I am NEVER buying corn tortillas from a regular grocery store again! For $2 we got sooooooo many freshly made corn tortillas! A whole 2 pounds worth! (More than we even know what to do with at the moment - currently, looking up some taco recipes!) I love that they don't have all of that preservative stuff in it and you can actually see them being made right there in the store. In addition to the tortillas, there is a big case of baked goods to choose from. And while I already had plenty of Superbowl desserts waiting for me at home - I just couldn't say no. My only regret is that I wish I had known just how cheap everything was before I got to the counter and paid. For a pack of tortillas and 3 pastries, I only spent $5. The pastries ranged in the .80 to 1.40 each range, which is so incredibly reasonable considering that these were not just dainty little baked goods. While I can't say what exactly the 3 items were, (because there weren't any signs up) they were all good and I am excited to try so many more.

This bakery is a gem! We buy fresh, hot off the press corn tortillas ($1.60 a pound- approx 17 tortillas in a pound) and bolillo bread. The bakery also has a selection of pastry and donuts in traditional, serve yourself glass cases. The staff, and especially the guy operating the tortilla press was friendly and informative. If you enjoy corn tortillas, this is your place.

They have amazing selections and the moment you enter the place it smells and feels like a warm home. The baked goods look and taste incredible. By far the best place we have been in the state for pan dulce and baked goods.

Awesome bakery items all $0.80 to $1.30

In addition to their great selection of breads, they also make corn tortillas which are sold by the pound, and cakes such as tres leches.

A Truly Artisanal Bakery…read more I rarely leave reviews on yelp anymore, but this bakery is so impressive, it inspired me to type this down. I'm from the Bay Area and loved going to all kinds of bakery when I travel. I did not have much expectations when I came to Raleigh. I tried Paul and Jack and couple other bakeries, they were all good, but not impressive. The first thing I noticed was their Mill Room, and second I noticed that they have 100 score on hygiene. Not that I care about the score that much but still impressive. Then We got a bunch of pastries, the shortbread was the first one we tried and wow, it was so simple yet so flavorful, truly malted tasting shortbread, it has so much depth in taste. Then I had a had a ham and cheese croissant, it was on the salty side but I kept eating it when I'm not even hungry. The true winner though, is the plain croissant I got which traveled with me for 72 hours back home. I got it out of my bag, slightly flattened by all my stuff, I expect it to taste flat and meh. I put it in the oven for 6 minutes and it turned out to be the best croissant I've had. It was flaky, soft and soo flavorful. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. Lastly, I want to say that with so many pop ups, new bakeries coming up in different cities, often times we were chasing that unique flavors, that special toppings on croissants, but Boulted Bread stayed true to bread, and perfected the craft without focusing on "exotic" or "special" flavors. I truly respect this.

A bialy (bee-AH-lee) is a traditional Polish-Jewish bread roll, similar to a bagel but with key differences: it is baked, not boiled, has a dimpled center filled with onion bits and poppy seeds, and is generally softer and less dense. Originating in Białystok, Poland, these rolls are traditionally served plain or toasted with toppings like butter or schmear. 2. Rye shortbread. Not too sweet. Just perfection! 3. Bran biscotti. I like the idea of a high-fiber bran biscotti over a refined flour one. 4. Buchi Tepache. I got the mango-pineapple flavor. This is a local NC brand. It's a mildly fermented drink that originated in Mexico. I got the ingredients from their website (drinkbuchi.com): Organic Tibicos (Water, Organic Fair Trade Certified™* Cane Sugar, Organic Kefir Culture), Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Mango Puree, Organic Pineapple Juice Concentrate, Organic Whole Lemon Puree, Organic Mango Natural Flavor, Organic Pineapple Natural Flavor, Organic Monk Fruit Extract. 5. The baguette. Unlike a refined flour white bread baguette at La Farm Bakery, this one is made of a red wheat flour. Turkey Red flour is an heirloom, organic hard red winter wheat brought to Kansas in 1873 by Mennonite immigrants. Prized for its rich, nutty flavor and superior baking qualities, it is often used for artisan bread, sourdough, and pasta due to its unique, sometimes more digestible, gluten profile. It is commonly stone-ground and available from local Kansas millers. 6. The star of the show was the Everything Croissant. Like the Everything Bagel but soft and buttery. Topped with all the sesame seeds and seasonings with a cream cheese interior. So good! I do plan on returning!

Although the space is tiny, the desserts and cocktails more than make up for the line out front, and the noisy nature of downtown locations! There were 4 of us and we enjoyed the strawberry pretzel pie, derby pie, ice cream, coffee, and old fashioned. First of all, AMAZING cocktails- and an epic list of whiskeys, bourbons, and scotches. They've also got some custom beverages that you cannot find else. Super thumbs up for originality of cocktails, creative menu presentation, and speed of service! The derby pie was good- but I like mine with a denser filling. My friend enjoyed her strawberry pretzel pie, and the fact that not many places offer this on their menu. But, she said it was not as good as homemade. The gents in our party RAVED about how great Bittersweet's old fashioned drinks were! They said that these were definitely in the top three beverages they had ever had! This hole in the wall had a bridal party, some goth appearing folks, and suits too. In short, no matter what you like to drink, what you enjoy eating for dessert, you will find it here!

The space is fairly large and they stay open late (until 11 PM on weekends), making it a great place to hang out with friends or stop by to satisfy a sweet tooth during a night out. I've purchased their macarons as gifts, tried several desserts here and to-go, grabbed coffee and stayed to do work, and even stopped by for lunch. Their light bites are quite tasty, and I especially enjoy their phyllo-dough pastries. Their latte options are great--the flavors are creative yet still approachable, and the syrup options are delicious. Service is attentive and efficient. There's always a big team behind the counter, and instead of calling names, they give you a number and bring food or drinks directly to your table, which is so thoughtful! They can get quite busy at times - lots of families and big groups stop by to hang out. I enjoy the community it brings, though sometimes this is not the most ideal place to get work done. Highly recommend Asali for anyone looking to try creative desserts, a great cup of latte!

It was a huge disappointment and we won't be back, spent almost $40 for two not good slices of cake, a pot of tea, totally not worth it! Food: 1 Service: 4 Ambiance: 3
