Hey guys I just wanna let you know That is a good place to come and enjoy hot food! Make sure you bring cash, they don't take debid cards!!

Plantains, beans and creme - so good! Be careful the plantains are served so hot, you'll need to let them cool down!

Food is pretty good, a little expensive but the service was horrible, the lady was rude, practically took the menu out of my hand.

Since I was not familiar to the place, I was early...only to see a sign on a sheet of paper that they will be open at 8:30 am that day. Not a biggie but due to an unfamiliar area for me, I just sat inside my care and waited. When the door opened, the smell of freshly baked bread was inviting. The shop though...well, maybe it's just too early in the day or not. I was the 3rd customer in line....1st lady maybe forgot to take her morning pills and was grumpy about not having her usual pastry available and was having this high pitched conversation with the store person for her wrong math calculation for her baked goods. The 2nd customer waited patiently and got his long list of order. Then when I heard the price total...yep! This bakery has pricey goods. My turn came and all I said was TooGoodToGo...their day old pastries that were sold for lesser price. Maybe waiting patiently paid off since the man gave me 2 bags containing 6 pastries (I only paid for a bag)! I heated one muffin when I got home...and they were good! Will I make the trip again....uhmm....maybe.

I have driven past Frogs Organic Bakery for many years and I finally decided to stop in and see…read morewhat they are about and I am glad that I did. The store inside is postage stamp sized with no where to sit and enjoy a coffee and pastry, but the variety and quality of their product more than makes up for that. Besides, I know how expensive commercial space and labor are. On this visit I sampled sweet and savory offerings (sourdough, gluten free bread, cinnamon roll and bun and a chocolate croissant) First let me say that everything is handmade and being organic means that there is nothing in the mix that shouldn't be there, but most importantly everything was delish. I am not a sweet fiend, I am more of a savory guy and I was more than happy with everything that I sampled. The breads contained no added sugars and the pastries were lite on sugar and glaze. The flavors were honest and pure. My favorite of the bunch was the chocolate croissant. It was flakey, buttery and filled with the most delightful dark chocolate morsels; not too sweet, not too bitter just pure goodness. It paired well with my coffee, but should pair equally well with a glass of milk. Heck, all this talk has got me hungry for another one!!! Lastly, I respect and appreciate a company that stands behind their product (no compromise). Again, everything is certified organic and the dough is slow fermented (30 hours). This process enhances flavor, texture, digestibility for the gluten sensitive, better bioavailability of nutrients and enhances shelf life without adding preservatives. Finally, the young lady at the counter was super pleasant, knowledgeable and caring. I managed retail for nearly 20 years and I know good customer service when I see it and you will find none better than at Frogs. I will certainly be back to sample the rest of the menu.

The cake was fresh and my mom and aunt were so happy with the surprise. We had ordered cookies along with the cake, but unfortunately when my cousin picked up the cake the cookies were not included. We were a bit disappointed, but Torrance Bakery offered us a refund and we were very grateful for that. We definitely will order from them again!

The person who helped me was named Phillip. As I was paying for my baked goods he came over and…read moresaid I also got a mini cookie. I heard it, and I thought, which mini cookie did I get? Perhaps they had a metric system of weighing their goods that designated something as mini when it was typical cookie size. The cashier also asked mini? in slight confusion. Then Phillip cleared the misunderstanding. He was not saying mini, as in van or me, he was saying Minnie as in mouse. I had gotten a Minnie Mouse cookie, with pink frosting, because it was cute and I think that eating pink makes something just a wee more special. Why? I do not know out of all the colors I think the color pink has a monopoly on the cute to eat factor, with purple a whisp behind. The short interaction colored Phillip, a princely color. Thus for the moment he became Prince Phillip of Torrance Bakery. I went to this bakery because I wanted to help celebrate the birthday of my favorite bartender. I wanted to go to a Bakery that was not in the Southbay, closer to where the big cookie names are. But, as this review will later tell, this bakery can hold its own very well against the tinsel town contenders that define must-get sweets in LA. The Bakery is in old town torrance. It was packed, on a random Wednesday. All the baked goods were perfectly lined. I had a goal in mind so I took some clips but did not review the offerings intensely. I did not want to clog the line more than I should. Especially, when I knew that I could carry more questions than a quiz master when I encounter a new bakery that perks my tongue-up! So I picked up the pink cookie, and then I saw a sour cream muffin. I never seen a sour cream muffin, but I think I had heard of them so I chose one to take to my mom. I partly expected for the muffin to have a sour cream center. You know how like a hostess cupcake has cream in its center. Before eating it, my mom did the mom thing, and split it so multiple members of her brood can get a taste. It might be my imagination, but there was a broken swirl that connected all three slices of the muffin. The taste of the sour cream muffin was delightful, seriously! The sour cream was not a present taste that made you be like ok I am eating sour cream in a muffin, it was more an agent that moistens the muffin to an edge of good pleasure. And I have not gotten to the cake which was meant and was the star of the show. As I was ordering my cake, the line had become longer, and thus I felt the pressure more. I first wanted to get the lemon cake. I am a sucker for lemon. But then I realized that this might not be a cake for most. Like lemon is good, but not all. Like in an ice cream sampler should we have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry or sub one of these for lemon? Phillip recommended their best seller- the strawberry. But I decided to go a bit more classic with a twist- a classic yellow cake with french cream. And when we cut into it later, it was so good you all---- like one of the best cakes I have had in my life and that is no exaggeration. The wonderful thing, that put this cake on the top tier, was the cream--- it mirrored the taste of ice cream. My brain was wonderfully confused--- I was not chewing ice cream, not licking or drinking it. To be more specicif, the french cream had a vanilla like taste that is present in vanilla ice cream. Eating this was one of those moments that expanded my taste inventory and I am kind of grateful cause it happened on a random Tuesday. I went to get a gift for my friend, and this bakery gave me a gift too. And no this place did not pay me in cookies and brownies to write this, the taste of the french cream on classic yellow was that wonderfully unique for me to say that I was grateful for the experience of eating this treat. Am I a foodie or a visitor from candy lane? My blood is red with sugiar within-- so who knows? I have found a new place for my baked good needs.
