It's a shame that this is the only decent bakery this side of town. There are quite a few places in Hawthorne, Gardena, Inglewood that are closer to El Segundo/MB/Redondo & Torrance/Harbor city & I've been to most of them -they were all terrible. Including the markets (in Hawthorne etc). This place is always super crowded & even though they extended the space, it's still a madhouse trying to get in/out for a small bag of sweet bread. Parking also a nightmare! It's your typical small mini strip mall parking, and good luck finding it on the street as well, it's just over populated and sketchy surroundings. But if you manage to squeeze in, be careful in what you select, I've seen some people grab the breads with their bare hands (yes, ewww!) bcz you just don't know where o where they've been or if washed. Its a cluster'eff trying to get around. And I never understood why the some employees there are mopping when it's crowded w/people all over. Defeats the purpose of cleanliness or sanitation. And they get mad because you're in the way......Do u not want customers $$$? Well it's the only decent place in the South Bay serving the beach areas :(, but if I'm out in the East side, I stock the high heavens on bread so I don't hv to go thru this madness. read more

I was in the area and was craving some pan dulce. I searched on Yelp and came across this business. I got four pieces of sweet bread for $3. Excellent deal. The bread was soft and delicious. I definitely recommend their bread. They do take debit cards but I like to use cash at these small businesses because I know it's easier for them to deal with. read more

Not great things about this bakery. Waited in line to pick up an order we placed and after 15 minutes , with no greeting, I was told my order could not be made. Apparently they had no baker come in today. No call to tell me this and not great. The person working there was not apologetic and did not offer any options. read more

If I could leave a 0 rating I would but the review won't allow me. We placed tamale orders two years straight in advance. However they continue to disappoint. Our order was never placed. We went to pick up the tamales and they did not have our order, nor did they have alternatives. I had a large order for a party of 15. I spoke to the owner himself the second time so I can assure my order was placed and yet they failed again. The issue is the owner. If an order falls between the cracks because of a mistake, I can understand but this has been the second time and the owner was involved. He obviously doesn't know how to run a business nor hold on to clients. In addition, the hygiene of the business is questionable, but I'll leave that for another reviewer because I'm sure there will be. read more

Paid and ordered a cake. When I get there the cake smudged. The lady was still offering me the cake. She says " you want it or not?" I asked what happened to the cake. Nobody knows but the did say the guy who makes the cake is at another location. The whole time the cake is getting waved around the bakery and breathed on. They offer my money back, and in a way that made me feel unwelcome in the bakery at that point. The lady dropped the money in my hand and shoved the cake back into the fridge. I was so angry I started to cry right there besides the line of people getting pasteles. Patrons showed them and explained the cake was messed up. The guy at the register threw his hands up and shrugged his shoulders. After 20 minutes he came to talk to me. He blamed the baker. So then they put my cake in a box that was too small for the plate at the base or it and did not close. Mind you it's raining and now bread crumbs are on my cake. I was absolutely disgusted. I gave them the money back and just left. I was treated horribly and no one cared. The cake was ugly and smudged as if someone's finger went across the side. The birthday person whom it was for is very special to me. Very special. I used to buy the pasteles. I had to request a bag to put on the exposed part of the cake so rain would not get in it. Did I mention last year my cake wasn't ready? I went with them again because I support small businesses in my community and I figured every one has an "off" day. But 2 years in a row and you made me cry. Never again. Keep your money and as far as the cake it's still in the car. Totally upset and embarrassed. And I'm super understanding. read more

All you have to do is follow your nose to this place on Hawthorne Blvd. and you will be pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of pan dulce. As far as Mexican bakeries go this place is solid. They have all the standard pan dulce pastries, muffins and cookies. They stick with what works and it pays off. The bread here is good and you won't be disappointed. Omahgod I just moved near and was excited to see this place around the corner. The smell alone jesus, and they have all the classics faves. They sell a variety if tamales too, the prices were a tiny bit higher than what I'm use to but then prices from 1 dollar growing up to now still hits memory lane a bit u know. The chilies rellenos are good. It's a small kitchen panaderia and it's what u expect and remember if you've been to panaderias like this.
