is a reflection on their reputation and how they allow you to leave the salon like that - stating it's all normal for my porous hair. She must not know that the salons I did talk to and one that I decided to go with, said any hair that's dark and stripped becomes porous. So to use that as an excuse for her employee's mistake is quite ignorant on her behalf. Lastly Becky claims I harassed them with 10 min messages. If you know of any phone recording that allows over 2 ... let me know. I guess harassing by saying you've asked for her on multiple times but she as she says allows her front desk staff to make the call on who I should complain to is a threat. I guess it's also harassing when you say you'll review how they've treated you and your hair. As I figured - my hair was blamed as the problem not the stylist Laurie, but yet a new hairdresser can get it this blonde with no purple? Yet according to Becky purple tinge is normal. *Keep getting their employees viewing my profile Laurie T or N who decided to delete her stuff, and a Michele M or T depending on how they use their maiden or married name. It's funny that they know I utilize billy for extensions at this salon and I've already contacted billy via text to tell them what we're dealing with. Keep getting other harassing dms through yelp from random profiles that just get set up - no reviews or a review of just this salon. So you show what Laurie does to your hair and you get harassed by their employees and friends. Have contacted yelp on this matter as well as others in this matter.

When I met the stylist Frank I showed him a picture to similar of what I was trying to achieve. I also showed him him pictures of what I did not want.I clearly specified to avoid bob style haircuts and short layers as .y hair is wavy and becomes hea y and bulky. He led to a very uncomfortable shampoo station where he rushed it along and then seated .e in a chair to proceed with my cut. He then asked me in confusion so are we doing a blunt cut. I replied by telling that I explained what I did and did not want to. I was nervous the entire time and told him so but he kept responding with dont worry you are going to love it. When he was half through I knew something was wrong but ignored it. I had been through this before and did not want to to complicate the situation. He finished the very short cut and began to blow dry when I knew it was all wrong, but because I had a big event coming there was t more anything g could be done. I was not going to let him fix a bad cut to make it worse. He finished and I proceeded to pay. My card was expired I must ha e grabbed the wrong one. So embarrassing so I offered to drive him to get the right one and reassured I would e back to honor the payment. Next two days we're When I could reslly see the shape and style of his work. I decided to gat a second opinion and spoke to other qualified stylists that both agreed the layers were to short, the bottom was square a d boxy and nothing blended. I called Frank to arrange for him to see the cut after my first shampoo and we met. I expressed my disappointment and his response was too confident a d dismissive of my concerns. I left angry and decided to ask for a refund. He has not replied. Very unprofessional salon and so dissapointed.
